Okay, glad it's not just me... All the women in my office who've had babies for the last 4 years have done that though - lovely long slim legs, normal faces, beautiful neat bumps - exactly what you're supposed to do! And here I am, with a softening face/neck, huge eye bags, enormous boobs and a belly.

One of my friends ended up putting on 5 stone with each of hers, and a neat 8 before and within months after, and she ate normally and exercised. Maybe it's just what happens to some of us!

To be completely honest, I'm swinging between the sheer amazing miracle of being pregnant and growing a tiny human being and thinking fuck it, however it and I do this is just what will happen. I'm eating really healthily (switched the super noodles for trail mix and smoothies!), drinking water, trying to keep moving and sleeping when I need. ...And then having a panic about just how huge I'm going to end up being as it's all been rather unexpected.

I'm walking, doing lots of kegels and gentle back exercises. I could do with some more cardio and it might help keep me awake more.

Good work on your exercising plans Badgerbird, go easy.

For people who've done this before, is it possible to be enormous and bloated in the early days, then for all that to go before a proper bump appears? And will my boobs ever stabilise and stop growing and hurting or are they here to stay?

badger, I'm swimming twice a week and then walking a lot as well. I'm trying to be good with eating, but I've lost my appetite and just want to eat pineapples!

Northernexile · 10/10/2016 12:25

Back to work after scan, saw bean with lovely heartbeat, waving to me and measuring bang on 11+4. So pleased it went well, can tell everyone now. Good luck this afternoon pinky. Only blot on my horizon is that I have to have an elcs apparently, they won't even let me attempt labour after 2 cs's.

You can lose the bloat for a few weeks before your bump pops Anne, it happened to me first time round!

Streaky17 · 10/10/2016 12:51

badger I'm still exercising circuit training and kettlebells so 2x45mins per week. I told the instructor as soon as I found out and she said that I'll need to change some ab exercises after 12weeks.
She told me to take it easier as I may crash mid-afternoon. So I haven't pushed myself but its odd I can do that fine but be exhausted walking up stairs. I'm hoping to continue as long as possible.

I think its recommended not to start new exercise regime without checking with your GP/MW?

I'm stopping netball this week because I told the captain and she wasn't sure I should continue. I can't control other people if they barge or trip me so its probably best.

Yay northern that's great. Good luck pinky.

pinkywink · 10/10/2016 13:14

Thanks ladies, just on way to scan now, don't think I've ever been this nervous in my life!!

McBaby · 10/10/2016 13:23

I think each pregnancy is different with dd1 I put on over 5.5 stone 10 months after giving birth I was nearly a stone less than my pre pregnancy weight. Second time I put on 3.5 stone and was less than pre pregnancy weight by about 10 months neither time I tried to lose weight but running around after kids and breastfeeding helped me.

Feel big at the moment due to bloating and constipation and got the mat jeans out today as my regular ones were hurting when I sit down!!

On my 3 lot of antisickness mess today as the first two were not working and still being sick up to 10 times a days with constant neusea!

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 10/10/2016 13:24

I was very anxious about gaining weight when i was pregnant the first time round. I was always a fit sz 8-10 without needing to try too hard. But in pregnancy I was constantly ferally hungry (and would feel nauseous if I didn't eat). So I got fat, third semester especially with water retention, my weight nearly doubled by the end of it, I went from 55 to 90 kg. I hated my body for it, especially in early pregnancy when I felt totally out of control.
It eventually all fell off and I'm back to normal again (but chubbing out already). I guess my point is your bidy will do what it needs to do, we're all different and we can't control it. I'm definitely enjoying seeing my body change this time and don't obsess with weight ( while eating healthy and drinking lots of water of course).

PeachIcedT · 10/10/2016 13:29

Congratulations northern and good luck pinky.

I'm still exercising, playing badminton weekly (midwife told me its high impact and to be careful?) and running weekly but I'm getting much much slower, and trying to come up with excuses as to why I'm slower to explain to people. Also bought an extra-high support sports bra but even that doesn't provide the support I really need when running!

IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley · 10/10/2016 13:40

Thanks anne no pee pots at all for my booking appointment. Funny how different each area does things.

