Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

Great news kimbles!

What are people doing about flu jabs? Is it too late to get one now? My DM has flu at the moment and it sounds horrendous, she's been wiped out for weeks already and I don't like the sound of that whilst pregnant. However it's January already, surely flu season is almost over?

nailsathome · 20/01/2016 19:55

Jay I'm just recovering from flu, it was horrendous!

OTheHugeManatee · 20/01/2016 19:57

Fab news Kimbles! Where are you in Cambs? I'm on the Beds/Cambs border.

Butterflies100 · 20/01/2016 20:03

Kimbles - that's wonderful xx

Jay- I got a flu jab as soon as I knew I was pregnant. Had the flu last year and it was horrific. Didn't want to take the risk this year.

JayBeanie · 20/01/2016 20:06

Sounds like I better book in for a flu jab then. I haven't seen the doctor yet so will see if they can do a flu jab at the same time

Sausage2229 · 20/01/2016 20:25

Evening all, been feeling really sick the last few days. Been finding everything really hard. 7 weeks tomorrow although they think I'm more like 6. Another scan next Thursday after one last week. Bit worried as last week they couldn't find a anything other than a sac! Is that normal for 6 weeks? Other people seem to be seeing baby and hearing a heartbeat! Starting to panic... X

FrazzleRock · 20/01/2016 20:32

CatFace I'm sure you haven't done any damage. I think babies are pretty resilient to things like that. If it makes you feel any better, I've just put the bins out. Not the usual weekly watse either, as I had a massive sort out of my bedroom at the weekend so I was carrying bin bags which weighed an absolute tonne. I'm relaxing in bed now!

Plus DP and I had a stress today when we realised how much it costs to sell a house. We're trying to sell our flats (we don't live together yet) and buy something that'll fit 5 of us comfortably. But realised that we'd hardly have any profit left once we pay for estate agent fees, solicitors and stamp duty for new place. Annoying as we're moving to the sticks and won't be able to afford to buy big enough car. We'll be trapped! I was also hoping to pay off my loan. #grief

Lilliana · 20/01/2016 21:01

Oops My yoga DVD is actually a Pilates DVD! A 10 minute solutions one - prenatal Pilates. It's split into about 5 ten minute sections.

I'm still just tired but have a cold to go with it. Also have an observation tomorrow so looking forward to the added stress!!!

Fifi10 · 20/01/2016 21:03

sausage I think (and others may correct me) that heartbeat may not be always be seen until 8 weeks+ My private scan on Sat will be 9 weeks and I've been warned that all I may not see that much. Hopefully you'll see more next time?

Congrats kimbles

Cherryberry1 · 20/01/2016 21:05

Hello and Congratulations to all the new ladies!

What fabulous news, Kimbles Smile

I too am switching between feeling ravenous to nauseous and I'm finding myself eating a lot more often than I normally do.

I have added myself to the list.

MillieMoodle · 20/01/2016 21:53

Evening all

Kimbles - glad to hear it's good news!

Have been a bit quiet as had a busy couple of days and it was my birthday as well. Have booking in appointment with midwife on Friday this week. Also got a letter in the post yesterday confirming my 12wk scan will be 17th Feb, which seems ages away. Still trying to convince DH that we should have an early scan but he's not having any of it.

Have had cramping today which is hopefully just baby settling in. Am still struggling with tiredness, nausea and lack of patience. I have also found that I can't stand the smell of our kitchen, it makes me heave (I don't have a stinky kitchen btw, but at the moment I can smell a gnat fart from a mile away so the kitchen seems to be a mash up of icky smells).

I have also gone off tea. I can just about manage orange juice and tropical squash. Food-wise I can't even bear the thought of fish. With DS it was cheese that I couldn't bear. Strange times!

CatFaceCrayola · 20/01/2016 22:46

Last time I did a load of antenatal yoga videos off youtube. Can't remember who was talking about yoga now

ohanami · 20/01/2016 23:32

Great news kimbles Smile

We used to be in se London too sophie but moved to Kent a little while before dd was born. I worked at King's a while back, the midwives I worked with a bit were all lovely.

Which bit of the sticks are you moving to frazzle?

