Behold, the wonder of birth! Members from 6 weeks bfp to post-partum wonder Mamas! No question to grotty or minging.

We've come full circle from obsessing about cervical mucus to now obsessing if it's our vagina baby plug going! What larks!

Lots of talk about poo, ours and now babies too! Baby brain is REAL! This heat can kiss my arse. And who KNEW being so neurotic about which changing mat to buy could be so satisfying and addictive!

Roll up literally, in my case, cause I'm practically rotund! for TTC #1 Grads!

Leonie what a wonderful update! I'm so glad that things are moving in the right direction. Sounds like your OH and the staff are being very supportive.
Miley hurrah for poo! ! You wouldn't believe how jealous I am Grin.
Im so pleased that you are starting to feel more human Bunch. Thanks for the photo, he is absolutely adorable!
Potato I'm so sorry you are being put through all this. Flowers

Feefeefs · 29/08/2016 20:31

Fingers crossed leonie thinking of you Grin

HepKestrel · 29/08/2016 20:43

thats great news leonie ! fx for the next test.

marmitecheesetoast · 29/08/2016 22:43

Hi all just checking in after a weekend away with very patchy mobile signal. Very glad to be home now and no longer having to pretend I don't feel nauseous / not about to fall asleep!

Still need to catch up properly but that's fantastic news leonie!

Great news too that you don't need any more antibiotics bunch and that it's finally starting to heal properly, you must feel so relieved. Tears and stitches is something that really worries me (as I'm sure it does everyone!)

I think you were saying about peeing in the night drink me too, I wake up like clockwork at 1.30am and 4am sometimes 6am too! I really had no idea before that the frequent weeing thing didn't just start when you have a baby sitting in your bladder!

I've got a choice of two different hospitals in two different trusts and I need to decide which one I want to give birth at. Just wondered if anyone had any advice about how they went about choosing where to go?! Seems a big and somewhat abstract decision to make so early on!

Sodasoda · 29/08/2016 22:44

Evening ladies. I've missed so much again! Back home from wedding weekend finally - relieved to have made the last 2 weekends of friends weddings without giving birth Smile Now gearing up for final 4 days of work.

Leonie it sounds like the little man is doing so well! And so are you!

Bunch great news on the stitches

Potato hope the talk wth your mum and sister goes ok. Just put yourself first. I was on 200mg of labetalol twice a day at the start of pregnancy but my BP has actually dropped so only on it once a day at the moment. Hopefully yours will stabilise and they can drop your dose. I've found labetalol fine and haven't had any side effects with it - I was on a different BP drug before pregnancy.

Lisa - yes, I've been pretty high risk from start! I've seen a kidney consultant every few weeks alongside an obs and gynae consultant who specialises in pregnancy / BP / kidney issues so I've been really well looked after. I'm on antibiotics which I take every day to stop me getting infections plus BP meds. So far, touch wood, everything has been going well. Re baby monitors we've gone for the Angel care brand and we've got a motion / breathing monitor. I doubt we'll need a sound / video as we have a small London flat so we'll be able to hear them! But we got one anyway Smile

Yes to leaky nips! I usually wake up with stains on sheets. Pretty gross. I think someone has already said it but don't squeeze! Our NCT instructor advised us to squeeze if we go overdue to bring on birth!

Can't believe she didn't know she was pregnant irregular! I veer between jealousy that she got given a baby without the stress of pregnancy and just disbelief!

Pink hope the wedding went well. Did you get asked any / all of the following -
How much longer have you got?
Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
How are you feeling?
How are you coping in the heat?
And finally - 'ooh you're big / small for xx weeks'
I felt like hanging a sign round my neck with the answers to the above by the end of Saturday Grin

LillianFullStop · 29/08/2016 23:50

Hi all sorry I've been out of the loop - busy weekend so haven't been able to keep up!

Glad to see the new mum's doing well. leonie good news on Theo being off the tube and your milk coming in! all signs point to you both being home soon SmileBunch glad to hear stitches and infection finally getting the kick and standing ovation for your awesome DH!!! Little Atticus is filling out nicely and at least no more antibiotics to irritate him. Potato sorry to hear the difficulties with your mum. I think you're doing right by putting you and Arya first. Hope this BP issue gets the boot soon! new glad to see everything well with Jacob! Hope the bruising has come down - did the arnica work for you?

hoping all is well with shelbta and that she's enjoying newborn cuddles atm and too busy to post!

Drwhy I managed to find the Mandela swing double for £191 down from £239 so I'm happy!

