August 2016 babies Thread 7. Come on babies, we're ready for you!

Although I'm graduating over to the post-natal board, I thought I'd start a new thread as I just noticed we're almost at capacity on the old thread.

Hope no one is getting too fed up! I was the last of my antenatal thread to deliver with DD1 - I went into the next month and it was rubbish waiting while everyone else delivered, although we decided as a thread to all wait and move to post natal together - I think the rest of them got fed up waiting!

I am still waiting, 40+2 today. Been having Braxton hicks but nothing really going on. Been out walking a lot the last couple of days trying to get things moving, and been out all day today at a dog show. But still nothing I'm so fed up.

Hi lots and plimsolls thanks for dropping back in to check on us laggards Plimsolls that's great you're starting to feel like yourself again (physically and emotionally). Not looking forward to that stream of visitors, I find that sort of thing tiring at the best of times - daily visitors plus newborn must be absolutely exhausting. At least the novelty will soon wear off for them and you might get a day to yourselves!

Thanks quite I have had some chocolate this evening actually still nothing going on though apart from a couple of bouts of diarrhoea today but nothing since 4.30pm.

40+10 here and been having period like pains since yesterday but nothing's increased. Can't believe I'm still pregnant!! However it would be good if my little one comes on sept 1st to make her the eldest in her year, I just didn't have it in my head that she would be a September baby! Oh well, trying to make the most of my last few days of peace

lou my labour started with a day of period pains! (I assumed they were just late pregnancy aches for ages though )

Plimsolls I've given up hope that it will actually happen!! Every time I've had pains they've faded away in 12-24 hours, these have faded a bit but still definitely there. Until it seriously starts up I'm not guessing anymore, I'm so fed up

Sympathies lou, this waiting is chronic. Are you booked to go in morning or afternoon tomorrow?

Just been for a sweep that didn't quite happen. She couldn't get in to sweep the membranes cos my stupid cervix isn't at all dilated. Also it's posterior, still not shortened and baby has decided to arrange herself in a more awkward position. FFS!

Booked in for 4 tomorrow so hopefully by the time everything's sorted and on its way it will be September. I don't mind if she's been holding out to be the eldest in her year

That's good there's an up side at least lou! Looks like I'm in for a September baby too but our cut off up here is Feb/March so she'll be mid year regardless. Best of luck tomorrow if nothing kicks off on its own before that.

Yeah can't imagine anything will kick off now!! Looks like I'm deffo in for an induction. That spoilt my plan of a waterbirth . Oh well, at least I'll be meeting my little girl in the next few days!!

Don't give up hope Addicted there's still time! Is this your first? I read recently that 1st babies arrive on average 4 days after due date, 2 days for subsequent DCs. Not that knowing that really helps when you're bloody fed up and every day feels like an eternity!

Lou I can imagine your disappointment, I've been hoping for a water birth too but it's looking less likely now. As you say, just gotta concentrate on the fact we WILL meet these little mischief-makers soon, no matter how keen they seem to be to stay in utero. Hope things progress quickly and smoothly for your induction and we get to hear about the arrival of your wee girl soon!

quite no this is my 2nd DC, my DS arrived 12 days early! So I am quite surprised and disappointed that this one is so much later than him. I am 40+4 tomorrow.

So update, woke about 3am this morning with wet pants in bed. Called midwife who said to wear a pad and get some rest. Had tightening a bit not painful every 15 minutes from then, had about an hour sleep. Woke up at 6.15am and had lost some plug. Called back at 6.30 and they told me to go in and get checked in case it was waters. So have been in and they said it isn't waters, but from everything they can see and what I have told them labour should start pretty soon!! Fingers crossed!!

Oh greys that is exactly how my labour started with my first baby! Get bouncing on your ball, if you are up to it then get a bit jiggy as it can really start things off, go for a big walk! I really, really hope this is it for you! Good luck!

Nothing happening at the moment plimsolls. Just trying to keep busy and take my mind off it all. Midwife said could be today or in the next couple of days. X
