Hi all, have been lurking for a while but the pram chat has spurned me to post (a minor expensive hobby on my part...). I'm expecting baby 3 on 4/8, from first scan likely to be my third boy they said they were 70% confident and I feel just the same as with the others...

For those of you with small cars check out the 2016 version of the Babyzen yoyo; they have upgraded this year to allow car seat to attach and has newborn lie flat fabric pack.

For those with small ish age gaps I found the bugaboo bee great as it was so easy to convert between newborn and toddler and with a sling it meant I had both children covered for a trip out. Couldn't do this with any pram which had a carrycot so would have been a pain.

Bugaboo cameleon is still great though for little baby; am going to upgrade the hood on mine for thenew addition as the cameleon 3 is much better from sun protection and hopefully with an August baby we might need some sunshade?!

Uppababy vista and the babyjogger both look good options.

Had a second hand Phil and teds too for lugging both kids about but was very heavy with both of them in...

Love pram shopping... My partner despairs!!

Colabottle10 · 11/02/2016 07:41

Got my scan at 9.20 this morning. Wish me luck!

Fizzyboo · 11/02/2016 08:19

Good luck colabottle!

HazzaB89 · 11/02/2016 08:36

Good luck, Colabottle! Let us know how you get on.
I have my scan tomorrow at 2pm and am so so nervous. This pregnancy so far has been so easy (too easy?) With my 16 mo DD I had all of the symptoms in the book. This time, I have had a little nausea, am more tired and am more hungry. That's it. I'm convinced tomorrow will show a MMC. Absolutely convinced. Sad

prettyflowers111 · 11/02/2016 08:49

hazza I'm exactly the same. Was sick as a dog with all the syptoms with dd but this time I'm just tired and starving. I'm glad it's not just me. I was so convinced that it was a mmc but I bought a doppler and baby is Def there. You'll be absolutely fine I'm sure. I keep telling myself to stop comparing to my last pregnancy as they are all different. Exhaustion and increased appetite are symptoms in themselves. Let us know tomorrow.

Good luck colabottle do let us know.

Fizzyboo · 11/02/2016 08:54

Hazza I really was too, DH said my jaw hit the floor when I actually saw there was a baby there! I'm sure you'll be fine! Smile

HazzaB89 · 11/02/2016 09:04

Thanks fizzy & pretty. I also had a fever for 24 hours or so that was difficult to keep under 40° around 2 weeks ago which also makes me worry. I'm a little annoyed at DH as well as the scan was supposed to be today but had to reschedule as he couldn't get any time off work which I know he can't help but this extra 24 hours is a killer! I'll have to see if I can dig out the doppler although couldn't find DD until 14 weeks I think. Gah! I'm such a worrier but am normally good at hiding it.

MrsZumbaDancer · 11/02/2016 09:16

hazza I felt the same, had symptoms then just disappeared, also had a little pink discharge.. But baby was in there.. I even said to the sonographer I was in shock!

Good luck for all the scans today/tomorrow Smile

bearhuggy · 11/02/2016 10:14

good luck cola - think you will be in there now, let us know how it goes!

Dont worry hazza everything will be fine and each pregnancy is different so try not to compare. I was so worried before mine and did the same as pretty and bought a doppler which really put my mind at ease.

Welcome whattodo and thanks for your pro pram advice! everywhere I look at the moment I see the bloody buggaboo bee!!! they are so popular here in London. My worry is that it wouldn't be great in the countryside walking on uneven terrain or through mud...but do you think for walks you would likely sling carry over lugging a pram around?!

CheeseandGherkins · 11/02/2016 10:42

Good luck with scans and lovely to hear (and see) the scans coming back so well.

Re breast pumps, make sure you go for a closed system one rather than a closed system, more hygienic. I used a pump with mine and always got loads, not that they would take a bottle...With my dd3 who was born at 34 weeks, I had to express through the night and day whilst she was in the nicu, to take milk in for her and also to get my supply up.

Dh not being able to feed them didn't make any difference to their bonding, there are plenty of other ways they can, and do, bond. The feeding is just something I did as I'm the one with the breasts. He was more than happy to just get on with anything else and cuddle, bath, change etc. The feeding part wasn't an issues whatsoever.

