Tea sadly I'm not in a position to spend £400 on a test privately so the NHS will have to do I guess

teainbed · 18/10/2016 14:03

I'm not dissing anyone for not having it btw. But it's a better test and the only reason it's not available on the NHS yet is that they can't afford it. Other countries do it as standard and have abandoned nuchals in favour of Harmony.

MissMooMoo · 18/10/2016 14:05

anne I bought a little pair of trousers from baby gap because I loved them and they were on sale Blush
Really going to try not to buy too much, all of our friends who have had babies tell me other people buy a lot for you.

4sacharm · 18/10/2016 22:48

Tea I would just opt for the harmony if I was you, no real science behind my reasoning other than the reliability of the harmony, would tell more than the other and the nuchal is just an estimate based on the size of the fold and a few other factors, soas the harmony is the actual foetal dna that is extracted, I can see why there may be conflict between the two results, potentially. I had to get harmony with ds2 and want to get it with this baby, have to break news to dh in a gentle fashion! X

RasperryInAMelon · 18/10/2016 23:58

Fab... got into bed with sheer exhaustion... fell asleep just after 9... guess who's now wide awake!...

lullaby23 · 19/10/2016 03:10

foxmulder I'm not related to DH but we do have the same surname Grin

Where I am (Singapore) I am having NT and bloods taken for Harmony at the same time at 12 weeks but I think the doctor doesn't bother with the combined test aspect if that makes sense? Anyway Harmony only gives you a probability it's not foolproof but as others said preferable to going straight to invasive procedures. And I have no objection to finding out the NT measurement and whether the nasal bone is present too.

Great news on the recent scans! Can't believe some of us are a full 4 weeks behind though way!

So I've gone from excitement to an utter crying worried mess this morning overnight... I have an early scan in about an hour and am shitting it to say the least... this last week I've stopped feeling sick, skins cleared up, boobs aren't sore, only getting up once in the night to pee rather than the 5 times before... Midwife gave me an EDD of May 24th which would make me 9w today...

Am I being silly?...

Sonnet18 · 19/10/2016 08:22

You're just panicking because you care about your baby. Try not to worry; Symptoms fluctuate.
Firstly, let's deal with the peeing...your womb expands and presses on your bladder so even if your baby wasn't to be ok then your womb would still be pressing on your bladder( unless your baby disappeared somewhere!) . Your womb lifts off your bladder as the baby grows (around 8-9 weeks) so that's that.
My boobs haven't been sore for weeks, all is fine.
I felt amazing last week and feel quite unwell today.
Hope you don't think I'm being mean or blunt. You have every right to be worried and it's a very anxious time. I think you'll be fine.

MissMooMoo · 19/10/2016 08:23

Of course not raspberry I think its normal to be worried! I am 9+4 and I can now go the whole night without a wee if I don't drink a pint of water before going to sleep. The first few times it happened I was in a panic but I've read online that baby is slowly moving upwards and the pressure isn't so much on your bladder.....it will come back in the third trimester though.
Hope your scan goes well and baby is doing flips in there.

mightymouse76 · 19/10/2016 08:25

Raspberry I'm due 28th and in the last 48 hours my sickness has tapered too. I feel less pregnant if that makes sense. But please try to resist the urge to worry (as am I)...it seems to be really common around now?
Good luck for today- am crossing my fingers for you x

Streaky17 · 19/10/2016 08:34

Ahh that explains the sleeping through the night then! I was shocked when that happened.

Rasperry you could be talking about me as my symptoms have been all over the place the last week or so and I'm 9,2 today. Good luck today- I'm sure it will go well.

teainbed · 19/10/2016 08:42

Not silly at all Raspberry. As others have said it all sounds pretty normal! This is my fourth and each time has been completely different but the thing I have learnt is that things fluctuate and any odd feelings, twinges, even feeling great for a few days is completely fine. This bit is excruciating waiting for scans and the knowledge that things are ok.

lucieloos · 19/10/2016 08:54

Raspberry, not silly at all. The scans are stressful and it's only natural to be worried and fear the worst. I'm sure everything will be ok. Good luck and keep us posted.

JulyLady7 · 19/10/2016 09:00

Good luck Raspberry, hope it goes well for you.
I've been there! Last week my nausea disappeared completely, only to return yesterday. I did read that HCG can peak anywhere between 8-11 weeks and around that time the nausea will change as well.. I don't think I'll ever stop worrying completely, but hoping for the best! It's the not knowing that is just utterly crap! At least we can all have a bit of a worry on here!

RasperryInAMelon · 19/10/2016 09:03

Thank you all so much... on the way to the hospital now... just keeping everything crossed.

Sounds daft, but didn't feel like I could talk to DH even though he's so supportive - only because I don't feel like he'll understand. Just told him in the car and got a little telling off for not talking to him bless him.

Will keep you all updated xx

MissMooMoo · 19/10/2016 09:37

mighty slightly off topic but seeing as we are under the same hospital, have you received a scan letter yet? I will be 10 weeks on Sat and not had one through yet.

Adventuregame · 19/10/2016 09:42

10 Weeks today. Sickness has gone it seems but boobs still sore off and on.
Scan is 2 weeks today at exactly 12 weeks. I actually feel a bit in denial. I look like I've eaten a 3 course meal even first thing in the morning and just generally feel uncomfortable today !

Good luck to those with scans this week xxx

MissMooMoo · 19/10/2016 09:55

adventure just a few days behind you and my sickness seems to be going away too.
I look ok in the mornings but look like you describe in the evenings.
My jeans are tighter this week despite losing 2 lbs since last week and when I undo them my tummy just sort of flops out. DH thinks its hilarious.

RasperryInAMelon · 19/10/2016 10:09

So... all seems ok... wriggly little raspberry at 8+5 Smile

Brilliant news raspberry and lovely pic! I had my scan a week before you and it's amazing to see how much they change in that time!

Adventuregame · 19/10/2016 10:30

Moo I feel like I have to lie down after every meal just to try and distribute the weight down there !!
