Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Sooo many gorgeous babies now! And equally lovely Mummy's! We are amazing! What a year! Can you believe it's been a year since our first tentative TTC thread!? Look how far we've come!

Roll up, literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Ladies

Does anyone have a baby who grazes on food? Evelyn has been on and off my boobs since 8.15am, with only little breaks in between (about 10 minutes breaks at a time). She merrily sucks away for a bit, falls asleep/ decides to come off, I then try and put her down and she cries. I offer her more boob and she goes straight back on. I've got no plans for today so I don't mind, but it's a bit limiting otherwise.

Co5mo · 05/10/2016 13:27

Lillian I didn't get any more leaking so it was pool water. My membranes are well and truely in tact and have been swept this morning.

Baby is in position and ready to go. The midwife even said his head was so low that I could practically cough him out and I should labour well so that's positive.

DH took himself to the doctors this morning. Ear and chest infection have developed from his cold apparently and came away with an antibiotic precription.

I hope Beanie is here safe and sound Indi.

BunchOfBobs · 05/10/2016 13:33

Pink its cluster feeding, she'll be going through a growth spurt. You're doing the right thing letting her on and off as she wants, she's telling your body to make more milk. All normal, if a PITA.

Mileymoocow · 05/10/2016 13:34

pink Harrison has days like that, it's mostly around the growth spurt times. It can get tiring. Does Evelyn do it all the time?

So little chunky has gone from 6lb 15oz to 7lb 13oz in a week, I breastfed openly in public for the first time - TWICE today and we've been out to meet my friends for a coffee without and blips at all. Today has been a good day. Guess I should crack on with some housework...or stare at my beautiful little boy.

co5mo LOL at cough him out Grin brilliant news though. Are you A+ blood type by any chance? Wink

Mummies - do you wake little ones up for nappy changes? I hate the thought of him sitting with a dirty nappy on but I also hate disturbing him when he's asleep!

Also, is anyone using any bath products yet?

Canters15 · 05/10/2016 14:48

Congrats fishy! And so glad you enjoyed the scan and all was well damson.

Good luck indi! Actually you probably have a baby by now.....so exciting!

Well my morning sickness appears to be back. Had a couple of random little chunders over the last few days and then was hideously sick without warning at Liverpool Street this morning....joy of joys! Just had a private growth scan as was panicking about little man, he's 4 and a half lbs at almost 34 weeks and predicted birth weight of around 7 and a bit lbs so I'm happy with that!

Am loving the new mummy and breastfeeding tips. I was going to try and shop for some post birth clothes today that I can feed in but am just not up to it, looks like I will be doing lots of ordering online! I want some baggy jumpers I can wear with leggings and some vests...

Glad you found some dresses you liked pink. My advice would be to try and avoid getting too hung up on it and once you've found something you really like stop looking....however that comes from someone who took 45 mins to choose a wedding dress and 4 hours to choose wedding shoes, so my priorities may be a little skewed! It's so exciting, I miss wedding planning.

LillianFullStop · 05/10/2016 15:09

that's so exciting pink!

that's a good birth weight canters - not too big and not too small Smile sorry about the random chunders though - yikes.

good news on having a good day out with your little chunky miley - i love all these nicknames for the new bubs Smile

hope the sweep was effective cosmo and your real waters will go soon! If a cough is all it takes you might be thanking DH for sharing his manflu haha. miley is there any truth to A+ labours? I hope so as I am A+ !!

Mileymoocow · 05/10/2016 18:12

lillian my midwife swore there was truth in it. No studies done but she was into her 23rd year and had noticed a trend in shorter labours and A+ blood groups. It was certainly true for me Smile I have also healed very quickly, stopped bleeding after 2 and a bit weeks and was out and about when Harrison was 3 days old. Hopefully it's the same for you! My cousin was very much the same with a quick and easy labour and healing relatively quickly. Our stitches apparently healed very quick which caused the most horrendous itching down there Confused guess it can't all be good though.

canters I started spewing again around 34 weeks, so I have a lot of sympathy for you Flowers good to know baby is a good weight! Grin

PotatosMum · 05/10/2016 18:12

Miley glad things sound like they're going really well Smile

Arya informs me in no uncertain terms when her nappy needs changing Confused
No bath products here yet.

Bunch sorry Atticus is struggling with feeding and putting on weight. Hopefully the gaviscon will help.

Pink glad you managed to find a couple of dress options Smile wish my OH would get on and propose so that I can look at dresses Envy

OMG Indi I forgot too blame baby brain, that doesn't go away after birth good luck!!!

