Glad I reassured you Drew

Now having a stupid panic myself as feel great, this time last week I'd have guven anything to feel normal! Hoping it's because I'm off work this week so more rested. Have a scan on thurs so at least I won't have to wait long!

bluebird1235 · 13/12/2016 14:05

Seahawk I think you might just be well rested. I spent ages trying to work out why I felt great some days and terrible others and then I realised that I always feel bad on the days DP has to work away and we get up at 5am and fine on the other days where I get to sleep til 7am...

DaisyQueen · 13/12/2016 15:29

I've rang the midwife today as i still hadn't recieved a scan date. It is on the 30th which by my dates is 13+5. It seems late for a first scan

LuciBee231015 · 13/12/2016 16:16

Daisy, I think first scans can be anything between 11-14 weeks to be honest. Annoying for you tho, would be nice to get it in before Christmas

Seahawk80 · 13/12/2016 16:41

Thanks Bluebird I'm sure that's probably it. I'm just going to enjoy feeling normal!

Popularcontrarian · 13/12/2016 20:03

I'm the same seahawk definitely worse when I'm tired. Definitely think my nausea is easing though, knackered today and only a bit queasy.

A hormonal wreck though. Very bad mood all day and had a bit of a cry when I got home. Very mean people at work getting to me. I burst my boiler trying to get something sorted for a group of people yesterday, got it sorted, and then one of them emailed our external partner complaining about how things are organised and that despite their queries things are not resolved for them. So upset by the blatant lies! At least I had my million emails to show I responded straight away and had it fixed by the end of the day. Not sure how to deal with it, the person who wrote the complaint didn't cc me on the email but it was forwarded on...think I need to confront the woman who sent it and let her know she's a sneaky cow

(Tangental non pregnancy waffle, sorry!)

Seahawk80 · 13/12/2016 20:16

What a nightmare contrarian customers can be the worst!!

Has anyone else around the 11/12 week mark considered the odd tiny glass of wine? Just once a week with a nice meal. I don't know if I'm an awful person for even thinking about it now I'm a bit further along!

Notyetthere · 13/12/2016 20:26

Sea I plan on having a glass of Buck's Fizz on Xmas morning. I will be at 13+3. I might even have a half glass of champagne on Xmas day evening.

Spindelina · 13/12/2016 20:39

I've been having the odd glass of something all along.

DrewOB0 · 13/12/2016 20:42

Did another test tonight, much darker so I'm feeling better

purplebella · 13/12/2016 20:52

I'm feeling the same but not with alcohol. I'm suddenly wanting brie and all the fancy cheeses we can't eat!

Seahawk80 · 13/12/2016 21:02

Thanks not and spin It's my birthday on Monday and we're going to the ivy so I think I'll have a glass of champagne!

purple you can have the cheese if it's cooked!

Fattycowagain · 13/12/2016 21:11

You can eat most of the fancy cheeses, just make sure they're made with pasteurized milk and not with raw milk.

Seahawk80 · 13/12/2016 21:27

Ps - that wasn't a stealth boast - reading it back it looked like it was! Just isn't the same going somewhere fancy and having a water! I don't really like any soft drinks so
Am finding not drinking v dull.

whyistherumgone · 13/12/2016 21:31

Hello all! seahawk if I get to the 12 weeks I'm going to have a glass of something occasionally :)
I have this weird jinx thing til the 12 week mark which probably makes no sense - I bought some low peroxide no ammonia hair dye then for worried about using it any qua despite my roots being terrible.

My diet has also gone to pot. All I want is carbs, carbs, carbs. I feel like I'm really putting on weight now and not sure I should be so much! trying to supplement said carbs with vegetables and salad as much as possible. How's everyone else doing with diet?

I'm already so nervous about my scan next week I think it's going to really drag until then!

just scoffed down two biscuits for no real reason other than they were there oops - I was all "I'm not going to use it as an excuse to let
myself go" at first... hope that's not famous last words!

So sorry to hear your sad news Beam I hope you and your partner are OK. Look after yourself as best you can, will be thinking of you.

Will be sad to see you go fatty can you pop on and let us know how you're getting on still? :)

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I'm still light on symptoms - sore boobs, tiredness, feeling incredibly bloated and occasional bouts of gagging - but I keep having incredibly vivid dreams including one where my late grandpa told me I'm having twins. Hmm

purplebella · 13/12/2016 22:01

Such a relief with the cheeses!

Bawbles · 13/12/2016 22:24

Sorry to hear your news Beam.

I was craving bacon/sausage but have moved onto black currant squash now. Can't finish a cup of tea and I usually drink half a dozen decaff teas a day.

I'm defo a carb fiend now too which is disappointing as I was eating really low carb previously and feeling good for it. I don't know if that's the pregnancy or I've just given myself permisssion

Seahawk80 · 13/12/2016 22:27

Rum how many weeks are you again? I was the same with the carbs and then this week scan be suddenly got a bit better. I'm still really off things like curry and fish but I'm eating a lot more veg and things like healthy soups and stews which is good as I was worried the baby was going to turn into a bread roll!!

Hulaballoo · 14/12/2016 07:30

Hi all, just found this topic area... I'm new here o/ I'm due by my dates 22nd July with DC 3. 😀 I have as two DDs , one 8 almost 9 and one 6. Nice to meet you all xx

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 14/12/2016 07:30

Is anybody else thinking about NCT classes? I've got a reservation that needs to be confirmed today but the cost (£200) is making me pause slightly. Has anybody here experienced them before and find them worth the money?

DeliciouslyHella · 14/12/2016 08:18

Thumbsup - I did NCT classes when I had DD and found them great. I mean, the classes themselves taught me nothing I couldn't have found out through reading or NHS sessions, but the friendship element was what I really went for. 15 months on, I am still great mates with my NCT group and we regularly get together. The support of my friends was invaluable in the early days - we really rallied around each other.

Spindelina · 14/12/2016 08:26

Yeah, I still hang out with my NCT friends four years on.

whyistherumgone · 14/12/2016 09:05

Seahawk I'm 9+1 - reassuring to know others have had the carbs addiction too, I'm normally quite light on carbs!

Welcome Hula and congrats :)

I haven't thought about NCT or anything like that at the moment, I want to plan but my brain won't let me yet. hopefully after scan I will be able to relax a bit.

How's everyone's symptoms today?

thumbsupforthesixbillion · 14/12/2016 09:10

I've gone ahead and booked at as DH is quite keen and we aren't sure what antenatal nhs classes will be available as we are moving area soon.

I keep thinking I should start to feel better soon (11+3 today) but then wake up feeling incredibly hangover, I can't wait for Christmas now so I can rest up and hopefully feel better.

LuciBee231015 · 14/12/2016 09:12

I'm totally with you all on the carbs addiction. At the moment I can't eat anything else go, so thinking arbs is better than nothing and I'm sure it won't last forever!

Having the worst sleeps this week, literally feel like I am awake the entire night.

I plan on booking nct, I have my place held and will confirm after my scan tomorrow.
