Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Lillian We have a Gro Egg which is great and worth the price. I think they are around £12 or so.

Nevlet · 11/10/2016 10:55

Lillian also have a gro egg very worth it!

LillianFullStop · 11/10/2016 11:31

Thanks nev and leonie I'll check that one out! £12 is quite reasonable!

Nevlet · 11/10/2016 11:57

Its very helpful if you have a house with unstable temperature. We have no gas supply so no centra heating just log burners and tons of insulation. Means the temperature fluctuates a lot. Also i am always too hot DP always too cold so we would never know how Bodh was feeling temperature wise without.

LovelyFishy · 11/10/2016 16:23

Had what I thought was my booking in appointment today. Turns out it's a pre-booking in appointment where they just write all my details already on the doctors file onto a new bit of paper and arrange the actual booking in appointment. Confused

Marmite I'm not super excited yet, nausea really did wipe away most of my emotions. Hoping it'll all come back at the 12 week scan!

AudreyBradshaw · 11/10/2016 16:33

lovely yeah its a bit of a let down the first appt. Bloods are usual taken St abiut 12 weeks near your scan date. Then it's boring again till 20 weeks. But boring is good!

Have to have a proper catch up on the thread later, gorgeous pics. Am knackered and can't stop yet! Hope everyone is ok Flowers

Just having a quick scan through after having my friend staying for the weekend and a hectic couple of days at work. Need to catch up properly but gorgeous gorgeous baby pics!!

Fishy that sounds like a bit of a let down. My first appointment was my proper booking-in appt where they did bloods and all sorts. That was at 8/9 weeks. But I guess everywhere does it differently. When is your next appointment? Hopefully you don't have too much longer to wait. I think it's totally understandable not to be excited at the pukey exhausted uncertain first trimester phase. It was only the day after the 12 week scan that I first had the thought 'I'm having a baby!' I genuinely hadn't even had that thought process before then which sounds ridiculous Blush
Do you know how Moose is getting on? Hopefully she'll be joining us over here soon too.

Had flu jab today so that's another thing ticked off. Next appointment is at 16 weeks for more bloods and to see the consultant (who hopefully will decide I don't need to see them again after deciding what to do about my deficiency!)

Sounds like it won't be long before the next thread baby, hope you don't have to wait too long Lillian and Cosmo exciting!!

PotatosMum · 11/10/2016 18:38

Lillian you should definitely get a hair cut before baby arrives otherwise you'll struggle afterwards.

Lovely I'm afraid your booking in appointment will be more of the same, taking details and asking questions. Most of pregnancy is rather dull but the 12 week scan is one of the best bits as that's when it all gets real.

Ooo, gro egg looks good.

Hi marmite

I am here stalking but I was a bit too freaked out to post as there's actual like babies over here!!! And I'm just over here not even feeling pregnant!!

All the little ones are completely and utterly gorgeous btw!!!! So happy for you all!! Grin

6+1 over here, it really hasn't sunk in. Got a private scan at 7+4 so hopefully I'll start believing it then!!! I feel like a bit of fraud posting on here!! Lol

LisaTheSimpson · 11/10/2016 18:49

Is anyone doing Vitamin D drops?

Went to a breastfeeding session at the local children's centre today (really worth it, feel much better about things now), and the woman there said the brand new advice is to give babies Vitamin D directly, as a drop a day in their mouth.

She said it's the only vitamin you can't absorb naturally, and the UK sunlight isn't enough.

Has anyone else heard this?

Pinklily1 · 11/10/2016 19:15

lisa, yes, our hospital told us that breastfed babies need daily vitamin k drops, and they supplied us with the drops. They said that formula or combination (great/formula) fed babies don't need the drops as there is vitamin D in the formula.

Welcome moose!

Disappointing that your appointment was a pre-booking appointment fishy.

For those breast or combination feeding, how long is the longest baby has gone without a poo? I know Atticus went a long time. Evelyn is now on day four of no poos, when she previously had 3 - 4 per day. Its making her really uncomfortable.

Pinklily1 · 11/10/2016 19:16

sorry, totally misread your post lisa and got my vitamin D and K confused! No one has mentioned vitamin D to me.

IndiX · 11/10/2016 20:08

I haven't heard anything about vitamin D or K pink/Lisa. My midwife is coming tomorrow so I'll ask her then.

