We're handholding for the newly graduated viroids and handing out hooyahs to badly behaved miroids. Between womble pains and boobs with veins, some of us are still managing to shag! It's JS Grads 47!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Still here, just reading quietly and bricking it about next week's scan!

Peenut · 11/05/2016 09:58

Hope baby does a last minute swivel Feathered, there's still time. You must feel enormous but I'm sure you look blooming!

I can imagine having to put pen to paper is that old essay writing put it off until tomorrow feeling Yoga! Is it wrong that I was considering writing one to circulate to parents as well at hospital/DH? I have a feeling my DM and the MIL will be ringing DH every five minutes/calling the hospital/showing up at hospital if there is no news for a while. I just want them to know I hope to stay calm/focused (HA!) and that they'll hear news when we have news and that not hearing anything for a few hours won't mean that I have perished in childbirth. (My DM is a mahoosive worrier).

Placenta located! It's not covering the birth canal anymore and got to see a very squished up baby's face –sonographer was very giddy and kept saying 'ooooh, look at that foot! And it's little grumpy face!' I'll be honest, it was amazing to see but those scan pictures can be a bit scary face on! Blank eye sockets staring at you!! Amazingly you can tell from the scan photo that the baby has my DHs eyebrows and eyes!! Mental! Managed to avoid seeing willy or fanjo so it's still a Team Yellow baby!

Try not to panic too much Zyla, fingers crossed all will be well and good and you can relax a bit.

I'll let you know how NCT goes. DH is being all nervous ever since I told him there would be group activities and it's not just somebody talking at you for two hours. I await him saying something nervous and inappropriate when there is an awkward silence! (Sure I will prob say something ridiculous too!)

fruitlovingmonkey · 11/05/2016 10:32

Thanks viroids, I did indeed do a boybee. He is teeny tiny but loving his milk and growing nicely. Apparently scan estimates are not reliable at all Confused.
I will put my full birth story on fb but here are the highlights. Contractions started around 9am while I was at a checkup. Fluid levels had got too low to wait another week so I was booked in for induction the next evening. Contractions became more frequent throughout the day and intense in the evening/ overnight and true to form partybaby was born at 5am. I had done hypnobirthing and it really helped. I stayed very calm throughout and had a drug free birth. Twas very empowering and all that. Two tears but not that bad, no idea if the epi no helped or not but given that I started out struggling with 5cms and ended up getting to 9cms, I guess the damage could have been a lot worse without it. I can safely say that when you are lying legs apart cuddling your baby while a doctor sews up your fanjo, you won't give a single thought to the state of your pubes!
So, who is next? Sorry about the stats Sock, my computer hates google docs so I just copied the link from the previous fred but it doesn't seem to be working.

No more pains so think baby was just trying out my pelvis for size. Though I think it's moved back out again now. Have scan on Friday so I'll be getting my wee dipped then anyway.

I wrote the bulk of my birth plan a couple of weeks ago. Need to make some tweaks since finding bits and pieces out at NCT/daisy but it's basically done.

Have to say in hindsight I don't think I'd have bothered with NCT and would just have done the 2 day daisy parenting. NCT is such a long course and all the splitting up the men and women seems like alot of pressure to make friends. Don't get me wrong, they are all nice ppl and I could probably get on with some of them quite well but it feels forced. I've already had more conversation with the other girl at daisy than any of them at NCT. The bf class last light was too long and drawn out. Got another class tonight then fortunately our last one next week is being tagged onto our Saturday session this weekend so it will be done then!

We can't decide what to do about cars. Will probably worry about it when I'm due to go back to work after Christmas. Jealous of your car shopping though!

SockQueen · 12/05/2016 19:51

We had to do something about the car, as our current one is only a two-seater, so not suitable at all for baby transportation! And I wanted to be able to test drive before I got too massive. We have always bought second-hand cars outright rather than going for HP on newer ones, so at least didn't have to worry about leases etc.

On nights again this week - but after tonight I only have one night shift to go! Grin

lildottie · 12/05/2016 23:13

Dh had a lovely mx5 years ago sock. He px'd it the year after we got married as we were planning to start TTC. Be could've had 3 more summers out of it! #meanwife!

Canters15 · 13/05/2016 06:58

Sock, I cannot wait until the day I no longer have to do night shifts! Will you get to come off the on call rota altogether?

YogaPants · 13/05/2016 09:43

Yay for last stretch of nights Sock!

I think the pregnancy rage hormones have kicked in with me the past few days. I was up from 2-4 am really angey about how are new curtains look (much too beige when I was expecting a few subtle off white) after being near tears with DH about them earlier in the evening. Now my tube line is down so I will be late for work. I should be glad I only have a handful of days left of our commute but instead I am raging that I will have to spend the next few months hanging out with our ugly and expensive curtains!