Good news on the poo miley! Hope the sickness has stayed away too. my poos have had a change in personality and I'm no longer constipated. Instead I'm going twice a day, they are soft (not watery) and urgent. I've taken to calling them emergency poos. I hope holding it in to make it safely to a bathroom counts towards my pelvic floor exercises.

32w now so officially 8 months! LO has taken to kicking my ribs (it bloody hurts!!) and I've taken to attempting weird dance moves to get her to shift. Everyone now comments that 'OMG You are so BIG' yay thanks! have kicked the hospital bag packing up a notch after my friend commented I could pop anytime as she went at 34w. Shock LO things are all ready I just need to get my stuff sorted. Namely - where do I get big pants that will hold maternity pads??

will have to catch up on everyone else but gives a big wave hello! Flowersto anyone ailing and sore.

leoniethelioness · 30/08/2016 02:41

Theo is having jaundice treatment now. 😂

PotatosMum · 30/08/2016 04:06

Miley I used pampers sensitive wipes from day one and the midwives didn't batter an eyelid
Yay for poo!

Bunch glad you don't need any more antibiotics. Hopefully you're on the home stretch now.

Leonie so glad Theo is with you and has his feeding tube out. It's lovely to hear he's doing so well. Is he staying with you while he has his jaundice treatment?

marmite sorry to say the frequent weeing will only get worse Confused
No advice about hospitals, we don't get a choice here. Could you look up reviews online?

Lillian I just got marks and Spenser high leg pants in a size up but bare in mind you may not be in maternity pads long. I had them for a couple of days then changed to regular night time pads as my blood loss was that of a normal period... Hoping it might stop soon!

I forgot to say, I was signed off by the midwife yesterday. Yay! Just the health visitor left now. When we came out of the hospital I was carrying Arya because she doesn't like being in her car seat too long, when I got out of the lift (where a woman couldn't stop cooing over her) there was literally a rollin volley of "aww, tiny baby" as I walked out Grin lol. It was like she was a princess or something, a path opened up in the press of people waiting for the lift and everyone stopped to look at her and sigh as we went past. It was the most surreal experience. ConfusedGrin

I wonder if they'd still be saying aww if they knew that in the past 24 hours she's peed on me, herself and her bed, twice Confused

leoniethelioness · 30/08/2016 06:46

Theo is with me but in an incubator as he was too unsettled in a cot. Day 6 in hospital today. I have never cried so much or had so little sleep before.

Co5mo · 30/08/2016 06:46

Marmite there's a great online site that gives you all the details of the different hospital and comminity units. Can't remember what it's called but it was easy to find through google. What ever you decide you can always change your mind later, just don't leave it too late.

Even Princesses have to pee Potato, and I'm sure they miss theor nappy sometime too. Look after yourself and follow your instincts with your Mum. You're handling all this amazingly well considering.

Feefeefs · 30/08/2016 07:53

Hope thing start to get easier soon leonie.

marmitecheesetoast · 30/08/2016 08:10

Thanks potato and cosmo I've had a look online and found the Which comparison site but wasn't sure how accurate it would be. Plus, one of the hospitals statistics is more out of date than the other Hmm I didn't expect to be given a choice and have to make a decision! That's good if I can maybe change it down the line a little bit, can maybe have a look at both? Anyone else in south Manchester?!

So sorry leonie I can only imagine how tiring and hard it must be just now. Fx you and Theo get home really soon.

Hope you managed to enjoy the wedding soda despite all the questions!

ElleSarcasmo · 30/08/2016 08:22

Morning all!

It sounds like you're doing brilliantly Leonie and Theodore is making good progress. Hope you two don't have to be in too much longer.

Love the monochrome Bunch!

Gorgeous booties and hat Miley, where are they from?

Yay for 32 weeks Lilian!

I would ask your midwife Marmite, mine was very helpful about hospitals.

That's crazy Irregular! She must be in shock! She's definitely having a nicer pregnancy than this one.

I've got the leaky nips too Indi! Definitely no more squeezing for me Shock

Pyxie · 30/08/2016 08:35

I'm in south Manchester marmite, which hospitals are you having to choose from, if you don't mind saying?

Pinklily1 · 30/08/2016 08:52

Morning ladies

Hope you are all well.

Dannii, anymore plug?

Potato, I hope the call goes ok.

I also have the fear about not wanting others to old baby when she comes. I know my PIL will hog her a bit when she arrives and that will irritate me.

Irregular, I can't believe that she didn't know she was pregnant! Was it her first baby?

Woo hoo for the poo Miley!!

