Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Miley that outfit is so cute!

I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I'm in a similar situation but because I'm quite introvert the isolation doesn't bother me often.
I'm going to miss my Christmas party by choice. I can't be bothered to buy a Christmas dress two sizes bigger than my normal size. (Got I hope I manage to shift some of this weight soon)
My OH basically looks after baby for half an hour, while I clean her bottles and I have to prompt him to do that Confused

Indi it's not at all unusual for babies to teeth early. It's also not unusual for teeth to shift under the gums causing discomfort but not cut through. Arya's have been doing the latter on and off since she was born.

Pink my blog is at www.grumpymum.co.uk Grin

Lillian Arya has never had a teething temperature although I know a lot of babies do. She just cries, chews her hands or anything put near her mouth and drools. The only reason I know it's definitely teething is because if I put teething gel on her upper gums she settles.

So OH went to his Christmas party last night, I text him at about 12:30 to say I'd finished work and was going to bed only to be told he couldn't get a taxi. I made loads of suggestions and said I didn't want to pick him up because I was so tired and he started talking about walking. I then got him a taxi only to be told he didn't have any money left Hmm so I ran around the house finding money messaged him back that the taxi was there and I had money only to be told he'd started walking and was too far away now... the venue is about 5-10 miles away so up I got, put Arya sleeping bag and all in the car and went to pick him up.
He's now got a hang over so I have to take DSS to his drumming lesson for him.
My Christmas present had better be bloody amazing Shock lol

Mileymoocow · 03/12/2016 09:07

indi I get out for coffee's a couple of times a week. I think I'm just being bratty about missing my Christmas do but there will be more, it's only 1 year I guess! OH is getting a bit better but he's still getting stressed and frustrated when Harrison cries which means that he won't settle for him because he can obviously sense it. Then I have to take Harrison off him and when he settles for me, OH gets in a mood and says H hates him Hmm I don't even bother trying to get him to do a night feed now - I get more sleep just doing it myself. OH asks 20 questions then I seethe for at least an hour when he puts H back to bed after an Oz of milk and an unchanged nappy. I go to breastfeeding group sometimes as well as a 1st time mums and baby play on Thursdays! I've had 1 hour away from H since he was born when I had my hair done!! I hope autumn feels better soon and she isn't getting too much bother from her teeth poor little poppet Sad

How adorable are his penguin slippers though Grin

Mileymoocow · 03/12/2016 09:13

lillian bold nipples are definitely something I have right now Grin no more work do's! One more lads do which I don't mind because us wives and girlfriends are having a night in as a couple of us have babies. I'm a little embarrassed but I think I missed the announcement of your little girls name Blush

IndiX · 03/12/2016 09:24

Potato He best get you a bloody fabulous Xmas present after that!! I'd be waking him up at the crack of dawn with a shitty nappy to change if that was me Grin

Miley yeah I completely get where you're coming from re: Xmas party. I would feel the same and I did have a go at DH when he had a night out a few weeks back. Have you got anyone around you that could take H for a couple of hours so you and OH can have a date night? Or so you can just have time to yourself. I adore A but I do need my own time sometimes even if it's just so me and DH can go to the cinema or I can go for dinner with a friend...it's important to feel like Miley and not just 'Harrison's mum', I think we forget about ourselves a lot. Guess it doesn't help if H is being fussy over the bottle though. Have you tried different bottles? Hope you're feeling better today and OH gives you a hand this weekend. Btw H is just too cute Grin

Going for lunch with a friend today and might start Xmas shoppingSmile. Me and DH have said we aren't going to do presents this year as we've booked a holiday in January and there's nothing we actually need but I still need to buy for my family..even though I imagine I'll end up just buying more clothes for Autumn Blush

Feefeefs · 03/12/2016 11:38

Thanks miley I do feel like we've been very lucky in a lot of ways and we've never had to worry about baby but I have to say I'm really looking forward to pregnancy being over. Sorry you've been feeling low, what are you doing for Christmas itself is there anything nice to look forward to and see you through this rough bit??

Offft potato sounds like OH has some making up to do this weekend!!

DH has to work 24 hours again today and 24 hours on Tuesday too, on top of normal Monday to Friday (9-5). He's the manager so if he can't get staff to do it he has to do it Hmm very annoying. He only took over managing his current place a month ago and the last person managed it very poorly and left everyone with loads of annual leave in December. He won't even get paid for these shifts, just TOIL which I don't think he really ever takes. Just a bit fed up with it want to spend some time with him before baby arrives!!! Anytime together at the moment has to be spent doing jobs around the house. Sadjust grumpy today I think

Janubub · 03/12/2016 16:47

Bought a changing mat but then wondered, do I need one for upstairs and one for downstairs...?

