Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMcJnr · 28/02/2007 15:43

Thanks I know what you mean about the food ? particularly chicken and salmon things, they don?t taste half as good as they should, flapjacks on the other hand taste wonderful. I don?t know about the rest of you but I find it so hard to get through the afternoon, by 3pm I am exhausted and cannot concentrate very well which is not great ? especially as I have something complicated that I am meant to be doing.

J20BABY · 28/02/2007 15:45

hi all, yes hairy was right, in Hull if you have a scan after 8 weeks, then they date it and you don't get another dating scan, so i suppose my official date is 3rd Oct, but i think it a few days out.
mrsmcjnr, just wondering, are you still getting sickness and generally feeling crap?
if so, surely this is a good sign?

i'm eating lots and often, no miracle grow but mini eggs seem to curb my queasiness, as long as i eat them constantly

J20BABY · 28/02/2007 15:49

x posted, mrsmcjnr, yeah i'm absolutely shattered by 3pm, then got to go do school run, when all i want to do is sleep. i do a computer course on a mon afternoon after work, and 2 weeks in a row, i've fallen asleep across the keyboard, i'll have to stop that somehow, got an exam in a few weeks, not good if i sleep through it!

MrsMcJnr · 28/02/2007 16:05

I haven?t really had sickness as such at all, just intermittent car sick/sea sick feelings. Yesterday was the worst though since the adventure begun. The headaches have been bad too, particularly last week and I can feel another coming on now. Other symptoms like gas , frequent loos visits, lots of CM, exhaustion, aching legs and boobs and the odd twinge in my lower ab continue. That said, the MW at the EPU told me that the sac creates the hormones not the baby but if that was dying I guess I could expect a reduction in symptoms too. I think my boobs might be less sore, either that or I am getting used to the sudden stabbing pains that happen every now and then! Poor you falling asleep at the computer class!

J20BABY · 28/02/2007 16:18

i think you've got great signs, try not to worry too much, easier said than done, but it cound be contributing to the headaches!

my thoughts are with you and everyone thats having a crap time of it at the moment x x x

honeyapple · 28/02/2007 16:57

Hello, havent posted much on this thread as it moves so fast!

Just wanted to add my twopence worth to the weight/ bf debate!

I put on about 2.5 stone with both PGs- lost 1 stone giving birth, then lost the rest plus more breast feeding. I was the skinniest I have ever been at the end of BFing DS and DD-at about 8 stone. I was producing milk despite being pretty skinny. I dont think that your weight corrulates to whether you produce milk or not. What about women in other parts of the world who definitely do not eat creme eggs etc... they still BF children until they are 5 yrs old. BF is simple- the more your baby sucks, the more you produce. Like a cow. Just the same!

I am feeling totally crap and sick and dizzy and knackered. DP being quite sympathetic which is nice! I never felt like this before with previous PGs- It's really horrid- I now can understand why women complain about being PG. I hope it doesnt last long.
Anyone got any suggestions? Ginger? Does this work?

J20BABY · 28/02/2007 18:08

hi honeyapple!

when you due?

apparantly orange lucozade helps sickness

i prefer mini eggs, yummy

don't know about ginger.

my friend said gaviscon works, not tried it yet though

honeyapple · 28/02/2007 20:04

Hi J20baby,

Orange lucozade makes me think of being sick! My mum used to buy it when we were ill! It's got horrible artificial colours in it as well... surely?

I'm furtively posting whilst DP and DS are playing battleships... So might be off MN very soon...

I want a bath and to go to bed, but Desperate housewives is on later....

honeyapple · 28/02/2007 20:05

Oh- I'm not due till end of October- 26th?
Possibly end up November baby.

PolarMummy · 28/02/2007 22:25

Hi Folks, I have been lurking for a while and thought I really should post. Just found out last week that I am pregnant with my first. EDD is 4th October.

Been to the GP and they have a scan machine so I had an bonus scan at 8 weeks and everything seems OK.

lfm · 28/02/2007 22:43

Hi, I'm another lurker. I'm pregnant with my 4th and by my dates should be 9 weeks. Had an early scan today and was told baby is only the size of 7 weeks. I am assuming that I must have ovulated late and the egg been fertilised late to explain this as they said everything else looked fine. If they are right I must have only been 3 weeks when I did my first pregnancy test and it was very very pale despite being one that you could use before you were due. I was surprised given that I thought I was 5 weeks at the time but that would explain it. I've to go back in a fortnight to see how things are then but in the meantime I'm just assuming everything is OK. I'm wondering Mrs McJnr when you tested and if it might help explain your dates?

whoopsee · 01/03/2007 07:03

Congratulations - Polarmummy & lfm

Is anyone else fed up of the 2-3am waking for the loo? It then takes me hours to get back to sleep no wonder I'm so knackered!

