Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 47th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 46th grads thread is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 60th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Morning all! Why am I awake at 6am?? Hmm

Been meaning to say huge congrats Fruit! Glad the hypno nothing worked for you! I'm going away for a few days this week so going to take a book/CD with me to test out,

Black, literally from my BFP I became breathless and it really slowed my running down. Everyone at run club knew I was pregnant before I announced it because I started having leisurely races/parkruns. I'd say enjoy running while you still can but don't be worried about times, I just found somebody to chat to at the back and pootled the 5k. Still power walking parkrun at 32 weeks, can do it in about 45 mins if I get a shift on, but I'm unsure whether it's worth it as I am wiped out the rest of the day then. There's always volunteering too!

Had to stop running about 20 weeks due to stabby pain in pelvis and extreme breathlessness!

First NCT last week was cringey but good - to be fair I'm not sure how getting a load of pregnant couples in a room to discuss fanjos and stretching can be anything but awkward to begin with. I did enjoy it though and felt a huge weight was lifted that DH is getting birth info from another source other than me! It would be nice if I end up getting on with the other group members but the main reason for booking was actually because I thought the structure, info delivered over a few weeks was going to help DH, who although MUCH better now, had had a full on MAN CRISIS worrying about becoming a dad. He actually left the first session asking 'do you think we should consider a homebirth?' What? This is the man who has been the voice of doom for months!! (I'd love to be at home but I'm just too worried about being ambulanced in if there is a problem with the baby!)

Had hoped to be in the same group as Kate who lives near me but her class was on Thursday, bummer! How did yours go Kate?

I've gone a bit mental with gender theories Fuzzy. Fairly convinced I am having a boybee but have lost all my leg and arm hair! Have read that can mean girl-bee in the loose science that is old wives takes. Also the HB is around 160 ... Read this can mean girl BUT there is no getting away from the suspected willy sighting I had at week17 scan! I don't want to know until birth but it's fun to speculate.

Those talking about cars, I was forced to get my first ever grown up vehicle ( as in one that wasn't handed down to me) when my old car started blowing exhaust fumes into the car through the heater!

Peenut · 16/05/2016 06:57

Sorry that post was full of phone typos! You know what I mean I'm sure!!

Canters15 · 16/05/2016 07:59

Interesting fuzzy, this pregnancy has definitely stolen any beauty I had, I look haggard!

I need a moan. My sickness went last week and I felt great. Came back over the weekend and I actually vomited twice yesterday, which previously hadn't been much of a problem for me so far. I'm 13+2 now, when will this end?!

I miss exercise. Feeling sorry for my self today!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 09:00

Were they definite boy bits though Pee as my DD had very protruding bits at her scan but apparently they were just swollen and she is definitely a girl. This baby also has a fast heartbeat but I find out at the weekend. Glad your NCT went well. Ours doesn't start for another couple of months.

Surely it will stop soon for you Canters. I find that heartburn is causing nausea and a sore throat/cough from burning in my sleep now. I now have buttock pain preventing me from doing much exercise although swimming would be a good idea but not so practical with DD.

Peenut · 16/05/2016 09:37

I'm not sure Fuzzy, I found out boys and girls look very similar at that stage and to be fair I could have been looking at a foot for all I know! This website is interesting. Who knew we all started off with the beginnings of a willy/men started off with the beginnings of a fanjo depending on which way you look at it?:

www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html

Canters, I looked like death warmed up for about fourteen weeks, just pale and knackered! Don't worry, you'll be on the other side soon I'm sure. Hope puking eases off very soon, vomming is the pits! It must surely be a good sign that you had a reprieve for a few days? I found tiredness made me feel a million times worse.

Who is next to give birth? How are all the due date ladeez feeling today? Smile

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 10:05

Pee I can never tell what I am looking at on a scan, even when pointed out (unless it is as generalised as the head and the body). It is all such a blur and I've even mistaken a leg for the cord before!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 10:07

After all the May due dates and lil, who stands a good chance of giving birth in May as I would have done if I had her due date, there will hardly be any of us left on the thread!

Canters15 · 16/05/2016 10:53

Tiredness definitely makes me worse peenut, I'm on nights next week as well which I'm a bit worried about as was super ill after the last set. Anyhow, you are right, this must pass soon!