Feefs - get him to book off his TOIL now so it doesn't get wasted. DH and I are both working crazy hours at the moment, not sure how as we both typically work 8-6 Hmm Roll on Christmas!

IndiX · 03/12/2016 17:58

Jan I always come upstairs to change A's bum TBH but we do have a couple of thin foldable ones that are easy to travel with and take out and about.

Feef that's tough on DH and you. Hope he gets some time off soon and you can spend some time together before Baby comes.

I have a whingey, overtired child who has missed her late afternoon nap and is now just wanting to be fed and held. The joys....

Feefeefs · 03/12/2016 18:27

I bought one jan and got one as a present going to keep one downstairs at the start until I know how the spd heals as stairs are tricky! Hope he sleeps soon indi.

Need to get him to be stricter jan I think he's too focused on being a good manager as he hasn't been in the job long.

Janubub · 03/12/2016 18:48

I might just wait and see, then. It wasn't expensive, can go get another if needed.

Baby is increasingly full of beans and I can pick out limbs when it kicks now. Feels like ball-bearings rolling around in me. Is it wrong that, whilst it's lovely that its so happy in there, it's freaking me out?? It's a bit like Alien and it makes me feel weird Blush

Today's hormonal upset: don't have a name picked out. If anyone would like to share their "almost-choices" or names you love but couldn't use, suggestions greatly received.

Nevlet · 03/12/2016 18:54

Why can I not keep up on this thread at the moment?!

Sorry to those with useless OHs again. Mine is doing well at the moment but probably only because Bodhi has been sleeping through!

Jan do you know if you are having a boy or girl? I will happily share our other name choices.

Janubub · 03/12/2016 19:12

Nev - nope, baby's sex is unknown which means we have to choose a boy's name and a girl's name - and a middle name for both! Confused

I'm due in January and just feel like we should have chosen by now Sad. I know we might change our mind when we meet him/her but it would be nice to have a couple of "options" set up!

Feefeefs · 03/12/2016 20:37

Ooohhh Jan we had our names picked literally years ago so I've missed out on the trying to decide so very happy to share my hypothetical choices!!! I really like traditional names and irish(me) and scottish(DH) names though so might not be to everyone's taste!!

Boy

Angus (Gus)
James
Hamish
Rory
Owen

Girl

Isla
Helena
Sandra
Skye
Siobhan
Aibhe (Ava)

PotatosMum · 03/12/2016 21:57

Feef sorry you're struggling to get to get time with OH. No idea what you can do about it though Sad

No making up, in fact he nagged me about cleaning today. I think I should go on strike.

Indi I think he's changed 3 nappys since Arya was born and he a mile when he found poo in one Hmm

Hope baba calms down and goes to sleep.

Jan definitely get a changing mat for upstairs. It's too much of a faff to move it around... I have done a review of a changing mat on my blog... have I mentioned I have a blog? Wink

I wanted Glenn for a boy.

It's been a really long day, I'm shattered... writing this has taken the last bit of energy I had and as Arya is snoring on my lap I think it's time for bed

AudreyBradshaw · 04/12/2016 05:29

I'm exhausted. Dh thinks he's done his bit because he got up (at 7:30am) and held the baby so I could have a couple of hours. I'm sleeping (ha) downstairs on the couch because it's easier with the section wound and my Mam's on the other couch.

He's not changed a nappy yet because he's frightened of hurting him, can't work the car seat but won't be told how to do it. And is generally being woe is me because he found watching me in labour "really hard" ...you know when you think "if I started stabbing you, I wouldn't stop"

He has a headache, end of the world, he's definitely coming down with something apparently. The fact that I did 25 hours of back to back labour on two paracetamol (which I threw up) a warm bath and laughing gas ..then got transferred to hospital in an emergency ambulance with a very stuck baby...then had my epidural line removed accidentally so the pain all came back. ..then had an emergency c-section and was left numb from the waist down but bleeding like a stuck pig and expected to look after a newborn alone for 10 hours on no sleep and no dinner. No, labour was hard for him because "he had to watch me go through it" and he can "barely keep his eyes open" after only 8 hours of unintrrupted beauty sleep...fucking idiot.

L is cluster feeding between 1 am and 6am constantly. Won't let me put him down and I don't trust my dm or dh to not fall asleep holding him. Good job I love this AMAZINLY WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL little boy.

