niks was just trying to figure that out myself - if you tap the little figure on the top right, you should have an option for inbox. Then if you tap the down arrow in the top right you should have an option for sending a new message.

Do we just need to give our email address to get on the FB group?

Celen · 08/10/2016 07:20

Thanks MyGreenSofa, I shall give the sudo a try!

This day fours year ago, I was starting maternity leave - it was a perfect, restful two weeks dedicated to just me...

finova · 08/10/2016 07:22

You need to switch back to desktop mode then you'll see the pm button next to every posters name.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page then press 'desktop' site.
Yes you give your email as easier to search Facebook then looking up names (of which there might be loads). I gave name too though.

abeandhalo · 08/10/2016 07:34

I got my form from work yesterday asking me when I'm going on leave. This is my first baby so I don't know how to decide! How many weeks pre-baby did you have off?

I think I'll just get bored / anxious if it's too long, but I don't want to do myself in at work!

abeandhalo · 08/10/2016 08:00

Just worked out that if I take 3 weeks before the due date, 39 weeks takes me to precisely the week before Xmas. My work shuts down over Xmas so I just use a bit of annual leave as usual & go back beginning of Jan nice and neat. Well done, baby, couldn't have planned it better!

MumiTravels · 08/10/2016 08:08

My baby born was born in mu annual leave last time. I had taken some annual leave then was going to start maternity leave at 38 weeks. He was born at 37 on my week off. Finished work on the Sunday. Born on the Thursday. No restful nesting time for me!

ChatEnOeuf · 08/10/2016 08:09

That sounds perfect Abe. I'm going to finish at 34ish I think, and then 11m will take me to Feb, which is when our jobs change over. First time around I finished at 33 which I thought was too early, but as it happened, we moved house at 34 and she arrived at 37...so also pretty perfect!

Celen, my skin is ridiculous at the moment - I can't exfoliate (even with my 'gentle' one) as it makes my skin bleed. I've never really had sensitive skin before, so I've no experience.

Yes, send us your email to join the group - it's secret so you can't search for it :)

marmitecheesetoast · 08/10/2016 08:10

I have also got random dry patches of skin, one on my tummy that isn't itchy but looks quite red and sore, and really dry patches on my ankles that are itchy! Not sure if it's eczema or not either!?

Awh jpeg i can imagine id have similar meltdown. I'm sure you look lovely though! Can you snazz up dress with some nice accessories to make it feel more wedding like, less work like?

jpeg28 · 08/10/2016 08:37

In need of desperate help!! Leaving for a wedding in 2 hours... I have squeezed myself into 3 dresses...any help would be much appreciated! Which one!!!

All look lovely jpeg but think I like no 3 the most! Wear whichever is least tight and comfiest though!!

RaRa25 · 08/10/2016 08:40

Great scan pics everyone. Mine is on Monday so really nervous now.
Chat I have sent you my email. I struggle to keep up with this thread. I want to reply to lots of people but by the time I get round to it, it seems too late.
Re leggings, I get mine from next or Sainsbury's, god that must show my age!
Have a good weekend everyone and welcome to everyone new.

ChatEnOeuf · 08/10/2016 08:40

Which one will be most comfy after the wedding breakfast?

I like the white/flowers and the one with the belt :)

RaRa25 · 08/10/2016 08:44

jpeg I think dress 3 looks perfect for a wedding, very flattering.
I'm at the races today and have bought the same dress in 2 sizes. Will see which looks best after breakfast. The beautiful Karen Millen dress I wore in July does not zip up anymore Blush

Helbelle75 · 08/10/2016 09:07

I like 1 or 3 jpdg, whichever one is comfiest for you.
Hope you have a lovely day.

jpeg28 · 08/10/2016 09:07

Thanks everyone! The white is my fave but now that my boobs are the size of my head they sort of squeeze out!!

Have a nice day at the races RaRa!

TopKittyKat · 08/10/2016 09:27

I think you look lovely in the white dress jpeg
Have a great day!

TopKittyKat · 08/10/2016 09:30

I've been wondering about mat leave too. I can't wait to have time off but I know if it's more than a week, then I'll get bored.
Also, I don't think we'll be able to afford the whole year off so I want to use as much of my actual mat leave for when baby is here.
I think I might try to go to 38 weeks. Is that completely bonkers and unrealistic
can you tell it's my first

Hayls17 · 08/10/2016 09:32

jpeg they all look lovely but the white one is my favourite. Hope you have a fab day!

marmitecheesetoast · 08/10/2016 09:36

Have you got a light scarf or pashmina jpeg could always chuck that round you for the ceremony bit if you feel self conscious about boobs! You look great though Smile

I haven't even thought about mat leave yet... I also think go crazy sitting around waiting and knowing me I'd go over (think that's common with first babies?) but equally would ideally like some time at home to rest/get last things organised! I guess it's finding the balance which seems hard to figure out!

Theknittinggorilla · 08/10/2016 09:45

All look lovely jpeg, fave is the white one, then number 1. You look fab.
I finished at 37 weeks with number 1 (planned 38 but changed it a few weeks before), then to 33 weeks with number 2 (tough pregnancy, bad back and ligament pain), planning to finish at 29 weeks with this one and use holiday to go to 3 days a week (from 4) from mid December. Anticipating another tough pregnancy physically and find being pregnant with small children harder than having more small children.

Also due to how my holiday year falls I can still be off until April 18 (if I decide to go back). So only 16 weeks to go for me!

No chance of being bored with two children and some home improvements to get on with.

Lovely scans everyone, mine is next Thursday (finally!). Did get my serenity results back and all looks good, phew. And resisted finding out the sex - amazing that they can tell at 10 weeks!

jpeg28 · 08/10/2016 09:57

I'm really hoping I can go to 38 weeks... that's the end of the spring term so then the baby is due in the Easter hols. Would mean I don't have to start maternity pay until the day the baby is born! Although that's a plan... which most probably won't happen!

I'm going with dress 1... I love the white one but it's not as comfy and my belly seems to get bigger during the day!! I'll try to brighten it up with some lippy! Thanks for all the advice!

Helbelle75 · 08/10/2016 10:00

Me too jpeg but no idea how realistic that is.

Helbelle75 · 08/10/2016 10:31

Just received my screening results - low risk for edward's, Pataus and down's. That's good, right?

MrsRhubarb · 08/10/2016 12:12

I worked to 38 weeks last time, planning to do the same this time. Baby was a week late, so I had three lovely weeks to oversea our entire house being ripped apart due to boiler work. No, it was not finished by the time baby came. I will have a years worth of annual leave to use between in January-March so I will have plenty of breaks to make it easier towards to end. I did the same with annual leave last time which is great if you have the option - three weeks work, one week off, repeat.

My test results all came back low too.

1 and 3 are lovely Jpeg, hope you have a nice time.

I'm spending some quality time in my glamorous pyjamas today, and looking forward to lighting the fire for the first time this autumn tonight. DD just wants to snuggle today, we've had a busy few days so I was hoping she'd be ready to just relax. Need to start thinking about how I'm going to make the strawberry cake she has requested for her birthday.

Niks2026 · 08/10/2016 14:01

Well that was fun trying to work mums net on a desktop site from an iPhone. The app is definitely easier.

I worked until 38 weeks with both dds. Going to 37 this time but my maternity won't start until 39 because of the Easter holidays. Does anybody who works in a school know if we accumulate holiday and can have an extra 4 weeks off paid tagged on to the end of maternity?
