May 2017 - anybody out there?

Hi

I just found out at the weekend that I'm pregnant, this will be no. 2. Had no idea how far gone I was as I had just had AF 7th Aug but after a very early scan this morning it looks like I've conceived since then...very surprised as HPT is seriously strong and I got 5 +ve OPK's last week which by the scan I would have only just conceived at that point.

Very much a waiting game at the moment and back in 2 weeks for another scan. If I am indeed only 3 weeks then I have pretty much the same due date as I had for my DD Grin only 1 year apart. Let the crazy times commence!

Anyone else this early in pregnancy and due in May 2017?

Hello all, I would like to join please! My due date is 7th May, this will be my third DC, last time I followed my club but never posted so this time, I'm saying hi from the beginning :) symptoms wise aren't too bad, some nausea, what feels like the beginning of SPD (already!) and a smaller appetite. We shall see what develops over the next few weeks. I'm wishing everyone luck, and sending my love to the two who have left xx

TheMildManneredMilitant · 05/09/2016 08:46

Congrats and welcome violet

Just been reading one of those pregnancy tracker apps and getting the rage. It includes such lines such as 'if you're tired ask your partner to help out with some of the household chores' (because it's obviously our responsibility) and [for dad] 'if she's experiencing cravings, help her find some healthful alternatives to appease her appetite' (because we really need our other halfs managing our diet when all we can eat without puking is cheese and onion crisps). Grrrr. I do quite like knowing however that the baby is the size of a poppy seed, so swings and roundabouts and all that Grin.

talulahbelle · 05/09/2016 10:17

Most annoying symptom so far?
I woke in the night to pee maybe 3 times. I know this is going to continue all the way through, with maybe a brief respite in the second trimester. Just as we'd got DD sleeping through the night too.

Im otherwise bar a few cramps feeling surprisingly good today, which is of course another source of worry.

teainbed · 05/09/2016 11:27

Those Apps are just rubbish aren't they? Think I've got the same one. They seem to have to fill space with 'content' that is usually wrong, or unrealistic or just annoying. Also like the poppy seed type facts but the majority of it is nonsense. I notice you have to 'check with your healthcare provider' for virtually every symptom too which lets face it is unlikely to happen!

Also peeing lots a lot night. The joys!

BasilTheCat · 05/09/2016 12:30

Can I join too? EDD 4th May 2017 with DC#1.
And can anyone recommend anything for nausea? Plain toast every morning is getting a bit dull...

TheOracleAtSelfie · 05/09/2016 13:15

basil Cold apples and ready salted crisps were my saviours last time. Also sparkling water with loads of lemon juice.

TheOracleAtSelfie · 05/09/2016 13:18

I've just been re-reading this whilst DD napped, I really recommend it to first timers. Super sensible, evidence based book looking at pregnancy advice and explaining what is backed up by good research and what isn't.

May 2017 - anybody out there?
Rabbitykins55 · 05/09/2016 15:17

Thanks for the recommendation Oracle.

Are maternity pillows worth the money? My boobs are so sore at the moment I'm having to wedge something under to sleep! Sad if they are worth it which one would you recommend? Thank you!

Dustpan · 05/09/2016 15:50

IceNoSlice · 05/09/2016 20:55

VioletWillow you have inspired me to post. I have been lurking here for a week or so (I just read that back - I'm not a wierdo - honest).

So hello all. EDD 14 May, dc3. Will C&P the list of I can on my mobile.

So sorry to those whose beans were not sticky this time. Take care xx

It is my biggest one's first day of school tomorrow and I'm feeling rather emosh!

Northernexile · 05/09/2016 21:22

Hi Ice! Congrats and welcome! My biggest one started school last week too, she adored it, felt so proud seeing her trot in in her little uniform. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!

VioletWillow · 05/09/2016 22:46

Militant thank you for the welcome 😊 Icenoslice (great name) no problem! I meant to introduce myself when I was pregnant with DD and lurked so long it would have been seriously weird to introduce myself - and it was a real shame as I followed from the beginning. I'm glad you came on board 😊
Dustpan I am so so sorry. That's really shit. I hope you get through it ok and can get back on board real soon.

VioletWillow · 05/09/2016 22:48

I just noticed the first day of school - gosh! I hope they do great. My oldest is starting his GCSEs this year! I am feeling decidedly odd about it, it makes me feel very old 😃

Sonnet18 · 06/09/2016 06:49

Hi everyone, can I join?
Got my bfp on Saturday at roughly 10dpo and edd is 13th May. This is my second child- got a 7 month old baby already.

Had a quick scroll through the thread and really sorry to those whose pregnancies haven't worked out. It's awful - so very sad.

BeanSpr0ut · 06/09/2016 08:22

So I've just had a quick skim read so far. Congratulations to all the ladies with a good sticky bean. So sorry to hear about the losses Sad

I got my positive this morning, I'm about 5 days late. Pregnant with DC2. DC1 is 2.5

Really quite shocked that I've gotten pregnant so quick (3 months TTC). It took 11 months with DC1!

hanflan · 06/09/2016 09:53

Just checking in after the weekend to be greeted with lots of sad news, I am so sorry ladies Flowers
Still no symptoms here. Feels wierd, I don't feel pregnant at all, feel like a fraud!

CinnamonTwist · 06/09/2016 10:48

I definitely feel pregnant this time round - I feel like crap!! It's like having a constant hangover without the headaches, or the fun drinking Hmm Today I am trying the travel sickness wristbands, which seem to be helping. Although I must remember not to take my cardigan off or roll up my sleeves in the office...For once I am glad of the air con wars!!

hanflan · 06/09/2016 11:18

My sickness didn't kick in until 8 weeks last time so I'm making the most of it. It was brutal and went on for the whole pregnancy :(
Only benefit was that I actually lost weight rather than gained!
