Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Indi good work on sending him to deal haha! We have had lots of fart false alarms... and he is now asleep. I will send an SOS call to you all when it comes Shock

PotatosMum · 04/12/2016 20:17

Audrey so sorry you're struggling with OH. It does seem to be a trend though.

Leonie I can't follow that link but I assume it's the one to angry people in local news where people are slagging me off? If so, yup, I've seen it.
Can't believe so many keyboard warriors have taken time out of their day to call me entitled and a number of nasty names but there's nothing I can do but wait for it to blow over. On the bright side it should increase traffic to my blog.
Not going to say it doesn't make feel a bit odd but when I started blogging I knew that not everyone would be complimentary.
I am going to stay in for a week or so though just in case. You never know Sad

IndiX · 04/12/2016 20:31

Nev the fart was successful and then there was ANOTHER one. I reckon I'm going to be doing a good few nappy changes before bed! Hope Bodhi gets a visit from the poo fairy Grin

Potato I haven't read the article yet or seen people's comments but please ignore keyboard warriors. I just think they are absolute sad acts that feel the need to put other people down from behind a computer screen. My DH is quite well known where we live because of his job and he gets all sorts of dickheads people slagging him off and even saying things to me. Please let it go over your head, also I find the people who say all this online would never have the bollocks to say it to your face.

IrregularCommentary · 04/12/2016 20:38

Oh Potato, that's crap. Don't feel like you need to stay in, they're barely keyboard warriors, they're just twats. Very few reasonable people add to the comments on these things.

Sorry for those with ohs being rubbish. My dh is great apart from when she's crying inconsolably. Then he absolutely can't cope with her and completely shuts down. It's not much fun, especially as that's just the time I'd like some extra support with her rather than being left on my own to deal with her.

He has at least stopped telling me about his being tired when she's had a bad night, given that I let him sleep in a different room so he can sleep through it while I spend hours pacing to try and calm her down Hmm

Canters15 · 04/12/2016 20:41

indi it's possible I have the greediest little boy ever, but he guzzled the formula- have to admit part of me hoped he'd reject it as clear evidence that mummy milk is superior!! It's the pre made aptamil we're using too, he's just had one for the last two nights. It didn't magically make him sleep for much longer but it was lovely to skip a feed and have more rest.

Potato I can't believe people are getting so worked up they're calling you names! Bloody hell!

Feeling quite pleased with myself as cracked the sling today. It's a stretchy wrap so felt a bit complicated at first but R loves it! Next challenge is how to breastfeed in it as will free me up so much if I can do that.

LisaTheSimpson · 04/12/2016 20:50

Agree with you, Potato, and the others. Some people have nothing better to do wth their time and that's very sad. Also, the way I tend to think about these kinds of things is that it says a lot more about them than it does about you.

Stardrey - glad you're ok, but sorry you're not getting much help. Your birth experience sounds pretty traumatic and I hope it's not been too difficult to deal with. (I was useless - every time I thought about the birth for the ten days or so afterwards J burst into tears). Glad to hear L is doing well.

Indi and Nev - Q has done seven poos today, and none of them small. What on earth am I feeding this child?? She usually does 4-5 each day, but tend to be two biggish ones and the others small.

Also - I saw something when I was pregnant about the incredible amount of time parents spend discussing their child's poos. Clearly very true! Grin

Think I'm lucky with my OH. When he's here he pretty much insists on doing the nappy changes. He feels a bit left out with me bfing and being on mat leave, so I think he takes it as a chance to partly not make me do it all, and partly to spend time with her. I've recently made bath time a daddy-daughter thing. I get it all set up, and help afterwards, but I let OH do it. He really enjoys it, even though she often screams as she's not a bath fan just yet.

Where I get annoyed is when he's out for lots of evenings, and I feel a bit lonely and frustrated doing it all by myself. Some weeks he can be busy 3-4 evenings (usually work stuff), and I really feel the extra tiredness after the week, as we'll have barely seen him.

LisaTheSimpson · 04/12/2016 20:52

Canters - great work with the sling! It feels pretty simple now, but at first it felt very complicated and difficult for me. It took me a while to want to work at it and be patient.

No idea how to feed in it, however. If you work it out, please let me know! That would make feeding on the go much easier!