Damson yay for your little prawn. Oh and for future scans don't bother drinking extra water, I had lots of scans and didn't drink anything extra for one of them!

Cosmo sounds like you'll be joining the mummies soon Grin

Canters sorry you're back on the morning sickness Sad

I'm so proud of Arya today, she's worked out that her hands are useful and under her control! She had been punching pink bug on command ( I moved him higher so she actually has to reach, no way she could be doing it by accident), she managed to clasp her hands with her fingers woven together and she grabbed my finger and put it in her mouth... Then promptly spat it out looking disgusted! BlushGrin
She's even getting frustrated because she wants to do things with her hands but coordination is difficult Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 05/10/2016 18:54

Clever baby Arya! She's learning! How super exciting! potato that's just made me smile!

indi hope beanie has arrived with minimum fuss and you're now enjoying your beautiful new daughter!

miley woop woop on the tinky one working on becoming a chunk! And well done you for getting him there!

cosmo Fingers crossed the sweep shifted things and your moving along soon!

canters that sucks about the sickness being back for sure! I've just been absolutely knackered this week, but that could be because Dh is just so bloody intense at the minute! Be glad to pack him off to work next week!

damson excellent news on Prawn! You'll be amazed at how quick they grow! I'm convinced I'll have a 10 lb monster if the punches and kicks are anything to go off.

bunch could it be he's having a few off days because of his jabs? You are doing such an excellent job as a mum, and I'm thoroughly hoping I can manage to take to breastfeeding like you have.

So I've prepped the baby's room in readiness for painting, it looks like a kill room off Dexter (which made us laugh especially as if it's a boy then Dexter is currently top of the list) Dh has to have a tooth out tomorrow, he's being a brave soldier so far and claiming he's not bothered. I know what you all meant by baby kicks go from being cute to bloody painful. I thought I was having some kind of lung/rib related breathing issue until a foot swept past my diaphragm and I realised it was the baby. When it stretches (which it does frequently it's so uncomfortable! And it definitely takes after its father with an cracking left hook! Grin

LovelyFishy · 05/10/2016 20:27

Audrey don't feel bad on lack of nickname, mine's currently called "sickness machine". I should probably work on something cuter. Confused

Congratulations on the scan Damson! I've been off work too, 1st trimester appears to be utterly miserable!

Cosmo exciting to hear you're all set and ready to go!

Indi hope you're having baby snuggles now!

Nausea is still terrible, I cracked and went to the doctors yesterday. I could tell I was way dehydrated, my lips were all dry and cracked. I'm off work for the next 2 weeks and have sickness meds so I'm at least getting enough water down now. This is starting to feel less special and magical and more like some self induced purgatory. Sad

IndiX · 05/10/2016 20:42

Hi ladies,
Beanie has arrived!!
Autumn, 7lbs 2oz born at 4.44pm. I'm so madly in love, she's feeding from me as we speak.
I'll catch up tomorrow as I'm bloody knackered and had a bad turn from the spinal. All is ok now though.

Hope you're all well xx

AudreyBradshaw · 05/10/2016 20:51

Congratulations indi Amazing news! You're a Mammy! Lovely name! Hope you're feeling ok and recovery is swift! Much love xxx 💐🎁🎂🍰🍦🎉🎊🌹💗💟👑🎀

Love the name! Congrats indi!! X

Sodasoda · 05/10/2016 21:28

Congratulations indi! Fab news xx

IrregularCommentary · 05/10/2016 21:39

Congratulations Indi! Enjoy those newborn cuddles x

Pinklily1 · 05/10/2016 21:48

Congratulations indi! One more for Team Pink Smile Hope you are ok now and that you have as good a rest as possible tonight.

BunchOfBobs · 05/10/2016 21:50

Congratulations Indi. Absolutely gorgeous name. Rest up and enjoy the snuggles.

I've tried giving Atticus his first dose of gaviscon tonight. Having to do it in a bottle- his first ever bottle. For some reason it's really upsetting me. Like my milk isn't good enough for him as he's not putting on enough weight. (He's gone from 91st to 75th to 50th centile). Fingers crossed the gaviscon sorts it and he feeds more happily rather than fussing.

LillianFullStop · 05/10/2016 22:24

Wow congrats indi!!!! beautiful name - so glad your beanie has arrived and you are both doing well! So happy for you!

bunch I hope the gaviscon helps his fussiness and his weight picks up.

Oh my just cosmo and planet ahead of me now on the list!!!

mayago · 05/10/2016 23:34

Congratulations Indi! I hope you're recovering well, and enjoying those newborn cuddles!

