OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

Huge congratulations to birdbrain & newlywed

rufus I think some people just don't learn. Not much longer now and hopefully this will get a lot better.

We went for follow up monitoring today - baby back to normal and CTG looked like I'd got a twitch with the "movement felt" button. Which was great but still have to go back tomorrow for a scan. Grrr.

Did go and eat a ridiculous quantity of curry though followed by listening to my cousins big band. They are pretty crap to be honest (especially in January cos they generally don't practice over Christmas) but enjoy bubs reaction to the noise.

In a ridiculously good mood which undoubtedly means I won't sleep tonight . Night all Smile

RattyCatty · 01/02/2016 02:04

Not sure whether I'm in early labour or not... Since 10pm waves of lower back tummy cramps every 6 mins now 4 mins apart. Can't sleep through them but they are not really painful? Don't want to wake DH & go to hosp as think they'll just send me home? Took 2 paracetamol at 1am but not helping at all? If this is pre labour not sure I'll cope with full on labour tbh!

haquoi123 · 01/02/2016 07:09

ratty how're you getting on? Did they get more intense or go away? Try and breathe through them, you can definitely do it :)

mad that's great news about bubs!

I woke up with some cramps and was like 'yay, this is it!' Then they stopped... :(

goneswimming · 01/02/2016 07:39

Worst nights 'sleep' ever....why am I still working?!

haquoi123 · 01/02/2016 07:47

When do you finish work gone?

RattyCatty · 01/02/2016 08:07

Freaked out that couldn't feel her moving so we called at 5am & came in. Monitored and she's ok thankfully. But despite contractions since 10pm I'm only 1cm! 😳 She told me to try to go home and sleep, lord knows how!

XingXingFox · 01/02/2016 08:09

Congratulations newly and birdbrain how exciting!! ratty I'd definitely just go into the hospital!

Happy Feb everyone!

gone I'm amazed you're still working, well done, I'm rubbish. Even a walk round the park with DD left me exhausted yesterday! Hope the sleep improves soon.

XingXingFox · 01/02/2016 08:10

X post! ratty at least you know it's starting! Whoop! She'll be here soon...keep us updated!

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 08:16

Good luck ratty!

IslaMann · 01/02/2016 08:59

Good luck Ratty. Won't be long til little one is in your arms.

Phoenix80 · 01/02/2016 09:21

Good luck Ratty x

MaryEllen1 · 01/02/2016 09:27

Eeek ratty hopefully you'll have bubba in your arms soon, good luck!

gone I know how you feel I have two weeks left of work and wondering why I didn't finish earlier and enjoy having time to myself to wallow in pjs and do very little!

Sighing · 01/02/2016 10:50

I'm a bit fed up of visitors at the moment. Anyone else getting this. I want to eother chill out/ get girls relaxed and plaing games etc for some quality family time pre baby. Or, when everyone's out keep the place nice and slob out. But I appear to be stalling a sudden flurry of visitors (unusual for us, noone really lives near). It's all the nonbaby ones (fine by me, asking them to visit a small infant will be met with dodging). Bloody annoying they're all.piling in now though! Christmas / New Year would have been easier! Oh well. To the shops again to get something exciting for dinner and more biscuuts (that I can't evrn eat!).

MidnightRun · 01/02/2016 12:09

I can't believe it's February already! Sighing start asking your visitors to atleast bring cake if they are going to visit.. You might as well get something out of it!

I lay awake last night with period cramps, and for the past couple of days Iv had a lot of (tmi) very loose bowel movements which is unusual given the amount of iron I'm taking. This morning Iv broken out in even more acne all over and Iv still got the period cramps. I'm sure it's nothing, but I am so ready for this baby!

Troika · 01/02/2016 12:51

Gone I'm the same. Awful sleep yet still working. Saw the mw today and she was a bit Hmm that I was still at work. Was in a right grump most of the weekend though and fine today at work so it's probably better for me to be at work!

Had the same as someone else (can't remember who sorry) where I saw a completely new mw today. It was fine but a bit of a pita going through everything again. But that was it, my last mw appointment! Booked in for a sweep at 41 weeks just in case (hoping I don't need it).

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 13:27

That was me troika, with the new MW. It is a pain isn't it? Especially just at the end.

Mine was nearly a week ago now. I have another appointment for tomorrow, I'll be 40+6 and I was really, really hoping not to have to go back there!