IndiX · 04/12/2016 20:55

Canters that's so funny because Autumn is guzzling down the formula as we speak and I've just said to DH that I feel slightly threatened and jealous because she likes it! I'm sure our babies love mummy milk the best though Wink telling myself this before I get upset haha

Feefeefs · 04/12/2016 20:56

I can't see the link potato but ignore them! And like you say the direction to your blog is much more positive!!

marmitecheesetoast · 04/12/2016 22:05

Finally checking in after a manic few days trying to get as much done on the kitchen as possible, phew. We finally seem to have broken the back of it now but it feels like slow progress!

Thanks for all the supportive comments, now we have had time to digest the news a bit feeling a bit more positive, DH is on really good notice period so even if he is made redundant in the first wave, the notice pay will cover us well into the new year. He's joking that maybe he'll be on paid gardening leave when the baby arrives now which would work out quite nicely! It is fairly crap though, he really likes working there and we could just do without all the upheaval and change - there's enough change coming up as it is!

Sorry to hear about the rubbish OHs, can't believe the stunt yours pulled the other night potato and sorry particularly to hear yours is being so crappy audrey especially after what sounds like a fairly traumatic birth experience. Hope you can nip it in the bud.

Ignore the horrible social media comments potato some people just can't stop themselves feeling the need to write petty negative things to make themselves feel good.

How was the scan fishy?

In other news here found out that PiL are going abroad for 4 weeks 3 days after the due date Hmm tbf it was booked before they knew we were expecting but it could very well be that baby hasn't made an appearance before they leave! Just seems a bit sad that they'll miss out on those first few weeks, especially with them being nearby and my parents 5 hours drive away. Ah well no point worrying about it.
We're off on our 'babymoon' tomorrow and can't wait - finally some down time together! Smile

Hope everyone else is well and that the sore nipples and poonamis aren't too bad this evening!!

Feefeefs · 04/12/2016 23:38

Have a lovely time on your babymoon marmite

Nevlet · 05/12/2016 08:16

Enjoy your holiday marmite!

Indi the poo just came. More was constantly coming out while i was trying to clean him up/contain the mess. Was like a mr wippy machine. Required 3 nappy bags and found some on my elbow washing hands/arms after. He looks so pleased with himself now!

He slept 10.30 till 7.20 last night! We seem to be getting alot of nights where he lasts till 6 now.

Pinklily1 · 05/12/2016 08:37

nev, I just choked on my cup of tea (lukewarm, obviously!) at the Mr Whipey comment! I do like how babies look so pleased with themselves after a poo!

Have a lovely holiday marmite! It's so nice to get away and spend some decent time together before baby comes.

Ignore the people commenting on the article potato. They clearly have nothing better to do. Also, I would be furious if my OH did what yours did the other day with his night out Hmm

We have 12 week jabs today, not looking forward to that at all.

Does anyone feel like it's crazy how fast time is going by? Scary that it's almost 2017!

Nevlet · 05/12/2016 08:50

Pink there is no other way to describe it. It just kept coming and coming!

So just heard a crash in the kitchen... went in expecting to see the xmas tree had fallen over. A section of tiles has fallen off the wall and you can see a good few more rows are really loose. No idea how thats happened the kitchen was tiled almost 3 years ago!

PotatosMum · 05/12/2016 09:35

Sorry ladies I'm about to have a me, me, me post.

I'm feeling really shitty over the drama yesterday. I know it will blow over but I'm afraid to leave the house in case I'm recognised and I'm finding it impossible to write because every time I try the nasty comments start floating through my head. I'm so angry that Arya's name was mentioned and that people are even making nasty comments about her and it's clear that the whole point of my complaint was missed.
I can't believe these people have taken something I was proud of and turned it into something I'm ashamed of Sad

IrregularCommentary · 05/12/2016 09:44

Oh Potato, you poor love. Please please don't let them do this to you. Online comments are so throwaway. Most people only read the headline and comment based on that alone. The chances of any of them being engaged enough with what they wrote to recognise you are so so slim. The chances of anyone saying anything irl are even slimmer.

You're absolutely right in your argument against Costa and they've even said that themselves. You've done nothing wrong and anyone with half a brain (which doesn't often include Facebook commenters) would agree xx

Janubub · 05/12/2016 19:01

Potato - those people won't have given their unkind comments a second thought and nor should you! Go enjoy your days with your baby!

