Oh fox that sounds so rubbish :( I really hope it eases for you soon and all the other sick ladies out there!

northern and pinky great news about scans!

smoke thanks for sharing that photo it's beautiful! My favourite thing is to spend time outdoors in the woods & fields. Went for a big walk with friend followed by yoga outside today, bliss. Yes I am a hippy!!

It's so nice to see so many peeps still enjoying exercising. Over the last year I've scaled mine right back, used to love running & boot camp but since the 2 MMC I've become nervous (and knackered!) so just do walking and yoga now but love it. anne I know what you mean, it's not vanity it just feels unusual especially if you are naturally slim and well dressed etc. I've put on weight gradually over last year so not such a big shock to me and as long as I have a healthy bubba I don't care really Smile

Northernexile · 10/10/2016 22:23

Thanks everyone, told both sets of parents tonight, MILs first reaction to DH was 'that was quick' GrinGrinGrin. Dd2 is nearly two so I don't think it's that bad!

Congrats to you too pinky! Work don't need to know that yet gin, surely. I've not told my boss yet at all, putting it off in fact!

ginandcake · 10/10/2016 22:31

My mum was the same about it being quick when we told them about DD2, DD1 was just over 1 at the time, so a smaller age gap than you are going to have, but still not too bad, and anyway no age gap is perfect.

I always knew work were going to be difficult, and would get their knickers in a twist about the whole thing.

Mustbecrazy123 · 11/10/2016 05:53

Lovely to hear about all the scans!
I think the general advice on pregnancy and exercise is you can carry on any exercise as long as you did it before you were pregnant? You see pregnant people weightlifting sometimes so I guess it must be true, don't think I would be doing that struggling to lift my toddler at the minute. With my last pregnancy though I was a competitive cheerleader and did the competition pregnant which I probably shouldn't have done but I was young and felt bad letting the team down!

For the booking appointment I think they test your wee to check for protein levels for UTI. I had to do a course of anti biotics after they tested mine. It's really odd though as I only get UTI's when pregnant but I can't ever tell I have them! I'm worried to get another though as I think they make you take antibiotics for your full pregnancy if you keep getting them

Mustbecrazy123 · 11/10/2016 05:55

Anne with my last pregnancy I was massive and chubby and bloated for the first trimester than the second everything seemed to even out and I ended up with quite a cute little bump so don't worry too much it's easy to feel like a blob for the first few weeks

Brightsmoke · 11/10/2016 06:20

gin, I can't believe your work are harrassing you already! That's awful, and I'm sure against rules! You don't have to tell them until a few months before you want to take it (15 weeks IIRC) but I will double check when I get home tonight if you want. I initially said I would ride until I couldn't, but as I ride a lot on my own, I'm worried about falling and no one knowing, so I've arranged people to come and ride him for me for the next few months. I'm very lucky that he is a very good horse! Stopped competing and jumping straight away.

badger, it's so lovely being out and getting fresh air isn't it! I've been debating starting yoga for a bit, need to look where does pregnancy yoga locally!

I've just started getting bouts of heartburn, knowing my luck it'll be with me the whole way through! Great! Sickness has subsided though, so I shouldn't complain too much I guess!

Hope everyone wakes up feeling better this morning!

Sonnet18 · 11/10/2016 07:22

Haha northern my DD is only 8 months and I'm 9 weeks pregnant so I think a 2 year gap isn't that small at all!!
Hope everyone is feeling ok. We had an awful night with DD so I'm feeling yucky today!

Badgerbird · 11/10/2016 07:38

smoke I'm looking st local pregnancy yoga classes too, I hear they get pretty booked up so fingers crossed.

I also get heartburn, one of my first symptoms and find eating a little something and drinking water helps even though it seems like it will hurt. A few almonds did the trick yesterday. Apparently it's something to do with stomach being empty, like the nausea.

Getting to sleep last night was tricky as had headache and felt sick. Thought I'd crash as soon as head touched pillow coz so exhausted but no :( now super tired for work. Booooo. Sure I'll wake up in a bit. Good luck sonnet and all the other sleepy heads today!

FoxMulder · 11/10/2016 09:42

peas cyclic inevitable was the first one I tried. Did nothing. I will try to call prrgnancy sickness support for advice. Currently waiting in bed for MIL to get here and bring me breakfast because I know I will be sick if I get up!

FoxMulder · 11/10/2016 09:43

Oh, I spoke too soon Sad

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/10/2016 10:25

Thank you Mustbe, that's reassuring. I have a constant bump now, it's firm and doesn't wobble and I can't pull it in! But at only 8 + 3 it's highly improbable as well so assuming it'll go again!

Sorry you're so poorly Fox, I really feel for you.

I managed a very late night, sleepy today but not the same bone shattering exhaustion of the last few weeks.

Yoga is wonderful. I haven't been to a class for ages but I do it at home. Especially good for the back at the moment, and breathing techniques. Someone said there's loads of pregnancy yoga videos on youtube.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/10/2016 10:27

What do you reckon my chances are of getting my driving license before my baby....? I've had minimal lessons but have passed my theory.

