Ive calmed down a bit now and will ring the MW in the morning to sort it all out for me.
The sonographer said everything looked 'perfect' though and said the quad test is still good, just a tiny bit less than the combined, but not to worry.
I asked her about the visual identifiers such as the nasal bone, she said she could clearly see a nasal bone. (Prob got my nose then not my DH's button nose Wink)
Baby was in an annoying position and I had to lie on my side for a bit and cough to make them wriggle into a new shape!
Here's my pic, obviously now dated as 14+3

Lovely bumps and pictures everyone, im a bit jel of the bump action! So today, I have mostly been filled with rage. Inanimate objects are out to get me, the man at the dump was cursed to high hell for daring to ask for proof of address, and if I could have stabbed the young lad at Sainsbos for the lack of muffin tins I would have. I have been assured that this is hormones at work and I've not suddenly became a card carrying psychopath, just thought I'd ask, anyone else? Slight (colossal) PMT type rage at work? Or is it just me??

Mslg · 09/02/2016 20:35

Lovely scans 😃 Fizzy I'm 14+3 today as well so we're due date buddies!

Fizzyboo · 09/02/2016 20:43

Woohoo Mslg!! High fives!!

I'm actually so pleased to be having an August babe generally, my birthday is in December and it sucks!!

strandedabroad · 09/02/2016 21:00

Suzie not just you. I could have murdered DH this past weekend, he annoyed me no end. And the dog smells, and my clothes are uncomfortable. Don't get me started about work!

Suziesome1 · 09/02/2016 21:20

Oh good stranded! (Not for you tho!) I'm normally quite chilled.... I'm just seeing red!!!! Angry At one with my inner maternal goddess I am not!

Biscuitswithtea · 09/02/2016 21:26

So is that 3 of us with the same due date? I couldn't remember what the sonographer said but thankfully DH was paying attention so I am also 14+3 today!
Planning to tell my boss tomorrow. She won't be surprised she has been dropping hints for the past year and is an ex midwife.

If anyone else is petite, my discovery of the week is that Red Herring do shorter length trousers. They're not beautiful (predominantly polyester) but nor are they stretchy and will do for work.

hgleslie89 · 09/02/2016 21:35

Doing a general browse for baby stuff and discovered you can get Hugo Boss baby bottles and dummies. I'm sure this will appeal to some people (apologies if I cause offence to anyone here!) but I can think of much better things to spend £30-£40 on!

Fizzyboo · 09/02/2016 21:37

Yaaaaay!!!! Biscuits!!! I feel like part of a gang now!!! Like a full bellied Charlie's Angels haha!!

Christinedonna · 09/02/2016 21:58

I got bottles, a breast pump, nappies and wipes earlier. Found the Moses basket I wanted and its out of stock, and worst of all the cot we fell in love with was on sale when we first saw it (£100). It's now £250. Will be watching that like a hawk

FourForYouGlenCoco · 10/02/2016 09:26

Lovely scans ladies Smile belager I think girl for you, and fizzy boy for you!
Christine it sounds boring but honestly if you really wanna scratch that buying itch, I'd just stock up on nappies and baby wipes. Before DD arrived we bought about 5 or 6 boxes, the ones with 8 packets of wipes in, and I remember thinking they'd last us for months. HA! A few weeks later I was back off down asda for more. That's the only thing I'll be stockpiling before this baby arrives. There's nothing worse than running out of wipes at a crucial moment! Ditto nappies. Little vests and sleepsuits are nice to buy too and you will need quite a few - maybe buy all the way up to 9-12 months and your future self will thank you for it!

For those of you who've already breast fed - will I need a breast pump? My DH seems quite sad at the thought that he won't be able to feed the wee one and I was wondering whether expressing a bit would help him to bond with the little one?

Fizzyboo · 10/02/2016 09:43

Ooh you're the first to say boy glencoco! Not long till we get to know for sure! I got names in mind already for both so we'll see!

