Squiggle it might be a good sign that you've not heard back already. It would be a nice surprise for you anyway for it come back low risk! Best of luck. Was it the blood tests last time that put you at high risk?

Stranded that dress takes weeks off you compared to the maternity gear!

Hope you feel better soon jw. No doubt baby is tucked up in there blissfully unaware of your discomfort, stealing all your nutrients from you!

Colabottle10 · 20/02/2016 13:13

Got my Combined test results in the post today, my risk is 1 in 20397, which I'm really pleased about as I'll be 37 when I give birth.

lilygirl81 · 20/02/2016 14:14

cola that's brilliant news, they are great odds

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 20/02/2016 14:14

christine sorry you are not doing so well. It's so hard to know what's do. I have had days were I felt I couldn't face work but once I was showered and dressed and out I actually managed. Go back to he doc for sure though if you don't feel well enough.

jw excellent news for your sister! Rubbish you have had a bug though - try ice lollies to stay hydrated.

cola great odds for your combined test.

stranded that dress is great!

hgleslie I'm going to ask at mine next week but not sure if they will listen or not.

fly are you still about?

15 + 5

Dileas29 · 20/02/2016 14:15

stranded the dress is fab you look lovely in both pics, enjoy your night out and hope isn't too stressful hiding it!
16+2 and with DD they let me hear heartbeat at 16 weeks as long as we would "promise not to panic and go straight up to hospital" if we couldn't hear it. said the same to our midwife yesterday at 16 week apt and she refused point blank to do it! Disappointing! Having a teary day after a lot of frustrations and DH told me to keep the noise down when he saw me. Charming

PickleBot · 20/02/2016 15:55

Hi all, sorry to have been AWOL for a bit, i have been lurking, but too busy to get into a post. We finally got to go to the event I've been planning with some friends for months. It was amazing and went really well; I'm hopeful we'll get asked back next year too. I'm slowly catching up with life after it.

I'm feeling quite a lot of movement now in the evenings when I get into bed. I've got my consultant's appointment and my 16w mw appointment next week. I'm hoping I get to hear a heart beat at one of them. From my 12w scan I think my placenta is on the outside wall of my womb (again) so it might prove to be a bit tricky, but we'll see. I'm glad to say most of the nausea has gone now, but i'm still shattered all the time and so so spotty! My skin wasn't this bad when I was a teenager! Where's my glowing second trimester!

JW so glad to hear about your sister having matches, fingers crossed it all goes according to plan and you can have he back as vital as she was. xx

Sorry some of you are still struggling with sickness, Christine do see another dr, they can sign you off if you are struggling. Intense sickness is not "just being pregnant" Hmm

Kstar8 · 20/02/2016 16:09

14 week lurker here Smile
I'm feeling less nauseous and have some energy back but once or twice a week I'm getting headaches that will not shift with sleep or by drinking.
I've taken paracetamol once but trying to avoid it. Is anyone else getting persistent headaches? They feel a bit like tension headaches, eyes and top of head hurt. Is anyone else taking paracetamol?

OwlinaTree · 20/02/2016 16:52

I've taken paracetamol a bit, had a virus a couple of weeks ago and Dr advised it. Plus I've had some today as feeling headachy and coldy.

lilygirl81 · 20/02/2016 17:23

kstar hi, that's rubbish about your headaches, but remember paracetamol is absolutely safe to take when you need it.

Pickle nice to see you back Smile

I'm just back from my harmony test, all measurements seemed perfect and structures looked band on date, sonographer couldn't see anything to worry about, and the baby has a very clear little button nose, so fingers crossed the bloods come back clear. We also found out we are having a little girl which I am over the moon about.

quitecrunchy · 20/02/2016 18:54

Lily that's fab, glad all looks good with your baby girl! No doubt all this worry will be for nothing at all. I'm hoping we find out the sex too when the harmony results come back Smile

Hi kstar, welcome!

squigglepants · 20/02/2016 21:11

Well I had a massive shock today. Got back from work to find a letter saying my risk is 1:4856 which is fab. Had to read the letter four times to believe it.

lilygirl81 · 20/02/2016 21:50

squiggle that's brilliant news, you must be relieved

quitecrunchy · 21/02/2016 09:11

Woohoo, fab news squiggle!

TwistInMySobriety · 21/02/2016 10:56

Bump shot at seventeen weeks :-)

August 2016 (3) - scans fast approaching, teeny tiny bumps appearing, and sickness easing....we hope!
Sophia1984 · 21/02/2016 11:49

Gorgeous bump Twist! I bought some H&M maternity trousers yesterday so am looking forward to being super comfortable tomorrow :-)

Brilliant news squiggle and lily

I'm getting the headaches too KStar :-( Had to take paracetamol a couple of times - which is fine - it's just ibuprofen you need to avoid.

