Morning....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lwatkins · 26/01/2007 18:39

Thanks ladies! Also spoke to my midwife earlier who said that she will come and get me later and drive me to hospital for a check up if this pain gets any worse - cause im in soooo much pain right now! Have been doubled over with it all day, think i might just go to bed! m/w coming 2moro to check on me, hopefully wont need to go to hossie, but its so sore and she isn't moving about much so im worrying even more! God, what a s**t day eh lol!

Frenchsmallfry · 26/01/2007 18:44

Discrimination definately LW, it's true they would never get away with it in a workplace. WTF, do they have anybrains between them. Take it all the way, but try to keep as calm as you can, it can't be good to be too stressed. You can do this, you'll show them all F**ers.

OP posts:
twelveyeargap · 26/01/2007 18:52

LW - I suspect the pains you are having (in my non-medical opinion of course) are more likely to be stress related than anything. That sounds like a lovely midwife you have. That's great that you have some support.

Rant away on here and get it all out and bounce any ideas about what you'd like to say to the Dean.

Let us know how you get on.

notsolilKel · 26/01/2007 19:15

Pinkjenny - cell blankets I got at Mothercare have held up quite well. For warmer stuff, fleece (from anywhere) has been super useful. Warm but still breathable, very easy to clean, very soft... HTH

FSF congrats on your buggy decision. God it's almost like deciding who to marry... (ok a bit of an exaggeration but not much let's face it )

LW will be thinking of you & hoping for good news tomorrow.

Off for now - drinks w; my mum friends. Whey-hey....

Pinktrappedwindjenny · 26/01/2007 19:41

Does anyone have any feedback on the Bugaboo - apart from the 'having to take the seat off to fold it' point?

twelveyeargap · 26/01/2007 19:50

Have heard Bugaboos are less sturdy than they're sold to be. I mean, in the sense that I was more or less told in the shop that I could take it up a mountain, but have since read that there's no way they'll off road.

If you search the product threads for the brand names, I found it very useful in my decision making process.

SKYTVADDICT · 26/01/2007 20:16

Hi all

Sorry to hear about Parvo Virus april. Hope all turns out ok.

DD only has a normal virus! She is at her dads for the weekend though so at least I don't have to hear her coughing - you really feel for them but can't do anything.

Lwatkins - get plenty of rest and try not to worry (difficult I am sure). Hopefully midwife will sort you out.

Forgot to say Jess Munch is gorgeous.

largeginandtonic · 26/01/2007 20:51

Evening chatty ladies....

Lwatkins just putting on my coat >
Im on my way to sort them all out. How very nasty to speak to you like that, take someone with you when you see the dean. What the hell is going on, in this day and age you just wouldnt believe there is discrimination like this still about Hope the pain goes, rest and go home for a proper rest if necessary. You could come and stay here but i not sure how much rest you would get!

April ditto TYG dont worry too much about the virus, low risk of any damage to you or the baby. Hugs had it last year and was pickled in a rash, i thought it was measles to start with! All fine, he barely noticed.

Sky glad your dd just has an innocent virus, and also glad you are getting a break this weekend.

FSF i am loving the pram, is it a bebeconfort one? It looks so lovely and cosy for a tiny baby in there.

TYG got your email, thanks so much honey xxxx

I nearly loaded the car earlier and set off for Plymouth. The kids were just pushing me over the limit, Hugs broke in to the fridge and poured half abottle of Rose over the floor, DS #3 poured juice all over the table and his dinner in the process and dd was tidying up but making more mess in the process. The twins were being very unhelpful and bashing dd around for being in the way of the TV, one person can only take so much....

You lot chear me up though

Dont know what to have for tea either, am uninspired but feel if i eat cereal or a plate of spinach salad for another night lovely, quiet, well behaved baby in utero will not be happy. I have started to lose my ankles too, just had a bath and looked at them Good news is no way i can see my bikini line, out of site out of mind....lol

scootermum · 26/01/2007 21:26

Evening all,
Just spent approx half an hour writing a post only to lose it in the process of actually posting it, grrr very annoying..
jist was this;outraged on lwakins behalf!lilkel have you tried Nelsons teether at all?-only thing that works for dd-skytv and am sorry to heat you lo's are poorly-largegandt-cake making classes? My mother was at someones house last night having a garden design lesson so might there be a market for baking do you think?-tyg-was in Muswell hill yesterday, have you ever been in the Maid of Muswell?Quite nice...
Had loads of other things as well, but dh is after me for the laptop so must vacate it..
Hope all are well cest soir..

twelveyeargap · 26/01/2007 22:50

Spooooooky! My house is on the opposite side of the road to the Maid... About 200 mtrs up the road! D'oh. We should have arranged to meet. Or were you just around during the day?

