May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Not planning on telling anyone for as long as possible here. Also, got offered a job the very same day I got my first bfp, so bit of a mixed blessing and not sure whether to say anything til absolutely necessary. This is my 4th, so not confident I'm going to be able to hide it for very long Confused

Very interested to hear about the early scans. Will look into it. Am paranoid about things going wrong as we've been trying for ages and I'm 36 (37 when baby, hopefully, comes).

Lovely to have all you ladies to chat to and support each other.

Sipperskipper · 06/09/2016 16:55

Congratulations on the new job 2s - what an amazing day that must have been!

BeanSpr0ut · 06/09/2016 17:01

I'm feeling the fatigue and weakness if I don't eat on schedule. Exactly the same as last time. I had no morning sickness last time. Fingers crossed this time is the same. My only woe is horrific Spd after the 20 week mark. I'm already getting a twinge in my sciatic nerve argh.

teainbed · 06/09/2016 17:09

Afternoon all.

Very sorry to hear your news dustpan take care of yourself.

Welcome everyone new, too many to namecheck!

I'm exhausted, just so tired.

I have an early viability scan booked (NHS) but that's because I have diabetes. Will be nice to get the reassurance if things are progressing though I think they've booked it too early to see much. I'm undecided about the Harmony, I was really keen a week ago now I'm not sure.

2sCompany · 06/09/2016 17:39

Thanks slipper Smile Don't think I stopped smiling all that day. Although like I say, I'm totally addicted to testing because it still doesn't seem real. Then again... my poor, poor boobs - they're like giant, aching bruises with drawing pins where my nipples should be!

Same as you bean and tea - feel like I could close my eyes every time I sit down. But sleeping really badly at night with really vivid and detailed dreams.

Still, its all for a good cause Grin

2sCompany · 06/09/2016 17:41

(sorry... should say sipper, not slipper!)

Sipperskipper · 06/09/2016 17:58

Haha! I havent got much in the way of symptoms...boobs slightly sore...a bit tired (but I'm always tired after work anyway!) And no real nausea or anything. I have done LOADS of tests, but have told myself to stop now!

Jingles80 · 06/09/2016 19:15

I can sympathise with sore boobs and tiredness! Am Weeing A LOT plus having really vivid, dramatic dreams. I can take all that but is it normal to have stomach cramps as bad as period pain? I've been having them for just under a week-sometimes a dull ache, other times a short throb. Online advice is mixed as to whether its normal or not. What do you guys think? Is this normal?

Sipperskipper · 06/09/2016 19:25

jingles ive had the same for last few days- like the sort of twinges i get pre-period. Not cramp as such, but a proper sharp twinge. Weirdly it seems to be of an evening.

My friend (has an 18mo ds) experienced similar and described it well- 'like something is going on down there'.

Sounds awful but I'm just telling myself if it is something going wrong, there's nothing I can do. Its the only way for me to not go loopy!

Sonnet18 · 06/09/2016 20:14

I have slightly cramps from time to time. Had them for about the first 4 months of my first pregnancy. Very normal for me!

talulahbelle · 06/09/2016 20:31

I'm worrying about symptoms here too. With chasing after DD I am just not noticing any in the day. But then again my boobs are sore, I am waking 2/3 times overnight to pee and definitely have vivid dreams. The occasional crampy pain, plus the lines on the tests are getting nicely darker.

Remembering how bad I was last time I really shouldn't be wishing myself nausea, no doubt it will arrive soon enough.

Updated stats! Sorry if I've missed anyone out.
Tomorrow I am 4 weeks pregnant, hopefully I won't be the bottom of the list for long.

Jingles80 · 06/09/2016 20:46

Thanks ladies. Sipperskipper I think you're right, if its meant to hold on then it will. Sonnet that's reassuring that you have had them too and that it's ok if they go on. This being our first bfp from about 14 months trying I'm feeling a little anxious!

Talulahbelle they sound like a good set of symptoms to me!

2sCompany · 06/09/2016 21:05

You missed me out talulah!

I've had a dull ache on and off, like pre-period feeling too. From what I understand it can be your uterus stretching and things taking hold as it were. I think there is only cause to worry if accompanied by bleeding. But don't quote me on that! I'm the same as you all, worrying about every twinge. And I should know what's going on really. But every pregnancy is different.

BeanSpr0ut · 06/09/2016 21:18

I have also had cramping. I had what I thought was period cramps on Friday. Then nothing, yesterday I was 4 days late and started getting cramps and an ache on one side, assumed period but bought tests anyway. I've had what I can only describe as an 'aching faff' as well...

Northernexile · 06/09/2016 22:14

Still no real symptoms here, but MY GOD, the weird dreams! Last night I was dreaming I was at my Drs appointment to get referred to the midwife. She asked me how many weeks I was and I told her nearly seven, but it must be more as I can see the baby's hands and feet poking out under my skin. Then I showed her the waving hands/feet. Then I woke up in a bit of a cold sweat needing a wee. It was so real it took me a minute to realise I am actually only nearly seven weeks.

I had my Drs appointment today and waiting for my booking / scan date which will be between 10-13 weeks. So might only have three weeks to wait (expect it will be nearer six though!).

CinnamonTwist · 07/09/2016 07:01

sipper it's stretching pains, I had a MC last time and trust me there's a big difference between the two pains, the stretching pains I find are like I get before AF but sort of 'sharper' the MC pains were like really really strong period pains. I find I notice the stretching pains more at night, maybe because there's no distractions?

I'm with you guys on the dreams, vivid and mostly not very nice - fire and lightening was one of them! Only had one nice ish one which involved there being real life Beatrix potter drawings everywhere, and even that one was creepy!

CinnamonTwist · 07/09/2016 07:20

Sorry I meant jingle'

TheOracleAtSelfie · 07/09/2016 12:08

I had awful cramps last time around, and this time I've been getting twinges / a few stretching feelings / feeling that stuff is "happening". Discomfort is usually normal but if you feel worried always go and get checked out.

I feel mildly hungover today. Eating beans on toast for lunch!

Feeling ok at the moment other than having a cold and being a bit tired. Seem to have really sensitive smell this time which I didn't have before. I could smell our kitchen bin from a few rooms away and DH seems to think I am going mad!

I feel a lot more relaxed this time but also less excited. I guess that's normal. Have my GP appt tomorrow so hopefully get midwife one in a couple of weeks and scan before we go on holiday end Oct. I feel like I'm wishing the weeks away at this stage

CinnamonTwist · 07/09/2016 13:05

Is anyone else permanently hungry? I am SO hungry all the time, and if I don't eat something I feel more sick, it's a vicious cycle!

loz12345 · 07/09/2016 13:55

I only posted once but I think I am out this time ladies, have a scan to confirm it booked on Fri I should be 7 weeks today but all symptoms have disappeared along with spotting.

Good luck ladies hopefully next May you will all be having lovely baby snuggles x x x

hanflan · 07/09/2016 14:06

loz spotting is very very common in early pregnancy, please don't count yourself out too soon! Only start to worry if it's heavy bright red bleeding, along with bad cramping. Really hoping the scan shows a healthy bean!

hanflan · 07/09/2016 14:07

cinnamon no, my appetite has actually decreased! I think it's all the progesterone making me feel full and bloated haha

loz12345 · 07/09/2016 14:17

Thanks Han, I have everything crossed too, to say it wasn't planned didn't know how much I wanted another I though the last mc would have put me off.

Just so I am not all doom and gloom my ds who is 6 was conceived 2 weeks after my first mc and I had a brill pregnancy so fingers crossed u will all be as lucky x x