I'm falling asleep nodding off. Must. Fight. Steep.

stardrey welcome! Welcome! Please pull up a seat as the newest member of OHs fucking suck group! I'm sorry he's useless though, it really doesn't help you to adjust does it Sad my advice would be to nip it in the bud now if you can. Or kill him, get his life insurance and hire a live-in doula!

Happy Sunday all - hope it's a relaxing one.

Nevlet · 04/12/2016 08:19

Stardrey sorry he is being useless. Sounds like you had a really tough labour - well done!!!

Jan most our names we chose for the full and abbreviated version:
Boys

Woodford (Woody)
Denver (Denny)
Reef

Girls
Aspen (Penny)
Aurelia (Raley)
Piper (Pip)

Canters15 · 04/12/2016 09:57

Bloody hell stardrey, how have you not killed him already? Does he not get that you've just had major surgery and need a lot of looking after? Glad your mum is there at least, but doesn't make up for oh being shit.

I am so behind on this thread!! R is still absolutely wonderful, so much love for the little dude. We've been struggling a lot with cluster feeding, am trying to express more to top him up and have given the odd formula when I really need a break. No other news really!

Mileymoocow · 04/12/2016 10:35

stardrey, grab a seat and welcome to the useless OH club. Sorry he's being shit Sad my advice would be to nip it in the bud straight away or kill him and use his life insurance to pay for a live-in doula!

Hope everyone's having a nice relaxing Sunday!

Pinklily1 · 04/12/2016 11:26

Sorry to hear about the shit OH's ladies Flowers audrey, is your mum being helpful?

Men just don't get it do they?! I'm with miley in that you need to nip it in the bud with OH early on. Tell him you need help. Wait for a poo-splosion and supervise OH changing his nappy. Assuming it's all fine, there's no excuses for him not being able to do them alone in future. And tell him to man up and sort out the car seat Hmm

jan, for boys our names were Elijah or Jacob. For girls, we liked Phoebe and Claudia.

Hopefully not long now feefs!

Hope everyone is well. I'm struggling a bit to keep up with posting at the minute but I'm still reading and all is good with us.

Janubub · 04/12/2016 13:08

Thank you for all the name help!

Feef - those are some beautiful names but neither DH nor I have a Scottish/Irish connection Sad. I love Helena though going to add that to my list!

Lev - love the more usual names with a "classic" nickname. I'm stealing Piper for my list!

Pink - I think we have similar tastes in names! I LOVE Claudia!

It seems boys' names are harder than girls'...Hmm

Stardrey I am ShockShockShock and have bookmarked your post to show to my own DH for what NOT to do!

Feefeefs · 04/12/2016 15:46

Aurelia is gorgeous nev might have to add it to my fantasy list!

Thanks pink. Sorry to everyone having to listen to my grumps lately! Convinced this stage of pregnancy must just be to convince you that labour is a reasonable and desirable occurrence!!

Ha ha jan and sorry stardrey but DH was also shown your post as a how not to behave as can imagine him saying similar in an unaware kind of way! Hopefully it's the same for your DH he'll and he'll realise sharpish to get his act together

leoniethelioness · 04/12/2016 16:51

Really need to catch up but FYI Potato - m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1358194687558864&id=922716137773390

IndiX · 04/12/2016 18:52

So Autumn hasn't done a poo all day and it's worrying me for what's to come Confused any tips for getting her to do a poo? I've tried a tummy massage but only resulted in farts. She's been more unsettled today so I take it the injections are hitting her system now. Poor little bunged up babe.

Audrey just kill him. You can blame your hormones. And at least you have got the best from him in your beautiful little boyGrin I hope you're ok, men are strange creatures. Talk to him and ask him what his problem is and that you NEED help. You've just had major surgery and you have a newborn to look after, it's a lot to deal with. Also remember if you're feeling low your hormones will be up the wall right now so just know that this feeling will pass.

Jan we also had Aurelia on our list plus Arabella and Sienna. Boys names we like Sebastian and Roman.

Canters how is he taking the formula? Autumn is a greedy guts and is easily getting through 6/7oz in the evening. I've just bought some pre made Aptemil to try tonight to see if it keeps her fuller for longer and to save my poor nipples!

Nevlet · 04/12/2016 19:12

Indi no advice but sympathy on the poo front. Bodhi is going every 36-48 hours now but is FURIOUS from about 6 hours post poo. When they come they are foocking huge and smell like satans farts after cabbage.

IndiX · 04/12/2016 19:29

Hahahah nev..poor Bodhi and his poonamis! Autumn has just let out a MASSIVE wet fart so hoping that is** THE poo. I've sent DH to deal with it Grin
