Thought I would get there 1st!!!

Zooming in - almost finished housework and feeling less stressed out - poor DH, he came home to a very wound-up mummy when he got home for lunch - after almost driving into a wall on my way back from dropping him off at work (!!!!) and doing lots of cleaning and hoovering, I must say I am feeling better! Still got lots to do though .....

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom ........

ARGH - Can't remember anything anyone said, apart from MrsGV getting the wrong end of the stick ..... LOL!

Hope everyone else is ok!!

I can't believe what I have missed it's sooooooooooooo funny

I love your thread titles elliek, if that was so offensive wouldn't MN have stepped in and got rid of it.

This MrsGV seems to have a screw or two lose

Great to see so many of you joining up for a buddy, I will leave it for the weekend to let more people join then start sorting you into pairs.

Eddas · 22/02/2007 16:15

Glad to see you on our thread MrsG, thought you were just offended by the titles and didn't actually go on the threads

IsabellyMoi, thanks re the rash, had read it could be something so thought i'd better be off to doctors to check it out. She did take some blood just to make sure. I am alergic to random things so not suprised i got a rash!!

And I like the 'if you don't like our title f*ck off' one. But don't think we should use it as there's a swear word in it[haylo(sp) smiley]

So think we should go for the minty sperm, spit swallow..... one

Due in April - a horde of angry boiled eggs on legs

Courtesy of Greensleeves on The Other Thread.

I haven't laughed so much in weeks.

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 16:39

Hello everyone- I've finally got here!!
Have to say I was stood in sainsbury's the other day look for rennie muttering 'minty sperm...minty sperm' (so I wouldn't forget why I was there!) Don't think I got any funny looks though as there wasn't anyone nearby.

Well I thought the whole thread title thing had been sorted out - MrsG realised she had the wrong end of the stick, but it seems as though it's still going. I was going to be adult about it but I think I'll just stick my minty-sperm covered tongue out!
On a more serious note I always felt happy that this AN club managed to avoid the nastiness and pettiness almost everywhere else on the boards (not the SN ones, I never read those) but this has put a bit of a downer on it now - if we all have to censor what we're saying and can't have fun. Thanks a lot.

1b3 - excellent idea about the buddies (is that term twee? Apologies in advance). I've signed up.

flumpootle, glad your house viewing was positive - do you think the others will sell soon? For us, the last people who looked were interested, but aren't having any luck selling theirs. To be honest though, we don't need to move any time soon, so it wouldn't upset me if nothing came of it (and we've already had a giraffe and zebra blind put in the nursery)

Ellie, what did you decide to wear? After you ignored my fashion advice!!

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 16:46

Haven't laughed so much in ages. Love all the new thread titles suggested.(maybe love's too strong a word, I am heavily pregnant, therefore very emotional after all).

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 16:49

Katy - what is an SN board, btw?

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 16:55

Special needs. I think (although I'm not sure, as I say I didn't really read them and don't any more since you have to opt in) that there was quite a lot of arguments caused by people posting about their SN children, and people who clicked on the conversation in the active conversations thread replying inappropriately, not realising they were in a SN thread. If you see what I mean.
Well, I've had my say on the AIBU thread...feel like starting one saying am I being unreasonable in thinking that MN has now lost some of its shine for me?
But that's petty.

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 16:59

Katy - just read your post on the other thread and wholeheartedly agree with you. I remember some months ago another MNer came on and politely asked us to start a new thread as out title had upset someone, and we were happy to do so. It's all about the way someone asks you (rather than just butting in and being rude).

nuttygirl · 22/02/2007 17:00

Katy - I think that's very reserved of you!!! Personally I feel like starting one on there saying AIBU to think that at 34 weeks pg I can still give DH a BJ?

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:01

And don't let MN loose its shine. In spite of the comments about not liking it when people write ((((hugs)))) etc, I actually find it quite reassuring. We are all friends here now, albeit virtual ones, and let's not let this afternoon's comments ruin that. (((hugs)))

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:02

LOL Nutty

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:03

"Katy - just read your post on the other thread and wholeheartedly agree with you"
Are you saying you think I look like a boiled egg as well
(Oh you mean my other post )

Ready · 22/02/2007 17:06

Hi, I'm from the TTC boards (the other group that got bashed for our posts today ) and I just wanted to say that I didn't think your thread title was innappropriate - especially when you consider some of the dubious things that go on around and about on MNet!!

Hope you weren't too upset Ellie

Some people just feel the need to upset others, it's a shame she ruined your thread.

All the best girls for April

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:06

No, not that comment! (But do you?)

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:06

And yes, Emmymummy, I was thinking of that thread as well
I agree with not letting it ruin MN, and I'm sure it won't for me certainly, but it's just a bit miserable.

1b3 -MISS, MISS, can I bagsy someone? (No-one in particulay, I'm just feeling childish )

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:08

Thanks Ready, that was very nice of you.

I do look like a boiled egg, before I looked like me with a bump, but just in the last week or so, I'm more definitely oval.

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:09

Thanks Ready. We shall carry on in our offensive little way!

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:10

1B3 - can you add another link to your buddy thread as it's got lost along the way...?

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:15

1b3's buddy thread

flumppootle · 22/02/2007 17:18

A horde of angry boiled eggs on legs

Katy, the viewers are hopeful to sell quickly thankfully. Would prefer not to be doing this right now tbh but needs must and we have to buy in Scoltand in May so have to stick with it.

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:20

Good, there's nothing worse that not knowing how long you have to wait!

Can I suggest that in honour of Ellie's 80s weekend away, the next thread should be called "Like a Virgin"? Or maybe just "CEDNSORED" would be better?

Emmymummy · 22/02/2007 17:20

Hey Glitterkitty - your name's appeared on the buddies thread, but we've not heard from you for ages! You there? All OK?

Katy44 · 22/02/2007 17:21

"censored" of course

will take my hormones back in the kitchen.

doginsantasgrotto · 22/02/2007 17:21

Hi everyone
Well, well ... cannot believe the fuss! As I think someone says, it makes me realise how lucky we are to have a whole thread of such lovely people and that none of the less pleasant MNers are due in April! Honestly, just a bit of fun and no-one's business other than ours anyway. OK rant over and I know we shoudl have moved on by now.

Is anyone else constantly dreaming about the labour and waking up in the morning disappointed that LO isn't already here?! Am sooooo excited now ... especially as some of my NHS antenatal group have started having theirs ... seems all the more real now.

Have made my final list for hospital bags now ... just need to pack. MW appt confirmed this week that the baby was head down and heading in the right direction. She gave my tummy a real pummelling and said she could even feel LO's nose!!

Hope everyone OK and feeling as upbeat as I am today. Cannot wait to be a Mummy!!

xx

Birdiebump · 22/02/2007 17:22

WHAT HAVE I MISSED????

I never thought things would take off like that! Trust me to be flat out at work when it's all going on here.

Hopefully the whole thing has run its course. TBH guys, it doesn't upset me in the slightest, it's all only words and I really hope it doesn't take the shine out of MN for people on here. I too, think there is more to laugh about (on both sides of the "argument") than to get wound up over. I am a great believer in freedom of speech (within reason) on these boards and if Mrs GV wishes to sound off it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, lets send her loads of [[[[hugs]]]] and pregnant hippy love to brighten up her day.

Want to be an "angry boiled egg on legs" tho!!!
