Thanks for asking bear. It was ok but very awkward as there was wild dancing and lots of drinking - I had expected things to be more sedate. I think I got away with my mini-bump but I must be giving some signals as one of my friends who works with me drunkenly told me she dreamt that I was pregnant, and asked me if I was. I had to say no as it really wasn't the right time - she was half cut and the music was so loud you couldn't talk! I'll tell her soon though.

Otherwise I think we got away with it!

Sorry to hear a few of you are not feeling too well - I often have a dodgy tummy and can't wait to come home from work for a nice long shower and my bed. Doing very little else at the moment. Huge respect to those of you who are doing all this with toddlers/small children around!! Grin

Sophia1984 · 22/02/2016 20:40

Thanks Bear :-) My line manager agreed that I should be paid more, so is going to raise it with senior management - hurrah!

That hot water bottle looks amazing!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 22/02/2016 21:11

hgl I've also found lying on my back and then doing some "air cycling" helps. But again - ensure you are alone!

rumisyum · 22/02/2016 22:21

Hello hello hello all! Sorry to have been MIA for weeks & weeks. I think I've been in denial about being pregnant again! Shock The bump is making it pretty unmistakeable/undeniable now though. I'm sure I wasn't this big this early last time? My poor, wrecked abdominal muscles...

Need to catch up properly, but I'm sorry to read about the concerning screening results. I hope the follow up amnios/harmony tests are very reassuring.

And so jealous of those of you feeling proper movements already! I'm 16 weeks & only felt the occasional flutter so far. This bub seems a lot quieter than my DS - he was stomping up a storm in the womb. (He still is outside of it.) Tho, as I was writing this I felt some flutters. Guess I haven't been sat still enough for long enough to pay attention. Smile

How are the other mums of toddlers doing? When I was last on the thread there were a few of us nutters who'll be having an 18-month-ish gap between our DCs. I'm finding this pregnancy is FLYING by, especially now that I'm back at work from my last mat leave (& announcing to everyone that I'll be gone again in a few months, fun times).

Anyway, glad to be back on board the bus!

rumisyum · 22/02/2016 22:23

bearhuggy that hot water bottle is LUSH.

OwlinaTree · 22/02/2016 22:24

Well done stranded, sounds like you pulled it off. Congrats on your pay rise Sophia, bet you are glad you asked now!

Some interesting images now of you guys getting rid of trapped wind!

Fizzyboo · 23/02/2016 05:19

Hi ladies, sorry I disappeared for a little bit, we got accepted for the new house rental and that's when j decided to totally have a freak out about money!
It was going to cost us an extra £700 a month (our current place is ridiculously cheap) and I lost it because we 'd be up against it financially if we took it and time I could afford to take as mat leave would be negligible. After much sobbing and a very loving DH trying his best to console me, we've decided to stay in the one bed flat till the baby is 6 months, so we can save and sort ourselves out properly/save a lot of money as well as dealing with just one major life change at a time.
I feel like I disappointed him as the house was great and he felt like he was providing the best for me and the baby, but I think it's better to have a bit more free cash and familiarity for a bit.
Couple it with preggo +10 emotions and I'm happy it's done with now. I'm exhausted!

MrsSantaClause · 23/02/2016 08:40

It was me doing the headshave bear, unfortunately after discussions with my hairdresser I've decided not to do the whacky colours as she said she'd have to leave the bleach on for longer as my hair is already dyed, so I've decided to knit myself whacky coloured wigs for afterwards instead Grin anyway here's the link:
https://www.justgiving.com/Eggparky

Sorry I've not posted much recently, I'm feeling slightly concerned and trying not to panic too much as I'm sure it's all fine, but am feeling absolutely no movements at all, and if it wasn't for my bump I would honestly not know I was pregnant, so hoping all is ok. Confused I'm trying to be patient as it's probably still a bit early at 16+1 but it's quite nerve wracking!