FrazzleRock · 21/01/2016 05:53

Morning all!
I've woken at silly o'clock again so here I am.

milliemoodle happy belated birthday! I hope you had a good day. Did you do anything nice?
17th Feb isn't that far away in the grand scheme of things. However, I'm like you and would be dying to have an early scan. Tell DH your peace of mind is better than being anxious about waiting. Saying that, I've no idea what a private scan costs.

ohanami funny you should mention you moved to Kent, that's exactly what we're hoping to do. Thinking Tonbridge or Paddock Wood. Heard Marden is lovely to. Bit different to SW London which is where I've been all my life!

How is everyone this morning? Did we all sleep well? For once I didn't get up for a wee!

wineandcheeseplease · 21/01/2016 06:32

Morning all! I booked in with one 2 one midwives and am being seen tomorrow!

Frazzled, I slept well - only problem is I'm exhausted from the moment I get up!

wineandcheeseplease · 21/01/2016 06:32

Frazzle even!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 21/01/2016 06:34

Morning all

What possessed me to stay up late watching 'too ugly to date'?! Gah.

nailsathome · 21/01/2016 06:55

I'm in Kent too!

Lilliana · 21/01/2016 06:57

Morning everyone. I'm still tired! Had to get up for a wee in the night and didn't really go back to sleep. It's going to be a looooong day.

millie hope you had a lovely birthday.

Have a sick free day everyone!

DrWhy · 21/01/2016 07:03

OK - may regret saying this but is anyone else 6 weeks+ and not really having any symptoms? I was having regular cramping but that seems to have stopped, no sickness, no funny changes in tastes or smells. I am crushingly tired but that's pretty normal (goodness knows how I'll cope with a baby!).
I'm starting to worry that something has gone wrong and I just don't know it it. This time last week I definitely felt pregnant, now I really don't. It's another 2 weeks before I even have my booking in appointment. I guess there is not much I can do but wait.

MillieMoodle · 21/01/2016 07:06

Morning all

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Didn't do a lot, had the afternoon off work so just enjoyed the peace and quiet while DH was at work and DS at school.

Struggling to get going this morning; I woke up once in the night for a wee and although I went straight back to sleep I feel like I've not slept at all. I need to haul myself into the shower but my bed is just so comfy! I was up at 6 to make sandwiches etc but now I'm lying on my bed and wishing I could stay here!

My nose is bunged up today, think I'm getting a cold. But on the bright side my sense of smell is much less sensitive so I'm not feeling as sick so far (although the worst nausea seems to come when I'm at work).

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

sarahanne4 · 21/01/2016 07:11

Morning! I'm also up at ridiculous o'clock Confused: currently on a train to the airport and have two (yes two!!) 3hr flights today for a meeting , then sleeper back to the West Country tonight. Not looking forward to all the travel. I feel this weekend will be all about sleep!

Hope everyone else has a good day. So jealous of all you peeps who already have midwife contact, still nothing from mine.

Kitkatmonster · 21/01/2016 07:19

drwhy I'm a bit further on than you (7+4) and my symptoms have been very mild - I've only been physically sick twice during this last week and yesterday I was feeling so normal and not pregnant it's scary. Sore boobs (even that's not as bad as it has been) are about the only symptom I have at the minute.

I wish I had a clearer memory of the early pregnancy days with my other two, it would reassure me I think. I've had no cramping or bleeding recently but I think the minimal symptoms seems worrying. It sounds stupid but I think I would be happy throwing up several times a day because at least I'd feel like my body was doing what it should. If I carry on like this I'll be worrying about a missed miscarriage all the way to the scan - which seems a long way off!

Unreliablepat · 21/01/2016 07:29

Morning all.

kimbles - that is fab news, must be such a relief!

milliemoo - belated birthday wishes.

Thanks for the pilates/yoga tips. I had seen the pilates one on amazon so may get that today. I like the idea of only doing 10 mins at a time. My other yoga dvd seems to go on for hours and nearly kills me as I'm so inflexible! I will also check out YouTube - never think to do that.

Sounds like you have a busy day sarah. I definitely don't have the energy to do that.

My first job of the day is to chase up architects and builders as we are going to have some work done on our house and it suddenly seems a lot more urgent. I don't want to have to bring a newborn home to a house without a working kitchen!

Still a bit worried about lack of symptoms but I'm only 5 wks so guess it's early days.

Newtothevillage · 21/01/2016 07:39

Morning all,

I am also virtually symptom free, sore nipple and exhausted from the minute I get up, plus constant mild cramps that seem to move around but no sickness, funny tastes or smells. Counting it as a blessing so far and trying to keep positive.

Happy belated birthday Millie - we are due date twins!