AudreyBradshaw · 05/12/2016 19:49

In personal news, he will survive, he has as if by magic turned into the dh I knew he would be! Chief pot and bottle wash and doing all the dinners and generally looking after me like an absolute champ. He's so in love with L it's awesome to see. Thank goodness!

potato don't let the bastards get you down, silly keyboard warriors with unkindness is all they can manage, and the majority clearly have no comprehensive skills either or they didn't read your piece at all as they've all missed the point, their opinions don't matter. Today's news is tomorrow's chip paper mate. Flowers

Thanks lovelies. I'm back to normal now and pretty much over it. It's just not nice to have so many people saying so many nasty things about you (and Arya). As it happens I have been contacted by s couple of people who saw the article on that spoof FB page and were horrified at the reaction but didn't want to post on there as they didn't want to become targets.

Audrey yay for OH pulling his weight.

Nev that's terrible! Could some water have got behind them and softened the plaster?

Pink how did the jabs go?

Marmite by the sound of your pil it's not a bad thing they're going away!

How many thread babies are at the rolling over stage? Arya seems to be having a little trouble with it... actually she seems to be completely unbothered about trying. She only managed to lift her head while on her front without a pillow yesterday.

Evergreen17 · 06/12/2016 08:34

Sorry potato I didnt see the article and the link doesnt work for me but I will say people are very "brave" typing mean things on the internet
30 weeks here and jealous of all pf you that have bubbas to play with.
This pregnancy feels long Sad so tired

Mileymoocow · 06/12/2016 08:35

potato Harrison tries from front to back but fails miserably but I think it's because he hates tummy time. Please don't stress out by comparing - I sid this with Harrison as he seemed to be later than others smiling (I think he was 7 or 8 weeks when he properly smiled) and I've vowed to never compare him again as it started worrying me. Arya will be doing fab things that others don't Grin

I'm in complete shock. Harrison slept from 10 til half 3 then stayed up til 5 then just woke up again now. My boobs are I'm agony but I'm so thankful for sleep. I did get the "oh he slept 5 and a half hours? You must have caught up on your sleep!" off OH Hmm

audrey glad DH has pulled his finger out Grin

pink how was E with her jabs? I have Harrison's on Thursday and I could cry thinking about them

LisaTheSimpson · 06/12/2016 09:43

Miley - Quinn has only done five hours twice now, and each time I was so unprepared for it that I kept waking up every half hour from three hours, to see if she was awake yet. Think I got a worse night sleep than when she does three hours!

Bfing mums - who is feeding to sleep? And has anyone weaned them off feeding to sleep?

We do it, and I'm ok with it, but my apps and books are starting to tell me I should be trying to help her go off to sleep by herself (she's almost ten weeks). I thought it would be a bit early, but I've started to think about it and would be grateful for thoughts.

Nevlet · 06/12/2016 10:24

Potato no the plaster behind in dry. It looks like the adhesive dried to the tiles but not the plaster. Its strange as they have been up nearly 3 years! This morning the pictures in the hallway had fallen off the wall. Maybe its a poltergeist!

I am afraid Bodhi regularly sleeps 10.30-6am now. Yesterday he slept till 7.30! Think its because he is such a greedy guts all day he isn't hungry overnight.

He loves tummy time and rolls front to back and almost back to front now too. He tries so hard to get up and crawl that sometimes he gets very frustrated that he can't and will throw a wobble.

Today is being spent editting our department christmas video. Normally I organise and film it and DP does the edit as he is a whizz at stuff like that and does all the sound lighting tech etc for the christmas show at school. I said I would give the edit a go this year as I am off work. Its looking good so far but not sure anything will beat the kids reaction to last years masterpiece!

Feefeefs · 06/12/2016 11:35

Thanks goodness Audrey! Glad he's coppped on!

With you there ever! Cannot wait to get this baby out. Tried DTD last night, have pineapples ready, eating curries and dates. Can't really go a long walk which is frustrating!! But on the ball for a few hours a day!! Had one (ONE) contraction last night and ongoing achiness but nothing exciting!!

IndiX · 06/12/2016 13:44

Autumn has oral thrush which explains my extremely painful boobs/ nipples. She has been screeching on and off since 9.30am. She slept well last night (10-5,5.30-9.00) but has been so upset. It's also say 5 after her jabs and the nurse did say days 4/5 will be bad. PLUS wonder weeks says it's a stormy week for leap no.2....so yeah lots of tantrums and fussiness all round. I just want her to feel better and be back to herself. And also for my boobs to feel better and not make me cry in pain every time she latches.

Uurghh just one of those days I guessSad