Bought a medela breast pump from eBay at the weekend though, starting me to cross things off my list of things I need to buy Smile

FourForYouGlenCoco · 23/02/2016 09:30

twist gorgeous bump!
stranded glad you got away with it, your friend probably won't even remember, sounds like the drinks were flowing!
Sophia that's great news re your pay rise, will come in handy over the next few months. You obviously do a good job!
rum glad to hear you're doing well. I'm so much bigger this time round too and my DD is 3.5 so thought my muscles would have recovered by now! I take my hat off to everyone doing this with tiny ones, tbh I'm finding it quite easy with just DD but she does go to preschool 2.5 days a week, which helps massively.
Fizzy fwiw I think it's sensible to stick with what you know for a while. We bought our house when I was pg with DD and went for something small that we knew 100% we'd be able to afford. It was the best choice for us and we've never regretted it, I love my little house! Babies don't care where they sleep or how much space they have, and it sounds like it would be an awful lot of stress for you to move at the moment.
MrsS please don't worry! With DD at 16 weeks I wouldn't have known I was pg either. No bump, no movements, felt absolutely normal. The joy of the second tri - you feel like yourself again! Its totally fine and normal not to feel anything til 18 weeks or even later. If you're really worried, could you stretch to a private scan? You could find out gender too if you wanted!

No change here, lots of wriggles still - my uterine muscles are clearly wrecked! Bump growth seems to have slowed down/stopped a bit, but this baby is so SO low so I think that's why. It spends its days chilling out on my bladder, needing a wee is actually painful at the moment!
Still having lots of house viewings, really need someone to buy this bloody house! I ideally want to be moved by the time I'm huge, and definitely by the time baby arrives, and time is ticking on now. 😕 Plus I'm very lazy and don't want to clean any more, fed up of keeping everything spotless & tidy!

OP posts:
Basketofwool · 23/02/2016 10:19

Is it normal to find bladder control a bit of an issue this early in pregnancy? I'm 17+4 and for a couple of weeks now I've been having little 'leaks' when I'm really desperate for the loo. Its my first pregnancy so I wouldn't have thought my pelvic floor would be weak already?

strandedabroad · 23/02/2016 10:40

Those of you who have bought a Doppler and are happy with it - would you mind sharing which one you got?

I bought the £20 Angelsounds off Amazon but it was so plasticky and cheap-looking, the earphone jack actually got detached and fell inside the machine (sigh) just before my first try. So I'm still Doppler-less.

Any recommendations would be appreciated Smile

Christinedonna · 23/02/2016 10:59

I spent about £27 on mine. It just says "fetal Doppler on the box" if you go onto Amazon it's one of the ones most people are selling. Mines perfect

bearhuggy · 23/02/2016 11:35

stranded sounds like you got away with it and it was a lot of fun! Bet your colleague will say 'I toldddd youuu so' when you share the news. I also got the Angel Sounds doppler from Amazon and it's worked great each time...I have to admit, it does feel rather plasticky and cheap tho, but I haven't had any problems. Such a shame yours broke, def send it back for a new one.

sophia great news on your meeting yesterday, I hope senior management comes back confirming pay rise!

fizzy I think you have done the right thing, last thing you want is to feel unsettled or financially restricted, you can always move later once things have settled in. We are in the middle of a house sale and house buy and I have to say, it's really rather stressful and not what I want to be dealing with at the moment...leaving it to the husband!!

santa thanks for re-sharing link, great cause and I look forward to seeing the wigs! Wouldn't worry about movement, I am 17 + 4 and haven't felt anything yet, it's normal.

basket not sure about incontinence, are you doing pelvic floor exercises? the Kegel trainer app is really great, perhaps give it a try? I have been feeling more pressure on my bladder this past week or so, getting a bit better now as I think baby is growing more upwards!? coco sounds like you are in the same boat with a naughty low down babe!

MrsSantaClause · 23/02/2016 11:57

Thanks for your sponsorship bear, in the back of my mind I kind of know it's too early to feel movement anyway, but nothing stops you worrying does it Confused?
Best get this blanket finished so I can knit some wigs Grin

TwistInMySobriety · 23/02/2016 15:47

basket I get very slight, um, leakage when I run for a bus, so yes I think it is normal.

Sophia1984 · 23/02/2016 18:08

Thanks Owlina bearhuggy and FourforYou :-) Yes, so glad I brought it up as doubt they would have done anything otherwise.

