Rise, I am missing brie too!! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas
Am getting a lot of movement now... Feels like baby is bouncing off my cervix... it's a very weird feeling

MrsJW15 · 27/12/2016 12:09

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas! It's left me totally exhausted I think, currently enjoying some quiet time.

I think I'm feeling kicks but nothing on the outside so far. A bit jealous of your cage fighter mighty!

Nurse15 · 27/12/2016 12:22

Quick question for anyone who has had their 20 weeks scan already, how long did it last roughly? Mine is at 9am tomorrow! Thanks in advance Smile

MrsJW15 · 27/12/2016 12:48

Nurse they were running a bit late for us but once we were in it only took about half an hour. I had to go and empty my bladder half way through Blush but baby seemed to be in the right place. I know some people get sent for a walk to move baby.

INeedNewShoes · 27/12/2016 14:22

Mine was around 20 minutes. Good luck for your scan tomorrow Nurse Smile

Rabbitykins55 · 27/12/2016 14:44

Nurse mine was about thirty minutes. Hope it all goes well! Smile

INeedNewShoes · 27/12/2016 14:55

What I forgot to mention is that the sonographer did around 90% of my scan then he sent me for a walk for half an hour to try to get the baby to move so that he could see the heart which had been hidden up to that point. Because of that, all in all the whole process around an hour.

teainbed · 27/12/2016 15:01

Good afternoon all. No news but just checking in as you've dropped off Threads I'm On. I have a fetal heart scan tomorrow which is the last one of my extra bits and bobs it will be good to get that done.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

lucieloos · 27/12/2016 16:20

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! Has anyone picked up any sales bargains or decided on nursery furniture yet? We got a lovely rocker from mamas and papas today was £79 down to £35. We also ordered mamas and papas nursery furniture but not from the store and had a mega saving! Couldn't resist the bargains just hope our 20w scan goes ok this time next week.

RasperryInAMelon · 27/12/2016 16:24

Lucie I picked up a Tommee Tippee electric breast pump, bedding bundle, angelcare audio, sound and sensor monitor and a dress for my Christmas work party on the 8th!

lucieloos · 27/12/2016 16:40

Wow raspberry you've done well. Where did you get them?

INeedNewShoes · 27/12/2016 16:45

I've just bought a Joie owl rocker for £19.99 down from £50 at Smyth toys.

I'm not supposed to be buying anything for this baby apart from a pushchair (loads of friends with baby things to pass along to me)!

But I spotted this rocker a few months ago and liked the look of it and it seemed too good to miss.

FatOldBag · 27/12/2016 16:52

I kept saying to dh before Christmas that we could do some sales shopping for the baby. Now it's sales time I have no idea what to buy or where is actually having a baby clothes sale. I've got 2 dc already, youngest is 4.5 - why am I this clueless?!

We have bought a couple of outfits already and some friends have given us a few clothes, a baby monitor, sterilising stuff. I have got an expressing machine and we still have a baby gate, a high chair type thing and a buggy.

My other 2 co-slept and bf'd, but since then I had a boob job so I have no idea if I can bf or not. If not I'll need bottles and formula and a cot and stuff (apparently co-sleeping is only really safe for bf babies as that heightens the mum's awareness not to squish the baby)! I don't want to buy £100s of stuff I don't need. As long as we have nappies and wipes and clothes, is it mental to just wait til he's here and see what he needs then?!

What's on everyone else's shopping list? Are there any sale must-haves before baby arrives?

RasperryInAMelon · 27/12/2016 16:53

Lucie I got everything from Mothercare. Have officially been put on a buying ban until the nursery gets decorated and the new carpets down at the end of Jan. Literally can't move in the nursery 🙈

Little girlie got awfully spoilt this Christmas by parents, in laws and friends and she's not even here yet!

RasperryInAMelon · 27/12/2016 16:55

Boots have had a brilliant children's clothes sale too. But I bought a lovely bundle from a local Facebook page for £30 the other day and got LOADS!

FatOldBag · 27/12/2016 16:56

Oooh, and I have super exciting news, at 18+5, I have not been sick today, OR yesterday! AND I don't even feel sick (well, not very). Yay!

RasperryInAMelon · 27/12/2016 16:57

If anyone is after a 3 in 1 monitor the Angelcare AC1100 video, movement and sound monitor is currently £160 on Mothercare down from £249

PeachIcedT · 27/12/2016 19:06

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas! I've had 3 days on the trot forcing down massive roast dinners/leftovers. Had to apologise to baby a couple of times as space must've been seriously cramped in there.

Although I hadn't wanted to buy anything just yet, I've caved and today bought a tommee tippee perfect prep (DH got excited by this and the prospect that his night feeds will be easier) and a bottle steriliser kit too. I hope it will only be used after I've attempted the bf - and hopefully compatible with expressing. Also bought ONE item of clothing in the sales (I could've got carried away!) and a small bundle of second hand from eBay. Gosh it's so easy to see how the cost can mount up so quickly buying baby stuff!

1004Rise · 27/12/2016 21:57

I've been looking at car seats and they're more confusing than prams/pushchairs Confused We have 2 that we think we really like (neither of which I can find in a sale Hmm) One will go on a pushchair with adaptors, the other won't but it is possible that it'll do up to 4 years old.... it's also almost twice the price. Really confused!

Badgerbird · 27/12/2016 23:20

Just a quickie but some good sale stuff maternity wear on new look website. :)

lucieloos · 27/12/2016 23:24

I've just bought a natural cotbed mattress from little green sheep with 20% off too. Definitely some bargains to be had!

Rustler74 · 27/12/2016 23:44

1004Rise, I feel no need to buy a carrier car seat as I won't be able to carry it with baby in it, ever!
I was going to have a car seat that stays in the car. Bounty.com offers has a good one (Joie) which seems to be half price at the moment and goes from 0 to 10 years of age, offering rear facing until age of 4, just like the Swedish have researched is the safest way to travel.
Otherwise I'll be off to the In Car Safety centre in Milton Keynes to talk it all through.
Christmas was pretty good with the in laws here and a successful turkey dinner! I was given some lovely presents including the Summer body pillow. I have slept with it for 2 nights now and they were the most comfortable nights I've had for a long time! Recommended although a similar one would obviously do!

Rustler74 · 27/12/2016 23:48

Badgerbird thanks for the tip.
Had ordered some from Boohoo Maternity but the quality is a letdown, seriously. Gonna try arranging a return tomorrow. I don't like ordering online but JojoMamanBébé seems to be better in quality.
Also need a nice frock to wear to a wedding at 37 weeks!

1004Rise · 28/12/2016 08:30

Rustler that's what I was thinking 4.5kg of car seat plus 3/4 kg of newborn I might be able to lift for a couple of weeks but then I end up doing my back in and the car seat would stay in the car.... the only advantage I guess is when coming home from hospital you could take the carrier in and fumble in the safety of the hospital while we try and work out which bit goes where Wink
