I don't think il be that lucky with my hospital! They decided for me when I wasn't even far enough along. They then gave me a new appointment without asking me when was convenient. I turned up on the time given and was told they were expecting me an hour ago. Luckily they fit me in after an hour of waiting with a full bladder

Mslg · 11/02/2016 15:56

Ahhh 😑 Waiting with a full bladder is torturous. The sonographer randomly showed me my full bladder in the US, I was like I don't care stop pressing on it 😂

Christinedonna · 11/02/2016 15:59

She was doing the scan and towards the end when she pressed right on my bladder was like "oop il let you go and empty that bladder in a minute" very wise decision!

squigglepants · 11/02/2016 18:54

Date brought forward to August 19th so 12 + 6 today.
Little bugger was being awkward and took nearly an hour to get the NT measurements. Not complaining mind you, got to watch my baby for an hour 😍
Pretty massive bump already. Feeling very fat, can't do my coat up anymore 😣

Thanks guys, hg and biscuits that's really good to know. Sounds positive that you've not heard back by now then biscuits!

bear I think we'd have probably done the same if we'd been further on, must've been good not to have to hide it from close family over Xmas. I think we'll start telling the wider family and friends this weekend but will be warning them not to say anything on Facebook or else it'll be all over work before I'm ready to announce there.

quitecrunchy · 11/02/2016 21:47

Congrats squiggle, you've got an rebellious one on your hands there then! Nice to have all that face time though Smile

silverstar77 · 11/02/2016 22:01

Is anyone else still feeling really ill? Am 13+5 today and feel no better yet . Sorry for the moan...

Christinedonna · 11/02/2016 22:32

Yes silver I'm still throwing up everyday and am exhausted!
14weeks today

FourForYouGlenCoco · 11/02/2016 23:33

Congrats on the good scans tattie, cola and squiggle!! Fab bump squiggle, I think I'm just teetering over the edge of 'very big lunch' into 'properly pregnant', hurray!
On the topic of big lunches, anyone else find they're filling up really easily at the moment? Normally I can put loads away but at the min I eat a normal amount and I feel stretched to bursting, don't know what's going on!
Also is anyone else itchy?? The skin on my tummy is sooooo dry, sore and itchy, I'm ending up with big red lines all over me where I just can't stop scratching! I think I must be stretching out at a terrifying rate at the moment Confused trying to remember to slather on the moisturiser but not very good at it.
silver I'm 16 weeks and still feel a bit grim in the evenings if I eat the wrong thing or eat too late!
Feeling so many little movements and flutters now! I finally feel like I'm bonding with this baby, for ages I couldn't really let myself enjoy it or get excited but now I'm feeling it wriggle I'm so reassured and really happy to be pregnant instead of just worried and stressed! Love this middle stage Smile

Aw that's so lovely to hear glenco! Glad you are more relaxed and bonding, the fish flipping sensation is starting over here too and just can't wait for DD to feel it (not for a while)
Bump seems to have really popped overnight. Need to get used to the "you are really massive/tiny" opinions all over again. Anyone else a bit sensitive like me?! you just don't have people normally commenting on your appearance when not pregnant then when you are everyone is putting in their pennies worth! Ha
Happy Friday ladies x

MamaB80 · 12/02/2016 08:41

I'm dreading comments about size dileas. Am 14 weeks and have a wee bump, which to be honest just looks like I've put on weight but that didn't stop a colleague trying to touch it this week. I had to step away to avoid it and I'm sure she thought me rude but I'm setting the boundaries right now!

hgleslie89 · 12/02/2016 10:35

Mama my biggest fear right now is someone trying to touch my bump. I don't mind if I've offered, but I think it's really weird that some people think it's ok to just touch you when you're pregnant! Thankfully my friends and colleagues know I'm not a buggy person so will probably steer clear.

