Sorry to hear that we are all still suffering with these early stages!

On that note, is anyone else suffering with back pain? I spend around 6-8 hours of my work day on my feet/walking around so I'm assuming this is not helping. I do try to rest as much as I can but it's really not always possible. I know your back muscles loosen a bit but it's becoming so painful when I get home!

H0p3 · 01/04/2016 03:56

Up in the middle of the night to wee and now can't go back to sleep. The vivid dreams aren't helping either!

Thurlow hope you're okay after yesterday. I've found myself pretty wobbly at times the last few weeks and people in the office have definitely noticed. I often have to stop what I'm doing and put my head between my legs which is not a great look when you're having an informal meeting!

Cake and Chat your experiences sound heart wrenching. I'm so sorry for your losses and in awe of your strength.

Fuzzy I was taking pregnacare conception until last week when I finished the pack. I know GPs recommend it (mine did) but the iron made me even more constipated so now just taking folic acid and vit D which is much cheaper too. May get vit D with calcium next time as I already have a slight calcium deficiency (or I did) but my understanding was that they should be sufficient. I think finding what works for your body as well as supporting baby is important - the you bit us just as important as the baby bit there I think.

Jade I don't have general back pain but in the evenings my sciatica seems to be flaring up quite a lot. I've had phases of it previously but it's been fine and non existent for several years now and it is definitely back and I'm sure pregnancy related. My mom is insisting I go and speak to the GP about it as she says it will only get worse. I suspect you may want to do the same depending on how bad it is. It's early days and I guess some of these things will only increase over time.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 01/04/2016 07:56

Jade I've been suffering with bad lower ball pain since I had my DD (back to back labour) and at my midwife sent a referral to physio for me at my booking appointment on Wed. I'm hoping it helps. I've never suffered with it before so I like the idea of some help!!

Canters15 · 01/04/2016 08:13

fuzzy I would love to speak to my midwife but I don't have one yet! Have had an appointment through for my 12 week scan but still no bloody booking appointment....

RaeSkywalker · 01/04/2016 08:21

I feel so awful today. Cyclizine doesn't seem to be helping any more Sad

Need to leave in an hour for my blood test and honestly don't think I can cope Sad

Slumberparty · 01/04/2016 08:53

I'm taking pregnacare conception (since I've got loads left) and been feeling really nauseous most days. If folic acid and vitamin D are the really important ones then I may get hold of them instead. I've not actually been sick so not as bad as some of you, but feeling sick all the time is starting to get me down and I worry about the next few months having to feel like this. I'm fed up of feeling miserable about it!

DuckWaddle · 01/04/2016 09:11

Rae- you poor thing. It sounds awful- there is a drug that is advised by NICE for HG. It's very expensive so they try not to use it but you should push for it.
I couldn't face the size of the pregnacare tablets which only make me feel more like throwing up so I've stuck with the tiny seven seas 'trying to conceive' tablets - they contain the recommended folic acid and vit D

I've just had a night of my toddler vomiting. I'm dreading catching it too. Last week it was scarlet fever! I'm wiped!

Thurlow · 01/04/2016 09:21

Rae, last pregnancy cyclizine worked for a week or so and then stopped, and I tried Stemetil instead which worked better. Time to go back to the GP and try something else? I've seen you on the HG thread so I know Lucinda & co can recommend what you need. But they don't all work all the time so please go back and ask.

Flowers and deepest sympathy for those of you who have suffered such a horrible loss before.

I feel better today, just a bit banged up - my wrists and shoulders hurt, they obviously took the brunt of my weight. And still so embarrassed Blush DD got me a plaster and a chocolate to make it better when I got home, as far as she is concerned that fixes everything Grin

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 01/04/2016 09:25

I've found my nausea is much better in the mornings with the seven seas pregnancy vits than pregnacare. It's now kicking in about 4pm which it did in my last pregnancy when I took folic acid and vitamin d separately whereas it was all day long on pregnacare. They're slightly cheaper too!

Thurlow · 01/04/2016 09:31

I'm just on Vitamin D and Folic Acid, and then Vitamin B6 for the nausea which has seemed to help both times. I remember stopping it last time when I ran out, and within two days I was a lot sicker. Anything is worth a try!

likeawestern · 01/04/2016 09:55

Ah Rae that sounds rough. Back to the GP.

Thurlow I imagine that you are very sore today - bless your dd though!!

Pregnacare come in such big tablets and they have an odd smell about them. Can't get them anywhere near my mouth let alone swallow them!!

RaeSkywalker · 01/04/2016 10:32

Thanks all, my mum came to give me a lift for the blood test and I nearly fainted at the front door Blush I've given up on the bloods and my GP is going to call me at lunchtime.

Thurlow · 01/04/2016 10:45

Oh no Sad I hope you get a good response from the GP

FuzzyOwl · 01/04/2016 10:46

Interesting that so many of you have the same experience with Pregnacare. I think I will finish the packet because the nausea they cause me makes me feel psychologically better about the pregnancy and then swap to folic acid and vitamin d.

Canters I suspect midwives don't like women to have their numbers too early on in pregnancy because they get called lots if they do. I was only permitted my midwife's number at almost nine weeks and prior to that it was very much a what will be, will be attitude.

