Thread five for the chattiest bunch of preggers ladies you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. We're greeting the second trimester with excitement and apprehension, and lots of questions, humour, reassurance, empathy and advice.

Fourth thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2684139-february-2017-thread-4-are-we-the-chattiest-bunch-or-what

Kiki mine is also the 23rd. I booked a really early appointment though because I can't wait. Now I'm wondering how i get dd out of the house in time and get there during rush hour!

MimiDiddy · 08/08/2016 19:54

2many so sorry, I hope you've got of lots of support in RL Flowers

gumbootsandjandals · 08/08/2016 20:20

Sorry to hear your sad news 2many Flowers

I'm probably going to start my mat leave super early, like 29 weeks. This is because we are looking to move (house is going on the market on Sat!) and I will be 29 weeks mid-Nov, which may hopefully coincide with a completion date...hahahahaha. My husband will be starting a new job and will have a long commute until we move. I don't fancy doing solo bedtimes and dinners 5x a week AND working, albeit part time.

Has anyone started feeling movement yet? I had flutters at 17 weeks in my previous pregnancies (my second I had an anterior placenta) but I'm sure I've been feeling wee somersaults since yesterday. I'm 14+5 and do get a bit windy, but these are delicate little bubbles.

sleepyMe12 · 08/08/2016 20:35

I'm so sorry 2many Flowers

Readyfortwo · 08/08/2016 20:42

I've def got a bit of movement gumboots not consistent but occasional somersaults and the odd twitchy kick type feeling. Smile

SpinALittleFaster · 08/08/2016 21:33

I'm so sorry 2many Flowers

topmammy · 08/08/2016 21:41

Hi ladies, hope it's ok if I join you!? I'm due on 23rd Feb with baby #2 :)

user1467983757 · 08/08/2016 21:43

Hi topmammy that's my due date too. 😁😁😁

LondonGirl83 · 08/08/2016 21:50

Dating scan not booking appointment... baby brain :)

topmammy · 08/08/2016 21:56

Ooh due date buddies Grin Although I won't be surprised if they change my due date a little after my 12 week scan as that happened with my first baby.

user1467983757 · 08/08/2016 22:03

Aw yea they might do. They dated me just slightly earlier than the 12 w thought I was

Ubercorn · 08/08/2016 22:06

Hi and welcome topmammy

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 08/08/2016 23:12

My scan is at 3.30. Hubby has booked the day off so we're going to take the youngest to softplay (eldest is at preschool that day) then dropping youngest at my mums at 2.30 and she will pick eldest up from preschool. X

Dreamingoutloud7 · 09/08/2016 07:11

Got my scan at 11:25, slept ok, is it wierd that I'm more anxious over getting there on time than I am for the scan? I have to pick dh up from work on the way and it's making me nervous that he won't be ready!!
Maybe it's my brain making em focus on something else so I don't completely have a breakdown?!!

ScottishSnowflake · 09/08/2016 07:44

Hi dreaming. I was the same, more worried about getting there, so much so we were 30mins early and the department hadn't opened! I'm the same though when it comes to getting a flight - I have to be at check in as soon as it opens otherwise I start to panic. DH just goes along with it now - the promise of lunch/ drink for being there early works wonders WinkGrin

Ubercorn · 09/08/2016 08:09

Same here dreaming and Scottish! Kids have been up, dressed and fed since 7.30, I don't need to drop them at my mam's until 9.30!

jpclarke · 09/08/2016 08:16

Scan today too at 11.30, I can't remember being this nervous on my other two dc as I am about this scan. My symptoms feel different this time which I am finding strange because I had two different pregnancies for my girl and boy but this is different again where I would of expected it to be the same as one of the last times.

PianoOnlyTheWhiteKeys · 09/08/2016 08:19

Wow. Lots of chat since I last signed in on friday.

So sorry 2many I can't imagine how that felt, you must be in shock but I hope you're taking care of yourself and giving yourself some time. Flowers

I bit the bullet yesterday and told my work colleagues who were all lovely. We haven't had a baby in the team for at least 4 years, so they are excited too which was so nice. I couldn't work out how to tell them but went for the "eating for two" option as I munched on a Krispy Kreme for someone's birthday and that got word out pretty quickly!

Quite hard to make an announcement without making a big fuss I find but didn't think email was appropriate.

What are you guys doing on that front?

Evergreen17 · 09/08/2016 08:37

Hello all
Still catching up with messages.

So very sorry about 2many. Too many lovely people we have lost here on the past weeks Sad

My 20 week scan is on the 30th of September. They asked me to go to reception and agree a date which i think it is so much better than getting one in the post.
My 16w appointment with midwife for doppler and others is beginning of september

I am waiting for my 12 w bloods but I am pretty sure I will get low risk because they told me of it was high they would call me Friday or yesterday.

All good

Is anyone else still not convinced that they are pregnant???? I think until baby starts kicking I might.

We told SIL and MIL and MIL and DH cried. So cute.
Telling my mum this weekend and work this week before I go on holidays. Smile

I have been thinking about starting maternity leave early, maybe at 35 weeks. My holidays go from 31st of January and I don't know how I will take them before maternity leave as they want because it will be impossible unless I go on maternity end of Feb and use the hols from 1st of Feb
Madness as my job involves walking 10k a day very active

Evergreen17 · 09/08/2016 08:39

Also thank you everyone for wedding wishes SmileSmileSmile
We have a nice little family here

Ubercorn · 09/08/2016 08:44

Timehop has reminded me that my 12w scan with DC3 was three years ago today Grin

I'm going to officially start my maternity leave the week before my section so end of Jan/beginning of Feb depending on when it gets booked for. Unofficially I'll start it at Christmas. I take Christmas off anyway so I'll end my contracts for then and once the Christmas break is over I'm going to spend the time between then and my section date winding my business down, putting stuff into storage that I won't need (work buggy and all that), making sure my paperwork is stored away/disposed of as needed and so on. So I'll be working but unpaid.

For my announcement I'm just going to put this photo on FB and let people work it out for themselves. It's a photo DH sent me from work a few weeks ago, he says it's our family portrait.

Due in February 2017....thread 5!
SBSparkles · 09/08/2016 08:51

Good luck for scans today! Love the announcement pic ubercorn is that from Pinterest? I used a little poem to announce mine which I got off Pinterest! Xx

Ubercorn · 09/08/2016 08:59

That's from his desk, he sent me a paperclip one too. I wonder if he got the idea off Pinterest, he does Google some odd things

SkyLucy · 09/08/2016 09:03

Love that pin photo! I told my office via email - I bought a load of cakes, then sent round a note saying it was to celebrate two team productions - one complete (a project we had just finished) and one in development - baby SkyLucy! Everyone's been lovely - there was a card signed by everyone on my desk yesterday. Nice to be out in the open!

Best of luck to all those being scanned today! X