Christinedonna · 12/02/2016 11:07

coco YES to the feeling full easily. It makes me feel like a pig as I'm like "I must have eaten a lot today" then I think about it and I haven't. It's horrible at night when I'm trying to get comfy and feel like I'm a balloon

strandedabroad · 12/02/2016 17:55

How did it go with your parents Sophia? I'm 34 and felt exactly the same. My family was so happy and no one was expecting it. Apparently last time I went back in October my sister thought that my preconception tablet blister was my pill (they looked very similar to be fair!) and had told my mum to hold her horses as I was still on the pill! Ha! Grin

Also thank you to the poster who linked to the August stats ages ago - not a big MN user so I didn't realise this existed.

We're currently referring to the baby as Bruno. It cracks me up. Don't get me wrong, it's a perfectly acceptable Italian name, but I find it very funny. Bruno Tonioli springs to mind! Smile

MrsZumbaDancer · 12/02/2016 18:07

Had my blood results back, 1 in 50,000 so finally told 2 of my best friends Smile

strandedabroad · 12/02/2016 18:32

Congrats Mrs, it's such a great feeling isn't it!

MrsZumbaDancer · 12/02/2016 19:24

Feel like I'm tempting fate still but nice now that a few people know Smile

LotsofDots · 12/02/2016 19:44

Hello, I have been lurking for a while but thought I'd join in now - quitecrunchy I'm in Scotland as well and my blood results arrived in the post after 6 days. The midwife had said results would take about 3 weeks but only one week if high risk so was very relieved that DH opened the letter before I got home as it was low risk and I'd have been so anxious!

I'm 15+2 (scan moved my due date forward 6 days) and this is DC3 have just told our elder ones this evening and they are so excited!

hgleslie89 · 13/02/2016 09:15

Looks like I'll be spending most of the weekend in bed with a stomach bug Sad The Internet reckons the wee one should be ok, but I'm still worrying.

lilygirl81 · 13/02/2016 11:38

hg poor you, hope you feel better. Just keep an eye on your temperature, if it goes above 38 give 111 a call. Also keep your fluids up and rest lots.

lilygirl81 · 13/02/2016 13:23

Is anyone else struggling to sleep just now? For about the last week I've not been able to sleep before 3 or 4am, and starting to get me down. On the plus side, my nausea definitely seems less which is great!

16+1

Mrs1986 · 13/02/2016 15:55

Lily I've actually not been sleeping since about 7 weeks pregnant, it's been hell! There are some small things that I've found can help:

  • Hot vimto - or probs any hot drink
  • I downloaded some 'sleeping aid' music which is really relaxing
  • lavender oil, I put a drop on my dressing gown
  • have a warm bath just before getting in bed

It's starting to get a bit better for me this past 1-2 weeks, but the doctors said it can be quite common in pregnancy due to hormones, and I guess with me having twins it might mean double the hormones!! It got me so down that I was starting to worry about my mental health! Hopefully it will carry on getting better for me and won't lay too long for you!

I bought some nappies today after reading this thread earlier, the problem is, I don't have anywhere to put them yet!!

Feeling uncomfortable, have put on quite a bit of weight this past couple of weeks so hopefully the twins are benefiting and growing big and strong!

quitecrunchy · 13/02/2016 16:20

Hi Dots glad to have you joining us! Sounds like they can be pretty quick off the mark then with the blood test results whatever the result. Glad you said that now - if my letter comes in a few days I'll not freak out! Smile

Hope you feel better soon hg! Flowers And lily and mrs that you get a good sleep tonight. Insomnia really is grim.

silverstar77 · 13/02/2016 17:09

Yeah I'm awake after my second loo trip for a while at around 4/5am but doesn't sound as bad as you have it lily and mrs hope you find something that works for you soon

I felt well enough for a trip into town today and got some h&m maternity clothes. Can't wait to wear them, the jeans are ultra comfy and the tops and jeans really flattering too 😀 feel a bit of a fraud at the moment if I wear them though as no bump yet just feel a bit fatter! Will hopefully get to wear them soon!

MrsZumbaDancer · 13/02/2016 19:39

lily yeah I'm struggling to get to sleep after going to loo about 4 ish.. Ds then up about 6.30, so just feeling permanently knackered. Had 30 minute nap today but felt worse for it.

DH currently cooking dinner but think I'll be asleep before it's ready!
