Still in slow labour. Hoping it's not another 57 hour labour.

They aren't stopping the labour, I'm on monitoring and they are just letting me go ahead Sad absolutely terrified Sad

Popskipiekin · 25/10/2016 14:39

Oh queen that is so tough for you! You've discussed why they think it's better/safer for you to go ahead? Thinking of you! Let us know how you're doing.

Popskipiekin · 25/10/2016 14:41

stripey I am crying about some ludicrous things recently. Always thought I was pretty robust and didn't have this last pregnancy. Just accepting as par for the new course!

queenc81 · 25/10/2016 14:44

They've been wanting to induce me for a few weeks now, but I've refused, so I think they are just glad I've gone into labour.

Everything is looking fine so far, just wish it would speed up without any intervention so I just know she's ok when she comes out. X

DartmoorDoughnut · 25/10/2016 14:55

Oh queen that sounds tough, hope everything goes smoothly Flowers

I will get the Out n About double in the summer probably, have a Phil & Teds now but don't want to get a second chair as will lose the shopping basket then and it's basically how I do our shop as can never be bothered to take the car!

stripeyorangesocks71 · 25/10/2016 15:04

Queen I hope everything goes well for you - keep us updated!

Popski tears wouldn't stop this morning and I couldn't seem to put a finger on why I was even upset! Felt a bit silly and just wanted a huge cuddle from my other half. He felt like he'd done something wrong and I felt bad! I did reassure him though.

Londonmamabychance · 25/10/2016 16:29

Queen keeping fingers crossed for you that the labour progresses quickly! how exciting and scary at the same time.

Am curious to find out the weight restrictions on the Out n about. Was really thrown that the guy at John lewis said that no other buggy than the Icandy double (which is v expensive) takes a kid over 15 kg! will look into it.

"Stubble and grape* that pain is the worst, am terrified the baby is engaging early, still got three weeks to go at work and not ready at all for the baby! keeping fingers crossed he stays put until around due date. Live on the fifth floor and our lift has been out of function for coming on three weeks, and in the last week DD (2) seems to be going through a rough patch at nursery and in the worst mood when I pick her up, so refuses to walk up the stairs, so I have to carry her. And shes's 13 kilos! the pain intensified after the carrying yesterday.

grape and stripey and probably everyone yes, I am feeling so knackered ALL the time. I went to bed at 9.30pm last night and yet didn't fall asleep till 12.30!Angry

daisychain07 · 25/10/2016 18:16

I can't believe so many babies are already being born! Good look queenie!

I've been having pains for last couple of days and had what the doctor and midwife think is a show this morning. Glad I'm in half term this week so feel a bit more organised, still not ready though!!x

KitKat1985 · 25/10/2016 19:03

Oh queen I'm sorry you're scared. It sounds as though the medics are confident though that it's for the best. I hope it's not a long labour again for you.

Daisychain I'm not trying to freak you out but after my show appeared last pregnancy, I had a baby in my arms a few hours later! They're not necessarily a sign of imminent labour though, but I'd leave your hospital bags out just in case.

In lighter news I picked DD up from nursery this evening and one of the managers was asking when I was due etc, (which I assumed was just small talk), but then she said it's a nursery tradition that the youngest sibling of the children in DD's nursery group gets asked to be Jesus in the nursery production in mid-December, so asked if they could have the baby as Jesus this year! I have said yes, although have come home and am contemplated what on earth I've just agreed to having a (probably not much more than 2-3 week old baby) signed up for the nursery production this year! Confused It does at least though solve the issue of having to find a babysitter whilst we watch DD in the nursery production! Lol!

daisychain07 · 25/10/2016 19:14

Aw kitkat, baby will be the star of the show!!!! What ever happened to using a doll for Jesus?

I am slightly concerned that labour could come soon, hadn't packed anything for hospital so I have thrown some things in a bag just in case!! I have been told to take some paracetamol and see how things go. Keeping my legs crossed x

SolomanDaisy · 25/10/2016 19:26

I hope it's going well queen. It's great that you got the steroids, I didn't have time for anything so it's a real bonus for your baby. Our DD is doing well though, I'm producing enough milk for her and we've even had a try at breastfeeding!

Someone asked about c section recovery. I've two pretty extreme examples to compare (home birth with only gas and air and a crash c section under general anaesthetic), but c section definitely isn't the easy recovery option! I was quite shocked by the impact.

Nojo82 · 25/10/2016 20:36

Glad everything is going well solomon

Ive finally got round to buying things for my hospital bag. Freaked myself out worrying that baby would come and ive nothing in my bag. Really feel as though im about to give birth. Can barely walk and so much pressure. 31+2..

SouthDownsSunshine · 25/10/2016 22:00

Oooh daisy you might have a baby very soon! How many weeks are you now?

I've got all the kit for a hospital bag but haven't actually packed it yet! I don't feel as though baby us going to arrive anytime soon though.