TwistInMySobriety · 10/02/2016 09:44

I had a breast pump last time round (electric) but not sure I'll bother this time as it was a massive faff for not much result, I couldn't pump enough to make it really worthwhile. You might have more luck though.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 10/02/2016 10:04

hgl I had a pump, had ridiculous amounts of milk in the early days (first few months), pumped and stored heaps, ended up chucking most of it out as it never got used! I was always too lazy to do all the bottles rigmarole when the boobs were right there. This time round I won't be bothering and baby will just have to have formula if I need to be away from it for whatever reason. Your DH will have plenty of opportunity to bond with littlun - truthfully I always think it's a bit of a cop-out to just do the feeding, since that's the nice bit, and then they feel like they've done their share and you get landed with all the rest of it. There is sooooo much else he can do that will be just as good for bonding and much more helpful for you!

coco I got 240 nappies yesterday and I think 12x60 wipes

ToElleWithIt · 10/02/2016 11:27

I pumped loads for DS and he refused it all - every sodding bottle. Ended up donating about 100 oz of frozen milk to the milk bank. I'll try again with this one, but I won't be stressing over it either. It would be handy if DH could do the odd feed and I could go to bed early, but I'm not going to waste time if it isn't working. It didn't stop DH bonding he often popped DS in the sling to get him to nap which was a lovely way for them to bond, or bathed him.

TattieHowkerz · 10/02/2016 11:43

I wouldn't rush to get a breast pump.

I needed to express for the first few days as DD had birth injuries which meant I couldn't BF straightaway. Once she got into BF she had no interest in bottles. I ended up just having to chuck pumped milk.

There's lots dads can do apart from feeding. Having said this I do plan to try DC2 with the odd expressed bottle, but I'd wait til BF is established.

Dileas29 · 10/02/2016 14:22

I'll definitely be getting a double pump this time as last time had gallons of milk so would really save time, also going to donate to milk bank if my supply is the same as last time.

bearhuggy · 10/02/2016 14:45

gosh haven't even thought about stocking up on things like wipes and creams yet...sounds like a very sensible good idea. Did someone mention there was a good discount / sale on somewhere for these things?

So my 'bump' has decided to make an appearance finally, but weirdly its more to my right side! Anyone else experiencing this? Have googled and think its common at this stage whilst baby has room, then it fills out a bit but it does look rather strange!

Feeling very tired today following a bad nights sleep, up and down to the loo a gazillion times and weird dreams. Longing for 6pm to roll around....

lilygirl81 · 10/02/2016 16:36

I've not stocked up on anything yet either, no space to store it right now until I get more organised.

I had my 16 week midwife appointment this morning and got the chat about how I should be talking to the baby and reading it stories already! Everything else, all tests etc, are all normal though she has me as having lost 12kg since my first appointment! I had the Down syndrome blood test and should hear back in about a week she said.

15+5

OwlinaTree · 10/02/2016 18:50

Re breast pumps, I'd advise buying one just before the birth but don't take it out of the packet till you need it. You will know fairly soon if you are going to use it, then you can return it if not used. You will need a steriliser too if you are going to pump. I got an avent microwave one, that was dead easy, 2 mins in microwave and done.

I had a medula swing (I think, a yellow one). I ended up with loads in the freezer! I did donate to the milk bank but the one by me (Birmingham) had specific criteria and you had to pump into their bottles so be aware of that. You had to have blood tests too. I don't know if I'll do it this time, I'm not sure I'll have time to sit and pump with a toddler about and my son was a bottle refused. Might just stuck with bf!

Fizzyboo · 10/02/2016 20:47

Lily did you have the quadruple Down's test instead of the combined test at 12 weeks?
I'm having the quad test at my 16week MW appt (even though I'll be 17 weeks by then!)
I hate that my MW is so booked up its so hard to see her on time. The sonographer said I've been let down by my team from them doing this, that's why I missed out on the combined test... Although it's more my doctors receptionist that keeps causing this!!

lilygirl81 · 10/02/2016 21:27

Fizzy I didn't get a 12 week appointment at all, just bloods done at my booking in appointment at 8 weeks. They couldn't get the NT measurement at my scan anyway, so said to just get the blood tests. Midwife didn't say if it was the quadruple, the form she filled in just said 2nd trimester Down's syndrome test.

Fizzyboo · 10/02/2016 21:55

Yes sounds like it is, same as what I'm having. Can only be done after 15 weeks. I was too late for the other and they couldn't read the nuchal fold either as baba was too big!