That's annoying about your booking in appt fishy.
*
Moose* I don't think it felt real for me until she was here tbhGrin

Look at arya's chubby cheek! So cute potato

Today has been a lot better since I slept well last night. 2 friends popped round to meet Autumn and brought some gorgeous gifts which was lovely of them. I also managed to get in an hour nap later on so I'm feeling a lot more human.
Autumn had her first bath at home tonight. She was really good, I thought she may scream like she did in the hospital but she was a good girl and seemed to semi enjoy it.

Co5mo · 11/10/2016 20:39

If I'm remembering right, if you took your vit d through pregnancy and continue to take it, breastfed babies don't need extra vit d until 6 months.

I've had a lovely afternoon catching up with an old friend I've not seen for nearly 20 years.

I'm getting quite bored of being checked up on by family. Still getting the pleasant early signs with my body clearing itself out. Hopefully not much longer... I just want to get on with it now.

Sodasoda · 11/10/2016 22:03

Alexa got a vitamin K injection in the delivery room when she was born. I'm taking vitamin D supplements so hopefully that should cover her, haven't heard anything about drops.

Pink Alexa is still going every day but it's dropped to once a day now instead of every time I change her.

Have had a lovely day at baby cinema and then walking in park with NCT girls. Really not looking forward to winter!

Lovely pics potato and indi!

Hope things get started for you soon Cosmo.

BunchOfBobs · 11/10/2016 22:03

Wow lots to catch up on.

Disappeared a see had the inlaws up and the my parents joined the party. Properly struggled with my inlaws and didn't want to add fuel to my raging fire by venting, thought it best to internally seeth.... Hmm
Anyhoo, inlaws now gone and we're at my parents for a couple of days as DH has an event to attend local to them.... can you tell im not his biggest fan at the mo. Again, best to keep that internal too.

Indi hope you're okay after your cry. Nothing better than a good cry sometimes. Oh my goodness Autumn is an utter stunner!!

Nev the wedding dress you love is a stunner. I ended up getting s dress twice my original budget as o stupidly tried it on even though I couldn't afford it. We didn't really need a band anyway Wink wahey on DTD, still not movement here on DH, but the way he has been the last few days he can take a running one if he was interested. I was planning on not actively preventing pregnancy but we're off to Florida in May so I need to due to zika and Disney won't be fun preggo. Saying that I think DH has decided to be celibate as apparently he's not over the trauma of the birth and labour Hmm If I was never traumatised how is he?! Gorgeous pic of Bodhi.

Glad to here you're back in he saddle too miley and that everything felt normal to OH. Ahh that suit on Harrison is amazing, as always, so is that hair!

Lisa Atticus used to act as though nappy changes were torture, he almost never cries at changes now and if he does it's because he wants to be naked the little naturist! Re the boob, I don't have big boobs, nothing really to hold in place,'I just hold A at nipple height and we're a go.

Potato she looks so happy in it, I've never heard of the lullago before, how did you come across it? My DM has bought little A a few Halloween outfits. I always crack out my skeleton dress to wear on the day so he has a matching babygrow and a "boo" babygrow too.

Woohoo and Leonie amazing weight gain for Theo.

How did DHs first day go Stardrey? And the giant Jaffa cake, that is worthy of a photo surely?

Congratulations and welcome moose.

Pink Atticus went 11 days at the most, he's been at a poo every other day for over a eek now and today had 2 poos! I have no idea what has caused it and I'll be honest I'm a bit peeved I have to deal with daily shorty nappies Grin. No one seemed concerned with our poo gaps, but I found clockwise tummy massage helped when he was uncomfortable.

Atticus was amazing on Monday night, went down at 11, was up at 3 and then up again at 7.30. Shame I was up every 2 hours checking on him and then last highly an all day he's fed every 1.5 hours.

Right that's me all caught up I think, time to get out of this bath before I dissolve.

PotatosMum · 11/10/2016 22:34

Moose you're very welcome here, please don't be scared of us, we don't bite, honest!

Lisa yes, I've heard the vitamin D thing. I don't need to worry about it now as its in formula but when Arya moves to food I'll need to add it.

Indi that's an amazing photo!!!

Bunch I found the lullago on Amazon while looking for a replacement for our Moses basket. There were so many positive reviews I decided to try it and it really is brilliant. Wish I'd heard of it before but I guess as its technically a travel cot (folds up into s little bag) there's no reason I would have. Arya really loves it though.

