Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

If I'm being honest though, I don't expect it will be born in Sept! My other two were both early, DS @ 38 weeks and DD @ 39+3. It's so close I think I'll end up with an August one but we'll see :)

I have random cramping too, I'm so much more worried this time than ever before! Because I'm older, heavier and aware of the risks more than in my 20s I think!

wineandcheeseplease · 10/01/2016 18:23

Hmm I may and try to drink more then. Must admit I haven't been drinking enough

Purplypinkstar · 10/01/2016 19:17

I feel like a right grumpy bumpy. This is pregnancy #4 and even though I had morning sickness all the way through last time, this time it's a horrible sicky feeling all day. I feel like I'm suffocating. I'm also completely shattered. My dh doesn't understand as last time I was full of beans! Sorry to moan...

LetThereBeCupcakes · 10/01/2016 19:37

Hi all - just quickly dropping in. On my phone so will have to update the list tomorrow.

Welcome to all of the new members!

Sorry to many are worried. Try and remember that being pregnant is hard work and most aches and pains are totally normal. Midwives would always rather see you though, so don't worry about ringing for advice.

purply I'm exactly the same - this is DC2 but I'm finding it so much harder this time round. Nauseas pretty much all day. If I finally think of something I fancy eating, by the time I've cooked it I've gone off the idea! DH is being thoroughly lazy, as per usual. Hmm

eskimo I had hardly any symptoms with DS - in fact the main reason I took a test was because I didn't feel that general grotty feeling I always get just before my period. It was the best I'd felt for ages! This time around I feel like I've got the tail end of flu. I just want to sleep.

One of my dogs is unwell (cancer), and has to go out 2-3 times per night. It was FOUR times last night, then DS was up at 6. I'm exhausted so think I'll be having a nice early night tonight!

MrsS182 · 10/01/2016 20:04

Thanks for the info about possible dehydration causing the twinges. Been getting pains all day.

Now told our parents do obviously now gone into a paranoid meltdown that I've either invented this pregnancy as a figment of my imagination or something will go wrong. Trying to be cool but it's quite difficult, not sure how I will make it another 6 weeks to scan!

SewSlapdash · 10/01/2016 21:12

I agree with cupcakes that aches, pains and twinges are all completely normal and it's usually just a case of your body preparing itself and dealing with the pregnancy.

At one point when I was pregnant with DS I jotted down all of the symptoms I'd had and there were no less than 34 separate symptoms. Unfortunately, what they don't tell you about pregnancy symptoms is that you might get all of them at some point or other Grin

MillieMoodle · 10/01/2016 21:30

Yy to the total and utter exhaustion. I've barely done anything this weekend. Also I'm very grumpy (I think cos I'm too tired to listen/think/speak). Also I've had pretty constant nausea today, along with indigestion. I've been really thirsty as well, but gone off tea and only want to drink really cold water or squash.

Have also gone off most food but had a sudden desire for lime marmalade on toast!

Not looking forward to work tomorrow (or the rest of the week!). I know it will be stressful so that's not helping me to feel any less icky. Roll on next weekend! Smile

VeeTea · 11/01/2016 01:06

Another first-timer here. By my calculations due 30 Aug (1st day of last period 24 Nov), so guess it'll actually be Sept. Midwife appointment on Friday, so guess I'll find out more then! Was a bit worried about some mild cramping, like period pain but read another thread that said it's v normal!

Kitkatmonster · 11/01/2016 05:42

Millie, I'm feeling exactly the same about work. It's stressful, needs all my attention and I'm dreading it at the moment. I have Feb half term off as leave, just need to get there - one day at a time!

MillieMoodle · 11/01/2016 07:28

Same here kitkat. I don't intend to tell work until after the scan, so in the meantime people will continue to pile crap on me and expect me to sort it out, when all I want to do is sleep!

I shall try to remain calm...!

Lilliana · 11/01/2016 07:48

Hi can I join you? Just got a line and I'm thrilled but terrified. EDD 22nd Sept but I had 2 miscarriages last year so not counting on anything yet. Hope we all have very boring pregnancies with very happy endings.

pa55methecake · 11/01/2016 07:56

Hello everyone! Congratulations on all the BFP's. I found out a week ago that we are expecting our first and are due at the beginning of September.
I am absolutely thrilled after trying for around a year, however I'm really struggling to get my head around passing the 12 week mark. Some days i don't think about it too much but others I'm struggling knowing that I may not make it that far. Is this normal, I'm guessing so. I keep telling myself that women are pregnant all the time and I can't change anything as I'm doing all I can but still it's that first hurdle isn't it.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 11/01/2016 08:30

Morning everybody.

