I have spent most of today lying in bed feeling ill. So glad DH has been looking after our DD and just as glad MN has started working again as I was beginning to slowly rock back and forth!

Tallblue · 27/02/2016 14:55

( Waves to ChChiRaRa fellow resident of the Middle East! We have an interesting summer ahead... Pretty hot where I am already )

Just catching up on thread.

To those with spotting/pain etc thinking of you and hang in there Flowers

teagirl I'm another one only able to function after a cup of tea. I've been trying to cut out caffeine but finding I can't get through the morning without a hot, sweet tea.

Took DD (18 months) to the zoo this morning, it was so hot by the time we left I felt quite faint. Running around after a toddler is so hard, can't imagine how much harder this will be with a big bump. Slight panic.

I have an OB doctor appointment next week when I'll be 8 weeks. Not sure if I'll be scanned or not, the system here is variable.

Symptoms mainly low level nausea all day and crushing tiredness. All good fun!

Tallblue · 27/02/2016 15:01

Oh, how could I forget- also the most heinous wind and bloating Blush

ditsygal · 27/02/2016 15:55

Anyone else's partners just not understanding the tiredness and nausea? My DH told me today I must have a really bad pregnancy as he doesn't know anyone else who seems this ill in the first trimester, and that 2 women he manages at work have been pregnant this year and both worked 11 hour days and seemed fine. Hmm I did try and point out that given before 12 weeks he didn't know they were pregnant, he probably didn't know about the times they wanted to sleep at their desk, or went to be sick in the toilets!
Just annoyed that he seems to think I am over reacting, and as a stay at home mum I somehow have it easy. Especially as he is usually really good at recognising that I work hard at home looking after our 3 year old!

goldenpineapple · 27/02/2016 15:55

Welcome & congrats to panda and MrsM!

Indi fx for you - can imagine Wednesday feels like a whole lifetime away right now, hope you manage to have a relaxing weekend.

Taco - I will have a look at that meditation app - I could definitely do with a bit of headspace and something to keep the anxiety at bay.

Joining those who are feeling crappy today - have been on the sofa all day under a blanket. Ick. Constant nausea, not helped by the most disgusting taste in my mouth that I just can't get rid of. And the fridge smells awful. DH has gone away for the weekend and couldn't smell anything before he left. There is nothing in there that is old or bad, but to me it literally smells like something died it there. So weird and so so gross. Want to deep clean it but can't face it and tbh i'm pretty sure its just me. I never knew pregnancy did such bizarre things!

Gigglebert · 27/02/2016 16:18

Hi all, just checking in, hope those feeling sick get some relief soon! I'm currently enjoying ten minutes of respite from the awful nausea as I've just taken two gaviscon tablets! Unfortunately they also give me incredible wind so it's a toss up as to what is worse most days!

TeaGirl3 · 27/02/2016 16:57

It's a day of firsts for me. The nausea that I posted about earlier and also the first time I've become emotional. I've been trying to buy a pair of under bump jeans today, but couldn't get any in town in the right size, so I came home to buy some online. I wanted to buy the new look ones, but they are only in larger sizes; I tried emailing them, but the system kept failing and then I just started crying. I'm not one to usually react like that, so it took me by surprise. My DH was wonderful and very understanding, and reassured me that it's just hormones! Now I'm thinking more clearly, I'll just look on another website Smile.

clank2 · 27/02/2016 17:03

Ladies...a terrible realisation has hit me. Chocolate makes me sick. i have tried and tested this idea several times. Its definitely the chocolate Chocolate Sad

TeaGirl3 · 27/02/2016 17:07

Oh no clank. At least you've discovered what it is that makes you sick. Hope you find an alternative to enjoy instead, but appreciate it's not the same (as I found last night with the non alcoholic sparking wine, haha).

FuzzyOwl · 27/02/2016 17:13

Oh no, not chocolate! Last pregnancy I found that hot chocolate was my saviour and then as j progressed chocolate milkshake. The thought of excluding chocolate along with everything else, and feeling fat and sick, for nine months is not a welcome one!

wondermoose · 27/02/2016 17:13

Oh no clank! :(

pineapple I just walked down the dairy aisle at tesco and nearly barfed, it was hideous! Dh thinks I'm over reacting!

As he does with my extreme tiredness today ditsy! Usually we go on short walks with ds at the weekend and I carry him on my back but I just couldn't face it today, and dh had a huff about it!

