Crazy that we are onto thread 4 already!

Just starting the 12-week scans, but still feet firmly in the anxiety-ridden first trimester, yikes!

Ah Marjory that's lovely. Good to share the experience even though you're not geographically close

LondonGirl83 · 18/07/2016 11:18

Marjory that's very exciting! It would love it if one of my friends was pregnant at the same time. One of my best friends is starting to try this year and another very close friend who already has a DC has started trying for another. Its nice to know that even if its not exactly the same time, we'll all generally hopefully have kids around the same age :)

Diva if its any comfort, I had brown discharge and a very sore cervix a couple of weeks ago for a few days. I went to the EPU and everything was fine. They tested me for thrush which I didn't have. In the end, its just one of those things that happens in pregnancy sometimes. Brown discharge is fairly common so try not to stress out.

LondonGirl83 · 18/07/2016 11:27

Okay, so I went for my 3rd scan today-- (first private reassurance scan at 7 weeks, followed by EPU scan after brown discharge and now another scan as part of the NIPT blood screening I'm doing privately).

I'm measuring 9+2 which is a day ahead of where I think I am. Everything looked great. Its incredible how much the baby has grown in two weeks! It now has very visible arms and legs and a nose! Instead of just looking like an alien blob, it finally looks like a small person is in there. The heartbeat was very load and fast (around 170 bpm).

I'm really thrilled as having seen a heartbeat at this stage means the miscarriage risk is as low as its going to get really. Statistically, there is no higher risk than if I was already at 12 weeks!

FlipperSkipper · 18/07/2016 12:39

H007, not meaning to sound like a pedantic d**k, but the usual recommended dose of folic acid in pregnancy is 400ug, not 5.

Had some pink discharge in the night so phoned the EPAU today and they're fitting me in for a scan tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's nothing, but I'm so scared.

LondonGirl83 · 18/07/2016 13:12

Flipper try not to panic as it may very well be totally harmless. How far along are you?

SBSparkles · 18/07/2016 13:16

Does anyone know if there are any smaller groups on here? Feel like a lot of my comments get passed over due to sheer volume of people (I hope!) xx

FlipperSkipper · 18/07/2016 13:26

I'm 8+1, we saw a heartbeat at 7+2 but having lost my last 2 pregnancies I'm very anxious. The discharge seems to have petered out, which is a relief.

twocatsandatoddler · 18/07/2016 13:33

Hi all. Had my dating scan this morning. Everything is fine, although the measurements dated me at 11+4, not 12+1 as I thought I was based on LMP (which explains why my BFP took so long to show up when I was sure I was pregnant!). My new EDD is 2nd Feb.

Sonographer got a good nuchal tube measurement so just need to wait for blood results to come back to get the full risk figure. Last time I had my scan at St Thomas' and they gave blood test results the same day so I'm slightly disappointed not to get the full results today but it's no big deal to wait a week.

Everything looks fine, as far as they can tell at this stage. Hope this is encouraging for those with few/no symptoms as I have hardly felt pregnant at all so it shows that you can't rely on symptoms.

FriendlyGhost · 18/07/2016 13:48

Just catching up after a hectic weekend away. Went to latitude on Saturday and I feel like I need to sleep for a week to recover. That was without the usual drinking!
Sorry to hear some of you have had bleeding. Fingers crossed for you all.
Welcome frobskottle
Sparkles it is really hard with a fast moving thread. You're definitely not being ignored! You could join the Fb group which means you'll get more individual replies?

divadee · 18/07/2016 13:51

I have an appointment tomorrow morning at the epu. The dr was very understanding.

The discharge has got less after going to blood then back to brown and now not a lot. But I have bad cramps In my cervix and in my abdomen. And worried as I have had 2 LLETZ treatments.

LondonGirl83 · 18/07/2016 14:04

SBSparkles you can join the facebook group which is smaller and less active.

Divadee, when was your last exam? These things take such a long time to develop that unless you are over due an smear I would imagine you are probably fine.

LondonGirl83 · 18/07/2016 14:08

Flipper having seen a heartbeat is a very good sign. Lots of women on this thread have had spotting or bleeding so try not to think the worse and good luck at the EPU tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hazandduck · 18/07/2016 14:15

Hi guys sad to say I am out. Had a horrendous miscarriage over the weekend, hospital and womb clearing and all sorts. Wishing you all the best for healthy February babies and I will think of you all when that month comes around. Big hugs xx

divadee · 18/07/2016 14:24

Hi LondonGirl My last smear was 2014 so due next year. I had my last LLETZ treatment 3 years ago.

I am probably panicking over nothing but I never had this with my daughter. Had the pains Saturday. Dark brown discharge and then blood this morning and now all sorts of cramps and period pains going on. The discharge/blood has got a lot lighter though. I'm keeping it all crossed for tomorrow morning. I did a pregnancy test this morning when I had the blood and it's still positive.

wm3010 · 18/07/2016 14:31

Haz I'm so sorry that's awful. Take care of yourself xx

wm3010 · 18/07/2016 14:33

Twocats that's great news, congratulations! Got mine tomorrow, feeling really nervous.

Shellbell0403 · 18/07/2016 15:22

Hi, just wondering if I could join you all?

Pleased to say after 2 years of trying and being diagnosed with PCOS, we finally got our bfp in June and Edd is the 16th Feb..
I'm 9+4 and had an early scan last Tuesday and seen the heartbeat 😊 Still petrified though! Hope you don't mind me joining xx

Shellbell0403 · 18/07/2016 15:37

H007 yeah the new guidelines are that if have a bmi of 30 or over they will prescribe you 5mg folic acid. I am taking these at the moment, although my bmi has now dropped as list weight due to sickness and nausea 😣

SpinALittleFaster · 18/07/2016 15:41

Haz I'm really sorry. Take care of yourself Flowers

evergreen I've got a Sonoline B. Probably wouldn't be using it this early on but already had it from DD. It has been great to check in on the remaining twin though with our worries about this big bleed.

Sparkles it is crazy busy in here at the moment. I think people post more early on when there's a lot of panic and everything is new. I found it much easier to keep up with a Facebook group of around 100 with DD and will join this one if I get through my 12 week scan

MarjorySunshineDust · 18/07/2016 15:58

My midwife said to take the extra folic acid until 12 weeks then just switch to a normal pregnancy multi vitamin after that. All seems a bit late in the day as I'm not getting my prescription until tomorrow and am already 11 weeks. My midwife app was quite late I think. Anyway, will take the extra until I have my scan!

haz I'm so sorry to read your awful news, hope you have lots of support.

sparkles

MarjorySunshineDust · 18/07/2016 16:07

Whoops sparkles it is hard to keep up with everything in here! I think I will join the fb group once I've had my scan as well.

twocats great news, must be a big relief.

Welcome shell and congratulations!

Shellbell0403 · 18/07/2016 16:12

Thanks marjory Congrats to you also xx

SkyLucy · 18/07/2016 16:37

Oh haz, I'm so sorry for you. Take great care xxx

CeeCeeEnnEss · 18/07/2016 17:09

I'm so sorry haz, take care of yourself xx

GinandJazzHands · 18/07/2016 17:41

So very sorry haz take care of yourself Flowers
