Does the mw refer you for a scan, ie does the scan rely on the booking in appt.? So if I push back my booking in am I then pushing back my scan?

Morning all and welcome! So many of us.
Realised my 12 week scan is in the easter holidays which actually is great. Mean I won't have to get time off work.

Feeling crap today... not sure if it's cold or bean.

shrops I got both my dates together... seperate letters but arrived on the same day so no.
I think your scan has to be between 11-13 weeks so they can't push it back too much.
Hope you are sleeping better!

Dd is full of beans today... We have a day trapped at home with carpet fitters.😐

I'm hoping for an early scan too so I'll call in to self refer today. I'm still unsure as to which hospital I want to go with (big decision!) but I assume easy to change? I've read safest bet is to go with the closest one simply for convenience.

Anyone else find they are waking up early? I'm partial to a good lie in and would hit snooze 3 times but the last couple of days I've been waking an hour before my alarm!

I've started getting terrible nausea the last couple of days and am waking up numerous times during the night. Working from home today luckily but not sure how I'm going to get through busy full time weeks at work when I am this exhausted!
Couldn't get my booking in appt til 9 weeks.

Hoping I have a similar pregnancy, I wasn't sick at all, but need to control my biscuit habits, I was the size of a baby elephant last time, have finally started to back into some old clothes, and I fall pregnant if you don't laugh you'll cry

I'm having a major stress as I have an exam today, which is really important for my job. I feel sick and headachy, and I don't know if it's stress or early symptoms!

I also feel guilty because DS stayed with my DM last night so I could sleep before the exam, so I haven't seen him since yesterday evening, and I miss him, so I'm teary about that.

Nausea is starting to kick in now, have to keep eating to keep it at bay. Really should be fruit and not biscuits. SIL wants to meet up but worried I won't be able to hide it, this is def the longest I have kept it quiet haven't even rang the midwife/gp yet.

I came off the list too. Yesterday was hard - sick at 4am, 6, 6.30, 7am, and then it came on strong on the bus home at 5pm. Managed to hold it in - and then threw up over my shoes once off the bus. Had to eat all day to control the nausea so I could get some work done - sick of eating, and upset by all the health advice that says "you don't need any more calories in the first trimester". How do you control the nausea then?

I've had to cut exercise as it was making me so hungry and tired and making the sickness worse.

But, today is much better. Only a teeny bit sick today, and didn't need to get up at 4am and start eating to control it. Perhaps 3 nights of 8.30pm bedtimes, eating a bag of crisps at 8am and no exercise have helped!

I'm properly amazed by how quickly some of you conceived - fantastic. I think in infertility world it's easy to forget that lots of people manage to get upduffed very easily, whereas once you're into IVF the idea that you could get a BFP from having some sex is such an alien concept!

espresso I'm getting very frustrated with the official advice, too. I have to eat constantly so as not to be sick (I'm sitting at work with a huge bag of popcorn). I asked my doctor how I was meant to exercise when I got so dizzy every time. She checked my blood pressure, said it was low, then repeated the official advice about continuing to do whatever exercise I did before. I wish I could, but taking a packet of biscuits for a walk is working at capacity for me!

I've decided that there are no points to be gained by making things difficult for myself. I'm lucky that this is my first so I can spend the evening on the sofa, so am going to take advantage of it.

bluecarrot that's such a sweet way to tell DP although he really has to do something serious to compete now! Is this your first DC together? It's our anniversary of being together next week and we are going out without the kids. Maybe that would be a good time to tell him.....! I'll be 6 weeks then which is my target due to previous early mcs. I just can't believe I have this little poppy seed growing inside me. I'm not feeling anything different at the moment however I know the bone-aching exhaustion will kick in around 8 weeks.

Should probably ring my GP to find what their process is. Where we used to live I went to the GP and they referred to MW.

Oh, can't remember who said upthread their little one is 20 months..... there's 2.5 years between my 2. It's turning out to be a really great age gap. There will be 23 months between my DS and this baby. Crazy times