Afreshstartplease · 27/02/2016 17:18

I think I'm going off meat, OK if it's bits of meat cut up in something but the thought of eating a piece of meat is yuck

itsallgoodfun · 27/02/2016 17:24

Hello everyone.
I only found out on Tuesday but ever since then I can believe I didn't know with all the symptoms I can now see! As soon as I wake up I am ravenous! And then a few hours later if I don't eat as soon as I feel hungry I feel as though bough I'm going to pass out! I've done nothing all day today as I haven't had the children and I'm sure I feel worse for it! Can't eat anything, dizzy if I look up or down and general fluy symptoms! The kids are now home and I'm counting down till bedtime

SimileMilly · 27/02/2016 17:25

We're meant to be going out for an Indian meal tonight and even the thought of it is making me want to spew. Luckily it's a buffet so hoping I can get away with some plain rice and poppadoms. Blush

Afreshstartplease · 27/02/2016 17:26

Welcome itsallgoodfun

How many DC do you already have?

I'm counting down to bedtime here too

SimileMilly · 27/02/2016 17:28

ditsy I went to bed at 9pm last night and was asleep straight away. DP thought I was massively joking because "Friday's are quiet days at work". He doesn't get it either.

I'm exhausted and today the emotions hit. We're having to consider re-homing our dog just now as we're really struggling to cope with him and DD is allergic to him. In my head I know it's the right call but even just thinking about it has left me a snotty, sobby mess Sad

Afreshstartplease · 27/02/2016 17:30

Am I the only one who has had hormone rage instead of tears?

I was steamingly angry this morning

FuzzyOwl · 27/02/2016 17:34

Hello and welcome itsall

I had the rage last time without the tears in my first half of pregnancy. Not sure which is worse to be honest!

Figgygal · 27/02/2016 17:36

I'm rAgey all the time fresh .....with dh and ds feeling crap today am knackered feel bloated and have the horrid taste in my mouth again. Have cancelled tonight's naughty tea were going to have a Chinese but can't be arsed. I just want to go to bed now

goldenpineapple · 27/02/2016 17:41

I totally raged at DH on the phone earlier - so much that I actually hung up on him Blush for no good reason whatsoever. Then proceeded to sob. Then found an article about how to deal with your partners mood swings in pregnancy and emailed it to him!

ditsygal · 27/02/2016 17:52

wondermoose and Similie Thank you, its nice to not feel alone in getting no understanding from DH! I just wish they could experience pregnancy for a few days so they would know we aren't exaggerating!

golden bless you, that did make me laugh a bit though about emailing him the article.

figgy I keep being like that, fancying something naughty for dinner and then realising the idea actually makes me nauseous. Hasn't stopped me gaining about 8lbs so far already anyway though - eating to try and stave off nausea!

I'm jealous of the sugary tea people - I am off my usual coffee or tea without sugar, but fancied tea with sugar yesterday - drank it and then promptly threw up so thats the end of that!

Afreshstartplease · 27/02/2016 18:03

Ah I'm glad I'm not alone in my rage

It's only happened twice so far but I did properly loose it this morning

Need to chill

Planeteer · 27/02/2016 18:20

Just checking in. Send hugs to those suffering with sickness. My nausea is basically under control unless I get too hungry and then I feel vile!

Ditsy and figgy I'm with you on the selective eating thing. I have to mentally scroll through a huge list of stuff before I find something I fancy eating (usually something really specific and also not v good for me). Then by the time I've cooked it, or sometimes halfway through eating it I'll suddenly massively go off it. Think am driving DH crackers!!

vivicrocodile · 27/02/2016 18:32

Just checking in to say hi again - this thread moves so quickly!

I don't really have any symptoms other than being tired and having sore boobs. I'm thankful mostly. I'm still not stressing - I feel so much more relaxed this pregnancy.

I've had my booking in appointment. It was an hour and a quarter- it went on and on.

I have had one emotional moment. I was watching a program about a zoo and an elephant died. I full on sobbed for about 10 mins. Crazy!

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Any cravings at all yet?

climbingcheesecake · 27/02/2016 18:46

Hi, just catching up again.
I am with you on the crazy emotions. Got really upset with a friend the other day because I was worried about something she was doing, but I got way too upset about it. So it probably seemed really weird, as I haven't told anyone about being pregnant yet.
Today I am craving salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.... a bit of a change from the usual toast and plain pasta.
I can't seem to give up tea either, but a bit of caffeine a day is ok isn't it?
Also, I am quite clumsy anyway, but my clumsiness has gone through the roof, I am banging my head on cupboards, stubbing my toes on everything and getting really cross with myself afterwards.