I'd planned to get back on it due to recent house move (now live in the sticks) but have been sleeping all hours and just not had the energy.

MissMooMoo · 11/10/2016 10:32

anne I know someone who passed at 34 weeks so it is do able!
I don't have one either Blush we do live in London and I seem to manage fine.
DH just passed his in August and did it quite quickly.

Popped into my surgery just now to give back the paper for my exemption card and they have given me my flu jab. Does anyone know when we need to get the whopping cough one? Is it the second trimester? The doctor mentioned it yesterday but I can't remember, need to actually book an appt for that one.

EsmesBees · 11/10/2016 11:39

It's near the end MissMoo. I can't remember exactly when. It's one that you need to remember yourself. I didn't get a letter or anything last time. Just happened to see a poster in the GPs office.

My mum passed hers about a week before having me Anne. Apparently the instructor spent most of the test asking if she was ok. Nothing is as motivating as a deadline!

PeachIcedT · 11/10/2016 11:41

MissMoo at my booking in appointment the midwife said after the 20 week scan I have to book in for the whooping cough vaccine, so not for a little while yet. I suppose it gives a bit of a gap from the flu jab.

Badgerbird · 11/10/2016 12:36

I'd say go for it anne! It's def gonna be easier now than when you've got a little one Shock You have great motivation too!

fox so hope you stop being so ill soon. Must be awful!Flowers

Adventuregame · 11/10/2016 13:14

Struggling today. Shattered and feeling a bit sick. I shouldn't moan as on Saturday I was begging to get my symptoms back but I just want to go back home and wrap up on the sofa. Think it was the commute that did it. Anyone else commute into London and had to battle the Southern Rail strike ?

Flingmoo · 11/10/2016 13:59

Adventuregame we do live in that part of the country but we have a 1hr drive to work (not in London) rather than a train commute. Long journeys are horrible aren't they? The car sickness kind of seems to multiply with the morning sickness to make the nausea so much worse!

I haven't actually vomited yet but I have all day nausea and tiredness which is making work an absolute pain in the arse. All day on Monday I sat at my desk fantasising about quitting my job. I'm basically a useless employee right now. Wish I could just have the balls to ask my boss for some time off.

teainbed · 11/10/2016 14:25

Sorry to hear about the ongoing nausea and vomiting amongst us! I'm between 10 and 11 weeks and it's not pleasant but I'm mostly managing. I'm not vomiting much but feel terribly sick most of the time. I would like to be grazing on biscuits constantly but it's not possible. I haven't done any exercise in weeks due to sickness and feeling lightheaded despite my determination not to lose any fitness. But I'm sure once first trimester is over I'll be able to contemplate doing something.

teainbed · 11/10/2016 14:26

Does anyone else have a flattering double tummy thing going on? Grin I have a very small rounded lower tummy and another bit higher up which is bloat rather than baby. Lovely.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/10/2016 14:34

Thanks for all the encouragement! I'll contact my instructor again and tell her the deadline is looming....

On clothes, do maternity clothes accommodate extra boob or just belly? I'm usually a 10 but I've gone up 2 cup sizes so even with maternity stuff should I go up a size (or 2)?

I have the opposite tea! The only bit of me that hasn't changed is my rib area. Belly and boobs either side are taking over.

mightymouse76 · 11/10/2016 15:20

Hello everyone
May I join? Due 28 May. 7+4 today. Sick as a dog and absolutely shitting myself.

I'm old (40) and pretty much freaking out to be honest. I think I'm the big baby.

Had to have an early scan Thursday after being rushed to hospital with severe reaction to metaclopromide. Saw a heartbeat- no idea how it survived me having seizures for 6 hours, and multiple injections.
Another scan booked for Saturday, then another for the 24th. All the scan appointments are making me think they think something will go wrong.

Nobody said it would be this bonkers or scary!!

I hope everyone is doing ok. I've been lurking on several threads and can honestly say I trust this place more than my GP!
X

MissMooMoo · 11/10/2016 15:45

Thanks for info re the whooping cough vaccine.

mighty welcome! That must have been very scary, glad to hear you and the little one are doing ok now though.

pinkywink · 11/10/2016 16:01

Teainbed YES!! I have a horrendous double tummy going on, I just look fat not pregnant, embarrassing as expect people will be say "oh you're showing already" and I'll be like no that's just my fat Blush

mightymouse76 · 11/10/2016 16:17

Thanks missmoomoo!

I'm slowly getting less jittery. Hope no one else experiences that horror show.

Hi teainbed (I miss tea!!)

What exercise did you do previously? I used to swim. I'm desperate to swim now but worried I'll puke in the pool or just sink 'cause I'm so knackered.

Has anyone else managed any exercise whilst feeling gross and nauseous, and did it help? I've heard some women say it's great for morning sickness, but I'm confused as to how they even found their gym kit when feeling like this, let alone left the house...