MrsS No wriggles here either. Is this your first pregnancy? I read that even in later pregnancy it can take till after 20 weeks to feel movement.

*Fizzyboo8 I've just been through exactly the same thing, except I was crazy enough to think I could afford to buy somewhere! Feel so much more relaxed now we've decided to stay put for now. DP painted the 'nursery' the other day :-)

Basketofwool Same here - I sneezed and did a little wee the other day :-( I don't know how to do proper kegels - I always feel like I'm moving my bum too much! Blush Baby seems to have decided my bladder is a comfy pillow - need to wee absolutely all the time!

Really excited today as I have a proper bump I can't hide by breathing in! going out for a friend-I-haven't-told's birthday tonight, so excited about telling her too, and my best friend is coming to stay next week with her little 5 month old :-)

Fizzyboo · 23/02/2016 18:53

Bear & Sophia, today I feel like such a weight has lifted, I've been sorting out the current house with whole new eyes today, I can't believe I didn't even consider staying as an option, but I'm glad we got there in the end Grin
I got my 'accidentally taken too early' blood Down's results today. I was too late for the combined so was supposed to wait passed 15weeks for the quadruple (I was 14+3) but they stuck me anyway in the confusion.
The results say 1:7500. My midwife said she'll redo the bloods for the quadruple but am I wrong to figure the results wouldn't be that different to the ones that arrived today?

rumisyum · 23/02/2016 20:18

Squeeze & lift, ladies! You'll appreciate it later! I hear the Squeezy app is really good.

Babies take up surprisingly little space. It's all the kit that takes up the room & most of it is variably useful & becomes obsolete really rapidly anyway. We're squeezing in another in our tiny place with no immediate plans to move - I'm sure it'll be fine for at least the first 6 months & then we can reassess.

I'm still feeling really knackered. Can't tell if it's pregnancy or due to having a toddler. Hmm

hgleslie89 · 23/02/2016 20:59

Found a good deal on the cot we wanted so may have just gone ahead and bought it... Starting to feel a bit more real, helped by the fact that I've definitely got a more prominent bump today (17+3)

MrsSantaClause · 23/02/2016 21:04

No Sophia it's no.4 Confused think I just need to be patient, I'm sure it will be fine. Smile

FourForYouGlenCoco · 24/02/2016 11:05

Basket I sneezed and peed myself a few weeks ago! Not done it since but only because I now sneeze and squeeze Grin
Here's my 17+5 bump shot - it's definitely getting there! Last time I popped massively between 18 weeks and 22 weeks so expecting the same to happen again Smile

morning all from a very sunny and bright london, weather is making me feel happy today!

sophia so nice to see a little bump isn't it, makes it all feel more real. Mine is still to the right but gradually filling out more day by day!

fizzy great you feel more positive about the house! Now you don't have the added stresses of moving etc you can really enjoy nesting and getting everything ready. As rumi said, you don't need much space for a little baby and moving can come later. Not sure about the bloods to be honest but your results are great, can't see how they would change significantly...but maybe give midwife a quick call to check??

leslie exciting you are buying...I haven't bought a thing yet, feeling very disorganised! Think we've decided on the Bugaboo Camelon 3 so thats one tick on the list. Once the house sale goes through I can start to think about nursery and what will go where, does a baby need a wardrobe?! I mean it's clothes are so small, they wouldn't be hung?!

santa my pleasure Smile

coco great bump!! it's growing!

anyone got any great pregnancy / looking after baby book recommendations? looking on amazon and so many options Confused

Christinedonna · 24/02/2016 11:40

The other day. I feel like I've lost weight and the bumps showing because of that. Is that just what growing a baby feels like?

Dileas29 · 24/02/2016 13:06

Hi all, great bump pics- makes it feel so real! sophia that's great news about the pay rise I hope your line manager fights the battle for you!

VivaHate · 24/02/2016 13:51

It's nice to see the bump pics, I'm 15+6 and do have a bit of a bump (though I don't know if some of it is just the flab getting pushed up Blush . Keep thinking I feel movements/flutters, especially if I am sitting still or in bed, I've never felt anything like them before.

bearhuggy we got the Pregnancy For Men book, it's really informative and to the point.