I've decided I'm going to have words with the MD at work if I get anymore hassles from our receptionist - I don't need extra stress from her at the moment!

Hope you're all well!

(Zephyrcat - My sister would like to know where you got the Guiness Marmite from I keep missing you on MSN!!)

MrsMcJnr · 01/03/2007 09:32

Congratulations PolarMummy there are a few on here expecting their first (hoping I am still one of them ? everything crossed). So glad all is going well for you.

IFM, hello and congratulations . I always wanted 4 but think I might have left it a bit late. Your post is really interesting because the one thing that keeps jarring in my mind when I try to be positive about my situation is the fact that I got my BFP on 26/1 which was cd29 and what I thouht was 12dpo. I know that I OV late in my cycle and think it was cd17 that month. I also got a slight bleed on cd20 which at the time I remember thinking was weird as the only logical explanation at that stage could be the egg bursting from the follicle and therefore maybe I did OV later and the egg was fertilized after that. I thought I was 4+1 when I did the test based on LMP but it was a ClearBlue digital I used and got the postive on and then I got 2 negatives, one that day and one on 28/1 using Boots own but I put those down to being at the wrong time of day for weak HCG. I have had 4 positives since then though . The last one was on 18/2. I?m glad everything looked good for you though and hope that things continue that way. Just hoping for me that somehow everthing wil work out.

Had a very bad evening last night, I was shattered and my brain was fudge but I had to work out what to wear at a work function tonight and then at a weekend away with work. Neither of which I am looking forward too because I am shattered and it is tiring trying to disguise the fact you are not drinking (don?t know how I?m going to manage tonight, it?s a champagne tasting!) Anyway, all my trousers are now too tight round the waist even though I?m being careful what I eat (but have now put on about 2 pounds) and my jackets can?t do up around my bust either. I don?t want to buy any maternity clothes given my predicament nor do I want to buy bigger normal clothes either. Made me feel very fat and frumpy!

KezzaG · 01/03/2007 09:53

Monring all, I havent had a lot to contribute to this thread lately so have just caught up.

congratulations Ifm and PolarMummy, I hope you have easy and uneventful pregnancies.

Who was it who said their advice would be to lose the weight after the first baby? you are so right, ds is 2.5 and I had a stone to go which is pretty significant as I am only 5'4, but I never did and now I am pregnant again it has taken very little for me to look like a fat oompah loompah

whoopsie I am with you on the 2am wee issue. My only bathroom is downstairs at the back of the house (one of those old Victorian ones with ground floor bathrooms) and its such a pain going downstairs.

Hairybabysmum, I am blaming you for my creme egg addiction! I hadnt even considered one until I read your posts and now I have one (or is that 2 every day. they truly are food of the gods.

MrsMcJnr, I really feel for you, the waiting is just horrible. I really do think your symptoms sound positive though. Its hard to say the right thing, I know when I was in your position someone would say something negative and I would be the depths of depair, but then someone would tell me a positive story and I would be all happy again. As you say, every day you are closer to knowing. I am thinking of you.

sorry to anyone Ive missed, I am will reread the latest posts again, its so hard to keep up!

gemmamc · 01/03/2007 10:11

Hi MrsMcJr - it must be hard to wait so long for the next scan, but perhaps things might be looking reasonably good for you?

I have a pretty strong feeling I must have got pregnant also at a point when I had a very small, strange bleed around ovulation time. I didn't actually know about this egg bursting out of follicle business, this is the first time I hear about it, but it makes a lot of sense - if you are right it may be that you did ovulate late! Crossing fingers for you...

As for me, I have an appointment for an early scan next week (Tuesday) at the EPAU, so wish me luck. I know I'll be very nervous, but fortunately DH managed to free up some time from work to come with me. I am trying not to think about it too much, but it's hard given I will be 8 weeks and last time I had a m/c at 9 weeks. But with hindsight, I felt rather different then and had a strange feeling something was wrong and symptoms had changed...so I am hoping all will be well this time.

Welcome to all the newbies!

