Wow Army!! How exciting! Well done for listening to those instincts Smile I'll be thinking of you overnight...

GrouchyKiwi · 02/05/2016 20:53

So exciting, army! All the best. Flowers

Wow army that was super speedy!! Looking forward to the next instalment of news, can't be too far off now! Smile

ODog · 02/05/2016 21:55

Lovely room grouchy. I also have upturned stuff in the cot out of reach of toddler and so cats can't claim it as a bed!

Good luck army. Hope your LO isn't unwell when they appear - doesn't sound like you have long to wait though.

Lots of other niggles today. Think we might have an influx this week. I'm ruling myself out of that though even though due date is Friday. I'm thinking I'll be about for a couple of weeks yet!

PearlyFish · 02/05/2016 21:55

So exciting army! I've also got my eye on an epidural, so glad to hear you are enjoying yours!

My waters went with a trickle this eve at about 7.30pm. Got my mum here now so I know DD is in good hands. No contractions yet but I've arranged with delivery suite to go in in the morning to get checked out.

Just doing a few practical things and then should prob try and sleep!

ODog · 02/05/2016 21:58

And another one. Good luck pearly. Hopefully things kick off soon for you.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/05/2016 22:11

Good luck, Pearly!

Trying hard not to be envious. Wink I've got three weeks to go.

Good luck Pearly and Army!

Everythinggettingbigger · 02/05/2016 22:19

Good luck army and pearly

Icecappedpinetrees · 03/05/2016 06:24

Good luck this morning Pearly if you didn't go overnight.

Wow, this thread is really heating up!

I'm now officially less than a week from my due date Grin was two weeks late and induced with my son, that wont happen again

Pikz · 03/05/2016 06:24

Checking in for news :)

Am very jealous... Now very bored of being overdue!

PearlyFish · 03/05/2016 06:24

Well no baby yet and not much sleep either!

Waters continued to go through the night but have slowed now. I have started having mild tightenings but nothing regular.

Will see what they say when I go in to get checked out around 8ish.

Thinking of you army and hoping you've got your baby now Smile

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 03/05/2016 06:30

Exciting times Pearly! Sorry you didn't get much sleep though! I am not onto 2 toilet trips a night and convinced myself (once again!) last night that maybe it was my waters going at 3am but nope, just the need to pee 2 hours after I had already been! Am at due date minus 3 days so I guess it would be asking too much!
Anyway the sun is shining, I didn't sleep so badly (apart from all the wees and being REALLY hot!), had a lovely dinner at ours with a friend last night that I thought I didn't have the energy for but enjoyed SO much, plus DP is off to work so I can just hang out today and enjoy these precious days of pre-baby maternity leave...am a happy bunny! Wishing you all a great day too!

armyofthree · 03/05/2016 06:50

Update- had a beautiful DS at 10:21. It was a great birth because of DH being a superstar. Every time I had a contraction he was up massaging my back and legs to help me get through it. The midwife and student midwife were both excellent as welI. Have had a 9.14 ounce baby and no tear -no need for stitches. Couldn't believe it but they had a really good technique.

Loving holding baby but he is a hungry thing and has been stuck to my breasts all night. Got about hour and a half sleep since yesterday morning.

Thank you all for your support. So nice to get messages while we waited for head to get lower. Smile

Wish I had know this time yesterday-

  • trying to do it without drugs is way over rated!
  • I should bring four sets of pjs (after birth bleeding is horrendous)
  • bring more food and snacks - you don't know what you will fancy at the time

Good luck and please feel free to ask questions. I'm sure I've forgotten things that would be helpful to know.

Pikz · 03/05/2016 06:51

Congratulations army!

Icecappedpinetrees · 03/05/2016 06:55

Army! That's brilliant! Huge congratulations on the birth of your son. Your labour sounds really positive Flowers Flowers I'd be delighted to come away with no tears and what a fantastic weight!

Will you have any chance for some sleep today?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 03/05/2016 06:56

Wonderful lovely news Army and I LOVE when people share positive birth stories!! Enjoy your new little one FlowersFlowers

ODog · 03/05/2016 07:01

Congrats army. Wow what a good size. YY to lots of pjs. I made that mistake last time.

pearly - sounds like start of DS's birth. I didn't go into anything like proper labour until 24hrs after my waters went but then DS turned up 5 hours after it all kicked off so quite quick in the end. They will probably wave to talk about inducing you in the next day or two. I managed to avoid it by half an hour in the end!

Had a horrific nights sleep with a combo of 4/5 wees, BHs and the worst heartburn ever. Typically DS slept really well!

29redshoes · 03/05/2016 07:05

That is wonderful news, congratulations army!!

And good luck pearly...

Everythinggettingbigger · 03/05/2016 07:12

Congratulations Army....loving the positive birth stories! What a lovely weight and even lovelier that you didn't need stitches!! Enjoy your little bundle of joy!

Thinking of you pearly hope things speed up soon!

Well after my day yesterday and even sitting up until 12am timing contractions DP and I fell asleep and I feel absolutely fine this morning......so bloody annoying! 37 weeks today!

Sephipops · 03/05/2016 07:26

Aww, congratulations! Can't believe the size, especially paired with the no stitches!

GrouchyKiwi · 03/05/2016 08:04

Congratulations, army! And well done to you and your DH. Sounds like a really good birth.

Congratulations army!

PearlyFish · 03/05/2016 10:51

Congrats army! That's lovely news :-)

I'm not long back from the hospital (not much happened overnight). They were satisfied that it was my waters and after 20 min or so on a trace they can see that baby is happy and I am contracting (mildly). They would be happy to leave things up to 48 hours but I'm keen to get going, so they agreed to induce at 8pm which will be just over 24hrs since waters went. Have had a bit of show this morning too. Currently sat on my ball contemplating a nap as I didn't get much sleep last night!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine today x

frozensmoothie · 03/05/2016 11:20

Congrats army! Hope everything goes well with the induction this evening pearly and you manage to get some sleep before then!

40+2 today and still nothing happening so going to go out and enjoy the sunshine!
