My torso is a mess after so many pregnancies; I'm planning on getting a bengkung to wrap myself after birth this time. I found a lady who makes them in Malaysia and it costs about £30 including shipping. I could probably make it myself but...meh. Zero desire.

SolomanDaisy · 18/05/2016 15:39

I think at two weeks post partum it's not even about whether you've lost the weight, it's still about how quickly your uterus is contracting. You could be back to your pre-pregnancy weight but still have a 5 month pregnant bump!

ChocolateRaisin · 18/05/2016 15:54

I think if I will be two weeks post partum I definitely will not be a bridesmaid... I will still go but be very much in the back ground with comfortable clothes on! Thank you for all the input- it has been really helpful.

Notaclue I have a friend who had lovely identical twins, she got her figure back not too long after they were born, so you may be lucky.

I have to say, the weight gain and body changing is going to be the most difficult part of pregnancy for me I think. I was literally horrified when I got on the scales this morning and had put on 3.5lbs in a week. I really don't want to put much more than 2.5st on if I can help it. I do have body image issues but I also had a really bad back injury 5 years ago and I need to be careful not to overload myself. I thought for years that I would never want children because of how it would change my body. I'm glad I have changed my mind but it is difficult to not worry about what may happen!

Bigfam · 18/05/2016 16:01

readingrainbow, me too Sad
I looked 4 months pregnant BEFORE I got pregnant (absolutely no exaggeration there at all!)

firawla · 18/05/2016 17:52

I went to bil and sils wedding at about 2 weeks post partum with ds2 but defo wouldn't have been able to do any kind of bridesmaid type duties, I remember spending most of the day sat feeding him, but if you tend to recover quickly might manage doing a bit more. It's tricky though, I'm sure bride would understand!

Same with me bigfam and readingrainbow - the other day my neighbour was asking when am I due and said I looked big for a couple of months - I think it was just the dress I was wearing!! But I'm sure I'll get those comments a lot, I did show v early with ds3 too! (Neighbour knows bc she is delivery person and brought me some kiddicare stuff so I just told her - I can never keep to myself!!)

& some happy news for me today, one of my best friends sent me her scan pic she is due end of Nov! So nice to be expecting around the same time

I have diastasis recti that I didn't really know how to fix or even what it was until recently. I was starting to do exercises to bring my muscles back together, but TOO LATE NOW. Wink I'll work on it next year.

Evenings are the worst sickness for me now, which is unfortunate because dh is working late every night and I have to do dinner/homework/baths/bed all on my own. Good times.

leotwist · 18/05/2016 18:32

Me too, re big tum. The other night hubby commented that I was "really starting to look pregnant now". Chuffed as I was, I'm only 9 wks & didn't have the heart to tell him it's all still pretty much me. Blush

Rosa89 · 18/05/2016 18:42

Thanks for all the support ladies. Great news, baby is ok and the bleeding was caused by bruising on my uterus. Can't believe all is well after the amount of blood I lost yesterday. I guess in some cases you really can bleed heavily and all be well. Thank you all again for your kind words Smile

TipBoov · 18/05/2016 18:45

Fab news Rosa !

Thank you! Have been on cloud nine today! Got the 12 week scan next week to look forward to now too.

TinySalmon · 18/05/2016 19:24

Yay rosa! Fantastic news x

LittleBear01 · 18/05/2016 19:39

Barking, hoping your Harmony scan went well.

KitKat1985 · 18/05/2016 19:55

bumbleclat · 18/05/2016 20:01

So pleased for you Rosa :)

SolomanDaisy · 18/05/2016 20:17

Fantastic Rosa!

Has anyone else had a feel for where there uterus is yet? Mine is already about an inch and a half above my pelvis!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow (at 11+4). Quite nervous. I heard the heartbeat yesterday, but I am concerned about chromosomal abnormalities, as I am 39.

lilydaisyrose · 18/05/2016 20:54

Solomon I have tried to feel for the top of my uterus but it is tricky as there is lots of blubber! I can feel something hard but only if I dig right in and I can't imagine that's good for the baby! Good luck for your scan tomorrow - looking fwd to pics!

barking - how did today go?

Yay for baby Rosa!!

chocraisin to be honest I think being a bridesmaid at 2-6w postpartum would be very very stressful. I had brilliant problem free home water births with my two and I would have struggled with that. It wouldn't be the going to the wedding bit that would worry me (that'd be fine), it'd be all the getting ready with the bride, organising special things for her, having to be places at specific times - do you really need the stress? And breastfeeding constantly!! And yiu wont know 'til very late on how young your baby will be and how you'll be after birth (bleeding, possible birth/section recovery etc). Does your friend know you are pregnant? Can you have a chat about her expectations/your worries?

lilydaisyrose · 18/05/2016 21:00

PS meant to say welcome to MrsG!

Definitely with everyone in the carb loading - I have rediscovered mini weetabix with choc chips for breakfast, which I haven't eaten since I was last pregnant and have just had 2 x bagels (big pig) with cream cheese and ham for tea!

becciandbump · 18/05/2016 21:06

peanut im also feeling really flat just had to ring one of my best friends and tell her about the pregnancy just because I needed to talk to someone. I definately feel better for ringing her so maybe you could try ringing a close friend for support. Think it's just because I'm so tired it's getting me down ive list interest in doing things because Id rather have a nap or put my feet up im hoping it will pass when the second trimester arrives x

Theaks · 18/05/2016 21:28

That's great news rosa

I had a bit of a emotional day, cried on my line manager in my supervision. Blush just feel so tired and drained! But equally I want to tidy and clean when I get home- which I can't, so I get cross with myself (and DH)

Watermelon2016 · 18/05/2016 21:36

So good to hear Rosa; hope you sleep well tonight ;-)
Does anyone know how late or early a 20 week scan can be? Just juggling holiday dates. First time naivety showing... thank you.