I'm glad you are healing well now Bunch, and that your OH is doing nice things for you.

I hope Shelb has baby by now and is enjoying snuggles.

Marmite, re which hospital to go to, I asked friends about their experiences, and also looked into reports and reviews online.

Canters, that's very exciting about Singapore! Like someone else said, it would be a nice holiday destination for your mum, and although its far away its very well served by lots of flights.

Congratulations on 32 weeks Lilian!

Leonie, I hope Theo's treatment is going well and fingers crossed you both get discharged from hospital soon.

The wedding yesterday was a lot of fun, i'm really pleased we went. Soda, yes I got asked all of the questions you mentioned. I also got some horrified looks when people asked when I was due and I said "tomorrow". Their reactions to that question made me chuckle Smile.

I'm 40 weeks today, and still no sign of baby Hmm

HepKestrel · 30/08/2016 09:00

ooh.... lokos like there is a mini NW posse here ! (though i am not South Manchester). I live 0.5 mile from a hospital, so convenience is a large factor for me.

Mileymoocow · 30/08/2016 09:04

leonie brilliant news! So glad you and Theo are doing well! Hopefully you're home soon.

soda I got asked the exact same things at my brothers wedding alllllll day! It was lovely but I also thought I wast worthy of proper conversation because I'm pregnant! Glad you enjoyed yourself though!

marmite I chose the closest hospital to me. It did help that I'd had a cousin and friend that had recently delivered there with no issues! My other cousin had a few problems with them fobbing her off and she very nearly had a born before arrival! So I know to be more forceful.

pink haha I bet the reactions were amazing! I'd love to have seen their faces considering people's reactions at work when I tell them I only have 5 weeks left! It's my grandma I'm concerned about, I feel like I'm going to end up falling out with her big style. She has boundary issues anyway (if you remember me whining about it a while ago). Hope your PIL take a step back and realise it's not acceptable.

elle they're from h&m - they have some seriously amazing stuff in at the moment. I also bought a bambi snow suit from the Disney store which is adorable.

Sorry if I've missed anyone! Had to have a quick catch up before my meetings.

Very much a case of TMI but I leaked actual fluid from my vajay when I got out of bed this morning. So grim! 100% it was just cm and not my waters but I have several spare pads with me at work today. Ew.

Sodasoda · 30/08/2016 09:23

Glad you enjoyed the wedding pink and congrats on 40 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed for you that baby will be here soon.

Miley that's how I felt too - like I had nothing else to say because I was pregnant and that's all anyone else saw too.

Marmite re hospitals - you can check stats but also check how quickly you can get there / parking etc and go from there.

Counting down my work days in terms of tube commutes now. So that's 1 down 7 more to go Smile

Mileymoocow · 30/08/2016 10:12

Lucky you soda! I'm regretting starting ML 5 days before my due date now! I do have 2 weeks annual leave to tag on to the beginning so essentially finish on 16th Sept. Seems like a million years a way still Sad yup! It's like you become void of the ability to hold an adult conversation. I get that people want to talk about it and that's fine - but it's like once they've asked the generic questions they have no idea how to react around you!

HepKestrel · 30/08/2016 10:29

so apparently attempt 3 of taking my bloods had a problem with the label, so i need another blood test this week...

sigh... starting to feel like a pin cushion.... but at least the bruises on my left arm have faded....mostly...

shelbTa · 30/08/2016 11:39

Hi ladies

Just wanted to let you know she's here!!! Born yesterday at 3.39pm, 8lb 5, following a long and traumatic labour. Just got down from hdu this morning so starting to feel more normal. 100% worth it though, she's incredible!!!!!

Xxx

BunchOfBobs · 30/08/2016 11:42

Oh Shelb. Huge congratulations, sorry to hear it was traumatic, I hope you're recovering well.

LisaTheSimpson · 30/08/2016 11:44

Many congrats, Shelb, I'm so happy for you and little shelb!!! Sorry to hear you had a hard time, and I hope you're on the mend (physically and emotionally) and enjoying newborn snuggles).

Danni89 · 30/08/2016 11:46

pink- had a little bit more last night, but nothing this morning so far, had a lot of cramping pains yesterday evening too, got a feeling he'll come before my EDD.
Glad you enjoyed the wedding

miley I have a lot of CM too... The joys of the last trimester

soda yay to nearly finishing work!

leonie sounds like you and Theo are doing amazing, hope you get to go home soon X

Danni89 · 30/08/2016 11:47

Yay congrats shelb!!! Enjoy the snuggles and rest up! Xx