Pa55 I think it's normal to a certain extent! Try not to drive yourself crazy though. I think we have an unusually high number of people who have previously suffered MCs on this thread which probably reminds us all of the possibility. The thread I was on with DS I don't remember anybody having had a MC - just one lady who sadly had a TFMR.

ickle you should get some answers today, shouldn't you? Hope all is well.

I've just had to tell HR, as I had an email inviting me to a 3 day first aid refresher course next week. The way I feel right now I really don't think I could manage it unfortunately.

I really, really fancy Tomato Soup with Hot Buttered Toast. I don't have any. And it's 8.30am. And I'm at work. Sad

nailsathome · 11/01/2016 08:47

Cupcakes I think you copied an old list.

Welcome to the new people. Sorry to those of you pg after mc, it really ruins subsequent pregnancies because you are even more aware of how easily it can go wrong. If you haven't already, you may find it easier to join the pg after mc thread as well/instead as you will find more specific support on there.

nailsathome · 11/01/2016 08:49

Sorry cupcakes, just rechecked the list and I'm on it twice

icklekid · 11/01/2016 08:50

Thanks for remembering me cupcakes Yes sat in Dr now waiting for another blood test and then will see how long results take. I still feel very pregnant (lots of sickness, tiredness and sore boobs.) SO don't think I will cope well if I'm told am mc. Work are great as have told my head and his wife went through this a few months ago.

balalalala · 11/01/2016 08:54

Morning everyone! I'm feeling totally shattered today and struggling with the thought of food. Dry toast may well be the answer! I'm not intending to tell work until after the first scan, but I'm pretty sure some people will guess as I used to drink about 8 cups of tea a day and I have gone right off it!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 11/01/2016 09:06

Oops sorry nails - I must have copied instead of cut! Can we put it down to baby brain? If anybody spots any errors please feel free to copy the list and repost, I can be a bit slow!

icklekid · 11/01/2016 09:16

Well blood taken but the nurse said it won't be until Wednesday that I will hear back and they will ring if a problem. I've just cried down the phone to dh the gp had said I would find out today. I can't wait until Wednesday and I need them to ring either way not dread the phone ringing and then be dismissed as yes everything's fine when I end up chasing. Feel so drained. Wish I could have had a scan or something rather than this endless worrying and waiting. Sorry for the moan

nailsathome · 11/01/2016 09:22

Sorry to hear that ickle. I hope every thing is ok xx

LetThereBeCupcakes · 11/01/2016 09:35

So sorry Ickle. Is there any chance they're dragging their heels because they're not worried? Hope so.

MargaretCabbage · 11/01/2016 12:07

Thanks for doing the stats Cupcake, this will be DC2 for me.

Sorry to hear that you have to wait now Ickle, it must be so stressful.

Feeling surprisingly okay! The crazy dreams have already started though - anyone else getting really weird vivid dreams yet?

Butterflies100 · 11/01/2016 12:35

Icklekid that is really rubbish. Don't they get how stressful all this is? I'm sending you positive vibes. Wednesday will be here soon.

So far I have found the doctors not massively helpful. My midwife date has now come through as 3rd Feb despite them saying she would call me as I didn't know my EDD. By my calculations I'll be about 10 weeks by then so I hope there isn't too much of a waiting list for the 12 week scan. For the list Cupcake I think my EDD is 3Rd September, I'll know more next week (hopefully, fingers crossed, praying all is OK)

Feeling pretty ropey today although my colleague said I looked good. The power of bronzer lol! Still feel sick on a morning although haven't been actually sick for 4 days. So tired, had 2 hour naps on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. At work all week so I think I'll be straight to bed when I get in! Had a few sharp twinges last night but that hasn't happened yet today. I'm basically feeling a bit of a mess!

Have decided to tell close family and friends after private scan next week although not planning to tell work until I really have to!

Love and positive vibes to all of you lovely ladies xx

ohanami · 11/01/2016 12:44

Keeping everything crossed for you ickle.

Feeling absolutely shattered today. Back is aching, insides aren't quite right, and the only food I want to eat is toast or pasta. The thought of the lovely, nutritious salmon and broccoli I'd got for my tea is making my stomach turn. Just tried to close my eyes for a couple of minutes on the sofa but dd was having none of it and woke me up shoving her finger up my nose.