Well, so much for having injections tomorrow. I got a phone call today to say she can't have them because she'll only be 7+5 and she needs to be 8. Hmm still we've still got our 6 week check up.

I've been trying to work all evening but Arya has not been cooperating and OH seems to think that looking after her so that I can work ends at holding her for half an hour and putting her in her bouncy chair Hmm
I was hoping that I'd be able to do most of my work in the evenings while OH looked after Arya but I think I'll just have to work when she sleeps as I don't want her left to fuss, it's not good for her development at this age and I don't want her feeling like she has to chase our attention.

AudreyBradshaw · 11/10/2016 23:08

He seems to have really enjoyed it thanks bunch he came home, rubbed my belly and went "phew, thank god I'm back at work...We can have a baby now!" To which I took that he feels good about it! What happened with the in laws? Or is it better not to ask as it will wind you up again? I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the cake, I've had to buy a notebook to keep in my handbag because I'd forget my head otherwise at the min!

We tried dtd the other day the "normal way" dh felt the baby move, you've never seen a man's face change so quickly! He went white and was like "babe, the baby, it's moving, I can't do this this way!" Grin think it's put him off dtd for a while.

potato she's gorgeous and I love the little cot, that looks ace tbh.
indi another gorgeous snuggle baba, such bright little eyes! Hope you're healing up well.

moose and cheese I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and it's only just hit me that I'm going to have a baby! Genuinely, I've only just got my head round being pregnant, and I'm term in 3 weeks! And we're only just getting round to painting the room and we still haven't got a cot! There's plenty of time yet for things to sink in!

Lovely not sure why they would do it separately? don't get your hopes up the real booking appointment will likely be just as boring and uneventful - just countdown to your 12w scan Smile

Potato got myself out of the house today to get my haircut - bonus was that the shampoo chairs had a vibrate massage mode - nice! went for a shop, had a nice long walk and grimaced pushed through the fanny daggers in the hope of getting things moving. Had a hot curry for dinner tonight too. Come on baby!

Welcome moose!

Lisa I haven't heard of vitamin D drops - just the vitamin K leaflet with the shot vs oral dose. And to take Vitamin D supplements once I finish my pregnancy multivitamins

Sorry to hear DH is not on best behaviour bunch Confused

What film did you watch soda? Might watch one tomorrow with Dsis.

Loving those baby pics of Autumn and Arya! So excited to meet my LO now. I'm with you co5mo - just want her to come now already. And I've been getting messages asking after news too Confused

IndiX · 12/10/2016 06:27

Autumn has just slept through from 12-6!!!GrinGrinGrin I really hope this new routine sticks!!! I actually woke before her because I rolled over and my boobs were rock hardHmm

It's my due date today and Autumn is 1 week old Star the week has flown by and I feel like I'm starting to get more in to the swing of mummy life now.

Cosmo good luck! It's my birthday tomorrow and I really hope it's going to be your LO's tooSmile

Sorry about the in laws and DH bunch. If you do feel ready to vent we're all here to listen.

Audrey great news that DH enjoyed his first day.

I forgot to say yesterday but I took my dressing off and my scar seems to be healing really well. It's a very neat dark line on my bikini line. I'm really happy with it. It still stings sometimes but I know it's knitting inside as well as outside. There's also a band of swelling just above it which feels a bit jelly-ish when I walk about sometimes but that will go down soon I'm sure.

PotatosMum · 12/10/2016 07:54

Audrey glad your OH enjoyed his new job.

Lillian sounds like you had a productive day Smile hopefully baby will be with you soon.

Indi wow! That's a fantastic sleep!! And it sounds like your scar is healing really well.

Just had a mini drama here. DSS has been home with a cold all week. He was supposed to go back today but when OH woke him up he started asking where his uniform was as he brought it down to be washed. OH came to ask me where his uniform was to which I answered "if you mean the laundry that materialised in the kitchen about midday yesterday then it's in the washing machine as I had no idea he needed it today." Cue OH telling us we need to communicate more... so DSS will be staying home today due to lack of clothes Hmm DSS is 13 and a half, he could do his own washing if he had a mind to.

