Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! From morning sickness in the first trimester to the third trimester struggle of getting out of bed ( "walrus-ing"in our house), to actual real babies who are growing so fast! Discussion on the merits of sleepyhead and Ewan the dream sheep.

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Audrey glad you spoke to your midwife Smile

Miley poor Harrison. Glad he's feeling a bit better now.

Jam, Lovely welcome back Grin

Marmite thanks for the comment about my blog Grin
I started to feel movement around the stage you are but it was very, very subtle and easy to mistake.

Aww Soda poor babe and poor you Sad

Finally finished the wall sticker in the nursery and started Arya's advent calendar. Also helped hang doors on the office and raked up the biggest leaf pile I've ever seen Confused
I'm also on day two of my diet, so far all is going well.

I'm on day 10, Potato. I want to lose 3 stone before I return to work. Must be healthy next (!) pregnancy.

Sodasoda · 10/11/2016 22:07

Alexa slept most of the afternoon after her injections but has been awake since 6 and has just been crying hysterically and then dropping off for a few minutes before resuming hysterical crying again. It's been awful Sad

Hopefully she'll eventually go to sleep and she'll feel better tomorrow ready to meet bunch and Atticus! Grin

BunchOfBobs · 10/11/2016 23:46

Potato that looks amazing, you must be so pleased.

Welcome back jam, lovely.

Soda have you been giving Alexa calpol every 4-6 hours? You're allowed to give 3 doses in the 24 hours afterwards. I did find after the first dose wore off it took a while
To calm little man down then he slept and was fine the next day. I also found his nappy (cloth) seemed to rub on the jab site which wasn't helping. I hope she's feeling better for tomorrow but let me know if she's not up to it.

I've made Atticus and I matching Gryffindor themed hats for Saturdays Harry Potter Studios tour. I am too excited. Also he appears to have a very flaky scalp and I can't help but brush it to get the flakes out. It's flaky not scaly and white not cradle cappish at all. Poor fella.

PotatosMum · 11/11/2016 07:59

Bunch those hard are amazing! Grin

I'm conflicted about the tree, it looks good but I ordered a really expensive good quality one and received a cheap Chinese knock off so I'm also a little disappointed that it doesn't look as good as it should have.

Soda hope Alexa feels better soon.

So, Arya is 12 weeks today Shock where has the time gone?!
She slept from 10pm to 7 am las night Grin and is back to sleep on me now she's had her bottle Smile
She's actually learnt to hold her Sophie but she's still in no hurry to crawl or roll over Confused

Nevlet · 11/11/2016 08:59

Bunch Bodhi has a similiar flaky scalp his is more under all his thick hair - the front of his head where it is thinner is more cradle cap like. I am picking big flakes out that are just in his hair (as in not attached to his head). Maybe its a hairy baby thing? They have both had a lot of hair since birth... miley is harrison like this too? As our other hairy boy?

Potato time is going so fast for all the babies! Glad she has learnt to hold her giraffe how cute. Bodhi shows no signs of sleeping through the night anytime soon... he wakes up at 3.10 every night for nappy change and often as much as 6/7 oz of milk so I think he is genuinely hungry not just having a bit out of habit.

Haven't posted about Bodhi's ongoing hospital appointments after his kidney infection and sepsis since he was admitted a couple of months ago. He has finally had all his tests completed by this week. Nuclear catheter scan showed normal bladder function and no reflux towards kidneys and is off antibiotics after 8 weeks on them poor lad. Ultrasound yesterday showed his right kidney has returned to a normal size. We have to go back for a blood test today and in the spring they are doing another test where he will be on a nuclear IV and being scanned to look for scarring and permenant damage to his kidneys but consultant doesn't think they will find anything now that they have returned to normal on the ultrasound. He will still be monitored for most his childhood to check his right kidney grows at the same pace as the left and that no problems show up down the line BUT I finally feel like we are coming to the end of this horrible journey waiting to find out if there would be any lasting problems from him being so sick. Sorry for the long ramble!

