I know there's already a thread up for early Jan babies but couldn't see one for the rest of Jan (probably as I'm jumping the gun a bit here!).

This is my first proper pregnancy and I'm a planner by nature so I need some kind of place to talk about this so I don't drive my DP mad!

I'm Northern Ireland the doctor refers us for our dating scan and bookig appointment and hen we go to the hospital and the 2 are done on the same day usually 11/12wks along. I much prefer it that way.

Ah that's different from here Belfast. Here in Scotland we have our midwife booking at 8 weeks and then dating scan at 12. It's quite handy both being done at the same time though.

P.s. I think I'll be behind in my dates as I think I'm a late ovulater! Will go with the calculated 5+0 until I know more though.

What does number + number mean for how far along we all are? So I'm 6 weeks pregnant - but only 4 real weeks - as they added on two weeks. So do you say 4+2? Sorry am totally new!

Saffron it's the weeks and number of days. I am 4 weeks and 3 days, so 4+3.

Which way do the hospital do it? I've done it based on the day my period was due, I'm probably doing it wrong!

chick im nearly sure the hospital date it from the first day of ur last period that's how my doctor dated me.

Based on a 28 day cycle? Mines 29 so would be 4+3 based on my way and 4+4 based on a 28 day cycle I guess?

I think they just take the date of your period regardless of cycle so it would be 4+4 (same as me!) but they will totally change it at your 12wk scan so don't worry too much!

Ahh ok. I'm sure they adjusted it last time for cycle length. I'll go with 4+4 then! Will see what they say I am when I get to the midwife on the 25th. I should be 6 weeks by then but they may put me at 6+1 I guess.

All the apps are giving me a different due date and putting me at different weeks anyway! They come when they're ready to don't they. DD arrived at 38+6.

The nhs site is telling me to adjust for longer cycles?

Ah I stand corrected! First response do a calc that tells you weeks and days try that!