buffythenappyslayer · 01/03/2007 10:36

hi evryone!!!how are you all?
not been around for a couple of days as had dd1 home off school, family outing to the dentist and generally been stressed out!!!
well,mw rang me back the otehr day,and said that she had spoken to gp.as i am generally well, they feel there is no need for an early scan.she understand that i need reassurance, but she said that i will be scanned anyway in a few weeks (am now 8 wks-so got 4 to wait) she said if i have any bleeding then they will scan, but at the moment as im fine she and the gp feel there is no need.
so i guess im just going to have to carry on worrying myself stupid until then!
just had a quick look through the posts since i was on last, congrats to the newbies!!!
still keeping fingers crossed for you mrsmcjr.xx
on the bf and weight thing,i stopped bf dd3 at teh beginning of january (shes 2 and half and wouldnt give up) and fell pg staright away.i lost 3 stone when i was pg with her,but put it all back on whilst bf her (plus have got a yo-yo of a thyroid so my thyroxine was always being put up or reduced!)
this time, because im not eing sick,im worried that im going to be the size of a bus!and the thought of being massive in summer is terrifying me!!!i hate the heat as it is!!
i stil feel nauseous all the time, but im constantly eating and that seems to stop me feeling sick.im eating about every hour or so!only picking on snacky things, but it seems alot that im eating throughout the day.and i cant face full meals!i eat a little then actually feel full, until about half an hour later!!!
had a really bad craving yesterday and when dh rang from work i was nearly in tears as i needed a jacket potatoe with coronation chicken!!!i sulked when he said he couldnt leave work and get me one!!(i know its childish but i really neeeded it!!) anyway, ten minutes after i came off the phone with him he rang to say one of his workmates would be at our house shortly with a jacket potatoe and a tub of coronation chicken!!!the chef in his canteen had done it for me!!
will have to try it with "but i really need a diamond necklace darling"!!!!

MrsMcJnr · 01/03/2007 11:02

Kezza ? please don?t worry about saying the right thing, the fact that you are saying anything means a lot to me. I hope I am not making people feel uncomfortable for still posting on here but over the last few days, it has made me feel more hopeful and more able to get through the days until 7/3.

gemmamc ? I didn?t know about it either, it was someone on here who told me that can happen at OV and that it is a really good fertility sign. I didn?t know anything about it when it happened but I do remember getting really excited and starting to cry because I really thought it was a good sign. I guess when you have been trying a while, little things mean so much. Wishing you lots and lots of luck for next week. That?s great that DH will be with you, share the joy!

Buffy ? thanks for the wishes. at your lovely DH getting your potato delivered. Sweet!

KezzaG · 01/03/2007 11:04

buffy LOL at the coronation chicken craving. How lovely of your dh to arrange it as well!

No man could ever understand what it is like when you absolutely 100% NEED that certain food, so fair play to him for caring, it has made me smile.

KezzaG · 01/03/2007 11:06

Mrs you are deifnately not making me uncomfortable, you are pregnant and its quite right you should be here

there but for the grace of God and all that......

beanie2bump · 01/03/2007 11:52

xxxxxxxxxxxxx

honeyapple · 01/03/2007 12:46

Hi everyone,

Just lost my post in cyberspace .

Mrsmcjnr- Its lovely to have you here, you are wonderful at giving such lovely advice and help to us! You are a very strong lady, staying positive in the face of great heartache. Your PG symptoms sound good, and also the lack of bleeding must also be very positive.

I am feeling less disgusting today! Just have this underlying queasiness. Keep having to eat. Marmite on toast is my creme egg- (IMO creme eggs are REVOLTING!!!!- what is that gunge inside them???)

I had to get up to pee last night for the first time... was paranoid i was going to wake DC!
Kezza- why dont you pee in a bucket or something! I couldnt be bothered to go all the way downstairs in the night.

KezzaG · 01/03/2007 13:15

LMAO at peeing in a bucket. You are so right I should. I did consider a commode towards the end of last pg, but tbh I had so little dignity left - SPD, piles, ankles the size of an elephants, afro for a ladygarden, veiny boobs, nosebleeds and a hefty double chin to name but a few, I just felt having to empty my own urine in to the toilet in the morning would be saying goodbye to any last shred of pride I had

And someone remind me why I am doing this again.......

WinnieThePooh · 01/03/2007 13:18

HI everyone,

Welcome to the Newbies.

I am very tired at the momeent, so much so that after taking DD to school today,I sat down on the sofa for 5 minutes and woke up 2 hours later.

I am not getting up in the night for a pee (yet), but I do have lots of wind. Anyone else finding this.

MrsMc, I hope you are ok today and you get some good news next wednesday.

gemmamc · 01/03/2007 13:39

MrsMcJr of course you don't make us uncomfortable!! It's great to have you here. If anything, I wonder if the fact I talked about my previous m/c may make uncomfortable those who have been TTC for very long. With hindsight, I should have not said so much.

We are in the same boat, and we are here to help each other, so everybody is welcome and appreciated. And I am really now hoping to hear good news from you next week!

WinniethePooh - yes, lots of gas.... But it has definitely improved in the past week after I started eating yogurt every day.....

As for peeing, am I the only one that gets up 3-4 times per night rather than 1? I was getting up at least once even before I got pregnant, so I guess that's just because I drink a lot. I am not too bothered, and I figure it's just practice for when I'll (hopefully) have a screaming baby LOL. Or should I worry??

gemmamc · 01/03/2007 15:05

I drink a lot....of water... obviously - just to be clear!