Mileymoocow · 11/11/2016 09:37

bunch oh my god!!!! Amazing hats! Hope you have a brilliant time Grin what are you using to wash little man's hair? We used Johnson top to toe which gave Harrison flaky scalp, too. More dandruff than cradle cap! We've switched to burts bee's shampoo which has cleared it up.

potato lovely wall! I love it. I'm insanely jealous Arya seems to have the sleep thing down, any tips greatly appreciated! I'm hallucinating I'm so exhausted - Harrison is still making his loud noises and it's keeping me up with those as well as sleeping 8-10.30, 11-1.30, then after falling asleep was up again at 3.30, 4.45 and I gave in and got up at just after 6! Think I'll follow in pinks shoes and try him on his nursery tonight - I don't have any energy at all today.

Harrison is like velcro baby today, too. I've popped him on his sling just so I can get breakfast and he's flat out so I'm going to make the most of it and do chores. I can't put him down to nap Sad

Oh soda Sad hopefully she will be better today. It's so awful, you have my sympathy.

BunchOfBobs · 11/11/2016 10:14

Nev that's amazing news. So glad to hear his kidneys are behaving. I think it is cradlecap and now feeel guilty for all the brushing yesterday. Must.stop.picking!!

Miley I use good bubble but I'll try butts bees, I was thinking of trying Childs farm too. Thing is I barely bath him as he gets dry skin.

Thanks for the hat comments. I love them. We're officially enroute and Atticus is asleep on my lap. DH trying to work next to us which is quite amusing to see. He apparently gets quite huffy at other passengers brushing past him Grin

BunchOfBobs · 11/11/2016 10:15

Potato if it's not the wualify you paid for complain. PayPal are amazing at refunding if things aren't as advertised. It does look lovely though.
Yay on Arya. Atticus is no where near movement. Lazy boy through and through Grin

Sodasoda · 11/11/2016 10:17

Nev great news about bodhi. It must have been so traumatic for you both. It's really great that they've caught things so young though- I was diagnosed with kidney reflux aged 7 and by that time I had permanent scarring - hence the frequent kidney infections.

We had a pretty awful night with Alexa. She went down about 11.30 after wailing all evening but woke up at. 3.30 and refused to sleep anywhere but on us. I was up with her til 5.45 and then DH took over til he had to go to work. She seems more like her usual self today though and is napping in the sleepyhead after a good feed. Her legs are all swollen where the jabs went in bless her Sad

Alexa also has a flaky scalp and very dry skin near her eyebrows. And she's bald Smile

Miley Alexa also wakes in the night. What's frustrating is there's no real pattern to it. Its also really hard to get her to go back down on her own again after a feed so I'll often be up for an hour and a half with her.

Bunch we'll see you later - I'll be the one with the black eye circles Wink

Pinklily1 · 11/11/2016 10:49

Hi ladies

nev, that's great news. Hope all continues to go well.

bunch, those hats are fab! I hope you and soda have a great time today.

soda, sorry to hear you had a tough night. I hope the swelling goes down soon. Evelyn still has a big bruise on her leg from her injections, and she had them on Monday.

We had a great run of Evelyn sleeping through the night, but last night I didn't get more than an hours sleep at a time. She woke crying at times, but other times she was just chattering to herself in her sleep! I think she is getting her first cold, so that may have something to do with it.

miley, I did chuckle at your OH's response to the lady in m&s!!

Re flaky skin, Evelyn had it on her forehead and the doctor prescribed Avveno, which has really helped. She has developed a flaky scalp over the past few days, so I might try switching from Johnsons to something else.

What do people put babies in whilst you are in the house? At the minute we are going with a long sleeved vest and then a sleep suit. It's between 18-20 degrees in the house usually. I'm always cold though so I panic that if I'm cold she must be too!

Hi jam, I remember you. Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Pleased all is going well, and for you to lovely.

marmite, I started to feel movement at about 19 weeks.

potato, the wall sticker looks great. I agree with bunch though, if you aren't happy, try and get your money back.

