May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

loz you don't know anything yet- with my first pregnancy the symptoms came and went. I would have a few days which were symptomless and then morning sickness and fatigue hit with a vengeance!! Fingers crossed all is ok

Newlywed56 · 07/09/2016 16:59

Has anyone any reassurances of when they get ill in first Trimester? Caught a d&v bug from dc1 which has lasted a couple of days now Sad, don't think there's much to do except keep hydrated?

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/09/2016 17:01

loz what they said - lots of people have spotting and all turns out absolutely fine, ditto symptoms. Hoping it's just your body playing tricks on you, good luck xx

Ghostonthedancefloor · 07/09/2016 17:03

I am in the midst of a massive fright. Severe cramps started lunchtime, literally doubled over and groaning like labour, cried to the doctor and was sent home and signed off for a few days. They have subsided slightly now and there has been no blood but my god I'm scared. I really don't want to lose my baby Sad

loz12345 · 07/09/2016 17:27

Thanks all

Ghost no bleeding is good I will keep everything crossed.

Thanks for all your reassuring words, it's not looking good tho bleeding more and it feels exactly last time, but I am trying to stay positive.

I feel better now dh is home and mum is about to drop ds home so we can all get in bed and have a snuggle watching bake off tonight.

Whatever happens i am lucky to have ds and if he going to be an only then it's fine so am I, just not prepared to spend anymore of his childhood worrying about getting pg then worrying about mc, if he is an only one I don't want to regret not being focuses on him and on occasion being downright awful to live with.

Sorry it's a long post but whatever happens it will b fine if this one sticks then that would be amazing if not I am ok with that too and am going to count my blessings.

Will let u know how I get on on Friday, but I am fed up of myself now so everyone else must be so am going to spend tomorrow watching rubbish tv x x

Sonnet18 · 07/09/2016 17:48

You sound like you have a really sensible and sensitive attitude, loz, I really respect that.
ghost that sounds really scary. Fingers crossed all is well.

Anyone going for early scan? If so, when? I want to go for one before I'm back at work but I would only be about 7ish weeks by then. Everything I am reading is telling me to wait until 8 weeks...would 7 be too soon? The reason I want to go before I am back to work is in case of any bad news...I don't want to return to work then go off a week or two later...any thoughts are appreciated and I am happy to pay private.

Sipperskipper · 07/09/2016 17:58

Thinking positive thoughts for you ghost, and thinking of you loz. Rubbish TV sounds like a good plan!

sonnet I am having harmony test which includes early scan at 10 weeks. The private ultrasound clinic near me does early scans from 6 weeks - these cost £70.

talulahbelle · 07/09/2016 18:14

I've got a viability scan books when I'll be 7 weeks exactly, we should all being well be able to see the heartbeat then.

loz I'm so sorry, I hope you are wrong, but if not then yes do have extra cuddles with your DS.

ghost I hope the pain doesn't reoccur and the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

Rabbitykins55 · 07/09/2016 18:23

I've found a clinic that does early abdominal scans so I'm going to book one in a couple of weeks when I'll be 8 weeks. If it turns out to be internal I'm going to be disappointed!

Best wishes to everyone!

teainbed · 07/09/2016 18:39

ghost how scary hope you're ok now

loz fingers crossed for you too.

Well both yesterday and today I have had a massive 'oh my god what the fuck have I done!' wobble. I went to visit a friend with her 3 day old baby and she was exhausted, tearful, struggling with feeding, I felt so sorry for her but at the same time I was like what have I done?? Life was FINE why I am throwing myself into this again! Well I know why I'm doing it but it's such a scary feeling. Yesterday I listened to a relaxation App I've got and the feeling passed but it's just niggling away at me. Sad

Sonnet18 · 07/09/2016 19:08

Thanks everyone. I'm planning to go in three weeks when I should be over 7 weeks. Hoping the heartbeat will be visible/audible? by then.

Ghostonthedancefloor · 07/09/2016 19:30

Thank you all it has subsided I've just been a worried mess all day.

loz I'm sorry I completely missed your post in my panic :-( I hope it only stays as spotting, life can be so cruel

ginandcake · 07/09/2016 20:31

Hope everything is OK for Friday loz and it just stays at spotting. I think a day of crap TV sounds perfect. Glad you're feeling better Ghost, these first 12 weeks can be so scary. Its so nice when you can see the heart beat. Our local private scanner does abdominal scans from 7 weeks so we've booked one for when I'm 7+3 ish. Just need to get childcare sorted. Don't want to tell the DDs yet and if we take DD1 she'll cotton on for sure! When is everyone planning to tell their other DC, if you have them?

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/09/2016 20:50

ghost I had the most awful cramps when pregnant with DD in the first few weeks which would literally leave me curled up on the floor and whimpering. She's now a strapping toddlerWink Really hope you feel better soon.

gin My DD is only just 17 months, think once we've had the 12 week scan we'll start talking to her about mummy having a baby in her tummy and getting some books to get her used to the idea. She has a dol which she rocks, wears in a sling, pretends to breastfeed etc but it also gets dropped an alarming amount on its head Confused

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/09/2016 20:51

loz look after yourself with lots of WineBrewCakeBiscuitChocolate

Sipperskipper · 07/09/2016 21:22

Sorry if a bit 'tmi', but has anyone experienced a bit of an increase in discharge? Its thick and white- not loads and loads, but a bit more than usual. Anything to worry about do you think?

Rabbitykins55 · 07/09/2016 21:46

Sipper I haven't but I read about it last week, apparently it's a sign of early pregnancy. Smile I think it was on the nhs website but can't be 100% sure.

Sipperskipper · 07/09/2016 22:01

Ahh yes ive seen a few bits after some googling, thank you. All these changes in our bodies- hard to know whats normal!

Rabbitykins55 · 07/09/2016 22:22

I've been trying not to Google stuff because it frightens me! I watched some videos on the NHS website last week. ShockConfused wish I hadn't. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Might reconsider watching the next series of one born every minute!

Other than a few symptoms I don't feel pregnant. Is that even a thing? I thought I'd feel different.

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/09/2016 22:38

rabbity my vehement advice is do NOT watch OBEM! As someone who works in the birth field I can promise you it's a load of rubbish. Google lovely positive birth stories / videos instead.

BeanSpr0ut · 07/09/2016 23:29

I have a lovely positive birth story! I find OBEM a bit dramatic!
loz and ghost - sending hugs. Fingers crossed everything's OK.

Sonnet18 · 08/09/2016 05:44

Don't watch one born!!! I avoided it all through my pregnancy and very much enjoyed the ignorance. My labour was not the best...had I watched one born I would maybe have panicked if I knew certain things!
Ps- discharge is normal. Gets worse Blush buy panty-liners and wear old pants!

ginandcake · 08/09/2016 05:53

Discharge is totally normal, and just gets worse!

I really enjoyed watching OBEM when I was pregnant, and I liked getting DH to watch it! I know what you mean though, it does just show the horror stories, perfect birth experiences are not exciting enough!

Sipperskipper · 08/09/2016 06:22

Ahh thanks everyone, very reassuring. Rabbity I don't really feel pregnant either, apart from slightly sore boobs which feel less sore now (although I may just be getting used to it!)

My mum said she felt no different, just a bit tired.

No way am I going to watch OBEM- I'm far too terrified! I will probably look in to hypnobirthing later on. Claims are a bit wild but certainly think it would help me feel less anxious! Every little helps!