I can't wait for nct classes, my DH is appalled at the concept of water birth let alone anything more graphic, I can't wait to see his face mwahahahahahahaha.

Peenut · 16/05/2016 11:59

You're right Fuzzy! The thread numbers are diminishing by the day! That must surely mean some more BFPs coming through soon?! Either that or we'll have to insist that those on the Just mumming fred come back to offer pearls of wisdom.

Canters mwahahahah indeed! I really enjoyed watching DH look slightly freaked out baby baby cone head photos and birthing diagrams!

FuzzyOwl · 16/05/2016 12:38

Peenut I think it means you lot won't be allowed to leave, even if your children are off to school, until the numbers are up!

Peenut · 16/05/2016 15:29

You are right, and by the time peanut goes to school the horror of childbirth will have faded and I'll be able to tell all the newcomers it was all unicorns and rainbows and not to worry Grin

KateBeckett · 16/05/2016 23:08

canters I was convinced I was going to be puking the whole way through, but it did ease off eventually... If u are really suffering get to the GP for some anti-vom tablets. I had cyclizine for ages, it didn't stop the vom completely but definitely helped keep it under control.

pee it was good thanks! I agree a little bit awkward at first but everyone seems nice so far- one of the women in my class goes to Aqua natal! I'm glad dp is taking it in his stride more now Smile hopefully seeing other people at the same stage is helping!

I think I might have had the start of some braxton hicks today- bump went very hard and tight and felt weird on and off for a while. Not quite painful, but not comfy either!! Eek, this is getting a bit real now! Only 7 weeks to go...

lil thanks for the heads up re possible induction for teeny babies. Hopefully I'll manage to avoid as I'd quite like to get in the pool, but I can plan some alternative ideas just in case Smile Star

Gx for some more bfps soon!!

AnotherRubberDuck · 17/05/2016 09:18

I'm here, I'm here! Sort of.
I've had a bit of a break from MN as I'm a bit scared of early MC so don't want to hear anything about it. (Very selfish, I know.)
Currently 8 weeks (ish?) Got booking appointment next week, and scan (which can't come soon enough!) still about a month away!
I have a bad feeling about this pregnancy, don't know why. Not many symptoms yet, just severe tiredness and a bit of nausea and craving all the pickles

I haven't read back, but might try. Hope everything is going well with everyone.

Peenut · 18/05/2016 10:43

Hello RubberDuck! Have you been on here to say you were preggo? I feel like we have spoken before :) Anyway, congrats if not and insane worry and insecurity seems to go with the territory. Your symptoms sound reassuring and very pregnancy-like though so fingers crossed for you everything is OK and you can breathe a sigh of relief soon.

That's funny about fellow aqua natal lady Kate! I'd got quite in to Wednesday night being float around a chat to other pregnant ladies night! Hoping to get back in June! Glad your class went well, more tonight. We are discussing the third stage of labour tonight –lots of lovely placenta chat!

Another Baby Brain incident. Got into work this morning to discover I'd left the door wide open last night and just toddled off home. I think everyone's possessions are still here but bloody hell. I'm an idiot. I have a feeling this will only get worse! Blush (Hopefully not quite as bad as a friend who drove to the supermarket only to realise when she got there she'd left her baby in the car seat in the hall at home.)

ZylaB · 18/05/2016 16:05

I've been quiet because ive been worrying that things weren't going well as I feel ok, if a bit tired! Scan this morning put my dates back 4 days, but they said it's not too accurate yet, so I'm 6+4 now but it might change again at dating scan at 12 weeks :). We saw a heartbeat so I'm all reassured, yay! Diabetes team impressed with me and I don't need to go back for 6 weeks if all continues ok (they usually see people every 2 weeks!)

SockQueen · 18/05/2016 18:03

Heartbeat is good news, Zyla! Gx for you.

It's definitely getting quieter round here, hope that we get some more JS BFPs soon!