Sodasoda · 11/11/2016 11:33

Thanks pink. The injections are brutal aren't they?

We have the heating on and it's 18-20 in our house too. I dress Alexa in a vest and long sleeved body suit but I've started putting a cardigan on over the top as well. I wear 2 layers in the house so I think the rule is that they wear an extra layer to you.

marmitecheesetoast · 11/11/2016 12:17

That sounds stressful Fishy great to hear all went well though at the 12 week scan, isn't it an amazing feeling?! Did you get a good picture?

Those hats are adorable Bunch! You two will look so cute!

Happy 12 weeks to Ayra Potato!

Great news about Bodhi Nev what a relief. Fingers crossed all continues well for the wee man.

I'm 18 weeks today and Pip is apparently now the size of a croissant Grin mmm....

Canters15 · 11/11/2016 12:29

bunch those hats are amazing! Love how good at crafts you are!

potato the tree looks fab. Sorry you're not as happy with it as you thought you would be, sounds very annoying.

soda poor little Alexa. Sorry it's been so rough.

nev delighted bodhi's kidneys are looking good!

I had my pre op assessment this morning. All very positive, there are just three of us and they will get us all done on Monday morning, plus there's a separate emergency list so chance of being bumped is small. Feeling a little nervous but mainly excited to meet my boy!

IndiX · 11/11/2016 12:32

Hi ladies,
I seen to only have time to post when expressing during Autumn's naps.

Hope you both have a lovely day bunch & soda, it must feel like a blind date Grin bunch those hats are so cute!!

I can't believe Arya is 12 weeks potato that has flown by. Well done on the sleeping through btw, I'm sure she'll be doing 7-7 in no time.

Nev I'm so happy for you, that's great news about Bodhi. I bet you're over the moon.

I'm now so scared for Autumn's injections, they're on December 1st so I've got a few weeks to mentally prepare.

Marmite I felt movement at 18 weeks and it felt like a piece of popcorn popping at the lower left of my tummy Smile

Soda/miley sorry about the tough night last night. I tried a dream feed for the first time last night and she slept so well. I put her in bed at 8.30 then at 10.30 while she was still asleep I changed her bum quickly ( this was risky business as she usually goes mad having her nappy changed straight from waking up) then we put her back in her sleepyhead and I propped her upper body up with my arm as DH fed her with a bottle of expressed milk, she ate about 4.5/5 oz. I then put her back down and gave her her dummy and she slept through til 4.30! She was half asleep with her eyes closed through out the whole process. Once she woke at 4.30 I fed and changed her and she slept again from 5.30-8.30. It was the best night we'd had in a while!

No news here. I went to baby massage yesterday but actually only managed to do a tiny bit of the massage as Autumn was asleep to begin with then when she woke up and I changed her she shit ALL over meBlush she then had a feed, was sick in my hair and down my clothes and then decided she was ready for a massage Hmm she seemed very pleased with herself! It was nice to see the other mums again though even if I was absolutely covered in bodily fluids!

My friend is staying tonight until Sunday, I'm hoping it doesn't unsettle Autumn again and she doesn't turn in to mini devil child like last week.
Hope everyone else is doing well xx

AudreyBradshaw · 11/11/2016 12:38

Reading still, drained as empty balls. Carpal tunnel is emerging in my left hand too so I'm a bit of a liability now! I'm like one of those fairground grabber machines! Pondering doing a thread about it.

Love the hats bunch and the nursery potat hoping all babies are settling and letting mammies have some rest. Much love to preggo's.

jam welcome back mate! Was wondering where you were up to! (It's Starky)

Update on dh : we are going to press charges against the person claiming dh assaulted him. Hopefully it will become tit for tat and be dropped, but I'm not hopeful about anything to do with it anymore. I can't speculate because it's consuming my brain activity. The complainant thought (and articulated that he thought ) that dh was an immigrant, along the lines of "polish cunt" so we may be able to push that point as potentially hate aggravated sort of thing. Not sure where we will stand on SIA badge/new job. But, could have done without the stress at 38 weeks pregnant Grin still, such is life. What will be, will be. One day we'll hopefully look back on this and not be horrified smile.