Oh Rae I really do hope you can get some medication to help.

Thurlow your DD sounds lovely and I hope the plaster and chocolate helped a little.

Hope you don't catch anything Duck and your toddler makes a quick recovery.

Rae that sounds aweful I hope your doctor is able to do something for you.

I had a one hour nap after work yesterday and then didn't sleep all night. I watched every hour tick by. I finally got drowsy at about 5:30am and my alarm went off at 6. I had to call in sick as I just couldn't function on so little sleep. I'm a language teacher and spend most of my lessons speaking. I just couldn't face it.

I'm having quite a bit of trouble sleeping in general.

Golfbuggy1 · 01/04/2016 11:02

Hi, could I join please? I'm due 16th November. Currently suffering with dreadful nausea and dry retching but no vomiting, for some reason. It's ruining any excitement I might have felt so far!

FuzzyOwl · 01/04/2016 11:19

finding I have insomnia as well. So much for pregnancy fatigue! I do feel shattered in the afternoon/evening, but go to bed and then my mind wakes up and worries. I don't blame you for calling in sick and I hope you are able to have a relaxing day.

Welcome Golf and I hope the nausea and retching eases for you.

OP posts:
Thurlow · 01/04/2016 11:33

Hi Golf, and sympathies with the retching, it's horrible!

Fedupithink · 01/04/2016 11:34

Flowers to those of you who have experienced loss, I struggled with my mc at 9.5 weeks so I cannot even imagine what you must have been through.

I'm taking pregnacare max, it's 2 tablets plus an omega 3 capsule. I take it about an hour after my evening meal as I can't stomach it at the same time. I was taking the conception version but switched when I found out as I had lots in the house.

My boobs seem to have gotten bigger again, I'm going to need a new bra soon at this rate.

I've had a few mini-dizzy spells and headaches but mostly just suffering with tiredness and nausea/loss of appetite but the next day I'll be ravenous and eat everything carby/salty.

Starting to worry about my lack of fruits/veg/meat - but hoping the vitamins are taking care of that side whilst I can't.

I registered for the midwife after my early scan last weds but still haven't heard anything about booking in - should I chase now or wait until next week? Here they refer you for your 12 week scan at your booking appt so I don't want to leave it too long and miss the window?

JadeT2 · 01/04/2016 11:41

Fedupithink I registered with my surgery two weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet, I'm 8 wks tomorrow. I was going to call again on Monday if I haven't heard by then. It does vary in every area though doesn't it, some consistency would be nice!

Golfbuggy1 · 01/04/2016 11:45

Thank you. Hoping the first trimester passes quickly and quietly for us.

I'm sorry to read of the losses some of you have endured. Not rtft, sorry. I have a terrible feeling about this pg but it's probably in my head. The scan feels like a life time away.

I too have insomnia, it's dc3 for me so I am used to sleep deprivation of the pg or child induced sort! I've been signed off work for a few weeks as I can't tolerate the sickness, such a relief.

KateMossIsMyQueen · 01/04/2016 11:50

Went for my booking in appointment but had to reschedule it as the poor lady ahead of me fainted and had a ridiculously low BP! So back on for next Tuesday instead.

I've been off work all week with a virus, I've still got a banging headache, swollen glands and a solid lymph node in my chin. It's grim. Plus morning sickness and General blergh.

And yet... AND YET, DH is in the grimmest mood ever and is throwing a tantrum because I didn't want to garden with him?! He's gone to the gym in a strop, TELLING me to put some washing on and clean up "my" shit. He did the same yesterday and apologised because I had a hormonal cry and he felt mean. In fairness I have been messier than usual as by the time I've made two slices of toast I need a lie down before I can clean up. But still!

He's from a family where no one ever gets poorly, so he's really struggling with the idea that I can really feel rough all the time. Otherwise he has been bloody brilliant, but today I have an overwhelming urge to direct any morning sickness into his wardrobe...

FuzzyOwl · 01/04/2016 11:56

Oh Kate Angry on your behalf at your DH! My DH really is great but I remember from last time that he would just completely forget I was pregnant and couldn't do things or struggled with others. I am trying to give your DH the benefit of the doubt but I do like your puking in his wardrobe idea as a good reminder! Hope things are ok.

OP posts:
Thurlow · 01/04/2016 11:57

Kate, I can't remember but is this your first pregnancy?

DP was bloody rubbish in my first pregnancy when I was sick. He just didn't "get it". To be fair, he worked shifts and so didn't see an awful lot of the evening sickness, but it was still intensely frustrating. I remember having an epic meltdown at 14w when it still hadn't improved and I think he got it then. But I think it's not that uncommon. Doesn't make it any the less annoying though!

He's being much, much better this time around, taking DD all the time, checking how I feel, running all the meals (he does all the cooking) past me first. The only annoying thing is he keeps trying to make 'healthy and nutritious' food Hmm when all I want is chips!

fuzzywuzzy · 01/04/2016 12:09

Kate, that's really tough, can you talk to him, tell him he's being unreasonable especially as your not well and pregnant with his child, also I don't think gardening is great in case you come into contact with cat poo (I could be wrong).

ex was horrendous when I was expecting, I remember him bringing home about ten friends for me to cook for whilst I was suffering very severe morning (all day all night) sickness.
