Oh how lovely Strangetown, enjoy telling your DH the news and have a wonderful time tonight! I had lots of nice ideas of how to tell my DH but jumped on his head at 6am and shoved the test in his face in the end, was just too excited to wait

It's nice to have a fellow first-timer on here I am sure my questions are so daft to those who have done this before!

Lissie - eggy bread! tut tut

StrangeTown · 03/02/2007 16:33

Yes, I'm sure telling him will mainly consist of me waving the test at him and shouting 'what do you think of that then' which is what I did last time...

lissielousknockedupatlast · 03/02/2007 16:48

mrsmcJ, coz the doc told me i was mcing it was such a shock, came running out of loo waving it around. theres even a pic of it on here!

WinniethePooh · 03/02/2007 16:53

I did not actually but ANY materniry clothes last time. Just got tops, that were a size bigger and trousers & skirts with elasticed waits. During the summer I lived in baggy button through dresses.

My MIL bought me a set of maternity clothes (2 tops, skirt & trousers), from M& S, but looking through my wardrobe today, I think I must have given them away.

lissielousknockedupatlast · 03/02/2007 16:59

i already have a pot belly

ejt1764 · 03/02/2007 17:55

Happy Saturday ladies ...

Sneaks - have to say that it makes me really glad to see that there's somebody who doesn't get the knicker checking - thank God for that! My first miscarriage started at 6 weeks and 3 days ... I went to the loo at work, as I felt a bit damp, and there was blood everywhere... now, even if I get the tiniest bit of a 'damp' sensation, I imagine the worst. I just hope that you never have to experience the sheer bloody paranoia of pregnancy after a loss ... it sucks!

Greedy, am very impressed with the lengths you went to ... I'm not sure I can be bothered - with people who will be coming and drinking in our house, they would expected to commiserate over another loss, so they may as well have a happy bit to share with me. My friends and colleagues were so supportive last time, that I don't want to have to lie to them - I'm dreadful at it!! Besides, I drink pints of bitter normally - don't know how I'd pretend to be drinking that!

Lissie, I wore my jeans today - went to a class on dying (fabric and yarn) - and they were really digging in - I think I may have to dig my belly belt out early again! Don't want to get the full maternity kit out of the loft until I'm a bit more sure ... (ie after my scan)

Maternity clothes are good in: H&M, Next (good but pricey), La Redoute, and Vertbaudet. If you're near Newport (South Wales), JoJoMamanBébé have their 'warehouse' there, and have a little shop, where I bought most of my good stuff from when I was pg with ds (thought I would never put myself through the horror of pg and birth again, so sold it as soon as ds was born!)

Quite fancy a \link{http://www.bumpband.co.uk/bumpband} - has anybody got one / knows anybody who's used one? ... They're selling acheaper version on ebay but I don't want to shell out too much just yet - may make the job of hiding the fact that my trousers aren't done up easier ...

anyway, enough of my ramblings!

ejt

Try again with the link: bumpband

Curlygirly · 03/02/2007 18:47

Evening all,
Going across to my neighbour tonight for dinner and drinks. This was arranged before I knew I was pregnant and we thought it was great we could have loads to drink tonight and only have to stagger across the road home.
Guess I'm going to get rumbled again tonight. Mind you, the size of my ever expanding belly kind of gives it away!

lissielousknockedupatlast · 03/02/2007 18:50

pmsl (pretty much literally, bye bye bladder control)

WinniethePooh · 03/02/2007 19:55

I know what you mean lissie. I have to ask the girls on MSN not to make me laugh too much in case this happens.

lissielousknockedupatlast · 03/02/2007 20:19

lol.

right advice needed. got nephews bday party next sat. dress i want to wear makes me look pg (have a bit of a bump already). but dont want to tell anyone yet. what do i do??

WinniethePooh · 03/02/2007 20:35

The bumpband that is mentioned further down the thread looks like it might able to help you out there.

tinytotmummy · 03/02/2007 21:26

Evening all!

Congrats to you strangetown! Really lovely to have first time mums on here.

Lissie, perhaps a (nice) long cardi/wrap that you can discreetly pull round your bump if you notice anyone looking? That's probably not very helpful!

My mum's soo excited - she always wanted three but never got round to it - she's been out looking at baby clothes already. She'll be getting the knitting needles out next!

Sneaks · 03/02/2007 22:07

EJT I have been through and ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage last year (where i didnt even know i was pregnant till it happened) so believe me I am FREAAAAAAAAKING out deep down .. I just cant bear to do the knicker checking thing in case I actually see something I dont like IYKWIM.
In some ways I wish I didnt find out I was pregnant until 12 weeks .. the next few weeks are going to be really nerve wracking.
Dp told his ten year old daughter today, she was upset about something and he more or less changed the subject by telling her that LOL and she's delighted of course. Wonder how my little one will react, she's a bit too young to understand really until I start growing a belly!

Funnily enough I am sitting here at the pc with my button and zip down on me jeans, and theyre my bigger fitting jeans, so em, im a bit bloated!

keep getting little stabby pains on and off (very quick little darts) in my left side where i imagine me inner bits are.
Thats normal is it? Just stretching or something?

My boobs are growing!! Hallelujah brotha!!!
I'm normally only a lickle a cup and last time on my DD I got as far as a D cup - until the milk dried up that is

WinniethePooh · 03/02/2007 22:19

Sneaks, You can have some breast tissue from me if you want.

I am already a 36G, hopefully I won't get any bigger with this pregnancy as it is hat=rd enought oget a bra

tinytotmummy · 03/02/2007 22:43

LOL sneaks, sat here with the same jean problem!!

Winnie, If you're sharing it around, I'd like to go up just one size

Sneaks · 03/02/2007 23:02

what about the little darty pains are they normal ?

J20BABY · 03/02/2007 23:21

hi all, can i join? i'm due on the 9th Oct, darty pains- yes, think they're normal, i keep getting them

Sneaks · 03/02/2007 23:54

Oh thanks J .. and welcome to ya!!!
These are like darty stabby pains that change into a slight burny pain.
I know im just probably worrying too much. Good nights sleep needed eh ?

tinytotmummy · 03/02/2007 23:56

I do occasionally have some pain, bit like a sharp stitch, lower left side. is this similar? I think pregnancy twinges are fairly normal.

Congrats to you j20baby, we have a little list going on further down the page - you can add your name to it! What number baby is this for you?

lissielousknockedupatlast · 04/02/2007 07:47

lol, cant do up my normal jeans and boobs are v impressive, gone from an a to a c. with ds got up to a ee, and my frame is tiny. suffice to say dh is v excited

WinniethePooh · 04/02/2007 08:59

There is plenty to go around. I would love to be able to buy th cheap bra from somewhere like primark or even AVON. But, they just done do my size

Sneaks · 04/02/2007 09:45

Ok ..morning sickness (or rather all day and night sickness) has kicked in. Was coming in waves last night at about 2am, managed to drift off and get some sleep (until my three year old woke up and refused to sleep alone so i had to get up and take her into my bed, i lost the rag with her as well )
Woke up this morning with the headcold back with a vengeance - really chesty cough and too hot all the time.
Sick as a dog.

Oh the joys of it.

whoopswithminiwhoopstinybump · 04/02/2007 09:53

Poor you sneaks I'm just thankful that I feel sick and am not actually sick!
My boobs are huge to start with but don't feel any different occasionally feel tingling in it but that's about it.
Am I the only one that is having to stop herself buying more test to check that I'm still pregnant?! Even though this is number 3 for me it still feels like something new!