Isn't it quite odd that some of us have a very, very slight degree of separation? Wait now, we'll find out that Jess or MKG or Dejags knows someone one of us knows. I do actually find it quite weird - but cool too.

jessinwa · 27/01/2007 01:32

the recent close calls with you all meeting each other makes me want to just ask something: do any of you know mark and lee? lee is from there and mark is american. they know people there who are prego at the moment so i thought i would ask. such a longshot, i know, but i thought it would be fun to ask.
dh is home now. he is being a bit nicer to me now than he had been. don't know how into it i got on here but he was being a real twat there for a while. much better now.
i am off now to sew a new tote bag. i need something new and being on such a tight budget forces me to be creative. any of you fancy a new little bag? the first one of you who wants one can have a free, handmade, bunnybum original! also, lg&t, i bought you some fruit roll ups only to eat them all within a couple of days. oops. we really need to figure out this exchange soon. i still need the medised and i would love to send you some lucky charms (?) and fruit roll ups.
one more thing, lwatkins. my jaw dropped when i read what that idiot said to you. why do people think they can talk to others that way? what an a-hole. good luck with that situation.

Lwatkins · 27/01/2007 06:29

Have just walked into the kitchen to get some juice, opened the fridge and my new, and unopened bottle of ketchup has been opened by somebody and is now half empty! Have completely just broken down into tears - over a bottle of ketchup! It's official, i'm hormonal.
I only bought it 2 days ago, it was on MY shelf in the fridge with the rest of MY things. Oh and the worst bit is whoever's used it didn't even have the decency to wipe it afterwards and the whole bottle is covered in sauce drips which i have just picked up without realising and covered my hands in!!!! I hate living with other people, and i cant say anything about it otherwise im just the pregnant hormonal girl moaning - AGAIN! I don't get it, why use it if it doesn't belong to you? I hadn't even opened it ffs, i was waiting to finish of the other bottle which has been left alone. The bastards have gone and opened my new bottle of ketchup without even emptying the old one first!!! Who raised these people?!
This is the start of what i think is going to be a very bad day

LupinsBigLump · 27/01/2007 09:12

Morning ladies

LW I am gobsmacked at the comment you got - definatly seek some advive that is soooo wrong, hope your paind have settled down, and grrrrrrrrrr at ketchup incident

AM hope your ok with the blood tests

MGK hope you got some decent trousers, I will be sooo glad to have proper fitting ones again

Dp has lost his job - hmmm not good especially when Micralite turns up next day and I was hoping to tuck it away in secret ooops, still hoping something turns up soon, my mum has offered to help us out if we get really stuck, needing to do loads of ebaying

Have a good weekend all xx

Frenchsmallfry · 27/01/2007 09:52

Lupins I'm sorry dh has lost is job, that must be bad news, I'd be beside my self. My dh has been off for 2 weeks with this back op and hardly worked at all since the begining of December. I keep buying prams so am starting to panic about him going back to work. He is owed over £400 from jobs he did in Dec, He hate's chasing money but it really would come in useful now. I hope it all turns out OK for you.

lg&t my new pram is a bebecar sport, hence the go faster reflectable stripes on it, wtf???? I'm still so pleased with it, it's only a pram for god's sake but I can't wait now to have a little bundle in it and it still all seems such a long way off. Glad I'm not a rhino; all though I feel like one sometimes.

LW it really is time you got out of there, you are sounding very stressed. Go home for a few days? People are unreasonable but maybe you are a little hormonal at the moment. I have the same problems with my parents living with us, somedays I cry at everything my pain in the arse, miserable, grumpy Grrrrrrrrrrrrr Father says or does. There's talk of building them a bungalow on the field attatched to the garden and it's sounding like a better idea everytime he annoys me. It is so hard living with others, maybe you could do with a break. How are the pains today?

It is such a small world TYG. Very weird, I bet it is possible to make a link between every single person in the world somehow?

AM hope J is OK today, how did last night go?

Don't know any Mark's or Lee's Jess, Sorry, well not any in the US anyway. Do you know where abouts in the UK Lee is From?

Have a good Saturday all, boring boring weekend! I miss the Uk in the winter at the weekends.