A week to go until my scan and consultant appointment, they're on the same day. I have been testing my blood suagrs and they are definitely creeping up with ones above the limit more and more. Looks like I'll be back on the insulin soon :(

TattieHowkerz · 11/02/2016 11:06

Just back from my 12 week scan, and all was well Smile
The baby was moving a lot but resisted getting into a good position for the NT. They are having me back in a couple of weeks to do accurate dating measurements.

TwistInMySobriety · 11/02/2016 11:43

My Harmony results just came back clear, which is a blessed relief. 1/150 was a bit too high for comfort, the last couple of weeks have been a bit stressful, so it's a real weight off my mind.

Colabottle10 · 11/02/2016 11:47

All grand with scan and I am 13+2 so a week further on, I'm so glad! EDD of 16th August now.

hgleslie89 · 11/02/2016 12:55

Had my 16 week appointment today - was a bit anticlimactic. Took all of 10 minutes, she took my blood pressure and asked some questions and that was me done. Was kinda hoping to hear the heartbeat so I've caved and bought a Doppler as I don't think I can last another 5 weeks without seeing or hearing it!

quitecrunchy · 11/02/2016 13:08

Hi all
Congratulations on the good scan tattie, so exciting to see baby isn't it? I had my 12 week scan this morning too. They brought it forward after our private scan last weekend put the dates further along than expected so that we could still get the combined test. NT measurement was normal which is a relief but they said it could take up to 4 weeks to get the blood test results and risk factors back. I had no idea it could take that long but apparently there is only one lab in the whole of Scotland that does the analysis. Any other Scottish mamas had theirs back? How long did it take?

We told our parents already but haven't told the rest of the family or work yet. Part of me feels like we should wait until we have that knowledge before telling everyone, though I don't think that would work as our parents are bursting to share the news and in another 4 weeks time I might be showing anyway! It's not so much the possibility of learning that there's a high risk for Down's after we've told everyone that's worrying me, it's more the Edwards and Patau risk, even though they're much rarer. Am I overthinking this? When did those of you who waited until after the 12 week scan start telling people?

quitecrunchy · 11/02/2016 13:10

and congrats cola too! Missing stuff by not refreshing!

hgleslie89 · 11/02/2016 13:14

quite we got ours back in about 2 weeks. I think the lab's in Glasgow and we're in Falkirk, so maybe proximity helps?!

Jw35 · 11/02/2016 13:49

Congrats on all the scans! Personally I wouldn't stock up too much on nappies, they tend to grow quite fast and may need the next size earlier than you think! I haven't bought anything yet, although I've got all the equipment (as Eve is only 13 months) just need to buy nappies and new bottles. I'm going to try a bf but I usually stop around 3 weeks.

Jw35 · 11/02/2016 13:50

Oh and I'm 16 weeks on Saturday! It's flying by!

Biscuitswithtea · 11/02/2016 14:13

Quite we are Scotland too. Told up to two weeks but if high risk result then you get a phone call within a few days. Test was done on Tues last week and still waiting to hear. Initially we were careful about who we told but by this point (and at nearly 15wks!) we're getting more relaxed about telling folk.

Do what feels comfortable for you :)

bearhuggy · 11/02/2016 14:28

Congrats on the scans!! So nice to see the pics.

crunchy we told family and close friends at 9 weeks after a private scan as it was christmas and would have been near impossible to hide it! We felt that if anything were to go wrong, we would want those people to know either way and they would all be there for us as support, so it didn't matter that it was a bit early. As biscuits says, do what feels right for you at the time and try not to worry or overthink things, great that NT measurement was in the normal range!

Just booked into my hypnobirthing classes, anyone else doing similar??

15 + 6 ...where is time going Shock

MrsSantaClause · 11/02/2016 15:23

Jut had my 15week midwife appt, with a different midwife-the regular one is on long term sick leave so probably won't be seeing the same one twice Confused

Don't think she even asked me if I was having any problems, just wrote all the results from my blood tests in my notes and told me that I don't need to see them again until 28 weeks!!! That seems like such a long way away!!

Congrats on the lovely scans everyone! Smile

Christinedonna · 11/02/2016 15:36

Do they mention booking your 20 week scan at your 15 week mw appointment?

Christinedonna · 11/02/2016 15:37

Il be 17 weeks on my next mw appointment

Mslg · 11/02/2016 15:38

The hospital booked my 20 week scan while I was there after I had my 12 week scan. It was really good as we could pick a suitable time rather than just getting one sent in the post