Off to have our 6 week checkup today, I'm shattered after going to bed late because I was trying to work last night. I need to get some example designs completed for my web design business. I'm going to try to work some more today when Arya naps but first I need to try to nap a bit longer Arya's making lots of "I'm awake" sounds so I don't like my chances

Mileymoocow · 12/10/2016 08:16

Oh my God, I can't keep up!

indi it sounds as though Autumn is an absolute darling! We're still up every 2 hours Hmm at least he's consistent I guess! Glad you're healing well.

potato as always, you have my sympathy regarding step children. It must be so bloody difficult! Flowers

audrey glad all is well with DHs job! Also, we didn't DTD the normal way for months either. Apparently it's freaky and he was afraid of squishing baby!

bunch welcome back! Sorry inlaws ruined your weekend and your DH isn't being so darling. I'm finding everyone is testing my patience at the moment, too. Always vent! it's good to vent.

Yes to the gro egg - ours has been a saviour and we have vitamin k drops, nothing about vitamin d.

Right, I will have a proper read through later, need to get sorted for baby clinic and massage this morning. Anyone else feel like they never stop?!

Hello tell everyone! And sorry to those I've missed.
Harrison has a bit of baby acne I think. He has a few spots on his beautiful little face and it's making me sad Sad

Nevlet · 12/10/2016 08:29

Miley Bodhi had spotty cheeks around 3/4 weeks they have totally gone now. He has developed cradle cap... on his forehead around his eyebrows Hmm

marmitecheesetoast · 12/10/2016 08:32

Hi moose! Yay! Gosh it seems longer ago than that you got your BFP! How are you feeling? You've not too long to wait til private scan at least. We had one at 8 weeks and it is such a mindblowing amazing feeling seeing and hearing heartbeat for first time! Especially as I'd been convinced there'd be nothing in there!

Sorry to hear you've had a stressful weekend with the in laws and DH bunch hope thing are a bit better now.

Potato sorry to hear you're having a frustrating time with getting your OH to look after Arya while you work and with DSS, it must be really difficult Flowers

Good work on the haircut and hot curry Lillian! Grin

Glad to hear he enjoyed his first day audrey hopefully this means a period of more equilibrium now!

Indi Autumn sounds like a little angel Halo great news that scar is healing well too.

I'm feeling a bit grumpy today. I know I shouldn't complain about this when most of you have had much less sleep than me but I had such a crap nights sleep. I had SIX wees in the night??! Which is a record even for my first trimester self. The night time weeing has got lots better so no idea what that was about I had nothing different to drink last night Hmm My eczema on my hand was driving me crazy in the night, it's really bad at the moment without being able to put any of the 'good' creams on. And I couldn't sleep on my preferred side because of flu jab arm pain! Plus, DH seems to be coming down with yet another cold after a heavy weekend away drinking his weight in beer in Germany and was snoring like a trooper Envy plus day 3 of waking up with a headache this morning! Gaaaah! Right, sorry will stop moaning now!
It's a gorgeous crisp sunny autumn day again here which is always uplifting. Hope everyone has a lovely day

PotatosMum · 12/10/2016 08:45

Miley DSS is a lovely boy but he's a boy and is used to his mum chasing him for things and managing his life for him. I said from the start that I'm not his mum and won't be doing everything for him, he just needs to get used to thinking for himself.
I don't think that really comes naturally to boys Wink

Definitely yes to it never stopping. It's 24/7, some days the only rest I get is getting OH to look after Arya while I go to the loo without leaving the door open in case she cries Confused

Arya gets baby acne too. She's not bad now but two weeks ago she was covered in spots.

I finally think my first post birth period has finished, it lasted about 2.5weeks and I was starting to think it would never end. I read that for some people it lasts 4 weeks or more and was dreading it continuing that long. I'm sure OH will be in a happier, more helpful mood when he's not deprived Wink lol

Bunch you're a braver woman than I leaving things to fate so soon after having Atticus. I do think it's quite exciting that you could be back on the pregnancy road before he's one though Grin oh and I'm a bit jealous of you going to Disney Land in Florida. I'm trying to convince OH we should take Arya to Disney Land Paris while she's really young. I want to take her for the first time when she's 2 or 3. Going to suggest we do it during school term as the DSC get extra holidays with their mum in addition to holidays we take them on so I don't see a problem with Arya getting a holiday with just us. Smile
