Although I'm graduating over to the post-natal board, I thought I'd start a new thread as I just noticed we're almost at capacity on the old thread.

Sweep stimulates the production of the labour hormone and can kickstart contractions. Every pain will be doing something. Your body has to 'pull up' the uterus and cervix before you dilate so I am imagining that, from what you are describing, your cervix is softening and effacing. It's all sounding great!!!

AddictedtoGreys · 02/09/2016 10:29

lainey you are giving me hope! I really don't want induction. I also don't want to be pregnant for another week! Grin starting to get scared about giving birth again though. I just need it over with.

plimsolls · 02/09/2016 10:30

addicted that sounds like my experience the 24ish hours before labour started properly. Fingers crossed for you!

plimsolls the pains were waking me through the night, and had a few this morning but not very often at the moment.

plimsolls · 02/09/2016 10:32

Yep, exactly the same as me. Mine started on the Thursday evening, woke me throughout the night, seemed to taper off a bit on the Friday morning (so i then decided the pains were just late pregnancy shifting or due to the baby starting to engage). They returned and gradually gradually ramped up in intensity over the day until id say they were unmistakable contractions/"proper labour" by Friday evening.

AddictedtoGreys · 02/09/2016 10:37

well maybe this will happen for me! And it's Friday today too Grin

AddictedtoGreys · 02/09/2016 13:52

So I have had 10 contractions since 12pm but quite irregular. Spoke to midwife who said if they get to every 4-5 mins to ring back Confused I really hope this is it. Shock

quitecrunchy · 02/09/2016 14:02

Ooh sounds like you've definitely got something going on Addicted. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I've not had any more since last night so back to the walking and seducing DH!

Laineypopps · 02/09/2016 14:30

AddictedtoGreys · 03/09/2016 06:16

My baby girl was born 11.20pm last night, 7lb 9oz. Just about made it into the birthing pool!!

quitecrunchy · 03/09/2016 07:58

Woo hoo congratulations Addicted!! Sounds like you ended up with a nice quick birth after all that! Hope you're recovering well and having a lovely time getting to know the new arrival Smile

My waters broke last night but no labour yet. Booked to go in for induction tomorrow but maybe they'll get me in sooner now if nothing kicks off on its own within 24 hr. So glad that either way we'll finally get to meet our wee girl soon!

LotsOfDots · 03/09/2016 08:17

Quite sore cheese, had a bit of tear right up the labia Shock ouch! Had to have stitches. But she was almost born on the side of the pool as I was pushing when trying to get in. 3 pushes In the pool and she was out Grin

CheeseandGherkins · 03/09/2016 09:49

Addicted that was quick! Hope you aren't too sore though and that the stitches heal quickly. Sounds like you just about made it into the pool! Enjoy your newborn cuddles Smile

plimsolls · 07/09/2016 10:02

She's posted her birth announcement on the FB group so perhaps she'll update on here too.

OP posts:
Laineypopps · 07/09/2016 16:10
