Good luck with scans today all. Chinese predictor says boy for me!

Slumberparty · 16/05/2016 09:15

Chinese predictor says boy for me. Also said the same for my pregnant friend but she's just found out she's having a girl Grin

smellsofelderberries · 16/05/2016 09:21

Thanks all, there was nothing overnight so will call this morning but keep an eye on it otherwise.

Good luck copper!

AlbusPercival · 16/05/2016 09:27

Says girl for me.

But when I put in my Mums DOB and my due date it got boy, so...

tiredmumrighthere · 16/05/2016 09:58

Good luck to those with scans today Smile
Anyone ever had an early gender scan before? I'm 16 weeks in 2 weeks time and was going to book one, but not sure how accurate they are? X

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 10:04

tiredmum I had one last pregnancy and am booked for one this weekend. Last time I was told that if they cannot tell you with 100% certainty that they will have you in and rescan you. The whole purpose of the scan is to look for the sex, so that is exactly what they do and aren't restrained by having a short appointment to do lots of measurements and if there is time and the baby is in the right position, have a quick peek.

tired I had one last time and have got one booked for a week today. Like fuzzy says, it isn't 100% accurate, but I think they are pretty experienced. It is obviously easier to tell if it is a boy! With my gender can last time even I could see it was a boy.

I won't be telling anybody the gender after my scan next week. I'm going to wait and see if they can confirm it at the anomaly scan and if it's the same then I will start to tell people then.

tiredmumrighthere · 16/05/2016 10:45

Thanks ladies, I've just booked it! 1st June Smile
Just got the results back from my screening test-1 in 1818 for downs

1 in 100,000 for Edwards & Patau's
So low risk Grin

coppergrey · 16/05/2016 10:47

Scan went really well! Baby was wriggling about and body popping all over the place. Even gave us a little wave! So lovely.

The sonographer didn't mention anything about the NT measurement... it's 1.8mm, well within the normal range so I guess we just wait for the blood test results now. I presume everything must've looked good to her!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 10:47

Great screening results tired and only a fortnight until your scan!

coppergrey · 16/05/2016 10:47

Great news, tired! How long did it take to get your results back? Really pleased for you.

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 10:48

Crossed posts Copper but really pleased your scan went well and that is a lovely, low nuchal measurement.

tiredmumrighthere · 16/05/2016 11:01

Fab news copper! I was 6 days further along too when I had my dating scan Smile andhad them done on the 6th and results come this morning, I was told they'd take 2-3 weeks so was shocked to see them this morning!

Thanks fuzzy i can't bloody wait Grin

Spottyladybird · 16/05/2016 11:06

I've got a consultant appointment this afternoon. Has anyone had one? Last time I was under midwife led care but due to a postpartum haemorrhage I have to see the consultant. Any ideas what to expect? Letter says I could be there three hours!!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 11:19

No Spotty but please report back and let me know as I will have to have a consultant appointment although I don't know when it will be yet. Hope it all goes well for you.

OP posts:
coppergrey · 16/05/2016 11:28

No advice to offer Spotty but hope it goes well, wishing you luck.

Thanks Albus and tired! 2-3 weeks seems sooooo long but I guess if there's a problem they'll call you. Hoping I get a similar quick turnaround!

Feels impossible to go back to work now. I've got baby on the brain, cannot concentrate! Plus it's lovely and sunny outside! Grin

tiredmumrighthere · 16/05/2016 11:32

Yes copper but I was told that if anything was up they'd phone me, so basically no news is good news Smile

BeedlesPineNeedles · 16/05/2016 11:33

fab news copper

needanewjob · 16/05/2016 12:18

Woohoo my energy is back! Walked little man to school this morning and have run around doing shores since and I am still feeling ok. After four months of complete exhaustion it feels so nice to properly up and about again

smellsofelderberries · 16/05/2016 12:21

That's great news Copper!!

I have been waiting for the letter but I just looked at my 12 week scan report and the bloods were on the bottom of that! So they must have rushed them and they had the results by the end of my scan appointment.
1:3855 for downs
1:32397 for T18
1:8405 for T13
I just spoke to the midwife and she suggested I come up for another scan, but I'm not sure. I don't feel like I need one and the spotting was just the smallest amount of pink discharge. What would you all do?

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 12:37

I can't believe they didn't tell you that your results were there smells! Still, great news that you are low risk. I would go for the scan but can understand your reservations and if you decide not to, I am sure you will be able to go straight up if you have any more discharge.

Glad to hear it need.
