I'm feeling like I've joined the ranks of unsung heroes by being pregnant and managing to hold down a full time job and keep my life in relative order.
Last night I woke with terrible heart burn and nausea at 1:30am, I stayed up trying to meditate my way through the bleugh feelings.
I then got dressed at half five (having given up on getting back to sleep) ready for an early start at school where I was being observed teaching by 12 different teachers from round the county.
I proceeded to clean the bathroom, sort out my clothes, put a wash on, tidy the mass of mess in our bedroom and straighten my hair. All this was interrupted by multiple, horrid, acidic, vomiting fits into the bowl next to my bed as I was on the floor tidying.
I am astonished that we're all just getting on with thing despite all of the queasiness/ tiredness.

I really have a new found respect for all mothers and a slight new found disrespect for men who really do have it easy

Essybird · 19/05/2016 18:08

That is impressive bumble. I have been hit by a wall of fatigue and have spent most of today asleep... On a positive, I feel much better than I did this morning..

peanutbutter2409 · 19/05/2016 18:24

Hi ladies, I've just had the most amazing news! I've just had the phone call with my harmony test results and have only a 0.01% risk of Downs etc and we're expecting a little boy - I'm over the moon!!!! Smile

Thank you also for everyone's kind words yesterday when I was really flat - these hormones just really knock you for six don't they! I had a chilled down and feel much better today X

SouthDownsSunshine · 19/05/2016 18:28

Don't want becci, it's fine to be rhesus negative. Just an extra injection at 28 weeks and one after birth (which you won't notice!).

If you bash bump or bleed after 12 weeks you need a dose of anti d. But no hassle - I had this and just went to the antenatal clinic for the jab.

I've had terrible stomach cramps the last 24 hours. Not sure if it's a bug (dd has been off her food) or I've eaten something I'm allergic to. It's no fun on top of the normal first trimester sickness!

Bigfam · 19/05/2016 18:33

Wow peanut how exciting, you're officially team blue Grin

Bigfam · 19/05/2016 18:34

becciandbump · 19/05/2016 19:02

underrugsswept · 19/05/2016 19:14

Watermelon2016 · 19/05/2016 19:21

Fantastic news Peanut Wine How exciting for you.

weechops · 19/05/2016 19:22

Brilliant peanut !! Oh so happy for you getting a squishy baby boy. My boys are so cuddly all the time (my girl too but not as much!)

helga a mini doughnut maker! I didn't even know that was a thing. My dh loves doughnuts. That could be a brilliant Christmas present 😀

Helgathehairy · 19/05/2016 19:32

weechops they're baked donuts, rather than fried m.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/3859636.html
That's the one I've got but there are different ones. There are good recipies on Pinteret cause the one that comes with the machine isn't good.

weechops · 19/05/2016 20:00

Ooh that's perfect! Thanks for the link helga

SolomanDaisy · 19/05/2016 20:04

Peanut that's amazing, to find out the gender so soon! Nice to be able to stop referring to the baby as an 'it'!

NotAClue82 · 19/05/2016 20:21

Great news peanut!

kittyscot81 · 19/05/2016 20:34

I am feeling dreadful this week. 10+5 today so thought it would start to get better! I've been off work the past two days because I've been so exhausted and sick. I'm feeling v guilty that I've been off, I'm sure others on here have been struggling in feeling just as bad! On another note has anyone advised their work of mat leave? I have no idea when I should tell them I'll start from, do you have to specify a date and duration?

TipBoov · 19/05/2016 20:41

You need to let work know when you intend to take mat leave in the 15th week before the expected week of childbirth, when you also give the your matb1 form (you get it from your midwife)

They aren't supposed to ask you she you expect to be back either, so don't feel pressured.

duxb · 19/05/2016 20:41

Great news peanut! Another rhesus negative here ! X

TipBoov · 19/05/2016 20:41

That should be "when you" not she you!

TipBoov · 19/05/2016 20:42

I'm rhesus neg too, but didn't need the injection after DS1 was born as his blood type meant I didn't need to. I really should know what his blood type is really, I must check his red book to remind myself Blush

ChocolateRaisin · 19/05/2016 20:43

Great news peanut, congratulations!

I went for my reassurance scan today, it wasn't great news. My dates say that I am 8+2 today but the scan showed a 6 week old baby with a slow heartbeat. I have been told to get another scan in 7 days time to see if there is a 7 week old baby or not. 'Uncertain viability' was the conclusion. Feeling very glum and worried. I have been very poorly recently with suspected Crohn's disease so only had sex once that month, my dates definitely aren't confused.

becciandbump · 19/05/2016 21:04

chocolateraisin sorry that you haven't been reassured by your scan. Try to hold on that the baby still has a heartbeat. Rest lots and eat well for the next week will be thinking of you x

NotAClue82 · 19/05/2016 21:05

Hi Raisin, Sorry to hear you are feeling glum after your scan. 7 days must seem like a long time to wait, too. Even though you know exactly when you had sex, it is possible that you conceived later as you may have ovulated later (&sperm can survive for about 6 days in you I think). So it might not be bad news. Hope you get some sleep tonight x
