I had a voicemail message from the hospital today saying they would try again to get me but they didn't. They rang on an 'unknown' number too so I couldn't ring back to see what they wanted. I wonder if that was to schedule my 12 week scan, as I haven't had an appointment letter yet.

whyistherumgone · 14/12/2016 20:24

how far are you kits sounds likely it could be about the scan they might have a cancellation that they're going to offer to you.

I've got the evening bump too! Some days I swear I look seven months pregnant - I thought it was just bloating but there's a definite curve to my stomach in the morning as well.

I'm finding it hard to eat healthily now there are too many Christmas treats around! Still trying to make sure I get my five a day but suspect it's all going to go out of the window soon.

Lallypopstick · 14/12/2016 20:32

Tinkling your scan may be different, but at my early scan (7+5), they didn't do the thing where you can hear the heartbeat. The sonographer said that the equipment they use can raise the embryo's temperature which can be dangerous. I could see the heartbeat flickering on the scan though which was very reassuring.

I'm currently bored of waiting and slightly anxious again. First appointment on Monday (10+2), if I hadn't paid for the early scan I don't know how I'd have coped this long without seeing anyone 'official.' Got a pile of paperwork to start filling in before then too.

Hulaballoo · 14/12/2016 20:34

Thanks amillionmiles and wherehastherumgone 😀 going b to try to keep busy... I've also stated getting spots but I'm prone too them anyway... Then I fell pregnant and my skin has been great!! But last two days not so much... Could be the McD's that I really fancied as I really couldn't be bothered to cook... Naughty 😇

TinklingTheIvories · 14/12/2016 20:39

Thanks Lally - hearing the heartbeat would be a bonus, but just knowing it's all ok is what I really want. Will just have to wait until Wednesday and find out. We get 4 scan pics printed too, so that's Christmas for my folks sorted :)

rhodes2015 · 14/12/2016 20:40

Also got an evening bump! Well sort gradually blows up the more I eat through the day. Very round under my belly button and the skin feels .... I don't know, weird, like spongey??

whyistherumgone · 14/12/2016 20:53

yes exactly that rhodes it's not wobbly and it's not strictly bloaty either.

Hula good plan. And if you ever want a chat feel free to PM me I can really sympathise with the anxiety train of thought - it can be so absorbing. I had macdonalds the other day for the first time
in ages - really wanted a burger!

Currently feeling really queasy after dinner and looking for something festive to watch on TV while I lie here feeling rough - there really isn't much on at all!

mummycaitlin · 14/12/2016 21:23

tinkling you won't get to hear a heartbeat I'm afraid until your 16 week appointment with a midwife, but you'll be able to see it on the scan.

We had our private scan this afternoon, all is fine and everything progressing as it should do. They've moved my date to 9 weeks exactly with EDD of 19/07. We got to see the baby jigging away and it moved its little T Rex 'arm buds'. Excited for my next scan on the 29th. Ow as will see more shape to the baby.

I'm 100% properly showing now, no hiding it! (See bump photo below from last week!). I look the same as I did with DS1 at about 20 week, my uterus is like 'yup, I know what I'm doing I may as well get big now!'. My sickness had pretty much gone but has been replaced by aches and stretching where my tummy is expanding, I constantly feel full and bloated where things are pressing already.

I've enquiries about NCT and the costs as I didn't do it with DS1 and I regret it due to the 'ready made' group of other mummy friends.

whyistherumgone · 14/12/2016 23:26

congrats mummy lovely photo :) will you be 12 weeks on the 29th?

mummycaitlin · 15/12/2016 07:23

I'll be 11+2, so it's fine I'll go but they'll probably have me back the next week to confirm measurements. I didn't think it was worth trying to arrange over Christmas and it being so busy!

