The scan pics look brilliant!

Great news anew

bigfam my youngest was about 16 months when he got chicken pox and it started with sickness and high temperature.

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 07:18

Amazing scan PIC peanut.
I know it feels like times dragging to us, but if you think about it- from the very first scans some of you ladies have had, up til now, it's a pretty huge difference. In only 5 weeks you can now make out little arms and legs, it's pretty awesome I think!

Hope those awake earlier managed to get back to sleep.

Babydreaming · 15/05/2016 07:47

So I went to try on my wedding dress yesterday and they remeasured me...I've increased by 2 inches at the bust...1 inch at the waist and 1.5 inches around my bum! Oh dear... Luckily I ordered the dress a size up as I was planning to put on weight for my wedding anyway (I ordered a size 6 instead of a size 4). The dress is tiny but still fits, very snug though! I'll be 18 weeks when I get married and I'm currently 10.5. Really scared it won't fit! My seamstress has said she will do all she can but can't make any promises...! Can't believe I've increased in size so much already!

Helgathehairy · 15/05/2016 08:42

firsttimer my scan is tomorrow as well! Mine is at 8.30am so at least I won't have to wait around.

I'm terrified. My last scan was for my missed miscarriage. I just have visions of it happening again. Although this time it's private - last time as the sonographer was telling me there was no heartbeat, I could hear the next cubical being told she had a really active baby.

Bella1985 · 15/05/2016 08:43

babydreaming lucky you ordered one size too big! I'm meant to be a bridesmaid at 25 weeks and my friend wants to buy the dresses now...I have no idea how big I'll be so don't know what to do about the dress!

Majorlyscared1993 · 15/05/2016 08:52

Beautiful scan pics people!

The thirst is real... I've gone through 4 bottles of squash in about 2.5 weeks Blush

And the constant peeing, and the only way to cure the hunger/ sickness is to eat like a mad woman.

I'm really struggling with being so tired, ds sleeps through the night but I still feel like I can't even open my eyes when he wakes me up at 6 am Sad

SouthDownsSunshine · 15/05/2016 12:15

I am not feeling the thirst at all! I'm the opposite, really really struggling to drink and I don't fancy anything other than an elderflower and mint cordial that's too expensive to have too much of. I was the opposite pre-pregnancy. Hoping my thirst will pick back up as the nausea eases.

Helga, I hope the scan goes ok tomorrow. The anxiety pre-scan is terrifying isn't is.

Off for a steak lunch with FIL shortly... I normally like my steaks rare... I am going to do a quick google to remind myself of the risk. I don't see the point of well cooked steak! (Apologies to any vegans/veggies.)

SouthDownsSunshine · 15/05/2016 12:24

Gah, I'm torn. The risk is toxoplasmosis, which I'm sure I'll have immunity against given how I've been gardening for years without gloves... And have continued to do in pregnancy (oops), which is probably more likely to give me toxoplasmosis than a steak. But the consequences of it is severe. I may compromise on medium, which in England is probably the same as over-cooked in France!

SaintExupery · 15/05/2016 14:14

Hello everyone - sticking my head above the parapet and starting to believe this might actually happen for us this time...

I'm Saint, 34, in London. 10+4 today with DC1 after 1 mc and 1 partial molar, then a break TTC for tests (all thankfully fine). Current EDD is 7 Dec.

Saw a heartbeat at 7wks but that feels like forever ago and I still have no 12-week scan date. Am booking in with the midwife Fri (when I'll be 11+2, which is quite late I think?) and she'll apparently arrange it then. Symptoms fairly strong so just hanging in there. Still very nervous but hopeful.

Have been lurking a while and found all your chat so lovely and reassuring so thank you, and it's nice to 'meet' you all properly!

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 14:25

Hi saint, congrats!

Sunshine, I'm in the same boat as you, I'm struggling to drink as well, I was OK with Pepsi Max but I stopped drinking it because of the caffeine, now whatever I drink makes me feel more sick

Majorlyscared1993 · 15/05/2016 15:40

My mouth is almost always like a nuns proverbials, even if I down a couple of pints of water/squash/fizz

billabye · 15/05/2016 15:45

Last week I was struggling to drink due to nausea but this week I'm gasping and drinking loads of squash. I think it's normal.

bumbleclat · 15/05/2016 16:01

Hi saint, welcome :)
I am feeling so very nauseous today Ive been in bed since 2pm- this is miserable :(
DH just gone to get decaf tea and ginger biscuit, I hope it works.