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 11/11/2016 14:05

Sorry nev, I missed your post! Harrisons scalp is loads better now I've stopped using Johnsons! Great update on bodhi Grin

I have a baby that refuses to nap! He's down for 20 mins at the most then wide awake again. I have to put him down, too - he never chosen to sleep on his own unless he's cuddled in. I switched off the TV, put him in his sleepy head and left the room for 5 minutes so hoping when I go back he's starting to drift off. He seems to be going through an incredibly difficult period. Not sure wether it's his ear infection or just because he's hit 8 weeks and this is what happens!

Really glad Autumn had a good night! Must look into dream feed though I fear I'd I fed Harrison without burping him he'd suffer with wind Sad I think I just have to keep reminding myself it's not forever! It's tough because I don't have OH helping out during the night at all so I feel like I'm doing 24 hour shifts constantly.

God I feel like such a whinge today! Blush

Our house is set to stay at 22 degrees, Harrison is is a vest and leggings/long sleeved top. He's quite a hot baby so I don't tend to put much else on him but will drape a cellular over him if he's napping which is never and often do the touch test

Feefeefs · 11/11/2016 14:16

Hope you're feeling better soon Lillian.

Your not self centred stardrey just in need of a little self care at a tough time. Sounds all is very positive with the baby.

Poor Harrison miley hope he's starting to feel better now. His weight gain sounds brilliant.

I was the same as miley marmite movement around 18 weeks but not that convincing!!

I've bought lots of colourful stuff for vanilla baby Jan, try polan o pret lovely stuff. I haven't actually bought anything white although others have bought me white stuff!!

Lovely nursery potato!!

Excellent kidney news nevlet.

Eeeek that's exciting canters.

I'm getting so frustrated with myself, managed to have a really good day yesterday went and got my hair and nails done then went with DH and got hospital bag stuff. Now today I'm floored and sore again and struggling to mobilise. There's still so much to do in the house and it's really stressing me out that things won't be ready for the baby and that I don't feel ready so much left to do and I'm so useless, I feel so hard on DH as well as soon as he gets in the door I jump on him to help with this and that

LovelyFishy · 11/11/2016 14:26

Potato I love the wall sticker, it's so pretty!

Canters so exciting that everything's on track to meet your baby!

Bunch the hats are amazing! I'm meant to be learning how to knit before baby arrives, I need to get cracking!

Indi glad you had a good time even with all the body fluids!

Nev glad Bodhi's kidneys seem to be all fine now.

Soda poor Alexa with her swollen legs after the jabs, are they getting better yet?

Miley glad Harrison managed to put on weight even after being off his food for a few days!

Audrey so sorry to hear about the massive pile of poop with the guy/CPS. Glad you're bullet proof though! Hands sounds like interesting times, is it now a fully validated excuse to be waited on all the time?

Jam hello again, I remember you from ttc! Can't believe you've nearly got a baby already!

Marmite my DH was very excited after the scan. I am now but it took several days to sink in after I'd sort of been preparing myself for the worst.

Sorry for anyone I missed, hope everyone's doing good!

Mileymoocow · 11/11/2016 14:50

feef don't be hard on yourself! As long as you have baby's crib/moses basket sorted and bottles if you're formula feeding as well as a couple of outfits, muslins and nappies, you're pretty much ok for the first few days! Try not to worry Smile

We have a nap, everyone! It took me leaving the room and letting him settle himself, but we did it! And for 45 minutes! He's managed to shuffle down his sleepy head though...

Thread 13. TTC #1 Grads. Some of us still remember that thing called "a full nights sleep" for most, it's a mere memory.
PotatosMum · 11/11/2016 15:14

Nev good that things with Bodhi's kidneys seem to be under control. Arya still usually wakes around 3am but like Bodhi's, only if she's hungry.

