I absolutely charmed everybody on my course today - after 2hrs drive (not). I was miserable! I then tried to buy maternity trousers as I had to undo the jeans I was wearing halfway through the day. Probably flashing everyone.
I'm now wrapped up in bed watching bake off. Grin

Sorry to hear how some of you are suffering. Sad I hope it improves soon!

mightymouse76 · 12/10/2016 20:34

Lol streaky... I work for a fashion designer, a really elegant woman too, she always looks immaculate. I'm going to work in my jogging bottoms tomorrow, the ones I've been wearing for 2 weeks, because nothing else really fits. Oh and I've got weird, new, dry scalp flaking. It's gonna go so well. Just call me her new muse.

MissMooMoo · 12/10/2016 20:35

mighty I am also under newham! I live in FG.

ginandcake · 12/10/2016 21:12

Glad it's not just me mighty and streaky who's not looking their best. My skin is awful and I seem to be getting hairier! Nice!

Got my appointment for my scan today for next week but can't make it as stuff at work I can't change. They could only give me one other date which is a week on Monday. Work have told me I have to work later to make up for it! They are really started to piss me off. Can't wait for maternity leave now!

RasperryInAMelon · 12/10/2016 21:19

Mighty I'm sure you'll be fine... lots of deep breaths, take water, get yourself a baby on board badge and make sure you get a seat!

I've been living on ginger biscuits which seem to settle me in the mornings. Hope you get through the commute!

RasperryInAMelon · 12/10/2016 21:21

Gin tell me about it! I've come up in horrendous break outs Sad

You're entitled to paid time off for antenatal appointments... have you officially informed your Line Manager that your pregnant?

RasperryInAMelon · 12/10/2016 21:23

Gin www.gov.uk/working-when-pregnant-your-rights

CinnamonTwist · 12/10/2016 21:27

mighty I found ritz biscuits and crackers worked best for me, I completely went off bread for a few weeks (still not really loving it now) unless it was toast. But ritz biscuits were just what I needed Hmm it's bizarre what we can and can't stomach! I also ate lots of nuts, but couldn't face peanuts, only the milder tasting ones!

ginandcake · 12/10/2016 21:28

Thanks raspberry, I'm going to let this one go but I already know that my midwife appoinrments are on one of my working days, so they are just going to have to deal with it.

I have told them about the pregnancy, and they already want to know what date I will be leaving, how long I'll be having off, whether I'll be taking KIT days and to top it off are looking at me to find someone to fill my role!

RasperryInAMelon · 12/10/2016 21:36

Just go careful Gin don't let them take the piss. What do you do if you don't mind me asking?

mightymouse76 · 12/10/2016 21:48

Thanks gin, raspberry and cinnamon, going to get myself a ritz biscuit party box and maybe, just maybe apply some mascara.

missmoomoo no way!!! Me too!! FG! Smile

stationaryace · 12/10/2016 22:09

Gin if they keep pushing for answers tell them 12 months off and going at week 36. You can change the leave date nearer the time (8 weeks notice at my work) and much easier to make your leave shorter than longer. If you've got a maternity policy (depends where you work), then ask for it before you give them any answers. I was advised no KIT days until you are on low/no pay as they interfere with your mat pay and you can end up doing them for free if taken too early. As for finding your cover, it depends how awkward they are likely to make life for you. Last time I swear my boss had her head in the sand as they didn't start the recruitment process until I was 32 weeks, 12 weeks after I told them and with a normal hiring process of 8 weeks from interview to induction! I'm glad I'm a SAHM this time, although it was easier to hide everything sitting at my desk and managing tasks in my own time.

Completely gone off tea and coffee again but I like my hot drinks, so it's hot blackcurrant squash and random fruit teas all day. At least with this super-nose I can pretend they taste better than they do.

lullaby23 · 13/10/2016 00:27

Sorry to everyone suffering, hats off to you functioning I find it hard enough toddler wrangling with nausea and exhaustion! I can't quite remember how I got through these weeks working last time, I can't have been very productive! Though I remember feeling more human by about 16 weeks, so only 8.5 to go Confused

I've gone off coffee but still having a couple of cups of breakfast tea, which is well within the 200mg NHS caffeine recommendation. Crackers are definitely a godsend I'm keeping a small packet in my bag at all times, had to run off from soft play yesterday to eat some so I didn't vom in the ball pool

Booking appointment today at 10.45... was so excited about a lie in... 5.40 I woke up to pee and now I'm wide awake!... today's going to be a long one...

Brightsmoke · 13/10/2016 06:14

Ha Rasperry that's so typical! At least you can have a nice relaxing morning before going.

Gin, your work sound awful! Makes me pleased I work for the government, but don't let them take the piss to much!!

Sorry to be an idiot, but what is a KIT day?

Mustbecrazy123 · 13/10/2016 06:20

Rasperry I woke up at 5am to wee as well and have been awake since! So sorry to hear everyone's sickness is so bad! My nausea was terrible but I can't imagine it being even worse by not being able to keep anything down :( Mostly my symptoms just involve being really spotty, a few over reactions and being super hairy Blush luckily the hair on head is growing too and is down my back now.

Sonnet18 · 13/10/2016 06:30

KIT is a keeping in touch day.

Your work sound awful. Hope you are planning to take the full year gin to get a break from them!

Sipperskipper · 13/10/2016 06:58

Sorry to hear about those of you feeling so rough. I'm 10 + 6 today, and my symptoms faded about a couple of weeks ago (I'm trying not to worry about this!). I've got my scan and harmony test at 11.30 today- will let you know how it goes.

Sending you all lots of antisickness vibes!

teainbed · 13/10/2016 07:12

Good luck sipper. Also 10+6 today and Harmony on Sunday so we're clearly pregnancy twins. Grin

This sickness can FRO now. I would love to be munching crackers but it's a bit difficult with diabetes you can't really graze as you'd like to.

Rabbitykins55 · 13/10/2016 07:22

Raspberry my booking in appointment is today too, I was looking forward to an hours lay in and a good night sleep but woke up at 1am and it took ages for me to get back to sleep! I feel like I've been cheated!

MissMooMoo · 13/10/2016 08:33

How long do the harmony test results take? Just curious.

Sipperskipper · 13/10/2016 08:51

miss 2 weeks. Have a viability scan & bloods for harmony taken today, then go back in 2 weeks for harmony results and full nuchal scan.