Bunch hope the gaviscon does the trick! I can understand how you feel about Atticus' first bottle. Fingers crossed it's just a little hiccup - your milk has done wonders and you're still my BF inspiration Smile (I mean, come on; who else can do it while standing in a grocery store!!)

Lovely and Canters I hope the sickness is under control soon.

Stardrey what colour are you painting baby's room? That's the one thing I can't wait to do.

It's lovely to hear of Arya's developments potato. Sounds like such a cute thing to watch!

Miley what was breastfeeding in public like? Did you feel like people were watching you more than usual? I think this is something I may struggle a little with.

Hope everyone is having a good week! It's a busy one for me - finally figuring out this new mortgage business with OH on Friday, and looking at a few houses. Then baby show on Saturday, and attempting to get my house in a reasonable, saleable state so I can list it next week. Everything not nailed down and not in use has to be listed on ebay as I've already had several decluttering sessions. I'm pretty jet lagged, so it's going to be an interesting few days..

BunchOfBobs · 06/10/2016 03:06

Haha maya thank you Smile

Potato sounds like Arya is doing amazing,'it just be so lovely to see. Well done Mama.

Miley woohoo for public breast feeding. Was it better than you thought? Did you go with or without the cover in the end?

Nevlet · 06/10/2016 07:24

Congratulations indi!!!

IndiX · 06/10/2016 07:32

Morning ladies,

Oh god I'm so in love with Autumn. the feeling you get when you feed or cuddle them or have them fall asleep on your chest is unbelievableGrin
My first night wasn't too bad, probably got about 3 hours sleep in total as she was feeding quite a bit. About 4.30am I gave her a quick feed and stuck her on my chest to sleep, think I got about 45mins too. She latched on straight away like a little pro too!

Everything went well with the c section however at the end of my surgery my blood pressure dropped too low so I was put on oxygen and monitored for a while. I also have a horrendous itch all over my body, apparently it's a side effect from the morphine. The pain from my tummy isn't too bad but I haven't got up yet. I can't wait for a shower after breakfast.

Will have a read through your posts now, hope you are all doing well.

Mileymoocow · 06/10/2016 07:50

indi it's amazing isn't it Grin something you just can't describe. Congratulations to you, I'm so made up for you, and what a beautiful name.

bunch I went without the cover and just used a muslin to cover a little bit of flesh, it was absolutely fine. I hope the gaviscon worked for Atticus? Did he take a bottle ok? I've tried one with expressed milk in and poor Harrison just can't get the hang of it and milk goes everywhere!

maya One old man did do a double take and I was all ready with my vicious attack but nothing was said and to be honest it probably just looked like I was cuddling him to most. I was so nervous but I will definitely do it more often now I've done it once. It was nice to be able to enjoy a cup of tea whilst he was feeding rather than dash to a toilet to hide away.

We're having a snuggle day today because little man was a milk monster last night. Had me up at half 11, half 1, 4, 6 and just after 7.

Feefeefs · 06/10/2016 08:13

Thanks marmite, pink it seems to have picked up a bit more pace again so hopefully continues!!!

I tried bio oil all my stretch marks appeared whilst I was using it and I got a terrible rash. Using palmers cocoa butter now and it seems better. Stretch marks there now tho but no worse.

Congratulations damson glad you enjoyed the scan.

That sounds very positive co5mo!! Lots of coughing then Grin

Impressed with your public breastfeeding miley I know it'll take me time to work up to it!

Congratulations indi! Lovely name hope you're feeling better soon!

PotatosMum · 06/10/2016 08:35

Indi congrats! Autumn sounds like a perfect little angel. I'm so glad for you that you're loved up already Grin

Audrey had to laugh at the Dexter reference. I so hope you're having a boy Grin

Lovely you're in good company with the sickness, about half of us were off at some point during T1 because of it and a couple of us (me included) spent T1 in bed Confused

Aww Bunch don't feel bad. These things happen x

Lillian yep, it will be your turn soon!!!

Mayo how exciting that you can finally move forward on the house move Smile good luck on the decluttering

6 week HV appointment today, not sure what it covers... It's probably just to make sure I'm not a nervous wreck and Arya looks healthy. I don't actually think HVs know that much more than us at this point Confused
Then we're off for a little walk again. I've decided that before I do any real exercise I need to get my strength back by walking.

What are people using post pregnancy to try and tighten skin and fade stretch marks? My tummy looks like it's covered in the skin of a zombi zebra and I have a very spongy lower tummy Hmm