I felt lukewarm about nct classes too lil. Other attendees said that they found hypnobirthing classes more useful. However, as I don't know many people in my local area, I am hoping we meet up once we are on leave and with babies to keep me getting out of the house. I take a long time getting to know people (e.g. I lurked for maybe three months on JSing before introducing myself) and have never felt that close to people after spending a handful of hours with them in a classroom situation.

KateBeckett · 13/05/2016 10:49

Hi viroids! I fell off the thread Blush

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Had another growth scan this week- babybeckett is still following the 10th centile and I am back in another 2 weeks to keep an eye on him- midwife was lovely this time and took the time to explain why they keep wanting us back so I feel a lot happier about it. She also said if he is still on the 10th line next time they will leave it 4 weeks before seeing me again. That will make me 39 weeks Shock Shock that feels very soon!

It's very quiet in here at the moment isn't it? We need some more bfps coming through!

Canters15 · 13/05/2016 14:57

Had 12 week scan, am in fact 12+6! Not sure if nub theory has any truth or is a load of balls but there's def a sticky up little blob so I'm sticking with a prediction of boybee. Booked a private gender scan in threee weeks to confirm.

The NHS scan today was OK, but was a bit disappointed I didn't get a heart rate and they only gave one picture. Ah well, baby is OK which is the main thing!

FeatheredTail · 13/05/2016 17:09

Fruit huuuuuuuuuge congrats. I'm looking forward to the full birth debrief on FB. Baby fruitman is gorgeous. How're you recovering? All well I hope.

39+6 today.....doesn't feel like this one is going anywhere fast. Had a bit of a melt down last night about the labour - quite a few people who are trying to be supportive by saying how well their yoga breathing helped ( I do preg yoga) and how they did it without the need for drugs. Whilst I'm glad for them ( and you fruit!!!) im also getting showy off vibes (NOT from you Fruit). When did labour become a competition?! It's probably far more me projecting my fears about coping, but it's getting to me. I'm not scared of the pain or endurance side of things at all (I like long distance running/marathoning 😉) but I'm terrified of something going wrong, the need for intervention and mine and my baby's safety and having people tell me to repeat "I trust by baby, I trust my body" isn't helping. That said, maybe I should be doing my yoga breathing just to calm the heck down.

I didn't find. The NCT classes that helpful - I pick most stuff up on here - but it's been worth it for the friends I've made these past few weeks of mat leave and pretty sure the rest of the women from my class feel the same. It's early days, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know them all a bit better and it's nice having local new friends who are going through the same thing. It stopped feeling forced as soon as the classes stopped!

Glad baby Beckett is doing well Kate - enjoy the fact he's a little one....half anxiety is stemming from the fact that this baby is measuring BIG (despite both me and DH being much smaller than average)!!!

MyBlackCat · 13/05/2016 17:12

Great news canters I have my 12 week scan in a couple of weeks. I've got a right podge on now, probably from what I've been eating rather than anything else but as someone with a slim build who has a reputation for being a bit of a fitness freak, it is definitely noticeable, so not sure how long I'm going to be able to keep it quiet for Shock

Got to go abroad for work next week for 6 nights which I'm not looking forward to, it's going to be long days and I'm struggling with tiredness, there is a social side to the trip too which will raise eyebrows that I'm not part of when I sneak off to bed early. But that's exactly what I'm going to do. I will most likely tell one colleague who can hopefully cover for me if needed.

lildottie · 13/05/2016 18:33

Evening all.nice to see some 12 week milestones being reached. Congrats Canter's and hope all goes well for your black

Glad I'm not alone in the NCT classes. We set up a WhatsApp group this week so hopefully it will start to develop.

Scan today was fine. Lilbean is also now on 10th Kate but they are happy as it's been consistently small all the way through that there isn't a problem. Just so you know though Kate I think when babies are small it's a possible reason for induction. It was mentioned today and I met a girl at daisy who is being induced because baby is small.

So my induction is booked for 5th June 12.30. I'll be 38+5.

Also now finishing work after next week! Yay!

fruitlovingmonkey · 13/05/2016 19:04

Feathered I think the trouble is you really have to believe in the positive thinking/ breathing/ hypno stuff for it to work so people go ott preaching about it. A few times I wondered if I had just swallowed the kool aid.
You have to do what is right for you, there are no prizes for having a certain type of birth so do whatever you feel comfortable with. As with anything, there is no point in worrying in advance about what could happen because it might not and then it's just wasted energy.

