Morning all, hope everyone having a good morning so far. I'm feeling less queasy today- which is great as we are going to York races. It's my Hubbys 20th anniversary work doo, Free bar all day and of course I'm driving! How do I explain me driving especially since the boss pays for taxis Confused

becciandbump · 21/05/2016 11:06

Looking at my belly this am totally realising none of it is baby but all the rubbish I am eating and guess what we are going to the coast so it will be fish and chips again today. My ideas of being in good shape are disappearing fast!! Sorry for the rant just feel flabby!

ermmm · 21/05/2016 12:06

Just getting ready to get out of bed😳. A really bad night of being sick and bringing last nights meal up that's now left me with a ripped throat and pain across my tum😩.
DS and DD have been fending for them selves so I could lie in. DS just come in and touched my arm and head and declared 'don't need the heating on just take mum around the room to heat it up'.

Mum had called to invite us over for evening meal but don't think I can stomach anything now.

Bigfam · 21/05/2016 12:10

Hi loosey!

Don't worry about it becci, you're carrying precious cargo! Wink

Ermmm, sounds horrible you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.

Hannahcarp27 · 21/05/2016 13:20

Had my early scan this morning and we have a little blob with a heart beat. Thought my bladder was going to explode it was so full thank god she let me realise a little. So I thought I was 10 wk 1 which could be be a little out more like 9 wk 6 if from my last period. But said I measured at 9 wk 2. So my EDD is now 22nd Dec. I imagine this may move again a little when we have dating scan. But overall happy heart beat is strong and all ok

SouthDownsSunshine · 21/05/2016 13:47

Great news Hannah

We're the house of poorly. DD has had a tummy bug since Thursday pm. Poor love is so unwell. I've bleached everything and the washing machine has been on constantly. Annoyingly the rain started as soon as I hung the sheets out to dry. I think we'll be investing in a tumble dryer before December! I'm really hoping the rest of us don't get ill.

leotwist · 21/05/2016 17:40

Sad news, I’m afraid. We had our 9-week ultrasound yesterday and no heart beat could be found. It should have been totally clear, as we’d already seen it two weeks ago and the fetus had continued to grow exactly as it should have. However, they searched from every possible angle and got in the most senior sonographer for a second opinion and, sadly, the conclusion was the same. The pregnancy has simply stopped. They think it must have happened in the last couple of days.

Naturally we’re devastated, partly as we’d felt so optimistic. Our embryos were rigorously screened, as was our 27-year old egg donor. My womb and blood tests have been perfect throughout, and I still have no bleeding or cramps. But then we knew that, as with any pregnancy, it’d probably take more than one go and sometimes there just isn’t an explanation: what happens will happen anyway.

I’m scheduled to have a surgical evacuation under general anaesthesia first thing on Monday. Fortunately, that’ll also help my body reset quickly. At my age, time is of the essence. The one thing that makes our loss now even bearable is knowing we’ve got further embryos to transfer and can try again in a couple of months. So, hopefully, I’ll be back again soon.

In the meantime, I wish you the very best of luck with your pregnancies. I’m massively grateful for everyone’s support, fun and encouragement. As a little old woman with a twinkle in her eye said to me the other day, “every baby’s a miracle.” So try not to worry; in truth, it won’t make any difference anyway. And, even if you don’t always feel great, just feel lucky and enjoy it.

May every one of you and your babies stay healthy, happy and much-loved, all the way. With very best wishes, Leotwist xxx

SouthDownsSunshine · 21/05/2016 17:45

Oh Leo I'm so saddened to hear your news. I hope your operation goes well and you recover quickly. Wishing you all the best - including a bouncing baby - in the near future x

lilydaisyrose · 21/05/2016 17:47

Aw leo, am devastated for you - so sorry. I hope all goes well on Monday. I hope you are back v. soon Xxx

TinySalmon · 21/05/2016 18:00

Oh leotwist this is truly sad to hear. To have come so far only to be told it hasn't worked out is very upsetting.

Thankfully you have some embies on ice waiting to be your baby xx

weechops · 21/05/2016 18:16

Oh leotwist what devastating news. I'm so sorry lovely. Hopefully one of your frozen embryos will be the miracle you're waiting to receive in the near future. Take care x

becciandbump · 21/05/2016 18:26

leotwist im so sorry to hear this its very sad but I think that your attitude is amazing and you should be hopeful that the next embryo will be a success. Wishing you all the best xx

barkingtreefrog · 21/05/2016 19:02

Leo I'm so sorry. It always seems more cruel when you've got as far as seeing the heartbeat then it's taken away. I hope you make a quick physical recovery from the operation and you've got plenty of support around you.
Just remember the hormone crash when you stop the progesterone etc might make you feel hideously emotional even without what you're going through. I coped better after I knew that I was at the worst point and once the drugs were out of my system I would start to have some control.
I can't remember if you've had previous pregnancies or IVF so will already know how the drugs crash will or won't affect you, so please ignore me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs x.
Thinking of you Flowers

KitKat1985 · 21/05/2016 19:58

Oh Leotwist I'm so sorry. You must be devastated. I'm so sorry. I hope the operation goes smoothly on Monday and I'm sending you lots of hugs and support. xx

Azure83 · 21/05/2016 20:09

Leo, I'm very sorry for your loss, especially after things were looking so good. As someone said, you're attitude and strength are amazing and will get you through the next few days.

Hate to add more bad news to today but I also had some bleeding this morning. We were about to leave London for the weekend so drove straight to St Thomas's. The EPU nurse said the examination was normal and it was probably cervial erosion. They weren't doing scans today so I'm booked for Monday. I'm trying not too worry, it is probably ok and if it isn't then I can't do much to stop it. Good to be away visiting SIL as well as she's been through mc's before and is being very supportive.
Fingers crossed for Monday!

tisilisa · 21/05/2016 23:46

Oh leotwist, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the very best of luck in the future 🙏🙏❤️

ChocolateRaisin · 22/05/2016 08:06

So sorry to hear that leotwist, such horrible news. Flowers

Thanks for your support ladies. I feel like all my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared, so am not feeling hopeful at all. If I were 6 weeks pregnant as the scan showed, I would have conceived the day I took the pregnancy test. Am going to see my gp tomorrow and ask for a referral to the epu this week to see what's going on. It's feels like I'm just waiting for the inevitable.

NotAClue82 · 22/05/2016 08:50

What sad news on this thread this morning.
Take care of yourself Leo.
Thinking of you Raisin.

Theaks · 22/05/2016 09:27

Sending lots of love leo

Babydreaming · 22/05/2016 09:41

Really sad to hear all the bad news. Leo I wish you best of luck for a future healthy pregnancy!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and am feeling quite nervous. My symptoms have eased a lot now. I went out for a friends birthday last night and was dancing to the early hours! I'm working nights this week so useful to start trying to reverse the sleep cycle.

Il update you with scan results tomorrow, think it's going to be a nervous waiting day today!