Not much to report from me, Socklet is getting noticeably more wriggly and I'm feeling my tummy muscles stretching out especially when I'm walking far/fast. Going to my first pregnancy yoga class tomorrow night.

lildottie · 18/05/2016 23:22

Yay for HB and diabetes team being happy zyla. I bow down to you, gd is killing my enthusiasm for life! Lol

Hi duck and congrats. Feel free to share all the freaking out that goes with the first tri! We've all been there. ;)

Pee at our NCT they told us natural third stage gives increased risk of pph but done loads of research this weekend and can find no significant corroborating evidence of this. Be interested to know what they say at yours.

NFMB: first attempt at colostrum harvesting tonight and very pleased with the 5ml syringe I've filled!

ZylaB · 19/05/2016 07:28

lil to be fair, your diet is way tougher than mine. Because I'm on insulin I can eat pretty much what I fancy and adjust my insulin to cope with it, so I've more freedom than you, though I am meant to be sensible!

Peenut · 19/05/2016 21:00

Good news about the heartbeat Zyla!

How is the GD management going Lil? Are you being driven wild with lack of sweet stuff? I think getting off my current fix of daily chocolate/cake is going to be a nightmare post birth - I'm sure cutting out all the crap now will make resuming post delivery normal eating a doddle. (Every cloud!)

NCT teacher spoke about pros and cons of having the injection vs letting nature take its course. I think she did say something about a risk of pph without the injection but also said having it can mean the uterus contracts too quickly and the placenta is retained. Hmm. She did says it's usually offered if birth has been traumatic or long and your body can might not function as it should so I guess if all goes OK I might see how things progress?

One guy last night asked what the hell the placenta was, he said he had never heard of it until recently and had no idea it had to be 'given birth' to! Te he, he prob only asked what half the other men were thinking.

lildottie · 19/05/2016 22:07

zyla I cried a little at that last post. Maybe I should just eat crap and get high readings so they give me insulin! Lol. (Joke obvs)

Pee it's been really hard but I've managed to stay on just one metformin a day for the last month. And only a couple of weeks to go now so nearly out the other side. Looking forward to thick white toast and chocolate after I have the baby! Going to be hard not to go on a major binge.

Love that one of the guys asked what placenta was. Impressed by his bravery. Sounds like your tea her may have been a bit more clued up than mine. I'm thinking if I have the oxytocin drip for induction them medical may be best but otherwise I might "suck it and see" and just have the injection if it's not happening. Hardest decision to make i think this one.

SockQueen · 20/05/2016 07:34

3rd stage is one of the easiest decisions for me! (No prizes for guessing Wink )

lil do you have any good online resources for GDM diet? My consultant said it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to follow it even though I've not been diagnosed - next GTT on 7th June - as he thinks it's good for people with PCOS/high BMI anyway. I've done a bit of reading online and am generally trying to reduce my high GI intake, but still have quite a bit of complex carbs in my diet.

24/40 today, so technically 3rd trimester, though it doesn't really feel like it!

lildottie · 20/05/2016 07:45

Here you go sock www.gestationaldiabetes.co.uk/gestational-diabetes-diet/
This website is amazing. There's a Facebook group to. I think I can request you be added if we r fb friends. Sky added me so if I can't do it she can if u wanted in!
You talking about 7th June has me going omg, I might have a baby then! or be ready to kill myself from 3 days of labour

YogaPants · 20/05/2016 18:40

Glad to hear that you are able to keep gd under control without insulin, lil and that you are managing yours in pregnancy well too Zyla!

I've made it to mat leave still pregnant and have 100 things to do around the house, most not even baby related but rather stuff I was putting off because of work (caulking jobs, giving the garden a bit of attention, get an electrician around etc).

Also been gathering resources for natural baby eviction to start: colostrum harvesting kit, raspberry leaf tea and fresh pineapple (on sale this week from lidl) are at hand. I might give myself another day or two, however, as I would like to get through some more of my not urgent but requiring attention to-do list before I have an excuse to put it all off for another six months. 😀

lildottie · 20/05/2016 20:32

How would I know if I was having a contraction (real or bh) rather than just that the baby was doing something wierd. Had a sudden sharp period crampy pain in the bottom of my pelvis, like where you'd normally get period pains, and wondering if it may have been a contraction or baby moving down

FuzzyOwl · 20/05/2016 20:33

For me lil I started with period pains and then I gradually got definite twinges and tightening that got closer together and more intense.