SockQueen · 13/05/2016 19:12

Yay for good scan news Canters! Must be such a relief. And you're lucky you even got one photo - we had to pay for all of ours (though the nice sonographer gave me a couple of freebies at my 20 week scan because she found out I was NHS staff - I think me saying "Oh yes, that's a lovely four-chamber view" might have been a bit of a giveaway Wink )

I'm stopping nights at the end of May, but will continue doing long days and weekends (though only a couple of those left) on-call for the foreseeable future, and just see how I get on. I'll stop doing on-calls completely at August changeover, by which time I'll be almost 35 weeks, but may end up stopping sooner.

On the NCT front, have any of you heard about/booked for their post-natal course? When I booked my antenatal one, I got an e-mail saying they'd automatically reserved me a place on their "Early Days" course for when Socklet is about 6 weeks old, and "inviting" me to confirm it and cough up more cash. Firstly, I think this is a bloody cheeky marketing strategy, and secondly, I'm not sure if I want to do it, but then I don't want to get to the first few weeks and really want it and then find out it's booked up!

MyBlackCat · 14/05/2016 20:18

canters my scan letter says a picture is £5 Shock

Anyone on here with experience of exercising in 1st trimester? I'm a regular runner at least I was but I'm finding it so difficult at the moment. My 5km parkrun has gone from 24mins to 29mins today, I'm pretty embarrassed about it. I just struggle to breathe, it's like I've got a chest infection or bad asthma. Even walking upstairs is an effort these days.

Now I know that it should be harder but I wasn't expecting it to be this bad. I've done some googling but not found anything about it being as bad as I'm feeling, so getting a bit concerned. Does it get better at any point or will I continue to slow down? Thanks x

SockQueen · 14/05/2016 20:50

You might get a bit better in the 2nd tri, MyBlackCat as your cardiac output/ventilation increases but then expect to get considerably slower in the 3rd!

I wasn't exercising much before getting pregnant, apart from cycling to work, and had to give that up fairly early when the sickness got bad (stopping on the side of a dual carriageway to vom in a bush is not a good look!) so am not really a good subject for comparison!

FuzzyOwl · 14/05/2016 21:00

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Yoga and walking are as strenuous exercise I can manage. I still keep getting odd painful cramps and my buttock still hurts.

I really hope I find the NCT course beneficial although I am doing it purely for friends since I moved at the end of last year and don't have any nearby.

For my last pregnancy, the scan pictures were £5 each. This time, I was given three for free. Smile I am having a private scan a week today to find out whether Owlet is a girl or boy. For loads of unfounded reasons I think boy, but nub theory and the ridiculous amount of spots/cysts make me think girl. Ideally, I would like a girl

lildottie · 14/05/2016 22:11

black you should speak to Thursday last as she was a parkrunner and was runner until quite late. Not sure how often she is on grads but pretty sure I have her on fb if u want me to msg her for u.

fuzzy remind me what nub theory is? Our NCT finished today and everyone has started talking about meeting up before baby come so hopefully we will naturally gel a bit more now. If ur doing it for friends the definitely good for meeting people, but for info I'd only bother with the 2 day daisy parenting class.

FuzzyOwl · 14/05/2016 22:13

Allegedly if the nub is below 30 degrees/horizontal the baby is a girl and above is a boy.

Info wise from the NCT course I am not holding out on gaining much as my DD isn't a year old yet and I haven't had a chance to forget what to do with her! I am planning on an ELCS and FF as well.

Canters15 · 15/05/2016 09:08

My scan picture was supposed to be £5 but I'm a shameful human being and didn't pay. In my defence, no one ever asked me for the money, so I claimed it as an NHS worker freebie. Dh got to go to a Michelin starred restaurant paid for by his work last week, I clearly chose the wrong profession for worker perks!

I have terrible skin too fuzzy, why does that make you think girl? Literally everyone thinks boy for me apart from my mum who is resolute it's a girl, I would love her to be right someone has to inherit my shoe and handbag collection but quite happy about the idea of a son now.

MyBlackCat · 15/05/2016 09:27

Thanks lil - thursday is on a running thread I lurk on so I can send her a pm.

ZylaB · 15/05/2016 16:27

Our NCT group last time bonded over us bitching about how rubbish we thought the teacher was ;)

FuzzyOwl · 15/05/2016 16:42

Canters it is an old wives' tale that girl steal your beauty and you have horrible skin etc whereas you bloom with boys. Can only say that my skin was terrible last pregnancy and I had a girl...

YogaPants · 15/05/2016 18:51

MyBlackCat the first trimester completely wiped me out but I found I regained my energy at around 16 weeks and wanted to exercise again. I've changed what I do though as I struggle to walk half a mile but look forward to my weekly 50 lap swims at 37 weeks.

TriJo and 5hell were exercising right up until their due dates which I've found encouraging!
