We're handholding for the newly graduated viroids and handing out hooyahs to badly behaved miroids. Between womble pains and boobs with veins, some of us are still managing to shag! It's JS Grads 47!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Mimi I've added your stats but you can also edit it yourself if you like (there are a few other bits of info to add if you want to)

FuzzyOwl · 11/08/2016 13:25

Thanks NameChange.

MimiDiddy · 11/08/2016 15:43

Thanks Name, I've just noticed I got the year wrong Blush, I'll edit my info later

SockQueen · 11/08/2016 20:26

Shit, I'm top of the list?!

NameChange30 · 11/08/2016 21:09

Looks like it Sock! Are you 35+6 today? Not too long now!

Fuzzy Are you having a boy or girl, or are you keeping it a surprise?

SockQueen · 11/08/2016 23:22

Yep, 36 weeks tomorrow! Having the day off work to go to a friend's wedding party (they got married abroad last year).

At my midwife appointment today she had one of the new GP trainees in with her as part of his induction - of course it turns out he is an SHO I knew from his last rotation in hospital, but fortunately nothing too embarrassing was discussed!

FuzzyOwl · 12/08/2016 13:32

I'm having a little girl Name.

I went to a physio session earlier this week and was advised to get a spiky massage ball for my buttock pain. Just sitting with this ball under the sore cheek is lovely and not the pain I thought it would be.

NameChange30 · 12/08/2016 16:47

Sock Have fun at the wedding party!

Fuzzy Yay for a girl! I've noticed that your due date is very close to my birthday - it's fun having a birthday at that time of year because of the fireworks Smile Glad your massage ball is helping your pain.

Have people decided on a name, or a shortlist, yet?

It's far too early for DH and I, as I'm only 11+1, but I think we'll hopefully have a shortlist sorted well in advance of my due date!

FuzzyOwl · 12/08/2016 20:37

Name I think the combination of Halloween and Bonfire Night means it will always be a great party around my baby's due date. I have a shortlist but DH has a non list and seems to be intent on refusing to discuss possibilities with me.

NameChange30 · 13/08/2016 11:43

Fuzzy Sorry your DH is refusing to discuss names, how annoying! Hope he comes around soon.

DH and I have already disagreed about the surname but haven't discussed it in a while... Not looking forward to reviving that discussion Hmm

FuzzyOwl · 14/08/2016 19:12

We've had the same discussion NameChange and I think that is why DH is being so difficult about discussing the first name. 🙄

NameChange30 · 16/08/2016 21:51

How is everyone doing?

I have my 12 week scan on Friday and I'm counting down the days. Haven't had an early scans so this will be my first one.

Fuzzy Interesting that we're having a similar issue. My DH just wants to use his surname (predictably!) and I want to use both. Is it the same for you?

FuzzyOwl · 16/08/2016 22:56

Hope your scan goes well on Friday Name. Yes, we are having the same issue although I said I was just as happy with just my surname as both; DH only wants his surname but I didn't take it when we married, so don't see why our child shouldn't have mine.

FuzzyOwl · 17/08/2016 11:48

MyBlack how did you get on with the consultant?

Hope the scan went well today Chat.

MyBlackCat · 17/08/2016 15:45

fuzzy thanks for asking, no change so continual monitoring and a plan will be put in place for follow up after birth, get another scan in 5 weeks, they gave us a 3/4d picture which was a bit scary - he has DH nose Smile

ChatEnOeuf · 17/08/2016 16:28

Black Grin Glad to hear things are stable.

Scan good, tiny little bean has a tiny little heartbeat - 6+0 which is pretty much where I'd put myself by dates. Next scan is at 9w, all being well.

NameChange30 · 17/08/2016 16:38

Thanks Fuzzy, Gx, trying not to get too anxious.

Chat Yay, fantastic news! Hope everything continues to go well.

FuzzyOwl · 17/08/2016 16:38

It's good you'll be monitored MyBlack and hopefully it is something that can be easily treated. I know people with only one kidney so hopefully in the worst case scenario his left kidney can do double duty.

Great news Chat and I hope time doesn't drag too much in the next three weeks.

SockQueen · 17/08/2016 16:47

Good scan news both MyBlack and Chat, gx things continue to go smoothly for both of you.

I'm in my last week of work now, can't wait to be finished! I need to do some baking/shopping tomorrow night to make some treats for everyone on my last day. We're also doing our NCT classes this week, so far so good, we seem to have a nice group though some of them are a bit more anti-doctor than I obviously am!

Now we just need to get this house faff sorted...

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 11:51

My 12 week scan was great Grin My first thought was OMG there is actually a baby in there!! Shock Very happy and relieved to know that all is well. We are celebrating with lunch out and baby clothes shopping!

I'm a few days further along than I thought, 12+4 and my EDD is now 27th Feb.

The sonographer offered to guess the sex and we said yes please - she thinks it's probably a boy! We shall see.

LondonGirl83 · 19/08/2016 12:07

Congratulations Name

I think the sonographers can tell the sex at 12 weeks. If they can see the liver, kidneys etc, then they should be able to see the ovaries (for girls) which are in place as well by 12 weeks.

We know we are having a girl as we did the Panorama genetic test (similar to Harmony). At the scan we told the sonographer and he said he wasn't allowed to confirm (rather than saying he couldn't tell yet) so I'm pretty sure they know.

LondonGirl83 · 19/08/2016 12:11

Fuzzy and Name I haven't taken my husband's name either. He suggested we use both our names but I'm not sure how that will work in the next generation if you know what I mean. I'm still trying to decide if I'll let my daughter just take his surname and then add my husband's surname to my own (hyphenated) so we all have a shared family name. I think it can be difficult travelling with a baby alone if you don't have matching family names or am I totally wrong about that?

Canters15 · 19/08/2016 13:00

London the name thing can be an issue, it depends on the country. I took my husband's name as I have a hard enough time getting into India (dh home country) when I have gone on my own to visit family. I can only imagine the hassle that trying to leave India with (potentially) Asian looking children with a white mother and different surnames could cause! Plus it's a really pretty name and far nicer then my maiden name Grin

FuzzyOwl · 19/08/2016 13:34

I have heard that about the travelling thing London but don't know anyone who has experienced it. I do think though that having the same surname does not exempt you from kidnapping a child - think of parents who separate and want to take their child away, so surely every child would need to travel with both parents and they would need evidence to prove they are the parents.

NameChange30 · 19/08/2016 15:10

Thank you all for the congrats! Smile

London Interesting that you think the sonographers know at 12 weeks. Why do you think they're not allowed to say - too much room for error maybe?

Regarding surnames... I've had two surnames since birth so I don't have a problem with it. In terms of what the next generation does, I like the Spanish way which is that everyone has two surnames, no one changes their name after marriage, and then children are given one surname from each side. Of course the tradition is to pass on the surnames from the male line, but it doesn't have to be that way.