Seahawk80 · 15/12/2016 08:21

Morning - how's everyone doing? I'm getting nervous about the scan now. It's at 1330 so I'm off to spend the morning with my nieces to distract me!

whyistherumgone · 15/12/2016 08:50

Hey seahawk good luck! will be sending good luck/happy bouncing baby vibes your way!
Good plan with your nieces.

I'm in a good mood this morning, although still don't really feel pregnant. Not sure if this is because I haven't had a scan yet but I'm not feeling particularly connected or anything at the moment, just a bit run down with weird appetitive habits!

Today I'm going to do some of the last bits of Christmas shopping as I have a free day and go for a swim - been trying to go twice a week but it absolutely shatters me.

Hope everyone else is feeling good or better if you've been feeling sick.

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 15/12/2016 09:12

It's my work Christmas do today and I'm thinking about telling my colleagues because it's going to be impossible explaining why I am not drinking and struggling to eat anything, it's been a stressful one to organise and I've had a number of offers to buy me a large drink already! I think my scan at 10 weeks was reassuring enough that I feel comfortable telling them now.

Spindelina · 15/12/2016 09:24

I had to tell work straight away because of the environment I work in. Not ideal, but I get some leeway!

Off to my scan now.

rhodes2015 · 15/12/2016 09:35

Congrats mummy lovely pic!!
Thumbs, i did that....I had a scan at 10weeks, (last week)and had my works do on Saturday so I told them the day before ....same as you I really couldn't think of anything to explain why I wasn't drinking. I also barely ate anything of my 3 course meal. Think it would have been obvious!

Seahawk.... ah exciting! also sending massive good vibes your way!!

Why, me too! I don't really feel pregnant now also just the weird appetite that reminds me I am!

rhodes2015 · 15/12/2016 09:36

Good luck spindelina!!! X

whyistherumgone · 15/12/2016 10:01

Glad to hear I'm not alone rhodes

thumbs if it's going to stop you enjoying it and stress you out maybe it's the right thing to do, go with what you feel like is the right thing.

Good luck spindelina!
I'm trying to motivate myself to use my free day productively but am sitting on the sofa....

Spindelina · 15/12/2016 10:36

Yay! I'm still in! Scan put me at 8+6, which I think is 21st July? DDs birthday is 24th July, so I'm aiming for 1st August Grin.

whyistherumgone · 15/12/2016 10:42

Congrats spindelina so pleased it went well for you. Did you have internal? I have one next week when I think I am ten weeks and am unsure whether it will be internal or external. Should probably phone and ask

Spindelina · 15/12/2016 10:44

Yeah, all three scans so far have been internal.

whyistherumgone · 15/12/2016 11:54

Thanks :) hope you have a good day and can relax a bit now!

Chunder · 15/12/2016 12:14

I actually have energy today so I've been fairly productive. I've made 3 huge lasagnes for the freezer, had the boiler safety checked, done some laundry and made a start on the xmas decorations. Now relaxing with a glass of vimto. Grin

I won't see a midwife until the 12th of January! I'll be about 12 weeks then. Goodness knows when I'll get a scan. That's worrying me. I've been spotting on and off for a while now but every time I ring they say it's no big deal.

I've told my my mum, sister and boss already. I was getting sick at work and since I work in a restaurant I didn't want to keep getting sent home. My mum is actually excited which is nice, I guess I worked myself up for no reason!

Glad to see everyone doing well!

Notyetthere · 15/12/2016 13:11

Back from the scan. Baby measured 11+5 which changes my EDD to 1st July. This is a more realistic date going by ovulation and conception dates that I had.

Went through the whole shenanigans of collecting blood again! But this time we managed to get it on the second attempt so not too bad. I'm glad I don't have to worry about blood until 28 weeks.

Awwww lovely scan photos everyone ! Smile

Just a quick question: is anyone having to constantly eat to keep the nausea away or is it just my body being weird ? I mean every 30 minutes I'm having to eat to keep away that awful clawing nausea feeling ! It's actually very tiring having to constantly eat ! Weird but true. Anyone else ???
