May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

The blood tests are done at your booking appointment. So that's probably what that is? Where I live it's the booking appointment first then midwife makes scan appointment and letter comes much later.

I've actually got a midwife appointment on Monday to organise an early scan as there's a bit of confusion over my dates.

Sipperskipper · 09/09/2016 07:49

Sonnet I just got sent blood forms in the post and had to book online for a blood test at a local health centre. Midwife won't be there, its just phlebotomy.

Imagine I will probably hear from mw aftee that.

Run247 · 09/09/2016 08:49

Thanks Rabbity & Sonnet, glad we are at least in the same situation..! The info on my appointment letter doesn't mention anything expect the blood test and the scan, so maybe I'll call the hospital to confirm what it's all meant to be. Their website doesn't explicitly give a standard process. But they printed me a colour map of the appointment location which I thought was super helpful :)

MissMooMoo · 09/09/2016 11:51

Not sure when I will phone the GP to get referred,I am anxious as last pregnancy ended with a mc,although I am aware that the maternity units in my area have lots of people using them (we have the youngest population in the country!)

Today I have lower back cramps and tons of post nasel drip! It is never ending,is this normal?!

Rabbitykins55 · 09/09/2016 12:00

This week I have been constantly hungry, is this normal?

Sipperskipper · 09/09/2016 12:23

Me too rabbity and even worse after dinner. Trying to keep myself in check though as am already a bit overweight...just tucking into an early lunch!

Rabbitykins55 · 09/09/2016 12:33

I had two lunches yesterday and just got a salad to bulk today's lunch out! Luckily I've gone off sweet stuff and want vegetables all the time. Weird!

Sonnet18 · 09/09/2016 12:54

I've eaten a lot too!! But I'm pretty greedy so it's not hugely unusual for me! Make the most of it before the nausea kicks in- I think it's most common (though could come before) at around the 6 week mark. If my sickness is anything like last time then I may cry...

talulahbelle · 09/09/2016 13:09

I've had waves of nausea this morning, they go if I eat. And I'm getting the start of pregnancy mouth too, a horrible sour/metallic/weird taste.
Anyone else still POAS? I did another today just to check the line is still getting darker.

Rabbitykins55 · 09/09/2016 13:49

Oh I'm so glad I'm not alone. Was beginning to wonder if I had worms!Grin

2sCompany · 09/09/2016 15:00

I am talulah. Think I've done about 10 in the last week Blush I bought 2 more £1 packs yesterday as well. Somehow I'm still not convinced it's real! Glad it's not only me Smile

CinnamonTwist · 09/09/2016 15:26

Wow this thread moves quickly! 2scompany my Mum keeps saying that I should tell them I'm really anxious to get an early dating scan etc etc but I don't want to make a fuss and have my MW think I'm over reacting. Sipper I was really relaxed last time, this time I'm constantly on edge wondering if I'm feeling crap enough, if my boobs hurt less, if I've started bleeding, I am doing my own head in, don't know how DH is putting up with me Blush
On the plus side, only 2wks til my booking in appointment, when's everyone else's? I think it'll get more real once appointments start Grin

2sCompany · 09/09/2016 16:07

I agree with your mum cinnamon. I'm sure health professionals would much rather you tell them so they can help you. Especially if you've had a previous miscarriage. It's not doing your baby any favours for you to be stressed and anxious either chick. Don't worry about making a fuss x

fempsych · 09/09/2016 16:22

Hi all, can I join in. 1-2 weeks pregnant and baby no 2. Been a bit of a journey and have a higher risk of miscarriage so have all fingers and toes crossed

Sonnet18 · 09/09/2016 17:09

Don't worry about being a pain. I phoned up and have been given an appointment on Monday and then will get an early scan organised. I was a bit insistent and midwife was lovely and very understanding. My actual booking appointment is 23rd September though.

2sCompany · 09/09/2016 17:44

Welcome fem Smile

Hope you've got a sticky one there! Fingers crossed for you.

teainbed · 09/09/2016 19:06

Evening all and hello to anyone new.

Kind of funny it being Friday night and not opening a bottle of wine! Grin

VioletWillow · 09/09/2016 21:46

I've started bleeding so am going to assume I am out too - hopefully we have reached the quota of failed ones so the rest of you are super sticky! My best wishes to all of you x

Sipperskipper · 09/09/2016 22:15

Sorry to hear that violet. Take care xx

talulahbelle · 10/09/2016 07:11

Oh no violet I'm so sorry. Look after yourself.

Welcome fem fingers crossed for a smooth 9 months for you.

I've woken up today feeling less sick than yesterday, and I didn't wake in the middle of the night to www as I have been. So now worrying about the lack of symptoms. I wish I could fast forward to 12 weeks.

DD has babyballet this morning, so that will be a distraction at least.

Sonnet18 · 10/09/2016 07:20

Sorry to hear that violet that's just awful news. Hope you're feeling ok.

talulah I'm feeling pretty symptomless as well. Boobs aren't even particularly sore. However, I do remember this with dd and all was well. My "real" symptoms didn't hit until six weeks. And even then, they fluctuated and came and went. The midwife told me that your body gets a rush of hormones which cause symptoms as your body can't deal with hormone overload, then your body adjusts so you lose the intensity of symptoms...then more hormones, more symptoms...that make sense? It reassured me!

MissMooMoo · 10/09/2016 09:27

violet very sorry to hear

ginandcake · 10/09/2016 09:33

Sorry to hear that Violet, it's rotten. Flowers

talulahbelle · 10/09/2016 12:24

Well it's not been a good day so far.
DD spent all of her dance class clinging to me and crying when the instructor looked at her.
And the pharmacy didn't have the hormonal support drugs in I ordered on Wednesday. I need them as this is an IVF pregnancy. So I'm feeling a bit stressed. Back in tomorrow afternoon and hopefully they'll be there.

TheOracleAtSelfie · 10/09/2016 15:52

Sorry violet, take good care of yourself.

talulah oh rubbish. How old is your DD?

Terrible night last night with DD so DH has taken her out this afternoon, am on the sofa watching Call The Midwife (I've never seen it!) and eating too much food