I realise now how spoiled I was before with my two 39 week-ers.

Although I've just cleaned the tv, sky box and DVD player which is a good sign! I have form for doing random cleaning a day or two before labour.

I have also done the windows, mirrors and pictures but they all badly needed to be done anyway Blush

sighing that's annoying. Hope you get a bit of peace soon!

Rufus200 · 01/02/2016 14:12

ratty good luck

midnight I've had all those symptoms as well. No pain since Sat though, which I am very grateful for.

Tomorrow is my big day, off to have all blood test and swabs done now. I am going to be pissy about the swabs. I'm fully aware they are not for baby's benefit or mine and are just for the hospital to try and put blame on me if I have a wound breakdown! My Dr even admitted that is what they are for! I'm such a wuss I'm nervous about just having bloods done. God only knows how I'm going to cope tomorrow. Absolutely petrified of the epidural, I will be crying.

MaisieDotes · 01/02/2016 14:27

rufus you will be fine. The epidural is absolutely fine. Now, I will qualify that by saying that the two I've had were done while I was in significant pain so I was only too happy to submit to the needle.

But still. You'll be ok. Just think of the end goal at all times- your beautiful baby!

So exciting for you! Good luck Smile

Mawsymoo · 01/02/2016 14:47

Welcome to all the new babies and congratulations to the new mums. Ratty best of luck for today.

Rufus you'll be fine. I've had 2 planned c-sections with spinal blocks and it's grand - they will give you a local anaesthetic first so you can't feel it. You can feel the needle for the local but that's nothing! If you are a wuss for pain though have a pain management plan in place with the hospital for afterwards as the recovery is tough going for the first couple of weeks.

Phoenix80 · 01/02/2016 15:31

Rufus you will be fine 😊. My section was changed from tomorrow to Thursday so slightly jealous 😉. I had my bloods done on Friday and swabs were done at 36 week mw appointment. I'm not going into hospital on Thurs til 11.30am so mine will be an afternoon section (hopefully early afternoon) The epidural doesn't bother me really my main worry (ok totally terrifies me) is that it's my 3rd section so bleeding lots or damaging my insides is a possibility 😔

Good luck for tomorrow and I look forward to the announcement 😊

clarabellski · 01/02/2016 16:03

Hurrah congratulations newly and birdbrain!

Has Jelly had her baby yet or did I miss it?

Ratty things sound imminent for you, good luck!

rufus and pheonix hope everything goes smoothly with your sections Flowers

39 weeks today, not a twinge so far.

OP posts:
Phoenix80 · 01/02/2016 17:20

Jelly hasn't been back on with any news yet.

My mum has just rung me to say my cousins girlfriend has had their baby today. She is only 35 weeks but had pre eclampsia so was induced. No other details yet though. Can't believe they bet me, I'm 39 weeks!!

Gingergen2013 · 01/02/2016 17:28

Looking forward to hearing about more new arrivals in the coming days - hope all goes well!!
38+3 and overjoyed to have slept the whole night through last night (having managed to avoid napping all weekend, but it's not something I expect to last!) Btw, is it actually possible for baby to turn round (back to back) at this stage? Baby has always been head down with her bottom firmly under my ribs, until this morning when I found myself shrieking as I thought she was going to try and re-enact 'that' John Hurt moment in Alien!!! Glad I was too busy being hysterical to watch what my stomach was actually doing - just feeling it totally freaked me out!!! All been fine since but blimey....!!

Troika · 01/02/2016 19:48

Exciting Rufus! You'll be fine :-) Slightly envious of all the planned c sectioners knowing when it's going to happen. I've been confidently saying that I doubt I'll go over as other two were on time but as maisie has proved I can't rely on that!

Oh my days the heartburn is horrendous at the moment.

Rufus200 · 01/02/2016 20:48

Found my swabs quite ridiculous. Had to swab my nose, armpit and groin. I have a lovely infected stubble rash right where my incision will be tomorrow! I thought I would be operated on Friday after the contractions so stupidly shaved as I had been told to before surgery. Really hope it doesn't infect my wound.

Repacked my hospital bag again, just to make sure everything was there. DH finally showed some interest in baby clothes but then complained I don't have anything blue for him to wear at the hospital. Well he should have bought him something himself!