Feel so lacking in energy I haven't planned for school this week (teacher) I can't find and charge my mobile phone, haven't done my washing, cleaned my car or tidied th house not to mention brushed my hair or teeth. I can't take any time off this week because my class have their SATs.

barkingtreefrog · 15/05/2016 16:26

anew I xposted with you! Fabulous news! Grin

Great scan pics as well, they're really starting to look like proper babies!
I've got my next scan on Wednesday, nervous again already even though I had one only last week.

I can join the thirsty crew - I'm even drinking water, which usually I hate and have to force down!

And I have zero advice on the insomnia but would love to hear any... I'm hoping mine is due to the prednisolone, and it will improve when I've stopped it (still about 5 weeks away) and by then fingers crossed all is well I'll be into the 2nd trimester and everything is supposed to ease off symptom wise isn't it? naïve?

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 16:40

I feel like you today bumblecat, I stupidly decided to cook a roast, once that's done I'll have to clean up, bath the kids, get stuff ready for school....
I know from experience my "morning sickness" doesn't ease in the second tri and I'm likely to have it all the way through

NotAClue82 · 15/05/2016 16:41

Congrats on your pregnancy saint! We are due date buddies Grin

swancourt · 15/05/2016 16:59

Hi ladies - great news anew and lovely scan pics from others, too :)

Posted about this on Friday but so quickly on my phone it made no sense - was absolutely terrified at total loss of symptoms on Wednesday, spent the whole way home crying (on the train), felt exactly as I felt when I mc'd in March. Waited it out for the scan I had already booked for Friday evening - and we saw our little blob with a heartbeat straight away - no need even for an internal scan. Phew! Was measuring 6+3 on Friday (I thought I was 6+6) but that would mean I started getting absolutely undeniable symptoms at 4dpo and a positive pregnancy test at 7dpo, which is unlikely (and I am sure I ovulated on a Saturday). So I am going for 6+5 which makes me 7 weeks today. So I'm actually now due in January (I think 1st), so I'm an imposter on the thread! But I'll stick around if that's okay.

And I'm super relieved! Seeing the heartbeat has totally changed things for me. I knew I was pregnant before but I didn't really believe there was a baby in there (last time I was pregnant, had a yolk sac and gestational sac, but no baby really). Now I know there's actually a baby with a beating heart I just feel so chuffed and keep stroking my tummy :)

TinySalmon · 15/05/2016 17:54

Oh dear bumble! You sound like me... I get my morning sickness really bad in the evenings. From about 4pm I'm done and have to lie down in bed doing a mixture of gagging/wretching and crying. I've been asleep by 9pm the last 10 days or so.

In fact, I'm in bed right now. Awful!!!

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 17:58

Ah bless you swan, that's so sweet.

My roast is now lining the toilet (sorry tmi) tinysalmon I wish I could go to bed, I've got so much shit to do bit I don't think I can!

TipBoov · 15/05/2016 18:12

I really fancy a roast dinner but I just can't eat in the evenings. I should have had one for lunch Sad

SouthDownsSunshine · 15/05/2016 18:20

bigfam I'm so impressed you're on your fourth child with sickness like that! And that you cook a roast!

I had a medium cooked steak in the end, it was actually cooked all the way through and yummy. Lots of iron!

Welcome Saint. I hope all goes well for you this time around.

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 18:26

This is our 5th sunshine Grin
Needs must, I couldn't trust do to cook a roast, that would be criminal. He can wash/tidy up though Wink

Jokes a side, I'm really feeling absolutely awful Sad

Bigfam · 15/05/2016 18:27

*dp

SouthDownsSunshine · 15/05/2016 19:00

I'm even more impressed bigfam! There's no way I'm doing this again Grin

Bella1985 · 15/05/2016 19:17

southdownsshine I'm glad you enjoyed your steak and good choice on the medium. I asked my DH about that as he's a parasitologist and you're right, you may have built up immunity to toxoplasmosis with gardening but our babies haven't yet developed that immunity, hence the risks. I'd normally go for a rare steak so I was hoping he'd say the immunity thing would be ok for the baby too but as it's not, I'll go for medium-well until january when I'll be ordering a post birth rare steak and a large glass of wine! Grin