Bigfam · 25/10/2016 22:12

Great news about the breast feeding soloman
queen hope everything is ok.
I think dd3 has tonsillitis, she's not even two yet and it's horrible seeing her so poorly, she's got a temp, is unusually tired and grumpy and I managed to take a look at her tonsils are she told me 'mouth hurt' I can see loads of white lumps and her neck glands are very obviously swollen, I'm just worried because dd1 had it last year & it was so bad she could barely breath. I'm hoping it doesn't reach that stage with dd3, she's too small to go through that. Emergency gp tomorrow I think

Bumplovin · 26/10/2016 02:28

Gosh the insomnia is kicking in wide awake at 2.30 all I can think about is I can't find the charger for our camera and need it for when she's born. Ive already got up 3 times to search in obvious places ive now given up and am sat with a cup of tea. Roll on 5 weeks time when she's here

BowSurprise · 26/10/2016 03:12

My insomnia is getting worse as well and have a terrible cold that is making me feel dreadful. Worried I'm not going to be able to make it into work today and have so much to do.
Hope you've gone back to sleep Bumplovin

Bigfam · 26/10/2016 04:02

It's weird what our pregnant bodies insist we do at 3am isn't it?! (Did you find the charger bumplovin Grin)

This is my second waking with the pup tonight, I'm well and truly prepared for a newborn now. Dd3 has been asleep all night, bless her Sad

Bumbleclat · 26/10/2016 04:57

Bigfam aww your poor Dd3, I hope a good nights sleep makes her feel better.
bowsurprise I think you should take the day off, if you go into your reserves in order to go to work, you might take longer to recover, have you taken paracetamol? I'm finding it a god send this pregnancy.
bumplovin Im in insomnia club too, every night without fail. I just get up now instead of tossing and turning in bed, In sure I'll be asleep by 6am!

I've got a 32 week appointment at 8:30am and am hoping the MW will be able to tell if baby is breech or not, I want a home birth but they won't let me have one of baby's still breech.

Has anyone else got any signs that baby is 'head down'? I keep getting kicks in right ribs and weird head butting type feeling into my cervix nice but I suppose if could be punches above and kicks below! Confused

Bumplovin · 26/10/2016 05:02

bowsurprise think ive actually written tonight havent been to sleep yet and hubby's alarm goes off at 6.30. Made mental lists of all the jobs I need to do. Googled someone who cleans ovens for a living as that was on the to do list and it's beyond cleaning myself. Im going to wash baby's sheets when I get up and sort some more clothes out

Bumplovin · 26/10/2016 05:04

big fam can't find charger no I can only think it fell out side of bag on holiday at airport as husband lost his sunglasses and swore they were in zip of my bag. Found a replacement one on line im going to order

Popskipiekin · 26/10/2016 09:36

bumbleclat I've got a 34 week appointment next week and really keen to find out where baby is lying too! I'm convinced he's transverse as there's a hard round lump to right of my stomach and all the activity goes on lower left, so I assume that's his little legs. He was breech a couple of weeks ago. Hope I'm wrong!!

goinggrey1978 · 26/10/2016 10:08

I had a funny nights sleep too ladies, very restless legs, first too hot and then too cold, took paracetamol in the end at 2am and slept better, also a thousand wee stops, its every hour and a half to 2 hours when I first go to bed, kind of wish there was a special bed for pregnant ladies to sleep on the loo sometimes!! I went on the hospital tour yesterday it's so hot in there, its definitely made me re think what I pack in my hospital bag!! It was really nice to look round and ask questions about visiting hours and the food situation too, as being on quite a restricted diet myself it always is a problem when I have to go places!! Midwife recommended that I bring my own food in!! After looking at the menu

Babydreaming · 26/10/2016 10:20

I just had my 34 week appointment, all measuring okay but I had glucose in my urine! Thought I had avoided the dreaded OGTT but I've now been referred for one. My mum has diabetes so I'm not really sure why I wasn't offered one initially, it's in my booking information! I think because I'm very slim and caucasian they didn't think I was at risk. Has anyone else had glucose in urine in pregnancy and not had gestational diabetes??

barkingtreefrog · 26/10/2016 10:24

pop I thought so too, I have a hard round lump to my left, and a smaller one consistently to the right but apparently the baby is head down, and the bum is on the right and the feet are pushing out on the left! Midwife said this and scan confirmed!
I get movement on both sides, so presumably it's the arms on the right and the feet on the left, but the head is down. Weird when you start thinking about it!
I am absolutely loving not being at work. Still very uncomfortable but I can just lie down, sit on my ball, stretch out, sit on a different chair, go back to bed for a nap, get my crutches and have some fresh air etc and it's making such a difference.
On holiday this week (husband a keen surfer so he's out with the dog each morning on the beach while I chill out, then he comes back for lunch and we spend the afternoon out somewhere together which is working perfectly!) but looking forward to being back at home and starting to get things sorted like the hospital bag!

Bigfam · 26/10/2016 10:56

Ah no babydreaming that's rubbish, fingers crossed it's not.
I know baby is head down but I think she switches sides, the side I can feel her squirming is where I imagine her feet are & her back curled around under my ribs.
Dd3 has tonsiillitis & an ear infection, no wonder she's out of it in the late afternoon and evening. Hopefully antibiotics will kick in soon.