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 10:23

Hi ladies

Firstly - LW i cant begin to tell you how your tutor has made me. How dare they say things like that to you. I know it causes loads of stress but if i were you i would be making a bee line to the dean's office and making an official complaint!

Got a call from my Dr last night whilst on way to London who said that they are referring me to the Consultant Gyne at Frimley Park Hosp as they want to be doubly sure that all is ok. I am booked in for blood tests AGAIN on Monday to check my clotting again as they said that one of the results came up higher than normal and also to check for immunity against Parvo for me. Then in 2 weeks time i will have another scan to make sure that Ella is doing ok and if my bloods come back and there is still any doubt then 4 weeks after that i will have another scan. Basically they are just going to keep a close eye on us both.

J is feeling loads better today thankfully. Was good for dh last night and slept for 12 hours. Cheeks arent nearly so red and his temperature is coming down. He seems to have his appetite back a little which is good.

Last night was lovely. The charity event i went to with my bosses and colleagues was great, we even got a tour round the House of Lords and House of Commons. The Lords is just amazing, such beautiful detail everywhere.

FSF - lovely pram and agree the basket is great, thats the one thing i was really looking for was plently of space for the shooping bags Will catch you later. C is painting Ella's room today! I will be making cakes as it is his birthday on Mon and his mum is coming for lunch tomorrow.

Lupins - sorry to hear about dh's job. Hope he finds another quickly.

Sky - hope your dd's virus clears up quickly.

Frenchsmallfry · 27/01/2007 10:49

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUGS! hope Mummy made you a fab cake. xxx

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 27/01/2007 10:55

Morning all. Lwatkins at the ketchup episode for you, i know it's not really that driving you nuts, it's the final straw....i am totally relating to that at the moment.

Lupins at your dh loss of job. Will he be able to get another one soon, what field does he work in? Also lol at trying to sneak the micralite in, good luck with that one...

AM i hope the blood tests are ok, not nice having your arm stuck again though. Glad J seems to be improving.

I am not having a good morning, im really trying cos it's Hug's birthday. The kids are just reaching new levels of naughtiness. Hugs keeps taking his nappy off, breaking in to the toilet, and the others had him in the kitchen earlier when i was in the shower and spilled juice all over the floor, let Hugo stick his fingers in the cake. DT1 has bashed ds#3 at the breakfast table and DT2 begged to go to the local shop to get Hugs a sweetie as he had save d 10p, i let him go amid wails from the others about "we never get to go it's so unfair" i explained he was getting something for Hugs to placate them. When i came downstairs i discovered he had bought himself a packet of crisps and eaten the lot on the way home

Im shouting so much my bump aches again, im straining my back and am at a loss as to what to do with behaviour like that. Im still tempted to load the car, it's still a 4 hour trip and lots of packing for 5 of them though. Not sure there would be much respite. Rats to it all......

Frenchsmallfry · 27/01/2007 11:18

Oh lg&t I am feeling it for you. don't know what to suggest, maybe a big stick? Maybe a walk down the beach? Will it tire them out or at least let them run off some of their naughtyness. Is hugs ready for coming out of nappes if he keeps taking them off? mind you that would probably just add to your agro. Wish I was there this week, I'd come and help you remain sain. xxxx

Here is Hugo pressie opening this morning

Here

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2007 12:18

This one is his attacked cake.....

Grrrr

SKYTVADDICT · 27/01/2007 12:26

Great piccies LG&T and lovely cake. It must be so difficult with them playing up. I would try and get out if you can.

I have found a homebirth programme to tape at 0530 and 0930 tomorrow! We have to tape them in the bedroom so I don't think the 0530 one will happen without me being hung, drawn and quartered as it is DPs only lie in of the week .

I think he may feel threatened by Mumsnet as he was very serious last night when he asked me if I talked to you lot because I felt I couldn't talk to him! Its just that I am so tired by 9 at night when we get the DDs to bed I that I don't really have much to talk about and just stare at the TV or go to bed myself. He is out all day every day at work and Saturday at work and football so Sunday is the only day we get. I will try harder tomorrow!

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2007 12:34

Bless your dh Sky! Mine will be the same when he is home, he would feel pushed out if im on as much as this and he is around! I will only be allowed when he is at work i bet.

I may take them to Mc 'ds for tea, Hugo just flaked on the couch. They are all whinging for lunch now, oh will it ever end....

Hope im not terrifying the ladies pregnant with #1, it took me 8 years and 5 children plus bump to get this stressed. Im hoping it' temporary, im normally a very happy soul i promise!!!