My latest anxiety is about not having taken folic acid till I was 5 weeks. I honestly didn't know you were meant to take it pre-conception, and now feeling really stupid and am obsessed with the idea little bean might have spina bifida :-( I'm so worried about the 20 week scan. So much guilt associated with being a mum already!

I think I need to get my perinatal psychiatrist appointment moved forward as am struggling a fair bit with anxiety and worry at the minute. DP is being amazing but it's hard for him to see me distressed and being completely irrational.

Also stressed out as am planning to ask for a payrise tomorrow.. found out my colleague who does pretty much the same job as me gets £2k more a year!

silverstar77 · 21/02/2016 12:11

I'm getting bad headaches too and took one paracetamol yesterday and may take another one soon, it seems common around 15 weeks. Still nauseous every evening too and eagerly awaiting a bump!

Kstar8 · 21/02/2016 19:20

Thanks for the headache reassurance everyone! You guys are much more comforting than google!

Great news for lily and squiggle!
*
Sophia* I wouldn't worry about the folic acid, lots of people don't take it until they know they are pregnant.

I still feel rough some evenings too silver (I'm 14+3). I cooked dinner last night for the first time in two months! I still don't like the smell of the kitchen even though husband insists there isn't a smell in there.

Kstar8 · 21/02/2016 19:22

Well the bold formatting typed on the iPhone app sure messes up easily Confused

OwlinaTree · 21/02/2016 20:25

I feel your pain headache people. I seem to be coming down with some sort of cold and cough, been a rubbish weekend as dh is the same. Ds seems OK though. Paracetamol definitely helping. Just about to tuck into a massive pizza, hoping that will help too!

bearhuggy · 22/02/2016 11:03

Morning ladies and bumps,
Welcome kstar :)
Hope you all had lovely weekends. Sorry to hear of headaches, coughs and colds! I too have been suffering with the headaches and really disjointed sleep which is driving me mad. Kind of half asleep, weird dreams and obviously needing the loo a million times Confused Going to walk home from work tonight (5 miles!) to see if that helps knock me out.

lily great to hear your harmony went well and you found out the sex. weirdly in my head I always had you down as having a girl! Are you back at work today?

jw amazing news about your sister and hope you are feeling better?

cola and squiggle great results, you must be relieved.

stranded how was your night out? did you manage to hide it ok!?

pickle glad your big event went well and exciting you are feeling so much movement, I am looking forward to feeling some wriggles!

sophia don't worry about folic acid, 5 weeks is nothing and lots of people dont start taking it until later when they find out. You will have been getting it through your diet during that time anyway. I think good idea to move your appointment if you are feeling stressed. Let us know how your talk with work goes today, good luck!

lilygirl81 · 22/02/2016 11:08

Bear thanks, for some reason I'd always been referring to the baby as he, so having to get out of that habit!! Not back at work, got another 2 weeks off as I felt so terrible on Friday.

PickleBot · 22/02/2016 12:16

Sophia My first wasn't exactly planned and I didn't know I was pregnant until I was over 20 weeks (long story Hmm) so didn't take any folic acid until then. He was fine. I think as you are eating a reasonably healthy diet in the run up to getting pregnant you'll be fine. Lots of really common foods are really high in it so please try not to worry.

Movements here reached a new level last night. I was listening to some music on my laptop, with it on my lap (while I still can!) and the baby was giving me a right booting! DS (4) said he thinks the baby was dancing. I guess it's hearing is okay then!

hgleslie89 · 22/02/2016 16:17

Anyone got tips or tricks for trapped wind? I'm suffering pretty badly today Sad

bearhuggy · 22/02/2016 16:54

poor you leslie , you could try peppermint tea, hot water bottle and a walk around? Might help ease the discomfort. I have one of these long hot water bottles from Yuyu and honestly so nice when you have any discomfort as you can wrap it around yourself and lie with it between legs too!! - www.amara.com/products/classic-knit-cashmere-blend-hot-water-bottle-grey?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&amss=2wb&pdg=94128238350__92100312990_c_1o5&gclid=CJ65z6jqi8sCFQk8GwodmWgOmQ

I can't remember who posted a while back about a whacky hair colour and head shave for charity?!...whoever it was, please could you repost your justgiving as would love to donate?

lilygirl81 · 22/02/2016 18:43

hgl I've found that if I lie down then hug my knees to my chest repeatedly it can help to release things, but make sure you are alone in the room!
