Mine is Wednesday Tutu. Already had early scans at 6 and 8 weeks though.

WelliesAndCake · 14/08/2016 17:51

Mine's the day after yours Tutu - 23rd. I'm so excited and anxious all at the same time!

tutulove1 · 14/08/2016 18:04

Ah Alpha I was so tempted to have an early scan this time (I've never had one before) but didn't get round to it. You'll be amazed how much baby has grown by 12 weeks.
Wellies ah congrats on your impending scan, that's exactly how I feel, excited and anxious. Thankfully by chance my appointment is at 9am as anything after that can mean waiting round for hours. My parents have kindly offered to have the kids on Sunday eve/Monday day so we can go to the scan just the two of us. I haven't told the kids yet just wanted to make sure all was ok first xx

greentreeseverywhere · 14/08/2016 18:30

How long before the 12 week scan did everyone get their appointment? I'm 9 +2 and waiting for the letter to come through the letter box everyday! Hoping it's a friday/Saturday so my dh can come along and i don't have to worry about my work either! Has anyone changed theirs was it easy?

tutulove1 · 14/08/2016 18:37

Greentrees we don't get letters here, the midwife give us a call to book it in. If your 9+2 Id give them a call and ask them when your appointment is just for peace of mind. My midwives are very flexible but I've never heard of a Saturday appointment I'm sure people will correct me though and say you can get them. Have you got a scan date yet?

charlybs · 14/08/2016 18:39

I think it my 12 week scan gets booked in at my booking appt, which is tomorrow.

I have to have a scan the week I get back from honeymoon as I'll be 13 weeks by then!

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 18:40

tutu My scan is on Friday (5 days to go!)

green I had my booking in appointment at 7 weeks and got a scan letter about a week after that. I was hoping to change the date from a Thursday to a Friday, and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. I just called them and asked.

neonrainbow · 14/08/2016 18:43

My scan is tomorrow morning!!! I know theres no reason to think anything will have gone wrong i just want to make sure they're still in there and developing as they should.

tutulove1 · 14/08/2016 18:47

Charly how far along are you now?
Honeymoon? I must have missed that memo congrats. Oh I do hope your sickness has cleared up before then.
Namechange you must be the next one in the group to have the 12 week scan then? Bet you can't wait, lovely start to your weekend.
We always celebrate with a nice lunch out after the scans, really celebrate the moment.

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 18:51

tutu
It looks like there are 3 of us having 12 week scans next week: neon on Monday, alpha on Wednesday and me on Friday!
I don't work on Fridays and DH is taking the day off so we can celebrate afterwards if all is well. A nice lunch out is exactly what I had in mind! And I'd like to buy something for the baby Smile Mum is itching to buy stuff (it's her first grandchild) but I've given her strict instructions to wait until after my scan!

tutulove1 · 14/08/2016 18:51

Oops cross post with neon.
Neon enjoy every moment of your double scan. Your having TWINS has it sunk in yet? I'm just Watsapp (ing) my friend double buggy advice she's having twins and is 16 weeks, exciting times. I had a double for my two (17 months apart) so I know a thing or two about double buggys ha ha

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 18:53

Would people be interested in a stats spreadsheet if I start one? It's impossible to keep up with everyone's details so stats would be handy I think!

noisy, that sounds absolutely rotten - I hope the meds work and that you don't end up having to suffer all the way through.

Interesting about blood flow - I hadn't thought about that. mushrooms - YY, the 'cramping' element seems obvious. It's slightly odd for us sometimes, because you get the impression they're giving you advice that might be based on assumptions about PIV - and it doesn't apply to us exactly, so you end up in a grey area just hoping you're doing the right things and avoiding the wrong ones!

Anyway, DP's still sick, but carbs are really working for her, and lots of little meals too, so I am crossing my fingers for her.

charley - oh, how exciting! Are you actually getting married soon, or is this a postponed honeymoon? Hope you are off somewhere lovely.

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 18:55

LRD Maybe the midwife was too embarrassed to warn you against using massive dildos Grin

alphabook · 14/08/2016 18:57

Go for it NameChange! Would be good to be able to keep up with where everyone is at.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 14/08/2016 19:02

12 week scan for us on Wednesday morning. Really looking forward to it as we haven't told either of our parents yet so we're planning to go straight round when they're home from work in the evening and show them the scan pictures and tell them 😊 Fingers crossed everything is as it should be for all of us who have scans this week!

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 19:02

Done! Here is the link, please add your stats:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tl0V5sekPH5I0Rzw0Y5b4-NXmpb7jUV4mjw4YsyP3ZU

I suggest we list in order of due date (so I've put myself near the top! Wink)

Ah good for you namechange, savour every moment. All you'll do is sit there and stare at the picture together over and over again!! it is AMAZING how developed the baby is at 12 weeks!! it's little legs kicking, it's little arms moving frantically, a little person right before your eyes.
I'm so excited for everyone.

Cloeycat · 14/08/2016 19:09

I actually found it really difficult to change mine, the lady on the phone was really rude. I was originally supposed to have mine on the 23rd (12+5) but I am away with work that day and asked to change, she insisted that the only other option was the 30th (13+5) but it might be too late to see anything (!?! Refused to explain to late for what). When I asked about possibilities of changing to this week (12 weeks on Thurs) she said that would be too early and I would have to be rescanned again. None of the exchange made much sense to me but by then was quite upset (she also made fun of my name and accent- I'm Irish) so just went along with the 30th despite it meaning I'll have to call in sick from another work trip.

CatalinaFuckingWineMixer · 14/08/2016 19:13

Thanks for the stats sheet namechange I've put my due date as it is from LMP, I fairly sure it will be later after my scan though due to my cycle length.

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 19:14

Thanks tutu Smile

Cloey How unprofessional and rude of her to make fun of you being Irish Angry If you know her name you should consider mentioning it to PALS. And the 12 week scan can be done at any time between 11 and 13 weeks. I'd call back and see if you get someone else who is more helpful!

OP posts:
neonrainbow · 14/08/2016 19:15

Tutulove i think we are going to go for the phil and ted voyager as it seems well made easy to use and fits in the car!!

alphabook · 14/08/2016 19:16

That's awful Cloey, I probably would have asked to speak to someone in charge. You can have a 12 week scan from about 10-11 weeks onwards, so that's a load of rubbish!

Cloeycat · 14/08/2016 19:20

I've tried to rationalize it like she might have had a shit morning, I was particularly emotional that morning but thinking back on the conversation she laughed at my name and then asked me when I arrived in the country and if I was planning a termination... Which I feel can't be a normal question when scheduling a 12 week scan? Maybe I'm just paranoid, was anyone else asked that?

NameChange30 · 14/08/2016 19:22

Cloey Fucking hell Cloey. PLEASE complain about her. (No it's very far from normal!)