Lwatkins · 27/01/2007 12:35

Afternoon all ladies and bumps, i hope your all ok!

FFS i'm sorry to hear about your Dh's job, hope it all works out for you both. Nothing worse than having to worry though is there!
AM i hope your blood tests go ok, i'm having some more done today and NOT looking forward to it. Last time i had some done my m/w tried 4 times and still couldn't get anything from me, i was as white as a sheet on the floor by the end of it!
LG&T bring your kids to mine and let them rain havock on all the ba**ds in my flat - that would soon show them and it would tire your kids out. Problem solved! Could you buy a trampoline or something and just let them bounce around on it all day, they'd be very sleepy angels at the end of the day
My midwife's coming round to check on me soon, see if we can find out what this bloody pain is! I'm so worried that she's gonna tell me it's spd or something equally vile But hopefully i can hear baby's h/b again which always makes me smile. Will post later and let you know how it all went.

ShowOfHands · 27/01/2007 13:23

Afternoon all!

Lwatkins, good luck with the midwife, update us all asap. I completely agree with your decision to talk to the Dean. I also think you should get along to your Students' Union and have a chat with the relevant officer there- you should have either an equal ops officer or a womens' officer. Each university union is structured differently but there will be a full time officer and a team of staff to fully represent your interests. I cannot recommend them enough- you and your baby are the most important people in all of this and you are experiencing discrimination- do they stand up and make announcements about other students like that? I shouldn't think so. And the termination comment is despicable. Probably good that you are moving, just make sure you make your point and make it loudly before you leave. And as for your flatmates, I can fully sympathise. I lived with 10 other students as a first year undergrad and they ate my food, broke my things, used my pans, kept me awake etc. Frequently used my margarine, leaving it out, lid off, dirty knife stuck in it, toasting my last pieces of bread etc. I despised the lack of respect they had for my property. Fortunately I was at the same university as my then DP, now DH and we got a house together as soon as we could. Look after yourself.

Pinkjenny- don't take offence at my anti-pink sentiment. I'm not opposed to other people liking it, just don't personally like it as a colour and have a sneaking suspicion that this little girl I am growing will be 97% gingerbread, 3% pink! Sorry to hear about the trapped wind, still not suffering myself, but there's time...

Lupins, bad news about DH's job. What line is he in?

AM- crikey! It's good to hear they're keeping an eye on you as a precautionary measure. I think my brother had parvo when my Mum was pg with me and I am relatively okay, all pirate porn aside.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LITTLE HUGS! He's such a lovely looking little boy. Do you think there's another reason why your brood are on Operation Drive Mummy Up The Wall? Is it the anti-climax of Christmas? The lack of sunshine? How are they about your pregnancy? Could you not get Phin at least on side with a 'you're the other lady of the house, I need your help to make sure that everybody is being very good?'. Is it possible to bribe her? I really feel for you. Send a couple of them up my way!

SkyTV- your DH sounds very sweet. My DH quite likes MN and is always asking questions about you all. He remembers all sorts about you all and asks after everybody whenever I'm online. He's actually thinking about joining MN himself. God, I hope he never reads these threads.

Good news of the day is that the estate agents think that we're going to get the vendor to drop to where we want price-wise and anticipates that we could exchange contracts in the next couple of weeks. Woo hoo. Let's hope that he's not making it up.

Still got a very bad back. We've started sleeping on the front room floor because the mattress is too soft on our bed. I've got a referral to an obstetric physio to try and sort it out.

Jessinwa- Munch is so lovely and you are clearly a photographer. Been a bit worried about you- your posts are quite despondent of late. I know you've had a lot to deal with. Wish I could help.

LG&T, no post! Not surprising really as nothing ever turns up- apart from bills. We keep complaining because cheques/gifts/parcels etc all go missing. At least one thing a week. No change though. Got a note through the door yesterday saying 'your postal delivery time has moved to 1pm'. Great, not likely that anybody's in then so if you can't fit it in the letterbox I presume you'll just nick it. Or the fairies'll take it.

Off to make toasted ham, cheese and pepper wraps. Anybody want?

aprilmeadow · 27/01/2007 13:36

Happy Birthday to Hugs. Hope the your brood let you have a peaceful afternoon LG&T.

SOH - Maybe thats where you get the love of pirate porn from??

J looks like a totally different child compared to 24hrs ago! I felt so useless yesterday as i dodnt know what to do for him.