Also, to answer your questions, I found he bloat went before a bump appeared. And thankfully my boobs stopped hurting at around 12 weeks I think and we're fine until my milk came in after DD was born. Xx

FoxMulder · 10/10/2016 14:31

I'm so sick of being so sick! I've been housebound for over 2 weeks but feels like so much longer. What's the point of getting out of bed anymore it just makes me sick. I've tried 4 kinds of meds and I'm exhausted.

mrspage1985 · 10/10/2016 14:40

Hi all
I'm 7+2, quite big already so trying to stick to gym routine of PT session 1 per week and swimming and dog walking a couple of times per week
I used to do heavy weight lifting but reduced to light weights now.

Nausea is here with avengence, as is a nasty metal taste in my mouth, moods swings and emotions, I cried this morning on the drive to work because I forgot my cereal Confused

Congratulations for all the scans pictures
Got mine on Friday at 7+6 so have my fingers crossed, will feel a lot more tea after that if all goes well x

Brightsmoke · 10/10/2016 15:04

10 weeks today for me! Actually been feeling ok the last few days, sorry those who aren't. I'm still doing light exercising, walking the dog and riding the horse (ironically writing this whilst I do both!)

Been sorting out the dressing room and nursery this weekend, finally getting things in place ready to start buying!

Hope everyone who is feeling sick feels better soon

pinkywink · 10/10/2016 15:11

Update, scan went well! Measuring 11 weeks and saw heart beat- no obvious cause of bleeding! Need to come back for another scan in 2weeks as baby was too small to do the downs screening Smile

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 10/10/2016 15:45

Excellent news pinky

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/10/2016 16:06

Big congrats Northernexile and Pinky and thanks to you who've explained what happened in your previous pregnancies.

I know what you mean, it's just a case of waiting to see what happens and enjoying the process where you can! I don't think it's vanity, and DH is being incredibly sweet so it's nothing to do with that. I just feel a bit self conscious as usually slimmish, have clothes I like to wear and usually feel well put together. And all of a sudden I feel a chubby mess and am sleeping so much my usual grooming has gone out the window!

Sorry you're feeling rough Fox and mrspage.

CinnamonTwist · 10/10/2016 16:11

brightsmoke where are you based? I think I recognise that trail, but it could just be very similar to one near me - called the old railway line by locals?

JulyLady7 · 10/10/2016 16:14

Awwww congratulations pinky, how very lovely! So pleased for you. You must be relieved!

Streaky17 · 10/10/2016 17:03

Yay pinky.
I stopped by my midwife surgery place and spoke to an assistant. She was very helpful putting my mind at rest that the 12week scan can be booked quite quickly following the booking apt (as I'll be 9+4 then).

I'm also feeling guilty that I haven't told work yet but as soon as I do everyone will know.

Brightsmoke · 10/10/2016 17:31

So pleased for you pinky. Cinnamon, highclere in Newbury, don't think it's the same place! Never heard it called that anyway!

EsmesBees · 10/10/2016 19:22

Great news Pinky. And nice you get to see your little one again in two weeks.

peasandquiet · 10/10/2016 20:04

Oh fox you poor thing, I was right there with you 24hrs ago but got meds from the dr today and it was instant relief for me. I doubt it will last but I managed to cook and eat a hot meal which I haven't done in over a week so small victories. I'm guessing you've had cyclizine having tried so many different ones? It's utterly awful, for me very much like a depression decending.

A friend of mine just sent a baby pic, she gave birth at lunchtime. A welcome reminder of why we are putting ourselves through all this rubbish!!

CinnamonTwist · 10/10/2016 20:26

Ah, Brightsmoke no it's not Newbury - it's meon valley, so not that far though.

Must be a weight off your mind pinky hope the bleeding has stopped for good now!

My 12 week scan is on Wednesday, I think I'll be more like 11 weeks though. Really looking forward to it and being able to tell people finally! I am feeling pretty crap at the moment as I have a nasty cold, had a big nose bleed this evening, now my nose won't stop dribbling, but I can't blow it as then it might bleed again and I can't take any sleeping tablets or decongestants because I'm pregnant. It's brought back my morning sickness too, which had faded, so generally feeling shit! Roll on second trimester!!

ginandcake · 10/10/2016 21:26

Congrats to everyone who has had scans, and sorry to all those still feeling crappy. Hopefully there'll be some relief soon.

We've had a really busy weekend and I don't know if it's just me being hormonal but DH is really irritating me, it just feels like he is not pulling his weight. But it's probably just me being a hormonal cow!

Also work is already harassing me to tell them when I'll be going off on maternity leave and how long I'll be taking off. I have no idea yet, I'm only 11 weeks!

ginandcake · 10/10/2016 21:28

Jealous of the horse riding bright, how long are you going to keep doing it for?