Miley I honestly think Arya's sleeping is down to routine. We have a strict one, right down to what I wear when I give her her last feed and we've done it since she was born so she knows that she's meant to sleep.

Bunch it was from Amazon so I can't claim through PayPal. I'm claiming through Amazon but it's more tricky than with PayPal.

Pink Arya is usually just in a sleep suit and a blanket if it gets nippy. Today she's in her first Christmas jumper Grin

Happy 18 weeks Marmite

Canters how exciting!!!

Indi I'm sorry but your massage story is hysterical. I'm sure the other mums didn't batter an eyelid.

Audrey hope things with your OH get sorted. Such bad timing.

Feef forget about the house, you soon won't have enough time to care! Just relax and try not to sweat the small stuff.

My 12 week old appears to have regressed to wanting to sleep all the time. She's wide awake in the morning and comes to bed to play for a bit then the rest of the day it nappy change, food, five minutes play and sleep... rinse and repeat. Not that I'm complaining!!! Grin

Thread 13. TTC #1 Grads. Some of us still remember that thing called "a full nights sleep" for most, it's a mere memory.
IndiX · 11/11/2016 15:40

Miley I had the same from Autumn for a few days. It's a nightmare because they then become overtired and then they get whingey. Good job on getting him down for 45mins though!! Autumn was down for 3 hours this morning while I cleaned the house but she's just taken an hour to settle back down for her afternoon nap. I think 1.5-2hours is good for her so she doesn't mess up the rest of the day. Oh and apparently with the dream feed they don't need burping because they are half asleep so won't be gulping as much therefore not taking in as much air. I was worried about the wind too but she was fine! People also say not to change them unless it's poo but I don't like the idea of her sleeping in a wet nappy..each to their own though.

Pink I had Autumn in just a sleepsuit and blankets in the house but the last few days the temp has dropped so I've been putting her in a vest and sleepsuit. I think she's quite a warm baby.

Audrey I really hope this is resolved for you and DH soon. What a bloody nightmare. But you're doing so so well and keep positive, hopefully this will all be a distant memory soon.

Potato/miley what gorgeous little babas you have made.

Forgot to say before but Autumn started doing proper smiles the last few days. She's now just over 5 weeks and this morning she was giving me the most lovely big gummy smile. The feeling she gives me is unexplainable, it's amazing how much you can love this tiny little human who keeps you up at night and sick and shits on youGrin

Thread 13. TTC #1 Grads. Some of us still remember that thing called "a full nights sleep" for most, it's a mere memory.
BunchOfBobs · 11/11/2016 22:10

Miley the sleeping is completely normal for breastfed babies. It metabolises much faster so they need feeding more often. Sleeping through will come, just try to get as much rest as possible. Is it worth heading to bed earlier for you to get some sleep? Atticus still wakes every 2-3 hours after an initial 3-4hour run.

It was lovely meeting Soda and Alexa today. Definitely felt like a blind date Pink Wink and I was late too eek!

Atticus' first trip to London is rather hilarious reaction wise. I have selfies outside Westminster Abbey. Houses of Parliament/Big Ben and he's sparkoed throughout. Jamie's Italian however utterly blew his tiny mind Grin. He usually sleeps from about 6 to9/10 and we've only just got him down since being awake from 5ish, he was so overtired bless him.

Janubub · 12/11/2016 12:10

Love the photos of all your beautiful babies Grin

DH is out with his mates today so enjoying some quiet time, shopping for prams online. Hope everyone else is having a restful Saturday (or as restful as possible with a new baby!).

AudreyBradshaw · 12/11/2016 12:31

Beautiful babies! Loving seeing how they are all growing! It's awesome!
Dh is nesting, the house is spotless it's nervous energy Grin I'm less nesty, more hibernatey, it's bloody cold! I haven't been cold since April! Just doing lots of prayer that all the mess (figurative and literal) is cleared away swiftly and without issue.

What pram are you thinking of getting jan ?
Both hands are now numb. Frustrating as anything!
