October 2016. Thread 3 - Booking In and Dating Scans!

I thought I'd start a new thread now we'be reached 1,000 posts on the last one!

I'm definitely with everyone on the constipation front, unfortunately....

Had my 12 week official scan today and they agreed with the dates for my private scan so I'm 13+4 today; almost at the 2nd trimester! My baby girl was lying there chilled out legs crossed and hands behind her head at one stage. I'm completely in love with her already.

I'm really pleased with the care I've received at Leighton Hopsital so far; they have been amazing. The consultant has prescribed me Clexane which I have to inject everyday as investigations into my previous miscarriages showed I have one gene for factor V leiden and they are concerned that the placenta may not implant properly and the babies growth could slow. Because of this I have got extra scans at 30 weeks and 36 weeks as well. Also my 20 week scan is at 18 weeks- nothing to do with the miscarriages, but because my BMI is low they now scan earlier than 20 weeks for people with low BMI as you can see at this stage any anomalies. Is this common practice or just my hospital? (First baby so pretty clueless).

cake I have a low BMI and got scanned at the usual 20 weeks in my last pregnancy. So may just be your hospital. Or may have changed in the last 3 years. I always got a really clear scan picture even without a full bladder though and they said it was because I was slim.

Follow up scan with the specialist tomorrow - feel sick at the thought of it! Hoping and praying everything is fine and the stuff that was causing them some confusion last time has cleared up.

12 week scan on Tuesday too so a busy few days!

Fish88 they said it was a new thing, but do not know if all hospitals are doing it as well.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow scan not until a week tomorrow I'm finally having stretching pains I remembered them a lot earlier last time. Still have disgusting taste in mouth every night am still knackered and feel fat as a hog so hopefully all good signs. Looking forward to telling work as workload has exploded am feeling a bit stressed out though don't see that changing even if they did know due to then having cut the size of our team in the last week.

I'm exhausted too. The last couple of days have been a killer. Already had a sleep on the sofa since getting in and now in bed. The thought of washing my hair feels like too much hard work. People keep asking if I have any plans for Easter and I honestly can't think of doing much more than lying around snoozing for 4 days!

So sorry gurzle hope you are being looked after during this time. I had an mmc in July last year and it was definitely a shock. Take care.

Then annual leave.

Think DS is over the worst of whatever was wrong - actually got some sleep last night, so feeling human this morning for the first time in a while. Also have a week off next week, so that's getting me through the day in work.

7hours to go until my two weeks Easter break, and I'm away with my family to Centre Parcs for the weekend and got my 12 week scan on Tuesday (at 12w3d)... It's going to be a good few days :)

All ok at today's scan, although little monkey wouldn't stay still for a picture! 12 week scan on tues and then I can hopefully start to be a bit more relaxed about what's happening.

Bluesky You won't need more folic acid after you run out of what you currently have. The folic acid is recommended because it can prevent spinal deformities such as spina bifida. By 12 weeks the neural tube should be sealed up, if it isn't it isn't going to. Folic acid is more important whilst TTC to build up stores in your body and in the earliest weeks of pregnancy.

I arrived home to an envelope with my name on last night, my scan date is 6th April! We're away this weekend for an old school friend's wedding, I can't wait to see everyone and tell them our news

On another note, I'm wearing a dress with a belt today and I've had to put the belt in the next hole along, my waist must be thickening! I'm a little bloated but not hugely and I dread to think how many lbs I've put on in the last 10 weeks but I'll worry about that after the baby is born.

12 weeks today and another lb on the scales. Have agreed with dh that we will tell my parents tonight I'm not living in their house and hiding it from them. If something goes wrong next week I would tell them so they may as well know now.

Away until Monday have had to pack strategically chosen clothing to hide the thickness that's going on.

aahhh I have my 12 week scan tomorrow! I am so nervous about it.. don't know how I will sleep tonight. Congrats on yours today Northern.

Had my scan today and measuring a week earlier but happy to see a strong heartbeat and the little one starting to look like a real baby at 9-10w!

Had my dating scan today. Put my due date back a few days so now due 5th October. Saw a lovely wriggly baby in there

Still waiting for a date for mine at 10+4! And the letter won't arrive till after Easter I guess.... aaaarrrggghh!
